"Long live the Islamic state"

Yes, long live the blood-spattered Islamic state, ruling by terror and intimidation. In reality, such states and such groups will live only as long as the human spirit is cowed into submission, and not a second longer.

BAGHDAD - Blood-splotches on walls, chains hanging from a ceiling and swords on the killing floor — the artifacts left a disturbing tale of brutalities inside a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq torture chamber. But there was yet another chilling fact outside the dirt-floor dungeon. Villagers say they knew about the torment but were too intimidated by extremists to tell authorities until now.

What kind of extremists? Christian fundamentalists? Ron Paulians? Raw food faddists?

Stories such as these — claims of insurgent abuses and the silence of frightened Iraqis — have emerged with increasing frequency and clarity recently as U.S.-led forces push deeper into former extremist fiefdoms and forge alliances with tribes seeking to reclaim their regions.

The reports and tips now pouring in build a harrowing portrait of rule under al-Qaida and its backers: mass graves, ruthless punishments, self-styled Islamic courts ordering summary executions.

Such a lead brought soldiers earlier this month to the hidden room in Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Thursday. Graffiti on the building proclaimed "Long Live the Islamic State" — a reference to the Islamic governance, or caliphate, sought in Iraq by Sunni extremist groups that include al-Qaida.

Scrawled in white paint above a bed in the torture area was a Quranic phrase in Arabic normally used to welcome a guest. But the context suggested only sadistic mockery: "Come in, you are safe."

The floor was littered with food wrappers, plastic soda bottles and electric cables that snaked to a metal bed frame, presumably where detainees were shocked, according to the U.S. account of the discovery during a Dec. 8-11 mission.

The rooms "had chains, a bed — an iron bed that was still connected to a battery — knives and swords that were still covered in blood," said U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Mark P. Hertling, the top U.S. commander in northern Iraq.

Nearby were nine mass graves containing the remains of 26 people, he said.

Villagers knew about the torture site, but did not tell authorities as they were afraid of reprisals from the militants, a local policeman told The Associated Press. He spoke on condition of anonymity as he was still afraid of being targeted by extremists.

I hope the U.S. congress will have hearings on what war crimes muslim extremists have engaged in and make an inquiry into why these happen and what can be done to stop it. Hearings on islamic atrocities would seem to me to be more important for legislative hearings than having congressional hearings on how to protect this vermin. It unfathomable to me that Pelosi, Murtha and Kennedy worry more about interrogation,three square hallal meals; conjugal visits with all their wives & welfare payments for their families, rather than to protect Americans first. No to welfare payments for undocumented jihadi!

Muslims need to be liberated from Radical Jihadist Islamofacists.

Clearly, more Iraqis than not say YES.

This is incomprehensible. Liberty and death mean the same thing to a Muslim. Submission is life.

Variation on a theme. In WWII Germany, Allied soldiers forced neighboring villagers to come in and bury the bodies of the prisoners at the death camps which the villagers claimed to have no knowledge of their existence.

It just takes one villager to tell one U.S. soldier or Iraqi policeman. Even by anonymous phone call.

The "vast majority" of "moderate Muslims" strikes again. By their silence, they have shown their alliagence once again.

it is a bit difficult to find the wording of the document, but this is a proposal from 2006 so it shouldn't vary too much, if you are traveling on an airplane take out the puke bag and if you are at home go and fetch a bucket. I don't know about you but this seems to be an attack on those pesky Danes. Allah forbid. I especially like the use of the phrase (or any other religion;) We had better use this otherwise they will think we are, how can I put it not inclusive.
Well to put it frankly they are not because no other religion is mentioned by name. This document is Islam in victim mode with turbo charge.

America will most likely give this the middle finger but we poor buggers in Europe are most likely going to be shafted. Legislation is in the pipeline for laws against xenophobia and racial hatred. If these become law, I can assure you they will give the E.U. The power to decide what is xenophobia or racial and religious hatred. It will also give them the power to prosecute anybody and anything that they deem so. They have covered all the corners because if it becomes law, they could quite lawfully put me in prison, make me a non person and bankrupt me, so draconian are these new proposals. What for you may ask for simple posting a comment on this Blogg. I am not joking. I would also like to ask any Lawyers among the readers, what are the chances of a WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) getting asylum in the land of the free in a couple of years time. Good advice costs a lot of money but it would be nice to get a free judgement before I fork out a lot of money. By the way before I forget myself ( Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ) to all who live in the land of the free before it gets banded by the thought police here in Europe and I have to say have a nice Winter break.

I must admit that as an Englishman, I have a soft spot for America. Congratulations America you have not done a bad job, considering the material we sent you, religious fanatics ( pilgrim fathers) and convicts. Concerning the later I must also take my hat off to Australia. Congratulations Australia like America you deserve it. Our greatest problem with our emigration policy is that we never deported the aristocracy. The rich don't tend to have the urge to emigrate the way the poor do, it has been a curse that afflicts us even now.
I would also like to comment on how this U.N. Inhuman rights committee works. I might be wrong on a few minor details but I am dammed if I am going to spend a few hours going back checking my facts . It consists as far as I know of 47 countries of which 16 are Muslim. Decisions are by majority vote. This means that any Block that gets 24 votes gets the Barbie Doll. This is where the committee is loaded, you can bet your life that the Muslim countries will vote as a block. Now consider the remaining 31 countries. Taking an average 15 will vote for or against any proposal that the muslims put forward. Muslims win. Now consider even if you had a group against and proposals that the Muslims put forward all the Muslims have got to do is convince 8 countries out of 31 to vote for them, roughly 25% of the rest and they get the proposal through. I am not suggesting that corruption is part and parcel of the U.N. Heaven forbid that I would be so crass as to mention the food for oil scandal, such things would never enter my mind. Unfortunately I have lived for many years in the middle east, and I know how flexible they can be when they want to be accommodating. Numbered Swiss bank accounts are still just numbers and anybody who tries to get behind those no. is wasting his time. I will leave it to the mathematically en dowered to work out the chance of getting through a proposal that the muslim block thought was inimitable to what they wanted. Once again a Merry Xmas and and expect more of this crap in the Happy New year.

Torture: the official sport of Islam. Have you tortured a dhimmi today? Why do so many in the West hesitate to acknowledge how psycologicaly disturbed someone must be to engage in this activity. This is not a matter of misunderstanding muslim culture, there can be no possible justification for torture (real blood and guts torture that is, not the mind game we call waterboarding).
