Last year's Awards Banquet
Well, it's that time of the year again, my friends: nominations are hereby open for the coveted Jihad Watch annual awards!
First, the raspberries:
1. American Dhimmi of the Year 2007.
2. Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2007.
These should, of course, be those who behaved in the past year in the most pusillanimous, abject, and/or suicidally stupid ways in the face of Islamic supremacist bullying and intimidation, peaceful or violent.
Then there are the heroes:
3. American Anti-Dhimmi of the Year 2007.
4. Anti-Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2007.
I encourage you to search through the archives here -- on both the Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch sides -- and you will find many, many worthy candidates for both honor and dishonor. Please take a moment and scan back to January, or as far as you can, if you'd like to make a nomination: there are many worthies from earlier in the year who could be forgotten.
Please nominate individuals, not groups or entire nations or secret societies.
Jihad Watch staff and relatives of staff are not eligible for either the Dhimmi or the Anti-Dhimmi prizes. Yes, that means you, Hugh.
You can read about the 2006 winners here and the 2005 winners here. Alas, this year we will not have a Cox and Forkum cartoon commemorating the awards banquet, but it still promises to be a memorable event.
ADDENDUM: For your reference, here are previous winners. They can be chosen again, but you might prefer to honor others who have not yet been honored:
2005:
American Dhimmi: Ramsey Clark
Dhimmi Internationale: George Galloway
American Anti-Dhimmi: Tom Tancredo
Anti-Dhimmi Internationale: Oriana Fallaci
2006:
American Dhimmi: Jimmy Carter
Dhimmi Internationale: Jacques Chirac
American Anti-Dhimmi: John Bolton
Anti-Dhimmi Internationale: John Howard and Geert Wilders
UPDATE: I'm happy to announce that Cox and Forkum will be covering our Awards Banquet this year after all. So stay tuned.

a) I second the Michael Savage nomination,
b) perhaps to avoid a repeat of last year's ballot-box stuffing, perhaps voting should take place in a thread in which each registered participant can vote only once.

Why not Michael Savage? He didn't make my cut cuz of his cowardly appearance this year as a drunken caller on his own show after apparently having his life threatened by a Moslem(6th Pillar) during which he praised Islamic cultural acheivements and wondered how a religion of such great acheivement could degrade into current day Islam...
Wrong Michael, you yellow belly you. The architectural acheivements in Asia Minor were made before Islamic expansion dragged that region down into the subpar morass called Turkey, an unapologetic constituent of Dar al Islam.
Albanian architecture, anyone?

In May 2003 the MRAP announced it would sue Bardot for her published views. Another organisation - the "Ligue des Droits de l'Homme" (League of Human Rights) - announced they were also considering similar legal proceedings."
"On 10 June 2004 Bardot was convicted by a French court of 'inciting racial hatred' and fined 5,000 €, the fourth such conviction/fine she has faced from French courts. I nominate Condoleeza Rice for American Dhimmi of the Year 2007.
As much as I really hate to, I'm going to have to nominate Condoleeza Rice for 2007 Dhimmi of the year. Way to many times she has demonstrated a lack of knowledge of Islam, She continues to call Islam a religion of peace, she has tried to push Israel into making unreasonable concessions to the Palestinians.
How she can possibly continue to come to a conclusion that giving up land to Palestinians for the exchange of peace speaks volumes to her ignorance, or denial of the Palestinian determinations to Push Israel into the Mediteranean Sea. But the tipping point for me was when she chose to compare America's black segregation to the Israeli/ Palestinian problem. No longer could I then try to carry her water.

International anti-Dhimmi: I don't know if he'd qualify sice he's technically a Muslim... however, Jerusalem Post reporter Khalid abu Toameh should recieve an award for his honest reporting of the Islamic genocide and oppression of Christians in the PA controlled areas. Of course he'd have nothing to report if it weren't for dhimmi-traitors like Olmert.

I vote Dr. Wafa Sultan for '07 Anti-Dhimmi of the Year!
Based on this emotionally charged, powerful video recorded at the Restoration Weekend
Transcript of Dr. Wafa Sultan's speech:
Ladies and gentlemen,
I always feel a need to make fun of myself, to laugh at myself in order to cover up, to repress the sadness thats deeply implanted in my heart. Especially when it comes to speak about women in Islam.
Now I am free. But I cannot forget my neice. She was forced to marry her cousin when she was ten. He was over forty. Her marriage was valid nd legalized under Islamic Sharia, because Muhammad, the prophet of Islam married his second wife when she was six. He was over fifty.
I always remember my neice coming back to her father's house begging him not to send her back to her husband. He would say, in Islam it is shame for a woman to leave her husband's house. God will reward you for obeying him. (Dr. Sultans voice breaking with emotion) At the age of twenty five, my neice committed suicide by setting herself on fire. She was burned to death leaving four children behind her.
In 2002, the Saudi religious police stopped school girls from leaving a blazing building because they weren't wearing the correct Islamic dress.
There were about eight hundred female students in the school building when this tragedy took place. And at least fifteen girls were killed according to Saudi newspapers - which I don't believe. I believe the number was much higher. Because of that and because of many, many human tragedies that I had witnessed in the first three decades of my life, I have decided to fight Islam. Please pay attention to my statement. . . to fight Islam . Not the political Islam. Not the milittant Islam. Not the radical Islam. Not the Wahabbi Islam. But Islam itself.
I truely believe that the West has invented these terms for the sake of being politically correct. (applause)
Growing up in Syria, I have never heard, but Islam. Islam has never been misunderstood. Islam is the problem. But no one is stating the truth. No one is taking a hard look at the root of terrorism which is the brain washing machine called Islam.
Islam is not up to me, is not up to any Muslim - man or woman. Islam is exactly what the prophet Muhammad did and said. In order to understand Islam you have to read the biography of Muhammad. It is very traumatizing. It is very shocking. He married his second wife when she was six years old. He was over fifty.
I just came back from France. I debated with a Muslim Pakistani woman. She was the Minister of Women in Pakistan. When I told this fact to my audience, she turned to me and said it is a big lie. She was nine, not six.
(audience chuckles). It sounds like when a police man stops you because you are driving over one hundred miles per hour and you turn to him and say, it is a big lie, I was only driving ninety miles per hour not one hundred miles. She was nine, not six.
He married his second wife, she was his daughter in law. His son was adopted and at that time it wasn't accepted by the pre-Islamic Arabic culture. So he turned to his followers and he said, I was told by God adoption was forbidden. And adoption, believe it or not, has been forbidden in the Islamic culture just to justify his marriage of his daughter in law.
His third wife was Sophia. She was a Jewish woman. It was well documented, well written in our school books that he attacked her tribe. He killed her father, her brother, and her husband. At the same day, he slept with her. That's what I call Islam.
You need to know. You need to understand that Islam is the problem. I am sick and tired of people here in the West asking me to soften my message. I am sick and tired of people asking me, "Are you trying to change 1.3 billion people?"
Yes, I am trying! (sustained applause) Yes, I am. It is not a matter of "I am trying" . . .I WILL CHANGE THEM!
I want you to know that the very first value that I learned when I came to this great country, that, you can do the impossible if you truely believe in yourself. I not only believe in myself, I believe in many million Muslim women, like Nonie Darwish and Ayaan Ali. And we are working hand in hand to change 1.3 billion Muslims.
They have to realize that they have only two choices. . . to change . . . or to be crushed. (applause)
Please, please, don't let your civilized way of thinking interfere with your defending your great country.
Please, please defend your values. Please defend your freedom. Defend the heaven you are living in. Don't take anything for granted. I don't. I enjoy every single moment of my American life.
Just walking down the street by myself , without being accused of being a whore is a bless for me.
Just chatting with my next door male neighbor, without being accused of committing adultry is a bless for me.
Having a cup of coffee at Starbucks by myself is a bless for me.
Please! Please, don't take anything for granted. Please defend this beautiful country!
My dream is to see my country, Syria as free as America - not the other way around. (applause)
When I was in Syria, I cried a lot. Now that I am free, I still cry, and much harder for those women whom I left behind . My dream of one day having all of them free should be the dream of all humanity.
Thank you so much. God bless you. God bless America.
God bless and protect Dr. Wafa Sultan.

This is very difficult, there are more self important visible dhimmi's, than there are self important anti-dhimmi's. Many very effective ant-dhimmis are quiet, work from the background and are often unsung hero's. While dhimmi's are alway noisy and in your face. The problem is in splitting hairs. I can't say that Ali Sina is a better Anti-dhimmi than Wafa Sultan, or that of Wilders compared to Hersi Ali. All those people and others not named, are worthy of recognition of anti-dhimmi of the year.
The list of dhimmis is much longer, there are so many worthy dhimmi's it staggers the mind. Shall I vote for a dhimmi that seems to have done the most political damage? Bush/Rice/Pelosi/Olmert, etc or for the one who is most absurd, Rosie, Sean Penn, Dennis Kuchinich...
I am going to vote for Wafa Sultan as anti-dhimmi for two reasons, She is right, and her talk on youtube broke a record for views. Andrew Whitehead for maintaining his Anti-CAIR website and skillfully fighting off CAIRS legal wolves.

I have to add my nomination for American dhimmi to Condoleeza Rice.
Her behavior at the Munich - er. Annapolis - meeting was disgraceful, making the Israelis go in through the back door.
And because Olmert did go in through the back door, instead of insisting he go in the front or not at all, he gets my nomination for international dhimmi.

American Dhimmi: (toss-up)
1) any of the Presidential candidates who won't call the spade th spade it is (both parties included, since the right wingers are simply too afraid to call it is, unlike their counterparts on the left who seem more willing accomplices to varying degrees),
2) any of these loons whose hypocrisy knows no bounds...
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59171
or
3) anyone tagged in this book
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=0ADC3041-E624-45A4-B608-E5C9DEB99079
take your pick...OR...
one running for first:
4) Cindy Sheehan, for THIS!
http://www.insidebayarea.com/ci_7682050?source=rss
Sheehan may not count since she's an outright aider and abettor of the enemy anyway.
Dhimmi Internationale: (toss-up)
1) Ken "RED" Livingstone ('nuf sed)
or
2) that PC assclown masquerading as an archbishop, rowan williams
I'm leaning towards #2 since "RED" is an outright aider and abettor of the enemy instead.
American Anti-Dhimmi: (toss-up)
1) Michael Savage ('nuf sed),
2) Dr Jack Wheeler, for his works in exposing the fraudulent cult for the fraudulent cult it IS:

Yes, I see that nominating groups are discouraged but let me make this point: The John Doe(s) et. al. in the US Airways acted TOGETHER. Remember Flight 93? We need to act rationally and in unison. Fear, shyness, and political correctness stymies the ability of an individual to speak out against a wrong. We are strongest when we are looking out for each other.

Mark Steyn's "America Alone" is the best book I have ever read that explains how and why the free world is in the danger its in. It's a demographer's delight AND nightmare.
Dr. Savage essentially began the national debate on the air regarding "Islamofascism" (a term he invented). His court battle against CAIR should elevate him to top American Anti-Dhimmi status.

But a big "no" on Michael Savage. As much as I agree with his fight against CAIR, I suspect many of the posters here have not heard his show. It is a terrible mix of plugs for bogus health remedies "ah, I can feel my throat clearing right now", self-contradicting arguments, and hysterical rants that undermine the notion of a superior Western Civilization.
To be supported against CAIR: definitely.
A hero: definitely not.
With friends like him, Vlaams Belanj, Gates of Vienna, or Fjordman, who needs enemies?

Dhimmi Internationale : Has to go to the UK Labour party (our government) for their absolute and sustained dhimmitude over the last ten years. For the "covenant of security" which has turned my country into a jihad training and recruitment base. And for the threat to the rest of the world that this "look after number one" policy has caused.
Individually
Dhimmi Male (UK) goes to Kenneth Livingstone. Supporter of terrorists te world over. What scum.
OR
Jack Straw. For his undying support of everything anti-western and his secret love of Islamism and Islam.
It is so difficult, as a British citizen, to seperate all the dhimmis in my country. Hence the nomination for our government.
at December 14, 2007 2:26 PM
Anti Dhimmi male (UK) has to go to Richard Littlejohn.
Anti Dhimmi female (UK) goes to Melanie Phillips.
Both of the Daily Mail and both unafraid of the pathetic PC culture of my crappy country. True Anti-Dhimmis.

HEy davemate!
Chin up me ol' Mucker!
Yes, things are Very bad in the UK right now. But things are looking up. At least as far as distaste for Nu-labour goes. I subscribe to the guardian and i read their comment section called "comment is free" on the web. It seems a LOT of people are fed up with the "big brother" policies of Nu-lab. They are fed up with Londonistan. Jack Straw recently posted an article about how much 'progress' labour has made in the area of "human rights" in the UK and he basically got pounced on by 99% the readers, not just some right wingers who happened to be browsing a left wing paper.

Abu, I have to agree with you somewhat but I gave him the kudos because of his huzpa to fight CAIR. He has, once too often, said too much about muslim's family values. Well, if 'honor killings' for whatever reason the males of a family has to kill their own, or beat their own, or even disfigure their own, is 'family values' well - those family values leave a lot to be desired. And having more than one wife with an uncontrolled number of kids is good for the 'family' that is also questionable.
I listed him because of his taking on CAIR. I hope that he wakes up to what islam is all about and rethink their 'family values' statements.

I guess I just needed a break from bad news, so I only focused on anti-dhimmis today. Here are some I haven't seen mentioned yet that I think are deserving of nominations.
American Anti-dhimmis:
- Audrey Hudson of the Washington Times, whose un-PC coverage of CAIR resulted in her being refused admittance to one of their press conferences.
- Rachel Ehrenfeld for not backing down from Saudi billionaire/terrorist funder Khalid bin Mahfouz.
- Debra Burlingame for keeping the pressure on the US Congress.
International Anti-dhimmi:
- Philippe Karsenty of France for exposing the Al Durah fraud.

Yes, Ehud Olmert probably classifies as Dhimmi Internationale.
For anti-dhimmi internationale - perhaps there should be an honorable mention for John Henshaw, of Hardcash Productions, who did that UK program, "Undercover Mosque"?
For America: you need a 'local hero' subsection in the anti-dhimmi awards. I recall, not long ago, that there was a story here about a (black?) pastor in Florida who was fighting to prevent the erection of a mosque in his 'patch' - a suburb full of precisely those vulnerable and damaged people who are targeted by dawa and end up as Jihad fodder. If he's still sticking to his legal and spiritual guns, then I would nominate him for anti-dhimmi.
I'll leave the Americans to decide who's grovelled the worst, of their fellow citizens.
To cover people like Khaled Abu Toameh, people who still identify as Muslim but nevertheless appear by their actions to consistently pursue what is right and decent, and to clearly criticise acts of dhimmification of others, in a situation where it would be much easier and safer for them to follow the 'official' line, there could be a separate category altogether - call it the Human Conscience award? The Bangladeshi journalist, Salah ad din Choudury - the one who got into such terrible trouble for wanting to visit Israel, and arguing that Bangladesh should open diplomatic relations with Israel - would be another suitable candidate.

Dhimmi, US: Condi Rice, after the Annapolis fiasco.
Dhimmi, International: Freddy Thielemans, the Mayor of Brussels who allows Islamists to protest illegally but not MPs of the Belgian Parliament (and will violently arrest them if they're members of Vlaams Belang and quietly talking to the press during the SIOE 9/11 rally).
Anti-Dhimmi, US: Rex Duncan, for rejecting the Koran in Oklahoma by stating "Most Oklahomans do not endorse the idea of killing innocent women and children in the name of theology."
Anti-Dhimmi, International: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, for continually standing up to the violent face of Islam, the EUSSR, and everyone else who refuses to listen to her.

Internationale Anti-dhimmi: Ayaan Hirsi Ali (for having more guts then almost all muslim males put together (and many non-muslim males)
American dhimmi: the Bush-Clinton oligarchy - 28 plus years old now - for allowing the barbarians inside the gate (Wm.J. Clinton allowed c.a.i.r. in in 1995) and G.W. Bush for allowing them to stay, grow, continue, unhindered -when he could have easily had them thrown outside the gate - G.W. I would like to second "Greek Fire"'s nominations. Except for the American Dhimmi: I would like to change my vote from his to Dr. Condoleeza Rice. She deserves to receive it for her meritorious efforts on behalf of the Ummah.
All the others richly deserve their awards.

Hi there, long time no see. I have been offline for months thanks to the brilliant service provided by that wonderful company, British Telecom (may all its managers end up in Saudi jails).
I have a nomination for International Dhimmi: the city fathers and city police (not the national police) of Reggio Emilia, Italy. In this ancient "red" town, the city police have been notified not to enforce the laws concerning food preparation, health and safety, cruelty to animals, and neighbourhood nuisance, in the matter of the widely unpopular (among native Italian) habit of Muslim immigrants to slaughter goats at home for religious reasons. These are the same people who are trying - even in Italy! - to drive Christ from Christmas. But where Muslims are concerned, dozens of national and local laws must not be applied. Beneath contempt.

American Anti-Dhimmi: David Horowitz*
Intl Anti-Dhimmi: Benedict XVI*!
*I nominate David Horowitz as representative for all who organized and participated in Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week (IFAW) which was such a great success. This event presented the facts to a new group of young Americans who will form the vanguard against Jihad as the long war progresses. Our student body in the American Academy is the most important group of anti-jihadists by far.
*!He's just getting started.

I admit that I cheated in giving Ayaan Hirsi Ali US citizenship: I did so in order to give the anti-dhimmi award to Bishop Nazir-Ali, who is rapidly turning into a modern-day British hero.
Kudos to Martin Amis though. I forgot about his contribution to the war effort.
I stand by my decision to nominate the Koran-quoting judge, Christa Datz-Winter, who raised the bar of craven euro-dhimmitude to an all-time high.

duh_swami: I can't even remember what you said, I argue with people all the time. I do think that some people here have a tendency to confuse Islam (essentially bad, visibly disastrous in its results) with Muslims (people, some of whom are capable of decency and more). It is important not to start thinking as Mohammed wanted his followers to think - all Jews and Christians are your enemies, essentially, inevitably. That is my view, at least. I do not think an enemy can be beaten by becoming more like them. But Islam and all its works, its effects on the mind and on society, I completely reject. I think it is ruinous for practically everyone who practices it, and incidentally since the last time I posted, one of my Muslim friends has come up slap bang against the most vicious prejudice in the most unexpected place. This person feels hurt and betrayed, but one day she will understand that it is the nature of the thing.

For the American Dhimmi..... Condi Rice is the runaway winner this year
International Dhimmi.... With so many qualified candidates....might have to go with a Tony Blair
American Anti-Dhimmi......I think that John Bolton has earned those honours again
International Anti-Dhimmi......This is a tough one because there are so many that are deserving of this....Ayan Hirsi has been vocal this year, making a good showing, however, those unsung heroes behind the scenes....such as a Caroline Glick. Depends on the criteria I suppose, so if you go by who made the most anti dhimmi noise...probably Ayan this year.

For comparing our Founding Fathers with the Palestinians, for officially sanctioning a ‘No Jews Allowed’ door, and for selling Western pluralism out in an effort to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, Condoleeza Rice should be the Dhimmi of the Year.
Anti-Dhimmi: Savage, who has to walk the line to keep within broadcasting rules. And, if he wins, will probably plug Jihadwatch and increase awareness further.

I nominate as
Ddhimmi of the year USA - Condoleeza Rice
Dhimmi Internationale - the traitorous Ehud Olmert
I nominate as
Anti-Dhimmi of the year USA - Newt Gingrich (who last month made a brilliant, almost Churchillian, speech on the fact that we, the free world, are at war with Islam).
Anti-Dhimmi Internationale - Melanie Phillips (English columnist and writer).
