"We are not extremists, radicals or terrorists. We are only servants of Allah." He said it.
"Guilty Pleas Seen in Calif. Terror Case," by Gillian Flaccus for Associated Press (thanks to Block Ness):
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Two of four men accused of plotting attacks on Southern California military sites and Jewish targets have agreed to plead guilty to terrorism conspiracy charges, prosecutors said.Kevin James and Levar Haley Washington were set to enter the pleas Friday in federal court in Santa Ana, the U.S. attorney's office said in a statement. Both were indicted in 2005 on federal charges including conspiring to wage war against the U.S. government through terrorism.
Authorities claimed that the plot was hatched in prison and that James, Washington and two others were a cell of radical Muslims planning attacks on military facilities, synagogues and other sites in the Los Angeles area.
Prosecutors assert that James even prepared a press release that the men planned to send out after an attack.
"This incident is the first in a series of incidents to come in a plight to defend and propagate traditional Islam in its purity," James allegedly wrote. "We are not extremists, radicals or terrorists. We are only servants of Allah."

Right from the horses mouth...

Here again, straight from the horse's mouth. Followers of mohammed once again stating that they aren't extremists, radicals, etc., just following allah's will. However when a person of a non-islamic affiliation states the obvious, in come the slurs. It almost makes one want to throw up their arms and say "Forget it." But being an ardent, unapologetic American, that'll only happen when they shovel the last bit of dirt on my cold corpse. Wake up America and the rest of the world.

Proving once again that just about the best ally for those of us who have such a low opinion of Islam is ironically Islam itself. It can't help revealing on innumerable occasions that the term "Muslim extremist" is redundant.

They used the word incident - they should have used the word crime.
Servants of Allah spreading Islamic purity - call them Islamic Purists or Puritans? I do not recall hearing the words "hard core" until the Vietnam War. Some Viet Cong military units and saboteurs were called Hard Core. Hard Core Muslim would be a good monicker to hang on these kinds of Mohammedans.

"We are not extremists, radicals or terrorists. We are only servants of Allah."
That's exactly what the West does not understand, and cannot comprehend, at all.
Are you listening Condi?

Democracy Broadcasting News - Backgrounder
Gregory Patterson, 21, took classes at El Camino College and California State University, Northridge, and still lived at home with his parents, both community college employees. A former Catholic school student described by his acquaintances as bookish and quiet, Patterson fell in love with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and converted three years ago.
Hammad Samana, 21, was raised a Muslim in Pakistan and moved with his family five years ago to an apartment in Inglewood. He worked at a Barnes & Noble bookstore, attended Santa Monica College, played cricket and ran cross-country.
Despite their different backgrounds, the three young men shared a faith took them to the Jamat-e-Masjidul Islam mosque, across the street from Samana's apartment, three months ago. Authorities allege that their meeting at the mosque was a key moment in a complex conspiracy that had its roots 400 miles away at a state prison in Folsom.
There, Kevin James dreamed up the idea of attacking targets in southern California and urged Washington, then a fellow prisoner, to implement the plan when released in November 2004, the indictment said. Prison officials years ago marked James as a radical Muslim and a security threat, and transferred him from another state prison after he allegedly founded a prison gang called Jamiyyat Ul Islam Is Saheeh, or the Assembly of Authentic Islam. Authorities say the group espoused such a violent interpretation of the Koran that they scattered its followers across the state prison system in hopes of squelching the movement.
The alleged actions of Samana and Patterson troubles officials because neither man had criminal records. But they said they are equally troubled that James and Washington were allegedly able hatch the plot at a state prison -- without any apparent ties to international terrorist organizations.
James, who also went by several aliases including Shakyh Shahaab Murshid and Abdul-Wahid Ash-Sheena, "emerged from the Nation of Islam," said one official, who declined to be identified because of the government's ban on speaking publicly about the case. "He decided they were not radical enough."
The Nation of Islam, led by Louis Farrakhan, is one of the largest Muslim sects in U.S. prisons, though it differs from orthodox Islam in its adherence to the teachings of the late black separatist, Elijah Muhammad. Although the group has been criticized in the past for harshly condemning the U.S. government and making anti-Semitic remarks, it publicly opposes terrorism.
Kevin James created Jamiyyat Ul Islam Is Saheeh, or JIS, while in prison at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, according to investigators. James bolstered his Islamist credentials by claiming to have spent time in Sudan, sources close to the investigation said.
He clandestinely distributed a protocol for his organization that justified attacks on "enemies of Islam" including the U.S. government, Jews, supporters of Israel and other "infidels," the indictment said.
In separate news, under wide public pressure, the LAPD was forced to withdraw its plan to develop greater understanding of potential radicalization among the Southern California Islamic community.

In a "plight to defend and propagate traditional Islam..."
What the heck does that mean? Did he mean "plot"?
Did he mean "fight"?

Note the mix of jihad wannabes. One dyed-in-the-wool Pakistani Muslim, born and bred in a briar patch, bre'r fox; one (I assume) white Anglo 'intellectual' convert of Catholic background. Neither of these two sounds poor or desperate or ill-educated, neither had a criminal record. Then, two black converts, jailbirds, one leaving Nation of Islam for the 'real thing', much as others graduate from pot to crack or heroin. Yet: they got together, they plotted together.
Do no prison wardens and prison governors read the Quran? Really READ it? Is no one telling them to read Surah 9, or not even that, just 9:5, and telling them that an awful lot of pious Muslims really do take it really, really seriously?
They can't work out how the two prisoners ran a jihad organisation? How about they take a good, long look at the activities of Muslim 'prison chaplains' and prayer leaders? Surely they bug, or eavesdrop on, their conversations with their fellow-believers who are in prison?
Every governor of every major prison in the non-Muslim world needs "The Truth About Muhammad", and the "PIG to Islam and the Crusades" - with a pre-bookmarked copy of the Quran so he can find all the nasty verses for himself.

In Singapore, all conversions to Islam are officially registered. We don't have laws like that in Australia or the USA or India. Perhaps we should.
But, since we don't yet: non-Muslim parents everywhere in the non-Muslim world, be it the UK, India, Russia, Australia, USA. If your child announces he or she has converted to Islam - drop a quiet word in the ear of the local police, and National Security. Just to let them know. Find out what mosque your kid attends. Sus it out. And if your kid starts acting strange, after that conversion: take notes; if they act REAL strange, tell the police!
If your daughter, or, especially, your son, insists on shacking up with, or actually marrying, a Muslim, be very, very wary. Know that under Muslim custom your son must convert to Islam in order to marry a Muslima. Know that although this does not apply to your daughter, under Muslim custom and 'law' her husband will have sole and absolute custody of any children. Know also that your daughter will come under huge pressure to Islamise. And if she does...more than one female convert to Islam, in recent years, has become jihad fodder, even going so far as to become a suicide murderer.
Trust your instincts. If you see anything, anything at all that feels wrong, in your child's behaviour, after their conversion, TELL THE POLICE!

"We are not extremists, radicals or terrorists. We are only servants of Allah."
Bin Laden would say the same and the non-Muslim world should listen and think. This is why Islam is the most dangerous zombie cult on the planet since the cult of Stalin.

In a "plight to defend and propagate traditional Islam..."
Okay, never mind. It took a while for a second meaning of the word "plight" to come to the surface.
He must mean 'plight' as in 'promise'.

Abscedere: actually, the word "plight" originally had a range of meanings from "duty" to "social condition" to "condition", which is the only one it has kept - in a bad meaning, that is, poor condition. (This is the destiny of a range of Anglo-Saxon words: "craft" originally meant power, "strength" cames from a word for "cruelty, aggression", "leek" was originally an onion, "silly" meant "blessed", etc. They all tended to become weakened in their meaning under the impact of Norman French.) The meaning is still quite clear in the German equivalent, "Pflicht"; for instance, "es ist mein Pflicht" can mean "think nothing of it, it was my duty".
I find it rather curious, however, that an American high school kid, a couple of jailbirds, and a Pakistani immigrant should be able to resurrect an ancient meaning in such a learned way. I would rather put it down to mere error. After all, whatever the word may have meant a thousand years ago, there is no doubt what most decent English speakers mean by it now.
