Savage suit: CAIR "has consistently sought to silence opponents of violent terror through economic blackmail, frivolous but costly lawsuits, threats of lawsuits and abuses of the legal system"

Savage's CAIR suit is heating up. "Michael Savage lawsuit links CAIR to 9/11 plot," from WorldNetDaily.com (thanks to Doug):

WASHINGTON – It's no longer just a charge of copyright violation in the case of Michael Savage v. Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Now the radio talk star is going for the legal jugular in his battle with the group that bills itself as a Muslim civil rights organization.

The San Francisco-based talker has amended his lawsuit against CAIR for misusing audio clips of his show as part of a boycott campaign against his three-hour daily program to include charges the group "has consistently sought to silence opponents of violent terror through economic blackmail, frivolous but costly lawsuits, threats of lawsuits and abuses of the legal system."

The amended lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Northern California, also charges CAIR with using extortion, threats, abuse of the court system, and obtaining money via interstate commerce under false and fraudulent circumstances – calling it a "political vehicle of international terrorism" and even linking the group with support of al-Qaida.

The federal government recently named CAIR, based in Washington, D.C., as an unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged scheme to funnel $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas.

And as WND has reported, CAIR has been associated with a disturbing number of convicted terrorists or felons in terrorism probes, as well as suspected terrorists and active targets of terrorism investigations.

"Groups like CAIR have a proven record of senior officials being indicted and either imprisoned or deported from the United States," said U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., co-founder of the House Anti-Terrorism/Jihad Caucus.

Savage and celebrity civil rights attorney Daniel Horowitz are attempting to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act to make the case that "CAIR and its co-conspirators have aided, abetted and materially sponsored al-Qaida and international terrorism."

CAIR launched a campaign against "The Savage Nation," as the program is called, using extended audio clips of the show to make the case that advertisers who supported the talker were actually endorsing "hate speech" against Muslims.

Savage turned the tables on the activist group by initially suing for copyright violation of the show's material. This week the suit was expanded with some of the strongest allegations ever made against CAIR publicly.

Among the charges is that CAIR is "part of a deliberately complex and deliberately confusing array of related organizations" and that its "organizational structure is part of a scheme to hide the illegal activities of the group, funding, the transfer of funds and to complicate investigation of the group."

Other highlights of the suit:

* "CAIR is not a civil rights organization and it never has been. … CAIR was and is a political organization that advocates a specific political agenda on behalf of foreign interests."

* "The copyright infringement was done to raise funds for CAIR so that it could perpetuate and continue to perform its role in the RICO conspiracy set forth in Count Two and to disseminate propaganda on behalf of foreign interests that are opposed to the continued existence of the United States of America as a free nation."

* "CAIR would have to register as a foreign agent if their activities were not hidden under the false claim that they are a civil rights organization that enjoys tax-exempt status."

* "CAIR was tied to terror from the day it was formed. The group was incorporated on or about 1994 by Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad. Both men were officers of a terror organization known as the 'Islamic Association of Palestine.'"

* "CAIR's parent group, IAP, was founded in or about 1982 by Musa Abu Marzook. Marzook was IAP's ideological leader and controlling director from the date of its founding until shortly after his deportation from the United States in 1997. At all time relevant, Marzook was an operative of, and/or affiliated with, the 'Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah,' or 'Hamas.' Hamas is an international terrorist organization."

* In 1998, "CAIR demanded the removal of a Los Angeles billboard describing Osama bin Laden as 'the sworn enemy,' asserting that this depiction [was] 'offensive to Muslims.'"

* In 1998, "CAIR denied bin Laden's responsibility for the two al-Qaida bombings of American embassies in Africa. CAIR's leader Ibrahim Hooper claimed the bombings resulted from 'misunderstandings on both sides.'"

* "On October 5, 2001, just weeks after 9/11, CAIR's New York office sent a letter to The New York Times arguing that the paper had misidentified three of the hijackers and suggesting that the attacks may have been committed by people who were impersonating Arab Muslims."

* "CAIR further exploited 9/11 as it put on its website a picture of the World Trade Center in flames and below it a call for donations that was linked to the Holy Land Foundation website." The Holy Land Foundation, the suit charges, is "a terror organization."

* "CAIR receives significant international funding. For example, in 1999 the Islamic Development Bank gave a $250,000 grant to CAIR to purchase land for a national headquarters. In 2002, the World Association for Muslim Youth, a Saudi government-funded organization, financed distributing books on Islam free of charge and an advertising campaign in American publications. This included a quarter page in USA Today each Friday, for a year, estimated to cost $1.04 million. In 2003, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal donated $500,000 to distribute the Koran and other books about Islam in the United States. In 2005, CAIR's Washington branch received a donation of $1,366,466 from a Saudi Arabian named Adnan Bogary. In 2006, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE minister of finance and industry, financed the building of a property in the U.S. to serve as an endowment for the organization. This gift is thought to generate income of approximately $3 million a year."

* "The role of CAIR and CAIR-Canada is to wage PSYOPS (psychological warfare) and disinformation activities on behalf of Wahabbi-based Islamic terrorists throughout North America. They are the intellectual 'shock troops' of Islamic terrorism."

* "The Council on American-Islamic Relations is a Muslim Brotherhood front organization. It works in the United States as a lobby against radio, television and print media journalists who dare to produce anything about Islam that is at variance with their fundamental agenda."

* "CAIR has links to both Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Terrorism expert Steven Emerson has stated before Congress that CAIR is a front for Hamas."

Read it all!

A "political vehicle of international terrorism."

There's poetry in the phrase.

I'm surprised that a lawsuit can use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act for any purpose. (Here, "to make the case that 'CAIR and its co-conspirators have aided, abetted and materially sponsored al-Qaida and international terrorism.'") Wouldn't RICO be for a Government prosecutor?

The interesting part of this is defining "civil rights organization". Can that definition be used to protect an organization which promotes ideas harmful to society and is therefore uncivil, or will the claim of being for civil rights as a sort of free speach right trump any in-depth look at the contents of its agenda? If CAIR wins, then maybe the Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan can designate themselves as civil rights organizations, becoming eligible for tax deductible contributions.

Anyone else asking “why the self-anointed “power-elites”, the US Department of Justice, the US Congress, the Department of State, the DHS, even POTUS – who all sit fat, happy, and dhimmi with billions and billions of US taxpayers’ wealth (and more from the wahabbist lobbies), and their very offices/jobs at the will of and for the people of the USA – did not to this -what has needed to be done long ago!?”
Why is it only one single private citizen (personally threatened by islamosupremacists) forced to take action on behalf of all -the majority of the USA- and a majority that agrees with what should have been done on 12 September!?

Posted by: TINBH [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 30, 2007 6:55 PM

To the devil with any fatwa. Go Savage go!

As this is most likely a civil lawsuit, the standard to determine fact is merely preponderance of evidence. In a criminal trial there is a much higher bar, namely evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Maybe Mr. Savage can start a trend.

Here's to hope -- that the jury is honest and not infiltrated by terrorist sympathizers, and that the judges ignore any Saudi armtwisting. As both of these abuses have been reported in the past, we should be on the lookout for them.

Greetings:

It's good to see an ex-patriot New Yorker reach down to his roots.

As Sean Connery told Kevin Costner in The Untouchables: "If they pull a knife, you pull a gun; if they send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morque."

The only possible downside I see is that if he succeeds, UC Berkeley will probably want its doctorate back.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share with you an obsessive idea I have for years about how to expose Islam and his wondefull teachings. Let's make a movie about the beloved prophet's life ! A sincere, faithfull to the tradition movie, to show to the whole world how mercifull is the God of Muhhamad, how beautiful is his example ! It would really be a bomb, a spiritual, honest, but devastating bomb for the muslim and dhimmi minds. The light would be finally chase the darkness, and finally there would be nobody left anaware of the greatness of Muhammad's example. We're living in a image society, and this movie would have an tremendous impact. Don't you think ?
Happy New Year 2008 after Jesus Christ

TINBH, I think you might be referring to the corrupt upper echelons of government that prefer their citizenry to be passive and ignorant. They don't want us to find out how much financial assistance that some people such as Jimmy Carter, D'souza and others of their ilk are recieving from the CAIR and wahabi lobbies. The less we know the better. There's no telling how deep this could go. Many heads could roll. I just wish we had a network that would propagate this information in full so that we could get the whole story. This could start a well needed revolution of enlightment that this country needs. You go, Mikey!

Posted by: imamerican [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 30, 2007 7:21 PM

shattehand - Have you ever seen "The Message" with Anthony Quinn? Pretty idealized, to put it mildly. It's all about the gentle Prophet and his persecuted followers. It features "There is no coercion in religion", and a statement that Jews are to be tolerated "as long as they are part of the community". Subtle, no?
An honest movie depicting the increasingly frenetic ravings and violent acts of a narcissist megalomaniac would be much more entertaining, and historically accurate. Also somewhat risky. If the actors and producers aren't murdered, CAIR will sue them. There IS coercion in moviemaking.

Just a few short years ago we would all have know what the outcome of this lawsuit would have been. But nowadays, who can tell. Our judges and leaders appear to have lost all sense of justice, and Constitutional and moral bearing that it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. Our hopes and prayers are with Dr. Savage, and all of America and what our forefathers lived and died for.

Posted by: Livinginreality [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 30, 2007 7:30 PM

Islam needs to be reclassified, and then it would be so much easier to stop its infiltration into the United States. It should be classified as a political ideology (which it is) AND a criminal enterprise (which it was right from the get go). The evidence is SO abundant to make the case about it being a political ideology that I can't envision any lawyer being able to successfully defend Islam.

Everything else should fall into place once that elemental fact is established.

While I was reading the Qur'an, I kept thinking "where does the religion come in?". I have to agree with you. Islam strikes me as a political ideology dressed (poorly) up as a religion.

Posted by: imamerican at December 30, 2007 6:34 PM

Because of two things:

1. Many who work for prominent newspapers love troublemaking groups like the sludge over at CAIR.

2. Many who work for prominent newspapers hate the United States, and will go as low as teaming up with troublemaking groups like the sludge over at CAIR, even though deep down, the sludge over at CAIR and groups like it detest those who work for prominent newspapers unless they're radical Muslims, and only use them as part of promoting their 7th century, barbaric Islamism.

Tanstaafl and Fred,

Actually, Islam was a great cover for the Arabian Mafia back in the 7th century. It was heavily involved in prostitution, extortion and drug dealing. The head of the Islamo-crime family was none other than Don Mohammad Al Ruby-Dooby himself. He had a penchant for women and little girls and to cover his crime he had his boys rough up anyone who opposed him. His boys liked the idea of being able to help themselves to any women, boys or girls that they came upon and also extorting and blackmailing the average Joe from the fruits of his hard work so Mohammad wrote up a list of things that were A-okay to do to other people if they resisted. This was similarly enforced through out the last millenium and a 1/2 and has continued to this day.

What Mohammad's gang didn't bargain for was The Untouchables, in the form of Robert Spencer and his band of merry men (and women) who value freedom and the American Way.

2008 ought to be a really interesting year.

to jewdog: Of course I've seen "The message", and I know it's a propaganda movie, made by Mustapha Akkad with the money he earned from "Halloween". Funny, isn't it ? An invented horror movie paying for hiding a really horror story ! Anyway, I don't know how it would be possible to make a movie about the real life of Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) (I was thought to pray for my ennemies), but anyway, I'm just excited by the idea to piss off one billion fanatics over the world. With the very facts they agree with. And more seriously, because everybody goes to a movie, or downloads it, but not everybody reads "the life of Muhammad", or the Coran. We have to show to the world what Muslims have in their mind when they say "Mohammed". And a movie will do in two hours a lot more than hours of discussions, and tons of publications.

I've been following the Savage saga, but I cannot for the life of me understand why Michael does not have the active and open support of other so-called conservative talk show hosts. Michael is a conservative though much more outspoken than all the rest of them. He carries no water for Bush and the political elites. However, CAIR is the enemy of all of them and their right to express their opinions, and if they had any smarts at all, they'd throw in with him and expose these bastards at CAIR, and what they are all about, to the whole world.

You really can't expect our enemies to respect us more than we respect ourselves. When groups like CAIR and various pro-Hezbollah groups and individuals are allowed to move freely within the U.S., even though the groups they support are terrorist groups, some of whom have attacked the U.S. (Hezbollah in Lebanon; Hezbollah killing of Robert Stethem in 1985). Why they are not indicted on treason if they are U.S. citizens, or arrested as enemy aliens if not only shows the world that we are not to be taken seriously, and we are not and we do not deserve to be.

Hopefully this is the first step in setting a precedent that will finally identify Islam as an outlawed organization.

If he or his lawyers are reading any of this. Put in something about the overthrow of the United States because that is what this all means politically.

Jeremiah 18:23
Yet You, O LORD, know All their deadly designs against me; Do not forgive their iniquity Or blot out their sin from Your sight. But may they be overthrown before You; Deal with them in the time of Your anger!

Think about the similarities between Islam and the Mafia:

*Both restrict the freedom of the community through violence of the threat of violence.
*Both subjugate populations and require tribute from them.
*Those who refuse to submit are driven out or killed.
*Both boil down to a pattern of felonious behavior.
*You are not allowed to leave and, if you do, the sentence is death.

The lawsuit has the potential to weaken the camp of Islam. Any RICO precedent would be huge. I just sent in some money and challenge everybody to do the same:

Even though I agree with most of what he says. I usually find Michael Savage too over the top to listen to. I find this lawsuit exciting and frightening at the same time. This would be so fantastic to have CAIR take a hit like this. However, If they manage to get an obstructionist onto the jury like they did on the case in Dallas, it could damage the cause.

Mr. Savage has my deepest respect for the courage to do this.

Shattehand,

I have had the very same thought. It would make a magnificent movie if done correctly. Every event portrayed is to be taken from the Qur’an, Hadith or Sirat, no embellishment allowed. So how about this:

Start with the poor orphan boy, mistreated and alone but determined. Then young Muhammad is offered a chance at success with a caravan owned by a rich widow. Through hard work and cunning the young man succeeds, marries Kadija and all seems well. But he is not very socially adept and not accepted by his peers in Mecca. He is still alone and yearning for something.

Muhammad begins to wander in the desert and has a vision that at first he believes is from the devil – he is terrified. Slowly his thinking changes, maybe the vision is from Allah he thinks, the one true God. As Muhammad begins to preach the new religion he is abused and laughed at. You can see the resentment and smoldering rage begin to build in the Prophet. The Meccans plot against him and plan his assassination, but at the last suspenseful minuet Muhammad escapes into the desert with a few trusted friends and then makes his way to Medina.

At first Medina seems like a glorious new beginning as he consummates his marriage to Aisha. But Muhammad and his followers are destitute and dependant on charity – not the vision of greatness that Muhammad feels is rightfully his. Muhammad slowly formulates a plan to raid the caravans from Mecca. The battle of Badr, which should have been lost - won by miracle and then the sweet revenge on the helpless captives taken in that battle.

The movie would move on to show the banishment of the Jewish Qaynuqa and Nadir tribes and division of their property among the Muslims. Muhammad’s first feeling of real power and his call for the assassination of those who speak out against him. The Battle of the Trench and the Muslim victory as the Meccan troops loose heart. Then the Murder of the men of the Qurayza tribe and beautiful Rayhana taken as a concubine by Muhammad. The permission to use deception to get close enough kill the Jew Ka’b bin al-ashraf – and the deception afterward in the claim that it was the Muslims who were wronged. The torture of Kinana b al-Rabi so he would reveal the location of treasure and the ravishing of his wife that evening by Muhammad. And so on and so on.

The effect would be similar to Darth Vader, who starts off innocent but is seduced by the dark side. Good boy gone bad – a timeless story.

Conclude with a map of the M.E. as far as Spain, to show the progress of Islamic armies, with a fore ground of battle scenes, perhaps with commentary stating dates.

This would be a very powerful teaching tool as well as very entertaining. Also pretty much a guarantee of a death fatwa from the Jihadis!

The federal government recently named CAIR, based in Washington, D.C., as an unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged scheme to funnel $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas.

Perhaps Michael Savage's lawsuit will succeed through the discovery process, and expose CAIR and associates to further litigation by the feds, and move them from un-indicted to indicted.

Among the charges is that CAIR is "part of a deliberately complex and deliberately confusing array of related organizations" and that its "organizational structure is part of a scheme to hide the illegal activities of the group, funding, the transfer of funds and to complicate investigation of the group."

The process of discovery should provide very interesting details as it untangles the 'deliberate complexity' of this cartel.

David Horowitz provides a service which exposes CAIR and it's connections via:

"Discover the Networks"

For added visualization, click the visual maps link.

I wonder, could folks like Andrew Whitehead

CAIR claimed injury to its “standing and reputation throughout the United States and elsewhere,” and sought $1 million in compensatory damages, $350,000 in punitive damages, plus legal fees and interest.

On June 20, 2005, and following submission of discovery requests by Mr. Whitehead’s counsel, Reed D. Rubinstein of Greenberg Traurig LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, seeking information regarding CAIR’s finances, its relationship to Hamas, and its ties to Saudi Arabia and other Islamic radicals, CAIR dropped nearly all of its original claims.
snip
Shortly after Mr. Whitehead’s counsel filed these papers, and shortly before a court hearing on Mr. Whitehead’s request for access to CAIR’s financial data and relationship with Hamas and Islamic radicals was to be held, the case was settled and dismissed with prejudice.

and Michael Graham

My argument was very simple. Any organization that allows terrorists to operate freely in its name; whose ideology is, rightly or wrongly, used to justify and promote terrorism; and whose membership includes, according to every international poll, hundreds of millions of devotees who suppoIrt suicide bombing — that organization has a unique problem with terrorism.

That's what I said. ABC ordered me to apologize for it. They insisted I perform community service as a form of penance for it. I told them I would never apologize for telling the truth, and they fired me.

one wonders . . . can they, as well as many others harassed by CAIR & associates in the past, join the amended lawsuit as a class action - since they suffered financially/professionally when tangling with CAIR in the past?

This lawsuit must go ahead. It must succeed.

GO SAVAGE GO!

Six years after 9/11 why is it left to a private citizen to challenge this organization that fronts for jihad?

Does anyone know how we can use the ballot box to oblige our elected officials to assume their constitutional responsibilities and do what must be done in order to insure domestic tranquility and provide for the common defense?

What city do you think good Muslims will nuke first?

Never has a lawsuit made me so happy :).

Little did CAIR suspect that when they messed with Savage, they were grabbing a tiger by the tail.
Same thing with Andy Whitehead of Anti-CAIR.
They make a fundamental mistake when they think all Americans are weak. You can't terrorize a guy like Savage, you can only pzz him off. If you listen to his show, you will understand why a pzzed off Savage is a sight to behold...

CAIR still has the recordings from Savage's show on its website. Follow the link from WND to:

Michael Savage was, as usual, harsh and loud, but I don't think he said anything that wasn't true about Islam.

I hope to god that Mr savage (my hero) has a great team of body guards.

Have to love that guy!

GO MICHAEL GO!

I am sending him some support right now :)

A purpose, a battle cry, and a lot of noise--Not a bad way to start a new year!

We are a people beleaguered by the true believers in the pagan god, Political Correctness, and by the cynical use of Islam vs the American public, by CAIR. My check is in the mail, Dr. Savage.

Go Savage, Go!

to davegreybeard: I pretty much imagined the same script. Just one more scene: the one where he orders the stoning of the adulterous jew pair, it would be so thrilling for anyone knowing the Gospel, and "the first stone" sequence.
to cinerx: I'm working somehow on this too, maybe with tools like "The Movies" or other machinima editors, it could be done better. The dream would be to have a super production like "the ten commandements". It deserves it.

For sure you gonna get a death penalty for doing this, but it's worth the risk. we should fight with the truth, otherwise we are going to have another world war. Most muslims don't know all the details of their beautiful example's life. Seeing him giving verses just to justify his desires would make them think about the holiness of their book. This would really be a way to "win hearts and minds".
Happy New year to everyone !

Daveygreybeard,

I would like so much to see such a movie, and those thoughts have passed through my mind, too.

Deus vult, my man!

justamomof4,

I like the thought of a class-action lawsuit against CAIR!

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 31, 2007 11:52 AM

I'm interested to see what happens during the discovery phase. This time, CAIR can't just drop the suit when the discovery gets too personal.

Go Michael.

Does anyone know if Savage has read "The Truth About Muhammad"?

Posted by: dumbledoresarmy [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 31, 2007 2:00 PM

If Savage wins I truly fear for his future. Islam has no recognition of the words "your wrong" or "guilty as charged". In its world, "Allah Akbar", period .
Islam decrees that Muslims are the anointed ones. Islam dictates and insists, subversion to its will.
Ide be in no doubt that a "soldier of Islam" would be "programmed" to cut short Savages sweet taste of success. This insipid Ideology goes into epileptic meltdown when they're exposed as barbaric heathens, of a despotic cult.
The only way to slay a dragon is to cut off its head!!!. Islam is the dragon. For the rest of us, we draw closer to fire or brimstone time.

"The only way to slay a dragon is to cut off its head!!!."

Perhaps there is another way - stab it in its heart, by exposing Muhammad for the murderous, lying rapist he was! Would be great if some of the Sirat and Hadith were part of the discovery.

(With you brother John C)

Deus Vult!

There seems to be little Press about the second Tiger loose in San Francisco.

Wish he'd left 911 out of it. There are just too many holes in the official story...

I have belatedly gone to CAIR’s web site to listen to some of Michael’s rants about Islam. In one segment he refers to the Qur’an as “a little book of hate” that contains “page after page after page” of hate for Christians hate for Jews and anyone else who is not a Believer.

I myself (and 99% of the people who post at this site) could easily prove these things in any kind of fair court hearing. You know the friendly folks at CAIR also know what is in their Qur’an. Yet they play this segment, ON THEIR OWN WEB SITE, because they think the idiot Kuffars cannot or will not read their book!

The sense of superiority these beings must possess is breathtaking.

Thank you, Michael, for standing up to CAIR! From much reading and people within my own family who were in the Middle East and North Africa during WWII who came back with the most hellish stories of what they witnessed happening to people in countries practicing Islam, I wonder how anyone sane could be inspired by this belief system. It is appalling. Women are so horribly treated where wahabism is practiced that anyone thinking its okay to hobknob with the men who align themselves with this antiGod regimen of mindblasting doctrine cannot be dealing with a full deck. Little boys suffer horribly under this belief system, this madness that no doctor can cure, also. No doubt about it. Look at the men who rant and rave about Islam....barking from the minarets just isn't enough for these guys. They are grossly dishonest, deceitful, lack common sense, and are overtaken by their own self-hate to such an extent that they can accept the wild, untamed, unbelievably demonic practice of blowing themselves up for the cause of spreading Islam. There is no bravery in that endeavor from the dark hole of hate. People in this spiritual condition become so physically and mentally ill by the time he or she gets to the place in their heads that blowing themselves up is okay to do to themselves and to others that it is incumbent on the rest of us to support Michael wholeheartedly before the marionettes pulling the wahabi strings behind the scenes, the CAIRdroids, if you will, get more of a rotten toehold in this great nation.
