If we would just open the borders so we know who's coming in, this kind of problem won't happen.

And if we give them a driver's license we would all be safer because they would have insurance whenever they blew up a building. . . .

I don't want anyone on our side (in particular, any of our service men and women) to be harmed in any way. However, such an event being attempted would most likely lead to SOMETHING being done to secure the border. As was said above, nothing wil be done until something really bad happenes.

From what we have seen of FBI reports in the past, they tend to play down threats, rather than talk them up.
If this report were only half true, it would still point to a very serious and determined threat.
Six months is not a long time to spend preparing a major terror attack, and Thanksgiving is coming up this week, so now could be a good time for people to be especially watchful and alert.

Statements like the quote above show how little effort most politicians, who pretend to represent the public, have expended on understanding the nature of the problem.

Sure, maybe Islamists have toppled multiple empires, using the same methods, with the same goals for the last 1400 years... but this last six months of talking-about-possibly-starting-to-start-to-think-about-considering-to-consider-controlling our border.... that stopped 'em dead in their tracks. I certainly agree with your sentiments. The President and a large number of Congressmen should be in jail today for criminal neglect.

But frankly, I don't think a major terrorst catastrophe will change a thing. They'll just go on as before telling us about the peaceful Islamic religion, and that there's really nothing wrong except for our ignorance and intollerance.

We've had years of the most horrible crimes committed in the name of this sick cult, and our leaders are a blind as ever. It's not likely that one more crime will make them see the light.

So long as the American public keep voting these willfully ignorant people into office, they have no right to expect better.

Interesting points about Fort Huachuca: The major tenant is the US Army Intelligence Center, Its army airbase (Libby Field) is an alternate landing field for the Space Shuttle,It is the headquarters Army Military Affiliate Radio System. It is also The joint Interoperability test Command, and an Electronic proving ground facility. It is also a main facility for Radar-equipped Aerostat which is one of a series that is operated and maintained by the DEA to counter and detect any low flying aircraft.

The Fort is approximately 15 miles from the Mexican Border.

I am amazed there has not been a significant attack on US soil since 9-11. I am beginning to think Al Qaeda did indeed consider Iraq to be it's focal point. But now that AQI is bailing out of Iraq will they focus on the US again? Or have they been slowly putting together a large coordinated attack?

Tancredo said one person captured at the US/Mexico border is now at Club Gitmo. Anyone have a link to more info on this?

Anyone have links to info on how many Muslims have been captured coming in to the US from Mexico?

they are just biding their time, time is on their side, they have hundreds of thousands of volunteers, thousands and thousands of patient hours to kill. they see time through the eyes of allah, endless, they can wait, they will wait until each piece of the cog is in place then BOOM! We will be caught with our pants down again, this time we probably will lose hundreds of thousands. we are not a patient people, we wonder why we haven't won the war on terror within 6 weeks, all televised live on CNN. notice how people are no longer driving around with stars and stripes proudly emblazoned on their cars? people have forgotten that we are at war, they have forgotten why, they don't care for it anymore. Middle Eastern illegal aliens can easily blend in with Mexican illegal aliens. As long as you don’t hear them speak, they can get away with it. Which makes it even easier to cross the border.
