Actually, they knew it would be about waging war, but they found out no war needed to be waged: "They'd followed the call from a religious leader in Pakistan to come in and wage jihad. They were told believed that the 'infidels' -- the NATO forces -- were running this country now, and they came in to help drive them out...they suddenly realize that Afghanistan is not ruled by infidels, that this very much still a Muslim country, and they were proclaiming their naivete."
Or that's what they say, anyway.
All week during my Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week talks at DePaul, the University of Rhode Island, and Brown (I also spoke at Dartmouth, but this didn't happen there), I was confronted by people who had been lied to and who fervently believed the lies and were acting upon them. This is apparently -- if the claims of these men are to be believed -- happening in jihad recruitment in Pakistan also.
These men may well be lying, but in theory it is completely believable that these men would have been told that Afghanistan was being trodden under by infidels, with no mention made of how anxious those infidels are not to do anything to give offense to Islam or Muslims. But when the propagandized saw that their propaganda didn't match reality, their eyes began to be opened. Perhaps that will begin to happen on college campuses also.

Three self-confessed, 20-something Pakistani jihadists arrested in Afghanistan have an odd story to tell -- assuming it's true."They'd followed the call from a religious leader in Pakistan to come in and wage jihad," CTV's Paul Workman told Newsnet on Saturday from Kandahar.
"They were told believed that the 'infidels' -- the NATO forces -- were running this country now, and they came in to help drive them out.
After their arrest, "they suddenly realize that Afghanistan is not ruled by infidels, that this very much still a Muslim country, and they were proclaiming their naivete," he said.
An Afghan security official told a news conference that three suspected Taliban 'trainers' from Pakistan had been arrested as they travelled to Kandahar province.
Security agents picked up the three men on the highway between Uruzgan province and Kandahar to the south, Abdul Qayoom, of the National Directorate for Security, said Saturday in Kandahar City.
Authorities said they believe the men are trainers for the Taliban, who have been trying to recruit more members to become suicide bombers.
"The intelligence services say they knew they were coming and that they are not just naive foot soldiers, that they very much are involving in training people to make and set roadside bombs," Workman said.
The arrests actually happened a week ago but only made public now. However, the Afghan security forces want to show that they are doing their jobs, he said.

Once we have at least two people from every state, we can agree on a mailing date and then each of us can mail a copy of the book on that date.
Right before each of us mails the book, we’ll issue a press release to media outlets in as many states as possible, and in that way announce and explain the mailing. And perhaps we can come up with some other ways of maximizing the effectiveness of this project and gaining as much positive attention as possible.
One of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the Anti-Jihad Caucus in Congress. When we reach the goal of having all 100 senators covered, I'll call Rep. Myrick's office and see if she can help. I've called several congressional offices to get advice on how best to proceed.

That's very good work you are doing treah.

I like the way it says 'trying' to recruit. Maybe they are running low on idiots. Probably not, it's just that your average muslim would like a little more in the way of job security. Sure you can get a job like that, but how long does it last. You go to work for only a few seconds, and bang, your retired.
It's even faster than the sex life of a frog, they hop on, they hop off, and they croak. But at least they got to croak, the muslim suicide bomber does not even get to do that. Permanent retirement with no pay, unless you really can purchase a ticket to Allah's sexaporium in the sky. But if muslims really believed that, they would be clamoring for those bomb vests. This just tells me that all muslims may be jihadists or potentials, but there are a limited number who are stupid enough for the finality of martyrdom. You never see clerics or any Ayatollahs setting any examples of martyrdom by blowing themselves up for Allah. I suppose out of a billion or so people, there are always some who will go for just about anything, so I doubt they will run out of martyrs, but if they are 'trying to recruit' them, there must be a local shortage...

Still a jihadi. And as long as they are programmed to kill us, they are better hors de combat.

Don't hold out much hope for the college campus. The propagandized are now teaching their second and third generation of students that this country is out to destroy all other cultures. They will not be convinced by mere facts and their students won't learn the facts unless they seek them out.
Indoctrination U will not change its curriculum without a fight.

Today's lesson on the college campus:
America is an imperialistic, arrogant, racist, war-mongering, immoral, corrupt, lying, evil, greedy, narcissistic, country; filled with hopelessly stupid, selfish, and close-minded citizens who hate anyone and anything that is different from their own brainwashed perspective.
Students who refuse to accept these FACTS are only demonstrating the very characteristics as described above. If you are intelligent and enlightened enough, you will naturally embrace peaceful Islam as an improvement to the moral and spiritual decline of current Western Civilization.

Recruting Suicide Bombers? According to an NPR report. Suicide Bombers in Afcrapistan are primarly the Dreggs of Society. The Mental cases, the Handicaped, Amputies, others shunned from Society in general. In part, the program pointed out how Suicide Attacks in Afcrapistan are markedly less effective than other like it in Iraq.
It looks like Suicide really isn't for Dummies after all.

If only the infidels were running Afghanistan!
Pakistan is the armpit of the Muslim world. At least the Saudis have an Islamofascist government that is good at making money for the "royal" family and using some of that money to successfully export wahhabi Islamofascism to the rest of the world.
In contrast, Pakistan is the boonies. They are a broken culture. What was there before, the Hindu and other cultures, was decimated by Islamic expansionism. They were left with nothing. No unifying culture with a history rooted in the place beyond the tribe, the whole thing scotched together by the worst of the Arabian peninsula ideology.
In a lot of ways, Pakistan is the post-Islamic conquest equivalent of the horrid
Pakistan is a nation that has done nothing, cannot do anything, and is unable to maintain basic control within its borders.
These guys are just run-of-the-mill Pakistani troublemakers, too stupid to even be real jihadis.

I agree with all you said in your post above, but the last line set me thinking.

I agree with this, but I was thinking that these run-of-the-mill idiots can do some things that are beyond us Infidels. They can saw off the heads of animals, they have been brought up doing it. And we also know that they are more than capable of torturing an Infidel soldier to a terrible death. Throughout jihad history, across cultures and geography, time and space, Infidels have preferred death to a capture by jihadis. They tortured men, raped and killed women, and took the children, both boys and girls, as sex slaves. And they had the koranic texts and the example of muhammad, uswa hasana, al insan al kamil as their guiding light. We Infidels cannot afford to think that some jihadis are lesser than the other just because some can not fly planes or handle explosives. We must keep in mind always that the texts that drove atta and these "harmless" ones are the same and we must remember that both kind were brought up in the atmospherics of islam. A jihadi is a jihadi. The threat might be bigger or smaller, but we must take them seriously considering their formidable record of death, destruction and mayhem that is all of 1350 year long.

Arjun, you are right on the money.
There are probably a good number of jihadi's from Pakistan/Afghanistan or wherever who are illiterate morons and who just follow their imam's, but all in all they need to be thoroughly investigated when they make these claims and act stupid because many of them are not, in fact many are educated and had good training.
But you can call me a radical; because I don't approve of taking prisoners.
