SRINAGAR - Two Indian soldiers and six militants were killed in a clash along the border dividing Kashmir between India and Pakistan as India’s new army chief wrapped up a visit, the army said on Sunday.
The army chief’s two-day visit to Indian-held Kashmir over the weekend came as the insurgency-hit region witnessed an increase in violence.
“Indian troops shot dead six militants who had infiltrated into our side from across the Line of Control (LoC),” army spokesman Anil Mathur told AFP.
Mathur confirmed that two Indian soldiers also died in the fighting Saturday evening, which he said followed a “major infiltration bid.”
The clash was the second along the heavily guarded border since army chief General Deepak Kapoor arrived in the state Friday, with three militants and a soldier dying in earlier fighting.
In separate clashes Saturday, two rebels and a soldier died in other parts of Kashmir, army spokesman Mathur said.
Kapoor told reporters in Kashmir that the week’s surge in violence showed it was not yet time for the Indian army to scale back its presence in the state, a key demand by some pro-India Kashmiri groups and moderate separatists.

The general said militants were still trying to cross into India from Pakistan-administered Kashmir in spite of an overall dip in levels of violence in recent years.
“Whenever there is a semblance of peace in the state the incidents of violence go up,” said Kapoor. “Recent killings along the LoC are proof.”
India accuses Pakistan of arming and funding militants who launched an uprising against New Delhi’s rule almost two decades ago. Islamabad denies the charge.

They forget to mention the millions of Mohammedans who have already successfully infiltrated India.
And the former area of India, now known as Pakistan.
And the former Buddhist land of Afghanistan.
And the former Christian country of Turkey.
And former Christian North Africa.
While Mussulmen always rail about the treatment of "the native Americans" and the "occupation" of parts of "Palestine", they conveniently overlook the glaring fact that a small gang of Arabs now occupy a massive area of the Earth's surface... all in the name of an imperialistic sect known as Islam.
And I don't see them withdrawing back to Mecca with a big apology for their 1300 year long rein of terror anytime soon.

The kill ratio has to be improved for us to win here, like ten or twenty jihadis per soldier.
At some point, the West, given our nuclear capability, has to pose and calculate the Sodom and Gemorrah question.
May that never happen.
But far preferable to any form of submission.

Yeah, during Ramadan there is usually a spike of violence by the 'peaceful ones'. and then Saudi crapping Arabia lets out some ex-gitmo prisoners for their Ramadan 'experience' for a temporary time period.
This only tells me that islam does indeed breed psychopathic murderers because to them being one isn't as bad as trying to get out of islam.

India has faced Jihad since the 7th century. India has been conquered. Hindu owned India accounts for about 45% of proper India, historic India. As mentioned earlier, Pakistan was stolen, East Bangle was stolen, and Afghanistan was stolen. That was all India. Muslims have conquered 55% of India, and the Jihad has been re-ignited, much thanks to the money weapon and infidel technology as Mr. Fitzgerald points out so astutely.

and all that Ghulam Nabi Azad was doing in making his statement that 'one should put Gandhian principles above religion' was just engaging in a little bit of taqiya... surely his comments were meant ONLY for Hindus who he would like to see meekly accept Islam's dominance over them.
