"The official said the number of foreign fighters has dropped off since the Sinjar raid. The U.S. military believes both Syria and Saudi Arabia in recent months have taken a number of actions to reduce the flow of foreign fighters."
That's nice of them, over four years into the war, though it certainly sounds like the Sinjar raid helped, too. And now, Libya has some explaining to do. "'Al Qaeda rolodex' found in Iraq," by Barbara Starr for CNN:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As many as 60 percent of the foreign fighters who entered Iraq in the past year have come from Saudi Arabia and Libya, according to documents discovered in a raid in September near the Syrian border, a senior U.S. military official in Baghdad confirmed to CNN Thursday.
The documents confiscated in that raid listed the identities of more than 700 foreign fighters in Iraq, whom the United States believes entered that country since August 2006. The official describes the documents as "an al Qaeda rolodex."
Scrutinized along with other intelligence in the hands of the U.S. military, the documents show that 60 percent of the foreign fighters who entered Iraq during that time frame came either from Saudi Arabia or Libya, the official said.
The United States believes 305 foreign fighters came from Saudi Arabia, and 137 came from Libya.
The raid took place in Sinjar, close to the Syrian border. That raid has been discussed in the past by the U.S. military, but this is the first time the intelligence findings have been discussed in such detail. The New York Times first reported the new information on Thursday.
The official said the number of foreign fighters has dropped off since the Sinjar raid. The U.S. military believes both Syria and Saudi Arabia in recent months have taken a number of actions to reduce the flow of foreign fighters.

But what of the oft-repeated refrain from the Bush administration ... Saudi Arabia is an important ally in the war on terror?

Culturism is as much of a science as it is an art. We do not have to guess that immigrants from Saudi Arabia and Libya may have a higher propensity for terrorism than folks from elsewhere.
First you recognize that we, like Saudi Arabia, are fully within our rights to never allow immigration of another person from any country of our choice. Culturism means cultures have rights. We have a right to exclude you. Your rights as an American cannot be violated unless you are one.
Secondly, you count up the number of people from each country who have committed terrorist acts. Then you set a number above which will trigger the abolition of immigration from that country. During international intervention we should set it close to zero.
People may complain that not ALL people from Saudi Arabia and Libya are terrorists. First of all, all policies generalize. Secondly, you violate no American individual's rights when applying exlusionary policies to non-Americans. Third, individual rights only exist in countries that believe in them and can afford them. If we do not protect our country, rights will disappear. For individual rights to continue, those countries that support them must consider cultural rights: culturism.
Culturism is rational, scientific, necessary and fair.

The Saudis want to stay in power, so they have to play both sides of the fence. When this type of excellent intel is discovered, it forces them to do something they could have done earlier - stop the flow of jihadists. But they must do so reluctantly - first, many in their country sympathize with these guys; second, this flow of violent jihadists removes trouble-makers from their country; third, they don't mind world instability, which raises oil prices; and, finally, they hope they win.

As long as the first family is in wahhabbi back-pockets, all Saudis have to do is build more mosques and madrassas to conquer USA. The only answer is Tom Tancredo, before it is too late:

"Al Qaeda rolodex' found in Iraq, sixty percent of foreign fighters from Saudi Arabia, Libya"
I can see no reason why this kind of information should be kept secret. We should publish names, photographs, and family addresses of all those on the rolodex, accompanied by stories about their criminal and unIslamic activities.
I'm not sure what good it would do, but if there's the slightest chance a family can be embarrassed by seeing a nephew or sons picture staring at them from the daily newspaper, it might discourage other young men from joining the Jihadist cause --especially if they believe their identities might not be as secret as they would hope.
Will it do any good? I don't have the slightest idea, but what's the point of the secrecy?
If the Saudi government won't agree to allow their press to publish the information, we should tell them to find someone else to keep them in power.

The Saudi connection is easy to comprehend: geographic proximity, Sunni solidarity, and a radical Wahhabi culture embedded at home to nurture the Jihad in the hearts and minds of Saudi citizens.
Libya is a little harder to get. Qaddafi has recently reconciled with the West - at least on paper. One would suspect more Egyptians and Palestinians than Libyans. The Egyptian opposition attributes Mubarak's longevity to America...and have developed a corresponding animus towards us that transcends the usual anti-American hysteria. And the Palestinians of course despise us for our support of Israel.
Why Lybia?
at November 22, 2007 7:30 PM
"why Libya?"
one possibile explanation is that, after seeing iran & north korea getting away with thumbing their noses at the U.S. while continuing their nuclear weapons programs, qaddafi realizes what a chump he was to give up his program so easily. And he is ever so pissed.

Even so, Sheik, these Libyan jihadists resent Qadafi, and Al-Qaeda has declared war on him. I think he would be pleased if these AQ foreign legionaries never come back.

The Jihaad is real.
The trillionair sheiks pay the mullas to run the brainwashing Madrassahs to teach as many lower class and poorer middle class moslem males that to die for allah is the greatest accomplishment. They are trained from as young an age as possible...and sent out to suicide bomb for allah all over the world ...and to fight the jihaad which the trillionaire sheiks want to eliminate as many young moslem males as possible ...in order to create the greatest number of single moslem women to fill their huge harems and the huge harems of their many sons and grandsons.....a gigantic number.
The sheiks send out harem recruiters to scout for the most and best moslem females for their vast harems. These recruiters are paid well if they succeed. Also sometimes the women are drugged and brainwashed to believe they should be in harems.
That is the root cause of the jihaad.
The question is...how do we shut down all the hate-kill brainwashing Madrassahs?
Perhaps only a one world government would have such power to do that...eh?
New world order?
But one with a good and careing true democracy government which benefits everyone.
Can humanity accomplish that?
I like to think so.
Or else...maybe if this message goes all around this planet..somehow it could get real loud to the extent that it might possibly reach the ears and eyes of the unfortunate madrassah boys...maybe opening their eyes to what how and why they are being destroyed...so that the wealthy sheiks can put their potential brides into their huge harems.
Then perhaps they will opt out of jihaadism...just perhaps.

Researchers at Penn State have developed bacteria that consume any organic material and produce hydrogen, for fuel, as a result.
This is the beginning of the end of the Saudi/Opec petro-blackmail.
Smarts trump smug.

The "drop off" in foreign fighters represents a CYA move by the Saudis.
They have no problem with their citizens killing ours, but they don't want it acknowledged in public.
You know, if they're that worried about our opinion, maybe that indicates that they know something about the US-Saudi relation that we don't.
Think about it. Why should they care what we think?
I mean hell, one of those arrogant bastards just gave a sword to the freakin' Pope for crying out loud, and if that's not spitting in his eye, I don't know what is.
Modest they ain't. Subtle they ain't.
They're getting something from our good opinion of them and our guys are too dumb to identify what that is and use it to our advantage.
But Condi is hot hot hot for a "Palistinian" government in Israel.
Pathetic.

"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."
King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, Jeddeh 1993
That's what the Saudis think of the West. And these creeps are supposed to be our allies.

FINALLY...
someone actually said it...the REAL reason the pollsters don't want to admit it, and REAL scoop behind why more Americans are upset about the war, and it's NOT simply because we're there, like the islamicommie peaceniks would like everyone to think,
OR that we're "too ruthless"...
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=6D904995-6FED-4180-B66B-058D41362746
...but that it's not ruthless ENOUGH.
The leftist pollsters knew this fact, but refused to make any distinction since their goal isn't facts or GETTING people's opinions...but SHAPING people's opinions, thus making them not a poll at all, but just another veiled-propaganda platform.
If any poll, ANY one of them, differentiated on that one thing, their *ahem* "expert" polls would've revealed a VERY different setting than what the 5th column MSM painted...and there'd be a LOT different tune being sung.
Better late than never...and that same mistake won't be repeated this time around.
