Chutzpah Alert. "Hamas asks US to free Gaza 'ghetto,'" by Martin Chulov in The Australian (thanks to Larwyn):
THE Hamas rulers of Gaza have implored the US to bring an end to the crippling boycott of the Gaza Strip, which they have likened to the World War II siege of Warsaw's Jewish Ghetto. In the militant group's first public appeal to the US since it won democratic elections in the Palestinian Territories in January last year Hamas said yesterday it did not have "any ideological arguments with the West".
Say what? Well, I suppose after Annapolis, it isn't so farfetched to think that the West subscribes to the Hassan Al-Banna epigraph in the Hamas Charter: "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."
Hamas spokesman, Ahmed Yousef, said the group had tried unsuccessfully many times to directly contact US and European Union officials.
Sorry, Ahmed, but I doubt that, particularly when it comes to the EU, where I am sure you wouldn't have to work hard to find a number of people eager to take your call.
Israeli Government sources also claim that deposed Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniya attempted to contact officials in Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office in the weeks following his poll win. However, in an open letter to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice released yesterday, Hamas made public its bid for dialogue, underscoring the increasingly desperate predicament of the leadership and of Gaza's 1.4 million residents.
Mr Yousef, who has recently urged Hamas to seek a dialogue with arch-enemy Israel, accused the US of hypocrisy for urging the Palestinian Authority to hold democratic elections for the first time in 10 years, then refusing to accept the result.
At the time of the poll result, the US expressed surprise that the Fatah party of former Palestinian President Yasser Arafat had been defeated after almost four decades of often ineffective rule.
After its emphatic electoral win, Hamas embarked on a law-and-order program, vowing to end corruption and turn the attention of the administration towards domestic affairs. But the US, the UN, the EU and Russia then launched a boycott of the new government that has intensified ever since.
Yes, a gratituitous boycott of fine, upstanding, Nixonian law-and-order advocates. Why, just look at Gaza! A model of law-and-order efficiency! And if it isn't, you know whose fault that is.
In the letter to Dr Rice, Mr Yousef said: "It is hard to get across the appalling level of (hardship) that the Palestinian people, and in particular the 1.3million Palestinians who live in Gaza, currently suffer from."Our isolation is complete, confining us in a ghetto (worse than the Jewish ghettos of Warsaw) where our sewage, power and water systems have been destroyed, all normal supplies constrained and even humanitarian aid withheld. Many people have not been paid for nearly two years, over 75 per cent are unemployed and now the Israelis are threatening to cut off fuel and power and invade us once again....
Now, why is that? Just incorrigible imperialism on the part of those wicked Israelis, who (lest we forget) voluntarily handed you Gaza on a platter within recent (however rapidly dimming, under the barrage of propaganda like this) memory? Or are your desperate conditions perhaps your own doing, because you'd rather spend your time assembling Qassams, and lobbing them at Israeli cities, rather than building infrastructure?
"You cannot preach about exporting democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan and ignore the democratic process in Palestine," the letter continues."On a personal note, we found it amusing that a black person empathises with Israeli deaths on the one hand and Palestinian segregation on the other - if media reports are accurate. It is a military occupation, Dr Rice.
Is it? If it is by any stretch of the imagination, it is made necessary by your relentless bloodlust. Yes, Rice's double-sided analogy was absurd, but mainly because it cast Palestinians as the victims of "segregation" without noting that maybe if they stopped blowing things up, they wouldn't be so segregated.
"Their citizens face insecurity and death because that is the situation they have created for themselves ... If you were even-handed in this conflict, if you engaged with us openly, then the chances of peace would dramatically increase."As it is, you are setting yourself up for failure and ... more pain and anguish for the Palestinian people, a further colonisation of our lands and a blank space in history for the Bush administration's role in making peace in the Middle East."
The "more pain and anguish" part is certainly true, and not just for the Palestinians.

More pain and anguish in Israel today as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff visited Jerusalem today to console his deserted Israeli defense comrades who Condi's State betrayed at the US-assured 'bomb Iran' meeting-point.
Hamas' benefactor Iran, now validated for their aggression strategy, will redouble fortifying their terrorism against the Zionists, newly abandoned by the US, and forced to self-dismember.

Ahmed Yousef needs to talk with Arab League, Chief Oil Tick - Water-Bearer for Western Guilt & Apologists - for a bigger chunk of the extortion: AL chief urges Palestinian aid raise(PressTv):
The Arab League chief has urged the world community to exceed a US$5.8 billion aid target sought by Mahmoud Abbas for his people. We will not miss another opportunity to screw-up further.
Trust me, baby.

Just as the blame for American and British bombing of Germany during WWII can be laid virtually entirely on the shoulders of the Nazis, so can the blame for any misery in Gaza be placed on the Islamic haters who have wished for generations now no Jewish state whatsoever. Most any deleterious condition that exists in Gaza (or throughout the Arab world for that matter) can be squarely laid upon that most pathetic, self-pitying, dysfunctional, burdensome, parasitic, annoying, tedious and overall degenerate religion known as Islam.
I'm so fed up with Islam's idiocies and blind hatreds that I condemn it additionally for my being made numb from time to time to the plight of that unfortunate child brought up in the Islamic world. Again, I say to all Muslims across the earth, deep shame on your religion. It is a colossal burden to us all. And if yours is the true faith (which not for a moment I think is the case), what does that say about God? Think it through. Give up the ghost. Stop monstrous tragedies in the name of your creed.

The fact that Gaza has a border with both Israel and Egypt tends to be ignored. Egypt apparently is not seen as a partner for growth, and consistently gets a pass, while Israel is both reviled for existing, and harangued for not doing enough to help Gaza.

Gaza - under the Israelis - economic progress, rule of law, safe streets.
Gaza - under Hamas - economic stagnation, sharia, running gun battles with Fatah.
Now we see what a "Palestinian" state would look like. When will the people in Gaza and the West Bank figure out that they would be better off under Israeli "occupation" than under Palestinian rule?

What a miserable bunch. They create the mess, their god forsakes them and now the hated infidels are called upon (as usual) to help save the cretins from themselves. And as usual, the stupid infidels will probably help them. This is why Islamania will be around forever-infidels just never learn.

Forget Gaza for a moment; just visit the Jewish part of Tel Aviv and see the modern, clean, buildings with well dressed, youth sipping sodas and merrily chatting in the cafes. Now travel only 2 km south to cross into the Arab city of Jaffa. Immediately the streets become litter-strewn and the building are gritty and in disrepair. The youth are loitering or hustling for tourist dollars while the smell of raw sewage can't be ignored. Is it the evil JOOOS who are to blame for Jaffa's third-world ambiance...or is it the product of Arab "culture"?

Once again we see the Mohammedan cultists using Jewish hagiography to further their own ends. Its a phenomena that goes all the way back to their pedophile prophet stealing from the Torah.
What would the goatphiliacs do without having Jews to despoil? Earlier they stole the Jews' labour and women, now they want their spiritual heritage. An inheritance that has been bought with so much blood and suffering.
Warsaw Ghetto, Aushwitz; is nothing sacred to the Muzzie bastards?
Obviously not.
Ban Muzzie whining now.

Mr Yousef whines (conveniently ignoring Gaza's shared border with Egypt):
"Our isolation is complete, confining us in a ghetto (worse than the Jewish ghettos of Warsaw) where our sewage, power and water systems have been destroyed, all normal supplies constrained and even humanitarian aid withheld."
The comparison with the Warsaw Ghetto is very interesting. Re-use and recycle is, it appears, the watchword with 'Palestinian' propaganda.
See Jacques Ellul, "Un Chretien Pour Israel", chapter 2, 'Propaganda', part 1, 'the means of propaganda', a foot-note on the reporting of the Lebanon War, where he draws attention to the use of this very same comparison. I quote:
(English translation: apologies for any infelicities) -
"People have even had the incredible audacity to compare Beirut and the 'magnificent Palestinian resistance', to the Warsaw ghetto (I have heard this on the TV), returning incessantly to this crushing argument: the Jews who were once the victims have now become Nazis!"
"But what an absurdity! To compare the Israeli army (out of a people of two millions) to the Nazi army (out of a people of 80 millions); to compare the Palestinians, armed like powerful divisions with tanks and artillery, to the Jews of the ghetto who had nothing. These Palestinians, supported by so many powers; whereas people left the Jews of the ghetto without help. These Palestinians, leaving with the honours of war, under French protection; whereas all the Jews [of the Warsaw ghetto] were dead. What a shameful [example of] propaganda."
It is very hard to get across, in English, the tone of Ellul's final exclamation. Perhaps Hugh might have a better alternative for my awkward attempt.
But there is no better way to dismiss, today, Yousef's whingeing and whining about the self-inflicted miseries of Gaza, his disgusting attempt to portray the murderous and fratricidal thugs and crime gangs who rule Gaza, as equivalent to the starving Jews of Warsaw, than Ellul's splendid French - 'quelle ignominie de propagande!'
In order to understand precisely how revolting is the use of this comparison both by the French media in 1982 and by Hamas today, I recommend "Mila 18", Leon Uris' fictionalised account of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, in which " the Jews of Warsaw boldly met Wehrmacht tanks with homemade weapons and bare fists". No AK 47s. No ammo. No tonnes of smuggled explosives. No sympathetic foreign media filming every battle and weeping and wailing over every casualty. Fighting like rats in the dark.

OHHH, you want us to help you. We can do that, but first, we dance. See that field over there? In three days we expect to see 60,000 weapons, all your rockets and missiles, and all military vehicles in your possession on that field. Once we haul it away we will talk about helping you. Other wise expect the noose to tighten...

"In the militant group's first public appeal to the US since it won democratic elections in the Palestinian Territories in January last year Hamas said yesterday it did not have "any ideological arguments with the West"."
Is it possible that a person qualified to be outside a mental institution could make such a complaint? Given the HAMAS charter and the consistent behavior of its thugs, what else could a sane man expect?

"...over 75 per cent are unemployed ..."
...See!....it is true ....all those street protesters you often see in Gaza....you know the ones chanting "Death to America!" "Death to Israel!", "Death to BUSH!" "America is the Great Satan!".....and the same ones seen on TV with the gnashing of teeth, clenched fists, RageBoy facial expressions....the same ones seen burning tires, burning effigies, carrying AK_47s, RPGS, pistols and other assorted weapons....All chanting Allllaaaaahhhhh Akkkkbarrrrrrr....They really ARE Unemployed.....
...It is true they would rather fight than switch....Death to the Infidel before prosperity for the people...They would rather attack the Christians before they would clean up the neighborhood, They would rather attack the Jews rather than try to co-exist with the Jews, they prefer lobbing Qassam and Katusha rockets into Israel daily rather than to try to tone down the hate rhetoric....They prefer to spead the hate as taught to them by the bearded, fingerpointing, crazed Islamic clerics who proudly hold the Qur'an in the air while proclaiming Islam will dominate, death to the Infidels....
...The thugs in Gaza have created their own hell, keep them there...
and ban Muslim Immigration....

I have a friend who designs and builds wonderfully productive greenhouses with hydroponic growing systems.
It makes me want to cry every time I see a photo on his office wall of a large Israeli built greenhouse that produced a lot of food and is no more.
Ban Islam from the USA before they drag us into the 7th century.
