UN force in Lebanon leaking info to Hizballah?

What a surprise! "UNIFIL leaks to Hizbullah worry IDF," by Yaakov Katz in the Jerusalem Post (thanks to all who sent this in):

A day after two Katyusha rockets struck Shlomi in the Galilee, defense officials raised concerns Wednesday that information they were regularly passing on to UNIFIL and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) was also making its way to Hizbullah.

According to the officials, the IDF regularly updates UNIFIL and the LAF on its assessments concerning Hizbullah's military buildup in southern Lebanon.

Unconnected to those concerns, on Tuesday two 107-mm. Katyusha rockets struck Shlomi. Defense officials said that an al-Qaida-inspired Palestinian group was the prime suspect in the attack.

"This is a difficult scenario," one official in Jerusalem said. "On the one hand, we count on UNIFIL and the LAF and therefore need to update them. On the other hand, there is always a concern that the information we supply them with will fall into the wrong hands."

As a result, the IDF is constantly debating the "depth" of the information it is willing to share with UNIFIL and the LAF, out of fear that due to the Lebanese Armed Forces connection, it will find its way to Hizbullah.

Time for some "counter-intelligence" and honeytraps ... no?

But there again - if the Israeli Intelligence services caught any UN personnel - it would all be denied and made out to be yet-another-zionist-plot.

Hardly surprising. Remember what Big Al Capone used to say: "Never trust nobody."
Especially thems guys.

Message to all Israelis:

WAKE UP.

The UN will betray you and crush you. The USA will sacrifice you. The marxist-EU hates you. The west has failed you and will continue to do so until you fall into the abyss. They are funding your sworn enemies who want to destroy you. Shame on them all.

WAKE UP.

Before it's too late.

The sad thing about this is nothing will be done to the UN. What fool even us Americans have become with this usless organization, when will this madness end.

This can not - should not surprise. The UN has been thoroughly corrupted.

The OIC has controlled the UN's animosity towards Israel for a very long time.

UNIFIL is simply another tainted product of the UN, whose loyalties clearly run with the OIC.

US out of UN. UN out of US.

The question is: why is Israel passing information on to the Lebanese armed forces in the first place? By revealing their intelligence, they give the Lebanese an opportunity to clean up whatever leaks there are on THEIR side.
Why should anyone be surprised that information passed on to Lebanese forces makes its way to Hezbollah when Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government?

Western Infidel:

No, I'm Lionheart currently residing in Spain, another country now accommodating muslims and the Spanish are now on their way to becoming dhimmis - again.

When will Europe, the US and Israel stand up to the Islamic jihad?

"...On the other hand, there is always a concern that the information we supply them with will fall into the wrong hands."

....ok, from time to time feed them some bogus information that is tantilating....then watch to see who reacts to the bogus information...find the source of the leak and plug it....

"By revealing their intelligence, they give the Lebanese an opportunity to clean up whatever leaks there are on THEIR side."

....I would not assume for a moment that "they" have any intention of "cleaning up leaks".

"...Defense officials said that an al-Qaida-inspired Palestinian group was the prime suspect in the attack...."

....more like "Islamic inspired Palestinian Group"...

"on Tuesday two 107-mm. Katyusha rockets struck Shlomi.""

....as usual, Muslims prefer to attack soft targets....there is nothing of military importance in Shlomi.....only civilians...the preferred target of Muslims....

The abscess on the face of the West called UN is long overdue for a surgery.

UNIFIL forces in Lebanon contain Turkish, Indonesian and Qatar troops for starters.

...Don't forget the French troops, someone once said:

"The deployment of the French troops "helps strengthen stability in Lebanon and allows the country to regain its territories through an Israeli withdrawal and the extension of state authority over all territories,"

....only someone forgot to tell the world that Israle was not occupying Lebanon (the occupiers would acutally be the Islamic terrorist groups such as Hizabollah).

...Now, the French and other UNIFIL troops did strengthen the stability in Lebanon, errr make that Terrorist stability....

....."to regain its territories through an Israeli withdrawal".....how about regaining its terrorities through a Hizabollah withdrawel....didn't happen , did it?.....

...If Lebanon has problems, Israel certainly did not cause them.....

...by the way, the French troops gleefully waved goodbye to the Israeli troops as they withdrew for Lebanon....

...without a doubt in my feeble mind...Israeli troops will one day again be visiting Lebanon, and I do not discount a theory that UNIFIL troops feed information to Hizabollah...

I would not assume for a moment that "they" have any intention of "cleaning up leaks".

exsgtbrown,

Why wouldn't you think that the Hezbollah would be interested in finding and doing away with anyone who is passing information to the IDF?

Does anyone have a copy of that letter sent by the Florida Congresswoman to Bedier?
I have it on my other computer, but it's in storage.

I would love to share it with the "old duffer" to give him an idea what a snake in the grass good old Ahmed is.

He tried to get her to support some effort of his and when when refused he attacked her Christian beliefs and sort of threatened her.
She rips him good.

"I would not assume for a moment that "they" have any intention of "cleaning up leaks".

They=Lebanonese gvt
leaks=leaks of Israeli operations information that eventually fall into Hizbollah hands....

....inferring that there may be those within the Lebanon power elite sympathizers to Hizabollah...and any infor regarding Israel learned and supposedly confidential, does indeed find its way into Hizbollahs offices...which negates any sense of security that Israel may assume to exist...

"Cleaning up Leaks"??? Get a Plummer and fix it.

The UN leak secrets?

After all, they haven't really been good at peace keeping so it's only natural that they might turn to Spy vs. Spy.

From the very start in 1978, UNIFIL were total slaves to the jihadists, first to PLO, then Hezbollah.
In a very candid newspaper interview 2 years ago, Timur Gokcel, UNIFIL spokesman for most of its history, admitted that UNIFIL is totally subordinate to Hezbollah. Not one of those "peacekeepers", no matter how high-ranking, ever dares to disobey any order from any Hezbollah, under any circumstances. Hezbollah's whim is UNIFIL's command.
