Mullah Dadullah was seen congratulating the suicide bomber teams in a video last summer. "Top Taliban chief arrested," by Maaz Khan for Agence France-Presse (thanks to all who sent this in):
PAKISTANI security forces wounded and captured a top Taliban commander in a shootout, police said, days after Islamabad denied the presence of senior militants on its soil.Mullah Mansoor Dadullah, the brother of the Islamist movement's slain military commander in Afghanistan, and seven other rebels were seized in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province, they said.
Dadullah had been in charge of operations against Western troops in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, but there were recent reports that he had been sacked by Taliban supremo Mullah Mohammed Omar.
"He has been wounded and arrested early this morning. He resisted when our men launched an operation" in the village of Gowal Ismail Zai, said Baluchistan police chief Saud Gohar....

Hey, I thought that when this little wrinkle came up, they were supposed to choose martyrhood—not be captured alive!
I guess he took a page from that 6-foot-tall Red Mosque imam with the huge Adam's apple that fled martyrhood in a burqa.
How come these people are perfectly willing to train 12-year-olds to be suicide bombers, and when it comes to taking up that offer for 72 virgins, suddenly we find they've got a 6-inch-wide Day-Glo yellow stripe down their backs from the crown chakra to the coccyx.
It isn't JUST US that should be trying them.
Why are the Saudis, Pakistanis, Iranians, etc. trying these people for CHILD ABUSE??? Oh, excuse me, they're still piping in Palestinian Authority TV with their raft of child stars of the mujahideen brigades.

Must be a guy with 9 lives: Wasn't he roasted some 6 months ago? How can he now be arrested again? Or have I got it wrong?

Assalamau Laikum all,
Mansoor is the brother of THE Mullah Dadullah who was a very well respected and much feared Taliban military leader, albiet he had a missing leg from seeing action against the Russ and he used to wear a false leg to get about (which he use to take off when at home (in his cave).
Anyway, the rumor is that his troop was somehow inflitrited by the British. When the British SBS was tasked to find Mullah Dadullah (and eliminate him) they were directed by the informant who knew they were coming and(obviously)fled but he STOLE Dadullah's false leg...preventing him from getting away fast enough.
Rumour has it that Dadulla was using his machine gun as to balance his body and trying to get away (rather than firing it) ...when the British shot him in the back....not a man's way to kill somebody the Taliban said...and they lost respect for the SBS for shooting a man in the back.
His brother Mansoor....although he has some following...it's only a spliter (no pun intended) from the original...he could never fill his brother's boot...hence suffering like Santa...(getting the sack).

Ahhhhh. Coffee and Naseem. What a combo to getting the morning jump-started. The coffee to waken the mind, Naseem to get to sarcasm flowing.

That reminds me, Kevin--how was your trip back home? Do you have a souvenir from The Great Red Spot? How is reconstruction in the Southern Hemisphere coming along, from the comet impacts? How are your folks? Why didn't you send me a postcard from Roswell?
Jovially yours,
John C

The jig's up--waterboarding, anyone?

John C:
The Big Red Spot was closed. Not the season. Trip was okay. Ran into a bit of a traffic at the Belt. It was de-acceleration shield to de-acceleration shield. You can't even tell that the comet ever hit. Beautiful work. Parents are fine. On Roswell, now you know no correspondence is allowed unless you are an official unnamed source. That requires a level 35, I'm only a level 29. Oh, great news. They finally decided on what to do with Europa. It'll be a wildlife habitat since no usable resources exist. That'll open Titan for full mining.
Jovially,
Kevin
On a more serious note: Mullah Mansoor Dadullah will either be used for trade or to seek concessions in any so-called "peace" negotiations. I have no hope, or patience, with Pakistan anymore.

By Jove, you're right, Kevin -- Mullah Mansoor should be "quietly" spirited out of there for "interrogation" by the CIA.

Coffee and Naseem?? I can't laugh and drink coffee at the same time...
This was good work on somebody's part.
They don't need to waterboard him. Just make him watch continuous loops of Richard Nixons 'Checkers speech', in Arabic, until he cracks...

Naseem Said: Rumour has it that Dadulla was using his machine gun as to balance his body and trying to get away (rather than firing it) ...when the British shot him in the back....not a man's way to kill somebody the Taliban said...and they lost respect for the SBS for shooting a man in the back.
They lost respect for the SBS for shooting a fellow terrorist in the back but they praise other fellow terrorists that blows up children, or that strap bomb vests to mentally retarded women and blows them up to kill other women and children.
What a twisted sense of what's right and wrong.

So many of these jihadist "commanders" cheerfully send children and mental defectives to be instruments of death, but when push comes to shove, are a little slow to accept martyrdom themselves. Are they not personally worthy of the 72 virgins that surely awit them?
/Naseem - I'm sure the Brits will be heartbroken that they've lost the esteem of those Taliban gentlemen. Some things are simply not cricket.
Who Dares Wins.

If Pakistani security forces wounded a top Taliban official, that raises one question: what had he done to THEM? The Pakistanis wouldn't track down and arrest one of their own creations unless he had outlived his usefulness or in some way had become a liability. He was apparently sacked by Mullah Omar but isn't Mullah Omar himself in Pakistan?
I thought Muslims didn't believe in theater and yet here they are putting on a fine show.

I always wondered why there haven't been any suicide attacks in the U.S. Is it the security? The fear of retaliation? Anyone willing to enlighten me here?

Speaking of Pakistan
The Obama / Huckabee debates would be awesome
H: Yeah, well, you want to bomb Pakistan, our ally in the War on Terror!
O: You can’t even find Pakistan on a map!
H: Which means I won’t be bombing it!

Oh, and one more thing, Kevin--
That is great news. Thanks to you and your inside tip, I'm heavily invested in Amalgamated Jovian Metals and in Consolidated Moons Mining & Extraction. What a killing on the Outer Planetary Exchange, By Jove!

Infidel Pride,
Barack Obama knows so little about the world abroad, it's frightening--it's rather late in the game that he should have to inform himself; he's too busy running on resonant slogans.

Barack Obama knows so little about the world abroad......as do Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Mike Huckabee. Unless her sucking up to Suha Arafat and Benazir Bhutto counts as experience, and unless McCain second-guessing the generals not just during the Iraq war, but during the Afghanistan war as well, count as 'experience'. Read: Simply agreeing with the State Department doesn't count as experience.
To be honest, in the entire field, there were no experienced candidates, except perhaps Tancredo on the GOP side and Richardson on the Dem side

Also, John C, I agree with Obama on bombing Pakistan - only debate here is whether that should have been made clear to Islamabad so openly. If only it hadn't been accompanied by his inane statements about negotiating with the Mid Eastern countries.

Obama was shooting from the hip--and the media, which are wise enough to know he wasn't serious, and partial to him, let it slide. If it were a Republican, the MSM would question his seriousness, judgment, and competence.
