Jihad Watch Award winners 2007!

Awards2007550.jpg
Carter, Livingstone, Olmert, Spencer, Steyn, Hirsi Ali

After many snags and delays, we have at last been able to hold the Jihad Watch 2007 Awards Banquet. Hugh and I pulled out our $49.95 powder blue Wal-Mart tuxes from storage and made our way down to the abandoned movie theater at the edge of town, and watched as all the glitterati made their way in: Paris, Britney, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Lopez -- none of them could make it, but we had a splendid time anyway.

Jimmy Carter's entourage stood and cheered as, for the second year in a row, I awarded him the cringing dhimmi statuette, signifying his status as...American Dhimmi of the Year 2007! Ken Livingstone was just as proud as he accepted the Dhimmi Internationale, although his co-winner Ehud Olmert seemed somewhat sulky.

And then came Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Mark Steyn, the Anti-Dhimmis of 2007, to accept the gratitude of an embattled free people for their efforts during a year in which both suffered from dhimmi attempts to silence them -- attempts meant to ease the surrender of the West. These courageous people have not given up. And neither will we.

Cartoon courtesy David Washburn, with immense gratitude. Pictured left to right are the Dhimmis Carter, Livingstone, and Olmert; the presenter of the awards (me, that is); and the Anti-Dhimmis Steyn and Hirsi Ali.

Robert, I hope you didn't award yourself. If you did, you must've learned from a bad example.

;)

Congrats to the Winners and Piss Off to the Losers!

Ms. Ali looks beautiful!

Too bad it's too late to give Mr. Levant a special award for Righteous Civilizational Defense

Shy Guy

Of course not. I am in the picture because I'm giving the awards. I will revise the post.

Jimmy Carter's entourage stood and cheered as, for the second year in a row, he was awarded the cringing dhimmi statuette.

I was there and Jimmy Carter was clearly very proud to receive his award, he seemed to be completely clueless that it was an awful illustration of his role as betrayer of the free world.

Indeed in his acceptance speech he said

"It is difficult to describe how honoured, and yet humbled, I am to accept the American Dhimmi of the Year 2007 Statuette for the second year running. The ethos and philosophy of my approach to life is simple 'Always give up. Always Surrender.' Peace will come through the religion of peace! We must fully embrace the religion of peace. Only then can we distance ourselves from our violent and barbaric Judaeo-Christian heritage that has blighted our nation with such shameful wealth and success."

He seemed to really mean it too.

And where's Hugh, the invisible man?

The cartoon looks great! Of course, the awards are, too!

There seems to be more dhimmi's in the west than anti-dhimmi's, but idividually the dhimmi's are weak, that's why they are dhimmi's. The Anti-dhimmi's while, as yet smaller in number, are a lot stronger. David beat the heck out of Goliath.
The Spartans in the movie 300, also beat off Goliath, but Goliath eventually overwhelmed them. This overwhelming by the Goliath that is Islamic dhimmihood, won't happen to the Anti-dhimmi's, because individually they are stronger than dhimmi's, and acting as a group they are formidable.
Almost everyone who posts on this site is a strong anti-dhimmi and deserve an award for personal strength and conviction. For anti-dhimmi's everywhere, you get 'duh swami's award for perpetual
excellence'. For the dhimmi's of the world, no award, but I will recognize your existence with the middle finger salute...Put that on television...

David Washburn! How dare you depict the leader we worship, in a cartoon! Robert Spencer is not a cartoon figure! You have humiliated every infidel in the entire world. May the ticks of a thousand dogs infest your tent!

Oh, wait a minute--Carter's there too. Bummer--I was looking for an excuse to riot, but I see I have none. (sigh)

Great charicature, Mr. Washburn!

....hmmmmm, it the dhimmi trophy a statue of a person bending over for their Islamic slavemaster?....

Next year, how about an awards dinner!

What with the Golden Globe bombing (Ahmed - put down the C4, it's not that sort of bombing!) the public needs new awards shows.

It is strictly forbidden (ha'am), in Spencerdanianism [cf Dr. G. Marranci] to depict our Unholy Antiprophet in a representational human form or likeness--except when it isn't.

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 15, 2008 11:58 AM

Thank goodness the writers at jihadwatch aren't on strike!

Posted by: alexon [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 15, 2008 12:07 PM

Correction: Spencerdanism.

Spencerdanism is the ludicrous (to the extent it mimics) mocking inversion of the One True Faith of absolute, total SUBMISSION. It professes the One Objective Truth revealed by Reason Himself to His antithetically Holy Antiprophet Robert Spencer

I'm glad I'm wearing a clean shirt. Thanks you, Mr. Washburn.

Thanks, duh_swami, I'll proudly display that award prominently on my mantle. Of course I will be the only one able to see it, but it will remind me of how much fun I have reading all these posts, and how much I have learned from all of you fellow anti-dhimmi's out there around the world.

Since this is an awards ceremony and we can get all mushy, let me say:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Have Ms Ali and Mr Steyn been notified of the fact that they have received these awards, and been sent their complimentary framed copies of the above cartoon, signed by the artist?

Posted by: dumbledoresarmy [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 15, 2008 6:21 PM

The David Washburn cartoon is far better than the Cox and Forkum ones - more likeness. Though admittedly less dynamic - more going on in the previous ones.

Keep up the good work ...think you should seek sponsorship to make this a real event that can be broadcast at least online!

Posted by: dlp [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 16, 2008 10:33 AM

Bravo, David Washburn! An excellent commemoration of the glittering event!

Mr. Spencer announced that Cox and Forkum were unable to provide a cartoon for the Jihad Watch Awards at the last minute. I know a lot of JW readers were more than dissaappointed--many suggested C and F might be dhimmis of a sort themselves. While I'm not sure why they were unable to provide a cartoon, I do know that they are fighting the good fight. Check out their body of work--they are fearless!

I humbly offered my services. I am a professional illustrator of many years, but am not a caricaturist or political cartoonist. Later Robert said he had a cartoonist in mind.

Mr. Washburn is a distinguished winner of the Golden Nosey, an award bestowed by the National Caricaturist Network. (I am not joking--click on the link in the above article). It is a large and handsome, uh, golden nose.

I got to the sketch stage with my version, with Olmert and Livingstone exchanging chagrinned glances, while Cater lurks in the background, dejectedly holding both of his cringing Dhimmi statues. Mr. Spencer is at the podium, handing Ms. Hirsi Ali her hard-won award, while Mark Steyn (wearing a Canadian flag lapel pin) waves a small American flag in triumph. Hm, maybe I'll send the cartoon along after all.

It sounds like a truly gala evening, Wal-Mart tuxes or not!

Actually, I think Hugh simply can't be bothered by the creeps that Robert has to deal with all the time. Who can blame him?

This is Hugh at work against Jihad propaganda.
