Pakistani Jihad Update. "Dozens dead as Islamists capture Pakistan fort," from AFP (thanks to all who sent this in):
WANA, Pakistan (AFP) - Hundreds of Islamist militants overran a Pakistani paramilitary fort near the Afghan border Wednesday, sparking fierce fighting that left seven troops and up to 50 rebels dead, the army said.Another 20 troops were missing after insurgents armed with rocket launchers and assault rifles blasted their way into the remote outpost at Sararogha town in the rugged South Waziristan tribal district.
The area is said to be a stronghold of Baitullah Mehsud, a tribal warlord with alleged links to Al-Qaeda who is accused by the government of masterminding the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.
"Around midnight 400 miscreants attacked the Frontier Corps at Sararogha. The fort was captured by militants, we are taking stock of the situation," chief military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told AFP.
"There are reports of 40 to 50 dead miscreants, while seven personnel embraced martyrdom."
Martyrdom?

Pakistan is both a wildcard and a terrifying time bomb.

It's a tiny minority of extremists...
attacking in batallion strength...
capturing company-sized elements...
consistently defeating the central government...
If we don't destroy the Pakistani nuclear arsenal, it won't do us the same favor.

Naseem - more lying as usual. You know that the Pakistani government won't let us attack targets inside Pakistan.
Tsk, Tsk.
As Abraham Lincoln once said, "you can fool all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time."
What happens when everyone has read the Qur'an (or a translation)? Where are you going to hide?

Naseem:
I am quite surprised to hear that from you. You must clearly know that Musharaff has forbid any coalition, or American Troops from conducting any operations against AlQaeda, or Taleban across the border into Pakistan.

So in the "rugged" tribal districts the people have rocket launchers. Where did they come from, the Musharraf government, perhaps? Or were they all remnants of the war with Russia? That must be it! America sent them to Afghanistan almost thirty years ago, across those rugged mountains!

Time for a little kickbutt.
When a trained army cannot take on some ragtag civvies, there is a political agenda involved.

jawans have paid the ultimate price doing their duty....no need for that tone is there?

Naseem:
Are there Pakistanis' like yourself that would like to see coalition, and American troops come in and clean out the vestiges of Al Qeada, and Taleban insurgents? Actually I think not since recent polls have said that nearly 50 Pct of Pakistanis' support Osama Bin Laden.
Naseem --- You can't have it both ways. Osama Bin Laden and AlQaeda could care less about the every day Pakistani, he wants world power and he doesn't care how many Muslims he has to kill to get it and establish a caliphate-- He is like all the demogogues, despots, and dictators that have ruled by sharia and the tenants of the ever evolving Hadiths for over a 1,000 years.

Why does anyone even respond to Naseem....he/she's just trolling.
Musharaf should go after more lawyers and journalists as a response to the seige.

Sneakyzionistcrusader:
I think we interact with Naseem compared to some trolls that have commented here, simply because she has commented on the Jihadwatch site for years and on occasion, although rarely we do have a little bit of common ground and some interesting info that is shared our Pakistani friend.

No. They stayed on with the jihadists. Probably started the fighting from the inside to make things easier for the attackers coming in from the outside.
Kind of like having tyrky in the EU and in NATO.
Sad to know our poloticians have never heard of Troy and the Trojan Horse and the implications of it all for today.

Assuming the fatality figures of 40 to 50 terrorists, and 6 or 7 troops, are correct, it seems the troops gave a good account of themselves. At any rate the dead troops are the ones who should be enjoying their virgins in paradise, not the rebels.

The American government should not be helping the government of Pakistan. The only internal force it should be helping are the rebels fighting for a fair deal in Baluchistan, for their fight is not only just, but furthermore, it will weaken Pakistan, and Pakistan's weakening, its disintegration, is not necessarily to be deplored, just as long as the nuclear weapons are either secured, or seized, or destroyed, by Western forces -- American, Indian, or a combination of the two.
The nearly $30 billion (the newspapers do not question the figure of $10 billion routinely handed out by the American government, but they should, and they should take into account the cancellation of Pakistan's debt as well) that has been lavished by the Administration on Pakistan, meretricious Pakistan, hopelessly Muslim Pakistan, has been largely wasted. What has been achieved? Is the Taliban not revived? Is it not flourishing in the northwest frontier region of Pakistan? Is there any heartening display of loyalty, any demonstration of military efficacy, by the Pakistani troops who have been the recipients of so much American largesse? No, of course not. And there never will be. The Pakistan about which American policy has been made is a fiction, a comforting fiction where the good, loyal, tough, allies in the Pakistani army fight with us, work with us, side with us, against the Taliban, against Al Qaeda. Is that true? Is that what the last six years have demonstrated? Or have they demonstrated something quite different, and more unsettling?

The track record of Pakistanis is quite evident and much of this has been documented. Here's a slightly dated URL on Pakistani escapades - this level of terrorism is not possible without state support:
