The speech took place at Bushehr, where a nuclear plant is under construction, and mostly concerned the nuclear issue. But when you're the Thug-in-Chief, there's always room for some hateful vaporings against Israel.
More information on this story. "Ahmadinejad sees nuclear energy in Iran by 2009," by Nazila Fathi for the New York Times:
TEHRAN — President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran said Wednesday that his country would produce nuclear energy by next year and condemned Israel as a “filthy entity” that would soon collapse.
He spoke as the United Nations Security Council considered imposing new sanctions on Iran because of its refusal to halt uranium enrichment activities.
“We have been promised that we will have nuclear power this time next year in our power grid,” the ISNA news agency quoted him as saying in a speech in Bushehr, the southern city where Iran is building its first nuclear power plant.
[...]
Some Western countries and Israel have accused Iran of having a clandestine nuclear weapons program under the guise of a civilian nuclear program. Iran contends that its program is for peaceful purposes and will produce fuel for its nuclear plants.
In his speech, Mr. Ahmadinejad renewed his attack on Israel and warned Western nations to stop supporting it. “I warn you to abandon the filthy Zionist entity, which has reached the end of the line,” he said.
“It has lost its reason to be and will sooner or later fall,” he said. “The ones who still support the criminal Zionists should know that the occupiers’ days are numbered,” he said, adding that the countries that support Israel share responsibility in crimes against Palestinians.

Thus speaks the little man who so wants to be big.
The people of Israel and her supporters view your arrogance with contempt.
You have set yourself up against the God of Israel and are in grave danger, unless you repent. May God be merciful to the small Christian community in your land and any remaining Jews who may live among you. Your days are numbered, little man!

Dangerous talk from a dangerous bigot.
Messianic language from someone removed from logical thought, but at the end of the day he's just a shot away like Libbi.
I hate to say this but may his time come "soon".

“It (Israel) has lost its reason to be and will sooner or later fall,” he said.
And he is probably right.
But one may ask if that “reason” ever existed.
There were 2 reasons for Israel:
1. Establishment of a Jewish state. This was the initial reason with Jabotinsky advocating it. It did not work out and turned to become a state for the Jews.
2. Following the horrors of WW2 “never again” became another reason for Israel’s existence.
When one looks at Israel’s history in the last 60 years, one can only wander of how many mistakes the country and her people have made. Her wonderful achievements make those mistakes even more puzzling and yet, there is a simple explanation to this political suicide: a state for the Jews was a mistake. No surprise here. Many people on this blog think that Europe in trouble for only one reason – it has lost Christian identity and now losing its culture, traditions and future. EU is a super state for Europeans. There are no EU history, traditions or culture. In Israel situation is even worse. The Jews are bound together for many centuries by religion, nation and state. Two of those are inseparable and the state comes as a bonus.
In 1948 there was a choice. They made the wrong one.
To be a Jew in Israel is far more dangerous then to be a Jew in US, Europe or even Iran. So “never again” is an empty slogan. The world was ashamed following The WW2 and understood its debt to Jewish people, but Israel behaved like it was a favor and soon the world looked at Israel as it did a favor to her and started to demand gratitude(as they understood it) and when not satisfied – gets irritated and angry.
Ahmadinejad is not a danger to Israel. He plays jewish card for political reason. There are no borders with Israel and conventional war is not on. Nuclear war is not on either. It is suicide, not politics.
The real danger are the Arabs in Israel and to a lesser degree Arabs in Gaza and West Bank. And the most dangerous are the Jews themselves as long as the do not understand that if they want Israel to be like any other country, Israel has no reason to exist.

"a state for the Jews was a mistake."
Your name is apt because your anti-semitic diatribe stinks this blog out. You should read history and educate yourself about the entire history of Israel before you make such unfonded and ignorant comment.
And is a state for blacks a mistake? Is a state for Pakistanis a mistake? Is a state for Americans a mistake, after all it isn't their nation is it? What an absolutely disgraceful statement to make about a group of people, based solely on their religion, who have as much right to a homeland as anyone else. And not all Israelis are jewish - should they be denied the right to a state too?
The mistake is the cowardice of the West - and Israel at times - in repeatedly bowing to the "palestinians" and their terrorist masters because of the need for oil. In forcing Israel to continually give up its own territory to bargain for a peace that never comes - and never will - Israel's position becomes weaker and weaker.
I wonder if you'd say it is a mistake to give the "palestinians" a state? I for one most certainly would. And what about Jordan while we're at it, was the state of Jordan a mistake?
I really wish Israel would shut this insolent monkey's mouth by surgically removing his nuclear capability, the sooner the better.
I'll refrain from building my hopes up though.

"In 1948 there was a choice. They made the wrong one."
...In 1948, as in today, Palestinian suicidal self-pity prevents them from living productive and peaceful lives....the Palestinians still refuse to take the most minimal responsibility for their share of the disaster.
...The Palestinians, on more than one occassion, have been offered great deals in return for peace...
Under the Peel Commission in 1937, the Palestinians would have received 80% of the territory between the river and the sea; under the 1947 UN partition plan, 45%; under Camp David, around 20%. ...
....you may note the offers made are continually getting smaller and smaller....and it is the Palestinians who keep refusing peace and woh keep insisting on killing.....
....the only ones making the wrong choices are the Arabs and the Palestinians...
....they insist on death....which is usually the very worst decision....

This (below) cannot be pointed to enough until everybody gets it. The accusations that those who tell the truth on this matter are "hatemongers" is an appeal to emotion-not an appeal to the intellect. The Jew-hating and other manifestations of Jihad are deeply rooted in the Qu'ran and Muslim dogma. That's reality. The fact that that may make many (Muslim and non-Muslim)feel uncomfortable or embarrassed does not change the facts. It is what it is.
"The next segment of Sura 2, verses 75-105, continues the Qur’an’s criticism of the Jews. When you read statements by Hamas leaders or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about Israel, remember that they view Israel and Jews through a Qur’anic prism. They have learned, if they have studied the Qur’an at all, that the Jews are the most perverse and guilty – as well as the craftiest and most persistent – enemies of Allah, Muhammad and the Muslims"-Robert Spencer.

Ahmadinejad: "I warn you to abandon the filthy Zionist entity, which has reached the end of the line ... It has lost its reason to be and will sooner or later fall"
This is rooted in the Qu'ran and Muslim dogma. No one has any right to accuse anyone of being a "hatemonger" etc. for speaking the truth on this matter or any other matter. The fact that the truth is embarrassing to many is no reason to be silent. It is the silence re the real roots of Jihad which is killing and maiming people. It is time to face reality on this matter.

.....the common denominator is ISLAM....the most intolerant religion on the earth....Islam seeks dominance not peace, Islam seeks dominance not religios plurality, Islam seeks dominance not peaceful co-existence, Islam seeks dominance (especially male dominance) in its societies, Islam seeks to impose the draconian Shar'ia law....possibly the cruelest of all judical systems....Islam seeks submission of all who are not Muslim, Islam seeks the death of all who refuse to submit, Islam seeks to confiscate all land owned by non Muslims especially any land inhabited by Jews....when Islam fails, its adherents wallow in self-pity and is steadfast in its convictions in its refusal to accept blame for causing massive death and misery to its own people.....

Pong: The truth is that if every Jew in Israel only consisted of those Jews who fled Arab-Muslim countries (Iraq, Morocco, Syria, Iran, etc.-over one million fled to Israel) and none were from the Holocaust, the dogmas of Islam would still require that the Jews be returned to their Dhimmi status. This is about Islamic dogma. That's the issue. In many ways, the Kurds are in a similar position because of their ethnicity. However, the Jews are in more danger than the Kurds. Israel has to exist. It is Arab Islam that has to get used to non-Dhimmi Jews in the Mideast.

I wander if you are the same Lionheart Stoff is writing about on his blog. He is also puzzled by the name you chose.Below is just a small portion of what he says about Lionheart:
I believe that Lionheart has posted some things that are wrong, some that are offensive, and some that are downright stupid. However, the vast majority of what he has posted is based on his opinions which in my opinion he is free to do - assuming they aren’t slanderous or defamatory. I would however politely suggest that he posts things of which he has proof or at least reasonable cause to believe, not things based on gut-feeling, the-cousin-of-my-friend-who-has-a-dog-called-Roger-who-has-a- cousin-who-has-an-owner-called-Jim said type rumours or stereotypes.

If Arab Muslims could let go of the Islamic dogmas re Jews, and Israel could be accepted in the Mideast, Israel could be an engine of great scientific and technological (for example, the cell-phone was invented at Motorola-Israel)advances for the entire region. It is the dogmas of Islam that stand in the way of so much good in this matter. This (Islamic dogma) is the core of the conflict.

Now to address your waffle. You have made statements that deny Israel's right to exist. I don't care who you call to your support - a logical fallacy, the appeal to authority - you and anyone else who denies Israel's right to exist are absolutely and uncategorically ignorant, uneducated or jew-haters.
And for your information,I am not Jewish, that you rushed to such a conclusion speaks volumes about you. You don't have to be Jewish to show 100% support for the Jewish call for a homeland and for all Israelis to live their in peace whatever their religion.
Israel is a beacon of civilisation surrounded by hateful and murderous regimes with no regard for human rights who would dearly love to wipe Israel out. And you deny their right to exist.
What an appalling, asinine statement to make, you should be absolutely ashamed of what you have posted.
As for raised properly - maybe not but I don't have to deny the rights of a group of people to have their own homeland, a land that is their by right.

The point that Robert Spencer (and Hugh) make over and over again is that this issue cannot be resolved unless all confront the jew-hating dogmas of Islam. For sixty years we have all gone on peace hunts in the Mideast that practically amount to Elvis sightings because we refuse to confront the truth in this matter.
The problem is that many Muslims (out of malice or embarrassment) refuse to acknowledge the theological basis of such statements as "I warn you to abandon the filthy Zionist entity, which has reached the end of the line ... It has lost its reason to be and will sooner or later fall". And then there are thr apologists (from malice or fear) who wring their hands and practically say, "Don't confront this. You'll drive the "moderates" to the side of people like Ahmadinejad. Be nice."
So we are all supposed to pretend it ain't so? that Ahmadinejad is not motivated by the Qu'ran and Muslim dogma?

If there ever was a lineage of people who deserved a nation in the land of their heritage, it is the Jews. For all injustices, for all the persecution, all for all the attempts of genocide against them...for the sake of all principles of justice in this world demands for them to have their own ability to rule over themselves in freedom and power.
I'm so fed up with this apologist attitude [should one be Jewish or not] that exists. ALL Jews should be proud of the state of Israel, and all good people should proudly support them. In the face of this Islamic sickness infecting the world...all the more will I stand with Israel against them.
As a non-Jewish American...Ahmadinejad can kiss my you-know-what.

Actually, there were other reasons for Israel to exist. Jews had been the majority population in Jerusalem for 4000 years. Jews lived throughout Arabia as a tyrannized minority. Doesn't a tyrannized people have the right to self determination? i.e.- to make a state in their neighborhood when they do feel they have been tyrannized as a minority.
The big story hear is that the Jews of Arabia are like the American Indians. When Balfour announced the Jews could have autonomy back on their reservations, the Arabian Moslem immigrants promised they would kill the remaining Indians. Why should one moslem 4 wives, 56 children votes shall rule!
The real "Palestinians" in this section of Arabia are the "Palestinian Jews." The Palestinian Jews lived there before the Palestinian Arab Moslems came invading, murdering Jews in Medinah and everywhere en route from 600 onwards.
The big question here is why islam, why the religion is consistently proved to be incapable of peace, why it is the only religion incapable of peace? Be it in India, Russia, China, anywhere in Europe, in Arabia? and elsewhere?
The Palesinian refugee is a made up persona of the Arabian Moslem seeking to forbid any more Jews to return to their ancestral Arabian homeland and is designed to return the Jew to his Dhimmi status since Mohamed. Look at all the countries carved up for Arabian moslem tyrants by Balfour.
The Jewish land mass of Arabia which 1/640 th the size of the land mass of Arabia on which it sits, absorbed about 600,000 Jews from Arab countries is among the most significant yet little known injustices against humanity of the past century. For hundreds of years, and in many cases for millennial, Jews lived in countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Iran, Iraq and Yemen as dhimmis.
During this time, Jewish property was seized without compensation, Jewish quarters were sacked and looted, and cemeteries were desecrated. Synagogues, Jewish shops, schools and houses were ransacked, burned and destroyed, and hundreds of Jews were murdered in anti-Jewish riots and pogroms. Of the over 850,000 Jewish refugees who left Arab 22 Islamic paradise countries, approximately 600,000 sought refuge in the State of Israel and were resettled at Jewish expense.
Arab states refuse to acknowledge these human rights violations and provide relief to the hundreds of thousands of Jews who were forced to abandon their homes, businesses and possessions as they fled those countries.
Instead, consistent with a grand tradition of lying, they run programs on state television claiming Jews never lived in Israel; claiming Jews were never in Arabian lands claiming that as foreigners Jews have no right to self determination on their ancestral homeland.
Pong reason #3 for Israel to exist is as a homeland for a tyrannized minority and as a place where children and grandchildren of these refuges can live.
Also Pong, are you proposing to give back Israel and the rest of Arabia to Turkey as the world existed prior to Balfour Picot- Sykes agreement after World War I?
Finally, does not the fact that Israel established its independence by War constitute a justification for its existence, particularly where its war was a just war?

Why should Lionheart change his name?
The blogger Lionheart is a great person. unfortunately his name has been dragged through the mud because unfortunately he has targeted a section of the muslim community who happen to be pakistani. Yet i got bitch slapped a few days ago on here for stating this precise problem we all face. That if we criticise the muslim community we will ultimately be branded as racist.
And I was told that "who cares if I am branded a racist" etc, well you will care when you are libeled as a racist by so called allies and threatened with arrest by the authorities.
Even Charles Johnson is saying that lionheart is a racist for targeting the muslim pakistani community, who incidentally has threatened lionheart's life. (muslims not Charles)
The reason the police want to arrest him is also because lionheart wrote about the pakistani muslims.
And pong, like it or not Richard the Lionheart is a an English hero.

There is no evidence St.George ever visited England, but there is also no evidence he ever existed. So if you believe he did existed, why not to except someone’s belief he did visit England? One fairytale more or less, what’s the difference?

Typical rant from the gentleman, the trouble is that most of us here get so angry when our Governments don't denounce his stupidity. The man is mad why aren't we doing something to quarantine this fool before he blows us all up. Well firstly he is not going to listen, so why waste your time. They certainly understand the problem and have quietly been ring fencing Iran well at least the Americans have. If any of you are interested go to Google Earth and check out the massive American air field just to the west of Doha in Qatar in the Gulf, and ask yourself the question what have the Americans got stored in those bunkers with blast walls and what have they got stored under the covered plane parking lots that they don't want anybody to see from space satellites. Israel has certainly not been idle, and is certainly not in an advanced form of decay as suggested by some of the posters here. This little article popped up over the Radar a couple of days ago.
Quote:-
According to published reports Israel test fired a new missile over its central region early Thursday morning, 18 January 2008.
“There was great joy after the results of the test became clear. Whoever is watching what is happening in Israel will understand what he has to understand,” said a security source vaguely.
The country’s airspace was shut down for several hours in an effort to “squeeze” the test through without being noticed.
However, many civilians called police after having seen something in the distance.
“Israel never intended to publicize Thursday's test; it did so only under heavy pressure from the media, and even then only because the evidence was obvious to anyone who happened to be watching the sky over central Israel at the right moment..,” Haaretz wrote.
Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the test was geared towards the Iranian threat or a missile shield that would stop all incoming short-range rockets such as Qassams and Katyushas.
The IDF refused to comment on the launch, saying only everything from the launcher to the important rocket propulsion system worked successfully.
I would put money on it that they were testing their Arrow anti-ballistic missile system which has been developed jointly by the U.S.A. and Israel. I would hazard a guess that plans to counter the Mad Mullahs are in a very very advanced stage, and that they wont know if their anal orifices have been drilled punched or countersunk if they try anything. The only thing that is certain is that we are heading for a clash and he wont be around to worry about in a few years time.

Dear leon,
yes that was rather interesting wasn't it, a shipment of cement arrives from North Korea ( according to the ships manifest ) as soon as it arrives at that base the Israelis with the convenience of the American infidels flatten the place. The Syrians go into verbal diarrhea mode and then shut up after a couple of days to concentrate of covering the whole base with earth. They sure manufacture powerful cement in North Korea. What most likely happened is that the Israelis managed to get of sample of the cement, and threatened to tell the world that it wasn't genuine Portland cement, perhaps it was the additives they were using, and you know how the Muslims hate being caught out in a lie.
As for hoping to God they finish the job, I think that that will depend on what action the west takes whether it is proactive or reactive. If it is reactive then Israel will have the right under the U.N. Charter to defend itself. Then all of Iran will suffer from Atomic piles. I remember in the first Gulf War how hard the Americans had to pull on the Israeli's chain to stop them bombing Iraq after Sod Him He is Insane's Skuds started landing on Tel Aviv They had to promise the Israeli's the right to chose in the region of 10% of the targets that the coalition forces were bombing or going to bomb. I suspect this time round that no amount of chain pulling would stop them retaliating. What would be left afterwards would be a lot of holes that glowed in the dark with some rather stunned Muslims going what did you do that for we didn't do anything? We mustn't forget of cause the rather shaky world economy going into terminal decline as oil prices skyrocket. The social unrest, that would bring doesn't stand thinking about. Luckily I live deep in the country, have a well stocked cellar, and and well other things.
