"Islamofascism: A federal panel wants a Saudi school inside the Beltway shut for promoting hate, something we've urged for years. But remarkably, this madrassa still has powerful backers." The IBD takes on a manifestation of moral equivalence from the Washington Post.
From Investor's Business Daily (thanks to Design Nut):
The Washington Post rebuked the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom for singling out the academy in a report criticizing Saudi Arabia for promoting religious intolerance in schools it runs around the world. As we've reported in these pages, the Alexandria, Va.-based Islamic Saudi Academy is a breeding ground for terrorists, including the al-Qaida operative convicted last year of trying to assassinate President Bush.
The commission has asked the State Department to close the school pending a thorough review of its curriculum and texts. State has broad discretion over the school because, as an arm of the Saudi government, it's subject to the Foreign Missions Act.
The Post editorialists called the move "irresponsible." First, they tried to compare the madrassa to parochial schools. "Many such schools teach what outsiders might consider intolerance: that homosexuality is a sin, for example, or that only those who believe in Jesus Christ are destined for heaven," they said.
Then they argued that there's no proof the Saudi academy has cross the lines of intolerance into "advocating violence."
"The commission presented no evidence, or even a credible suggestion, that this is occurring at the Saudi academy," the Post editorial board opined. "Thus it was the commission that crossed the lines."
But evidence has been presented in the very pages of the Post. If only the paper's higher-ups would read the copy of their news reporters.
Take the Feb. 25, 2002, Post story headlined, "Where Two Worlds Collide; Muslim Schools Face Tension of Islamic, U.S. Views." It noted that numerous textbooks used by the Islamic Saudi Academy promote "hatred of non-Muslims and Shiite Muslims."
"The 11th-grade textbook, for example, says one sign of the Day of Judgment will be that Muslims will fight and kill Jews, who will hide behind trees that say: 'Oh Muslim, Oh servant of God, here is a Jew hiding behind me. Come here and kill him,' " the article said.
It goes on to quote several students of the school who say they are taught in Islamic studies that "it is better to shun and even to dislike Christians, Jews and Shiite Muslims."
One teen, who recited by memory parts of the Quran, told the Post he's taught by academy teachers that it's OK for Muslims to hurt or steal from such "kaffirs."...
Yes, WaPo, that's just like teaching that Jesus Christ is the only Savior!
This was the steady diet of hate that the Saudi academy fed Ahmed Abu Ali, the would-be al-Qaida assassin.Lest anyone think he was a misfit loner, Ali graduated valedictorian and was voted by his class "Most Likely to Be a Martyr," which in this jihadist school is like being voted Most Popular.
Why is this militant madrassa still operating just across the Potomac from the White House and Capitol? Because Fairfax County is still leasing it an old high school building, and the Democrat county supervisor in charge of the lease doesn't see any problem with the school.
The supervisor recently took a tour of the campus and "was reassured by what he saw in the English materials," the Post editorial said.
What about the Arabic texts? He doesn't read Arabic. But the Saudi Embassy, which controls the school, assures him they're clean.
The nonprofit Freedom House recently translated a sample of those cleaned-up official Saudi texts and found they're still indoctrinating students to wage jihad against the infidel to "spread the faith."
Here's what an eighth-grade Saudi text teaches — with the intolerant parts removed: "The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus."
In short, nothing has really changed in Saudi texts or schools — nor in Washington, which is still blindly tolerating intolerance.

With the US president/commander-in-chief in the wahhabi back pocket, who will close the madrassa. Why is the president increasing student's visas (the exact visas Saudis used for 9/11 attack), giving financial aid to the richest country in the world, Saudi Arabia and not lifting a finger against the country that slaughtered 3000 citizens who elected him to the president's office. Think about that..

Step right up folks and see it here again: it's the toxic House of Saud promoting the hate in the koranic text of fundamental islam.
Note how the defenders of the school try and deflect criticism under the guise of - oh it's just a religion which must be protected.
The subtext is - are you going to take on a gazillion people ? Subtext - you betcha.
Speak the truth and damn the torpedoes.
The cowardly left is either shaking in their boots, offering surrender, or in total denial.

It is apparently quite alright to commit treason in the United States, as long as you make enough money at it. Shame on President Bush for all the oversights for which he and his administration are responsible as well as the blackmail that they are paying to the Islamists.

I'll bet that the same school refuses to lease space to the Boy Scouts of America because they will not tolerate gay scout masters. Who are more of a threat to US society, the Boy Scouts or the jihadists? ;)

So many of the PC crowd, who would defend the jihadi school to the end, would and do go after Christian parents who home school their children. In their alter-universe minds, those people are the real threat to our society.

I live in Fairfax County, VA. I might have to write a letter to the county supervisor. I tend to vote Democrat (although not always), but they need to be educated (so do Republicans).
Also, even if all text books, in English and Arabic, are examined for inciteful passages, there is nothing to prevent the teachers from teaching "off the books." And if even a single Quran is present in the school, they essentially have a text book to teach the Jihadi Way -- to teach hatred/subjugation of women, children, non-muslims (especially "people of the book"), homosexuals, apostates, etc. Of course, some of those "crimes" are death sentences under Sharia laws.
at November 3, 2007 9:35 AM
I'd like to amend my previous post. I believe certain issues I referred to are in the Hadith (such as killing homosexuals) and not the Quran. I suspect they have the Hadith there, too, though.
I wonder if the ISA has a chess club ...

....not fighting Islamic terrorism and not fighting Islamic terrorist training facilities are "irresponsible"...absolutely....
...how much do the Muslims give to the Post ?.....

.......dhimmicrats in charge of anything usually indicates the voters in the area are brain dead....they probably know as little about Islam as does the dhimmicrat county supervisor in charge.....
...nothing but trouble ahead for this community...and it has Islams fingerprint on it...

I would think that the establishment of an award such as "Martyr of the Year" would be sufficient to close this school.
How does this school become exempt from the local board of education's jurisdiction? because it is an extension of the Saudi Embassy? It has 938 students! This is an absolute fraud!
Are Christians allowed services at he U.S. embassy in Riyadh? Their own Christian school? Are there even jews on the US Embassy staff in SA?
I'm getting too distressed already on this beautiful Fall Saturday morning. It's too early for this. I'm going to go play 18 holes.
Good article on this at Center for Vigilent Freedom as well: http://www.vigilantfreedom.org/910blog/2007/11/01/more-on-the-islamic-saudi-academy/#comments

Why even bother criticising Saudi Arabia for promoting intolerance? It's in its nature to do so. That's like criticising a Western state for being democratic.

This is just sick! How can this reporter equate the two superlatives?
'Most likely to strap on a bomb and kill himself and as many others as possible', versus 'That guy all the other guys want to be like, and all the girls want to date'.
Aww, never mind. I'm going to see if this dork has an email address, or a place for comments on his article.
In the meantime, why don't they close the madrassa, and relocate it to the Senate building?
It would be interesting to see and hear what our Senators have to say about all the mild inconveniences of living with such people literally in their midst.
I'd like to know how our elected representatives would cope with daily Mohammedan demands, if they weren't in a position to ignore them.

The Muslim terrorists (and anyone who directly or indirectly supports active terrorists is a terrorist) in this country are constantly pushing the limits of blind gullibility of the major press & political establishment and probably are still amazed at infidel stupidity. “How dumb can they be?” they must be saying with a laugh. This is not the first time they have played the Washington Post for dhimmi fools. In the West most soft-living and wishful thinking Infidels are such pushovers for Muslim pretensions.

Saudi-A-Totalitarian-Gas-Station ("family owned") is at the core of Islamofascism. Without the family, the "religious police", Arab apartheid of non-Arabs, exploitation of "guest workers" ("we keep you're passport, pal"), etc. and most of Jihad would be manageable. The attitude of the Saudi-A-Totolitarian-Gas-Station family is similar to the Corleone family: "keep you're friends close but your enemies even closer".

The fact of the matter, that no one in public life has the guts to say, is that this teaching of intolerance, hatred & violence ( esp. toward Jews), that the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom objects to, comes directly out of the Koran & respected Hadiths. That is, this is legitimate Islamic teaching!
The Koran in many suras demands making no friendship with infidels and even hating these "vilest of creatures", and it calls for subjugating or killing them. It is hate literature and it is plainly so to anyone not reading it through dark rose-colored glasses. Thus, what must be done is actually the prevention of much of genuine Islamic teachings.
Hence, close down this madrassa & any like it!

I certainly hope, Coeurmaeghan, that you are not so blind as to think this policy is particular to the Bush administration! This cannot go on without the approval of Congress, and has been going on for decades, for which both political parties should be held accountable. One has to wonder what was contained in the documents Sandy Berger stole from the National Archives. They must have reflected extreme incompetence on the part of the previous administration in combatting terror, considering that they were destroyed.
Would you say that the US Congress is in the pockets of the Islamists for refusing to allow the development of our own national resources which could lead to our energy independence? Are Democrats and RINO's in the pockets of 'big oil'? Afterall, it is a supply issue that keeps prices high.
We should NEVER allow Saudi-funded schools in the United States since they are one of the biggest human rights violators in the world. Why should we let them spread their hatred here? Now on that I'm sure we can agree.
