He is under investigation, which is good. But what will they find? If he believes in Islam, and in Islam's death penalty for apostates, what will they do then?
"Muslim Student Threatens Former Terrorist's Life at Air Force Academy Even," from Mass Media Distribution Newswire (thanks to Hot Air):
Former terrorists Walid Shoebat, Kamal Saleem and Zak Anani addressed cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, during their annual political forum. They shared their experiences as terrorists and helped cadets understand the Islamic fundamentalist mind set.During the event a Jordanian college student, identified as Omar Khalifa of Metro International, approached Kamal Saleem and spoke to him in Arabic, "you are an enemy of Islam and you must die." The incident was reported to Military Police, who investigated Khalifa's threat.
"The men receive threats of this nature all of time and we take each one very seriously," said Keith Davies, Executive Director of the Shoebat Foundation. "That is why each of the men live in seclusion."
Numerous media outlets (New York Times, the Associated Press, The Colorado Springs Gazette, the Rocky Mountain News) did not report on the former terrorists' message, but instead focused on the [inaccurate] media statements distributed by CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations), in an all-out campaign to discredit the speakers credentials and background.
"We have all been told that Islam has been hijacked by extremists,” said Walid Shoebat. "Yet CAIR, who professes to be ‘Moderate Muslims’ are the Three Ex Terrorists biggest critics, and pull out all stops to try and keep out voices from being heard. I beg to ask the question; if CAIR is indeed moderate as they claim, then WHY are they not supporting our campaign against 'extremists? If they are sincerely against the Fundamentalist Muslim agenda why do they appose us?"
According to the Air Force Academy's public affairs office CAIR spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, contacted them numerous times criticizing the scheduling of the three men, and requesting an opportunity to have a CAIR representative share with cadets information about the Islamic faith. The Academy informed Hooper that the event was not about religion, but about terrorism, and he denied CAIR's request.
Score one for the Air Force Academy.

"to have a CAIR representative share with cadets information about the Islamic faith." --posted above
Anyone who gets their "information about Islam" from actual Muslims isn't too bright. Here are the primary sources for Truth, not Taqiyya:
1. Read the Q yourself. And the many other books available about islam/mo/quran.
2. JW/DW and other Truth sites.
3. Ex- Muslims such as Shoebat, Ibn Misr, Ali Sina, Wafa Sultan, Hirsi Ali, Nonie Darwish etc etc Also, Walid Phares - his book, "Future Jihad: Terrorist Strategies Against America" (2005).

They need to carry a small voice recorder and turn it on before every conversation, just in case, so they will have evidence to use in court.

"He is under investigation, which is good. But what will they find? If he believes in Islam, and in Islam's death penalty for apostates, what will they do then"?-Robert
Robert consistently makes the point that Muslim violence (and things like Jew-hating, etc.)are rooted in the Quran and Muslim theology and until all are honest about that we will get nowhere in terms "dialogue". These guys are not quoting from the Gospels, from the Jewish testament, the book of Mormon, etc. They are quoting the Quran and are more in the picture re "true Islam" than we want to admit. For pointing that out, Spencer and others are called "hatemongers" and worse than that.
We must all face the unpleasant reality on this and stop the bumper-sticker name-calling with people who are only bringing us unpleasant news re the roots of Jihad. We must face the reality that Muslim violence, deception, intolerance of other beliefs, are all rooted in the Quran and Muslim theology.
It is what it is.

That is so true and applies to practically every belief presented as fact. Believers are rarely objective about their dogmas.

My question is, why is Jordanian college student, identified as Omar Khalifa of Metro International, in the United States, and why is he at U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs?
9/11 obviously was not a wake-up call, and US-immigration is doing a lousy job if it still allows enemies of the US to migrate, and this guy is clearly not one of the friendlies.

So why was a Jordanian college student at the Air Force Academy in the first place?
It used to be the U.S. Air Force Academy and still retains the title, but I suppose it is more the U.N. Air Force Academy these days.
The Academy informed Hooper that the event was not about religion, but about terrorism, and he denied CAIR's request.
Score one for the Air Force? No, actually they lose ten points because the root of the problem IS religon -- islam in particular.
Actually, Hooper gets the point:
According to the Air Force Academy's public affairs office CAIR spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, contacted them numerous times criticizing the scheduling of the three men, and requesting an opportunity to have a CAIR representative share with cadets information about the Islamic faith.
Terrorism and islam cannot be separated because they are integral parts of one another; islam has NOT be highjacked by extremists. It is what it is and will remain that way.
The brass running the academy refuse to "get it" and I have no doubt that sooner or later they will require their students to raise their asses in the air five times a day as mandated by shariah law.
The only complication is how to market shariah to the public, who will buy any kind of bullshit as long as it is wrapped in a glitzy looking package and sold at a high enough price -- (the public figures that if it is really expensive, it must be valuable, so they got to have it NOW while supplies last!)
You're winning hooper, I grant you that -- but I won't be the one to congratulate you on your victory over idiots.

The Jordanian student made a threat . . why wasn't he arrested?
a Jordanian college student, identified as Omar Khalifa of Metro International
PDF of Metro International's Press Release titled
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
From the Fulbright site:
A mainstay of America’s public-diplomacy efforts, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program brings citizens of other countries to the United States for Master’s degree or Ph.D. study at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions. The program has brought some of the world’s finest minds to U.S. campuses and offers program participants insight into U.S. society and values.
Robert asks: "what will they do then?" May I suggest -->
For this act of 'diplomacy' as an attending member of this Fullbright scholar delegation, the US State Dept. and the Fulbright Commission should revoke Omar Khalifa's fellowship immediately and after charges have been filed/prosecuted/time served. ..deport.

The sinister and dark fog of fundamental Islamic practices has been weaving it way through our Western culture for many many years now, way before 9-11; we just were not paying attention as this dark fog creeped low and slowly along our proud and sovereign grounds.
Many of us still live in denial of its aggressive ideology, refusing to even open a certain book that can so easily reveal itself to the freedom loving mind that wants to preserve and protect his inalienable rights.
This Jordanian Student just stepped out of that sinister fog and revealed himself to a man who who can see that fog creeping through our cities and towns everyday, because he understands what drives it.

"a Jordanian college student, identified as Omar Khalifa of Metro International, approached Kamal Saleem and spoke to him in Arabic, "you are an enemy of Islam and you must die." The incident was reported to Military Police, who investigated Khalifa's threat."
-- from the story above
And I assume that Omar Khalifa has now, or is about to be, deported. And if he has not been, or will not be, I assume that some members of Congress will look into the matter. And I assume, further, that the admission of people from Jordan -- a country whose people (forget about the smiling king, whose coarser physique and less-oily manner have not allowed him to inherit the mantle of Western-elite-pleasing "plucky little king" from his father) are virulently anti-American -- will stop. Stop, because so many of them represent a real danger -- physical danger --as "Palestinians" -- to a great many people in this country, including, of course, brave apostates such as the three who appeared at the Air Force Academy, and one of whom was, I am certain, threatened in exactly the way he said.
When word gets around -- and it will get around, all over the Muslim world -- that such a threat, made by a single Muslim, in the United States -- led to the curtailing of immigration to the United States of many others -- that will have a salutary effect.
Just do it. Take back the INS from those who apparently think -- and who are those Arabic-speakikng staffers in Amman, and Damascus, and Cairo, who are given the power and the right to vet potential immigrants to this country? Are they Christians? Muslims? Locals whose families can be threatened? This is the most important and worrisome aspect of immigration -- those Muslim migrants who, despite all we know now, continue to be allowed to come. It's madness.

Memo to PC idiots:
We do not need foreign students in our prestigious military schools. We have enough American students to fill the ranks of students there.
When will you get it through your stupid heads that islam is not our friend, they want our country to die. Just watch any Friday "after mosque" demonstration from "palestine" or just about any moslem ruled country...get a clue.

Khalifa was with Metro International not the Air Force Academy. Stripped bare from their website, even:
"Fulbright Scholar Delegation Participate in
US Airforce Academy’s Assembly on Dismantling Terrorism New York City, February 5, 2008 – This morning at 4:30 am, a delegation of 18 Fulbright scholars and other international students met at LaGuardia Airport and boarded a plane headed for Colorado Springs, CO. They are part of an international student delegation organized by Metro International, a New York City based not for profit educational organization, to attend the Air Force Academy’s 50th Academy Assembly from February 5 to 8. This year’s Assembly topic is Dismantling Terrorism: Developing Actionable Solutions for Today’s Plague of Violence. The 18 international students, hand selected by Metro International, represent the following countries: Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Albania, Indonesia, Poland, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Scotland and Poland. They are studying at colleges and universities in the greater New York area including: New York University, the New School, Columbia University, Yale University and Rutgers University.Delegates will take part in daily round table discussions that will hopefully produce fresh, new
perspectives on the difficult question of terrorism and how best to strengthen the world against current and future threats...A report containing the suggestions devised by the student Assembly will be sent to Congress, The Department of Defense, CIA, and other academic and government institutions capable of enacting
change in international policy and counter terrorism strategy."
1. Khalifa was hand-selected (by whose hand?); 2)he will presumably be giving suggestions to Congress & the Department of Defense as how to best dismantle terrorism. After the dismantling of Kamal Saleem, even.

If he believes in Islam, and in Islam's death penalty for apostates, what will they do then?
Let him off, that's what they're gonna do.
The man has every right to practice his religions, and, as a Moslem, leveling death threats is a basic sacrament.
One of these days some American government security agency is gonna screw up and prove a Moslem's crime so clearly that everybody can see it for what it is, indubitably.
When that happens, how much double-talk will President Barack Hussein Obama gonna have to do to get the offending Moslem off?

CAIR's idea of free speech runs in only one direction--in favor of Islam.
Of course, CAIR is following the teachings of the Koran and Hadith. No criticism of Islam allowed!

How long are CAIR going to be allowed to operate?
Looks like in the US you are tied up by PC as much as we are in Blighty.
Look at Hooper, the way he operates - pestering the Air Force Academy like the sneak that he is - and in doing so he is trying to curtail and put a spanner in the works against free speech - while using the very same to do so, which we all know is a primary tactic of theirs.
Walid Shoeblat has more courage and integrity than all the members of CAIR put together, perhaps this is why Hooper is so afraid of him.

In any case at least the authorities should have another name to add to the do not fly list.

"My question is, why is Jordanian college student, identified as Omar Khalifa of Metro International, in the United States, and why is he at U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs?"
Because the official policy of the USA -- and of the entire West -- is that Islam is a good and peaceful religion and the vast majority of its adherents are good and decent people who have, in addition, the considerable advantage of being lovely Third World peoples. To even exhibit a hint of suspicion about any students, cadets, citizens or immigrants on the basis of anything even remotely to do with Islam, would be, according to this official policy, "bigoted" and "racist".
This is not only the official policy of the USA -- and of the entire West: it is, more powerfully even, the unofficial psycho-cultural axiom of the entire West. It has been so for over 50 years.

The poster "witness" quotes Spencer, The Academy informed Hooper that the event was not about religion, but about terrorism, and he denied CAIR's request. Score one for the Air Force Academy.
Then writes:
"Score one for the Air Force? No, actually they lose ten points because the root of the problem IS religon -- islam in particular."
The Air Force Academy can be given credit for finding a way to snub CAIR's request, though I doubt they did it out of clever perspicacity. However, I agree with "witness". This is a problem with the religion of Islam, and that is the crux of the presentation of the Three Ex-Terrorists. And Islam is a religion -- evil and dangerous and "doubly totalitarian"; but a religion nonetheless.

There was much criticism of school officials for not recognizing the potential threat from the Korean student that subsequently murdered several students at Virginia tech. As I remember he did not make any overt threats to harm anyone. He was just extremely quiet.
This bum makes an overt threat, and he was not arrested. Does someone have to die before he's charged with something?
