That Chapel Hill Muslim, Taheri-Azar, the one who tried to run down and murder fellow students standing in The Pit, within walking distance of Silent Sam, now is attempting to plead insanity.
But he left handwritten pages showing that he was anything but insane, and holds, as he so proudly quoted the Cartesian phrase, "clear and distinct ideas." That was possibly the only thing he did remember about Descartes from the Intro. to Western Phil. he must have taken as an undergraduate. His handwritten nonsense does not show insanity. It shows a Muslim Believer who takes his Islam seriously, and who is prepared to act on it. There is not one thing in those handwritten notes that he was so proud of -- they can be found online, possibly in the Archives of this very website -- that would be taken as insanity by, say, "Mike" (Maher) Hawash, or John Walker Lindh, or Richard Reid, or, for that matter, Sheikh al-Azhar (that is, the head of Al-Azhar), or Al-Qaradawi, or any Muslim cleric anywhere.
Of course, if the defense lawyer is attempting to suggest that anyone who believes this kind of thing must be, simply must be, insane, he might get his client a lighter sentence, or the asylum rather than prison. But then he'll have some explaining to do to the world's Muslims. Just what is it about Taheri-Azer's faith, and his handwritten prison testament, that you are suggesting indicates he is insane? Is it insane to wish to kill Infidels who do not know their place? Is it insane, or simply very brave, to do so knowing you will be caught? Is it insane to take seriously the texts and tenets of Islam? Is it insane to take this Qur'anic passage to heart, and this one, and that one? Or these few hundred Hadith? Is it insane to behave as you are sure Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil, would want a brave Muslim to behave, even today, in the midst of Infidels in Chapel Hill, or perhaps especially at such a time, and in such a place?
The son of Iranian exiles, secular in orientation, rediscovers in his mental desarroi the grid of Islam, the prism of Islam, Islam the System of Total Regulation, Islam the Complete Explanation for Everything. Islam -- That Is All Ye Know On Earth, and All Ye Need To Know.
So, this "moderate" Muslim who never before has given signs of being the other kind, the son of moderates himself, now gets in his powerful car, and drives to the place where his innocent fellow students stand around and chat, and he revs up the car, and aims it right at this one, and then at that one, hoping to kill or maim as many Infidels as he can. And he writes out his whole little Message to The World, or rather to his lawyer, in longhand.
Is that insane, according to the texts and tenets of Islam? Or is it admirable, according to those texts and tenets and those who believe in them? And had it succeeded, had he indeed "struck terror into the hearts of Unbelievers," what conceivable objection in Islam could be made to that? Is Taheri-Azer any more insane than the thousands of "Palestinian" Arabs who have been conducting similar attacks, or those far worse, for the last few decades? Is he more or less "insane" than those who bombed the busses in London? The Atocha subway station in Madrid? The synagogue in Djerba? The hotel in Marrakech? Or those who killed Theo van Gogh and threaten to kill Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Geert Wilders and a half-dozen others in the Netherlands alone? Those who seized the Moscow theatregoers? Those who behead Buddhist farmers and teachers and monks in southern Thailand? Those who bomb the resort in Bali, or who burn down thousands of churches in the Moluccas, or who behead Christian schoolgirls on their way to school? Are all those people "insane" by Muslim lights, or are they simply the most dutiful Muslims? Are they not actively participating, rather than supporting only indirectly, the Jihad to spread Islam? They are making sure that where it has already spread, it remains dominant, and no pesky Christian schoolgirls walking along the road are going to get in the get in the way of that understanding.
All, all of it, the acts of those who are "insane"?

Islam: Hazardous to your Mental Health
If we let Taheri-Azar (or any Muhammadan) plead guilty by reason of Islam, we have opened a Pandora's box.
Of course Muhammadans are lunatics. The more Muhammadan, the more loony. Genuflecting to a moon god, jogging around a rock, grating your brains on the nonsensical Koran, wallowing in anti-semitism and humanophobia is hazardous to anyone's mental health.

Islam is a massive religious cult/gang with insanity at it's core.....antithetical to everything God tought us, and wants us to be.
I.e., anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-freedom. The slave owners of women and children, for cooking and sex.
Wake up Islam, before it's too late for you. God will not be mocked.

Encourage all jihadists to use the insanity defense. Let the prosecution consult with Hugh and Robert. Let the court records show what book actually fueled and fed his insane desire to harm and kill filthy infidels. It's time to put Islam on trial.
There was an obscure novel "The Turner Diaries" that was cited during the McVeigh trial as a possible influence on poor ole misguided and disconnected Timmy. This book was a center of discussion for quite some time.
Put Islam on trial.

They need to put Islam on trial. This "Sudden Jihadi Syndrome" victim should simply state in court...."If the Qur'an permit, you must acquit!"

He should just plead ¨Muslim.¨

But of course he's insane!
I can hear it now! The lawyer's justification for the insanity plea:
Who else but an insane person would take the words of the ROP and twist them to justify killing "innocents", something clearly proscribed by Islam? Taheri-Azar was suffering from a mental illness that caused him to seek to do violence to others and he chose Islam to justify it in his own mind. This isn't what Islam teaches. Muslims don't seek to kill innocents. Don't judge this man by the actions of others you've heard about, such as the Moscow theater killers, the man who murdered Theo van Gogh and whatever you've heard about Bali. Taheri-Azar was a good man who fell under a mental affliction. Despite his notes, it had nothing to do with Islam. Instead Islam became another of his victims. He has done as much harm to Islam's reputation as he did to any of those he tried to run down. Don't blame the victim. Don't blame Islam. Give this man what he needs: medical treatment and your compassion and forgiveness.

I can hear it now... not just the recycled crazy loner defense we have all heard from Lodi, to Lindh, to the mall shootings. The defense will pack the jury with old sixties liberals, minorities, and those opposed to the war and will say.......
Your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury:
As counsel for the Defendant, we will demonstrate beyond any reasonable doubt that the defendant was insane at the time that he drove his SUV into a group of students at UNC Chapel Hill. We will further show that Mr Azar was the true victim in this case, and snapped due to constant abuse and discrimination. We will further show that the defendant was merely exhibiting constitutionally protected behavior. He was exercising his right to free speech and to practice the religion of his choice. In fact, to act against discrimination was his duty as a good citizen. He was merely enjoying the rights against tyranny that we have enjoyed since the first shot of the Revolutionary War on Bunker Hill.
Mr Azar was a deeply religious man that like our forefathers, suffered discrimination at the hands of society for the crime of his constitutional right to practice religion. Years of being surrounded by societal behavior that was shocking to this devout man, caused him to snap. Constant assaults on his conscious included, immodestly dressed women attending school, openly in the unchaperoned company of unmarrried men, performing such acts as driving and speaking before being spoken to; caused Mr. Azar to snap.
Mr Azar, not unlike a delicate flower, could not withstand the constant hailstorm of abuse and discrimination and felt compelled to act out. Ladies and Gentlemen, how many of you were victims of a school yard bully. Imagine if that bully had followed you everywhere you went and constantly assaulted and abused you. Would you have not snapped, yes it would be reasonable for you to strike out against your tormentor. Mr Azar is the real victim in this case. It is western culture that is the true perpetrator. Not unlike the brave individuals that suffered discrimination at the hands of society in the 1960's. They too acted out and started the civil rights movement. Mr Azar was attempting to make a misguided statement for his civil rights to practice religion.
It is not so hard to see how our culture and society seeks out Muslims to destroy. Look at Iraq. The United States created the myth of Weapons of Mass Destruction in order to invade a peaceful country. In pursuit of this modern crusade, has occupied that country for years and killed hundreds of thousand Muslims. Just like many enlightened individuals in our country that oppose this unjust war, make constitutionally protected speech through actions such as marching and flag burning. Mr. Azar, through his actions, was speaking out against the war, by taking actions that would qualify as constitutionally protected speech..........(On and so on...)
Rather than convict.. the Jury will carry the defendant out on their shoulders, will invite him for a victory party at their homes and will raise funds for a statute of Azar to be erected in the middle of the Pit.

We are seeing a trend take place....
'Not all muslims are terrorist, but all terrorist are muslims'.
try the new trend...
'Not all muslims are claiming insanity, but all those claiming insanity are muslims'.
If muslims continue to claim insanity everytime they commit a crime, then we may have to re-designate Islam from a religion to a psychological disorder.....ALL in favor vote now.

Then there is the case of Aziz Popal, the San Francisco SUV killer, who's claims of being a terrorist were dismissed almost as soon as he had made them. Of course, his lawyer is now claiming insanity, also. His case may never even come to trial.
Here's a link:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51749
In the article:
Throughout the chaos, the Chronicle (local SF paper) said, "only one thing seemed clear: The driver was on a hunt. A hunt for humans."
Except, of course, he was not hunting humans, as he saw it. He was hunting Infidels--Christians--religious, or just cultural--and especially Jews. He was finally apprehended outside San Francisco's large Jewish Community Center. He had run down two people right outside the building.
He had driven *over thirty miles* from his home in Fremont, California through heavy traffic to be sure of reaching some Jews, killing one man and injuring twenty people en route.
Supposedly he was upset because his new bride had run into a delay in joining him in the US. He had just returned from his native Afghanistan where he married a woman who had never met himn before--of course, it was an arranged marriage.
Who knows what else he picked up on his trip to Afghanistan? Maybe some Jihad ideology, to be put to use the first time he felt a bit of frustration with the Kaffir--after all, is not handling immigration having "dominion" over him?
The parralells with the Taheri-Azar are striking. These two men were born in different countries, and have markedly different educational levels. What they have in common is Islam, and an instinct to blame Infidels for the smallest frustrations in their lives.
Taheri-Azar was frustrated because he was still working at a yogurt shop a year after graduation--the college-educated career had not materialized yet. This describes the situation of probably half of all new college graduates, when they first realize that their diplomas are not an automatic, and immediate, key to wealth and success.
Most of us just punch up our resumes and start looking for internships or entry-level job openings. Taheri-Azar decided it must be the fault of the Infidels, and decided they must pay.

The insanity defense is last resort claim when all other bogus reasons for trying to commit murder are shot down in flames...much like the "insanity" defense should too.
He wasn't/isn't insane...if he's insane, then I'm Jesus Christ...(last time I checked, I wasn't.) lol

Mental instability brought him to the edge of the precipice, and Islam gave him a push.

Hmmm...interesting take.
Perhaps if you're referring to the mental instability that his set of beliefs encompasses, I'd say that's spot on...by then it wouldn't take much to push him into the act. If that be the case, we'd then have to pursue the issue of his "religion".
Either way, the death cult loses on both accounts.
