Is this worth killing for?
A cartoon of Muhammad does not harm Muhammad. It does not harm Islam. It may even reflect more poorly on the cartoonist than on the object of the cartoon. Yet all too many Muslims around the world continue to fail to grasp this, and to commit cold-blooded murder in their static rage, unaware of or indifferent to the fact that their murderous anger is impotent to eradicate the fact of the cartoon itself, and reflects more poorly on their religion than any cartoon ever could.

Three persons including a police officer were killed after Muslim students rioted over a caricature of Prophet Mohammed by their Christian colleagues, police and teachers said Friday.Students of Government Secondary School Sumaila, some 76 kilometres (47 miles) south of the northern city of Kano, went on the rampage late Thursday, after a Christian student suspended for two weeks returned to the school.
He had been suspended for having drawn a caricature of the Prophet and posted it on a wall inside the school.
"Two people and a police inspector have been killed in the violence while the divisional police station and everything inside including ammunition have been burnt by the rioters", Kano police chief Aminu Yesufu told reporters outside the burnt police station.
He said about 20 others were badly wounded, including the divisional police officer, who suffered a deep machete cut to the head.
Police had arrested 25 people and opened an investigation, he added.
"The students began chanting Allahu Akbar (God is the greatest) when the Christian student returned and pursued him to lynch him", Sadiq Haruna, a teacher at the school, told an AFP reporter who visited the town on Friday.
"The Christian escaped in taking refuge in the local police station but hundreds of angry Muslim students attacked and set on fire the premises after the police refused to hand him over," Haruna said.
The whereabouts of the christian student were still not known.
This is the second time in a week in the mainly Muslim northern Nigeria that an allegation of blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed has sparked violent protests and an attack on the police.

Obviously Nigeria's machette control laws need strenghtening; registration and back ground checks would have prevented this. They probably to close the machette show loop hole.

What the heck is that? How old are these 'students? Secondary school? Sounds like twelve year olds, or twenty five year olds if you live in some countries where the book larnin is kinda slow. The only reason I can see for twenty five year olds to be in secondary school, is if they are training to be a Imam, or a shoe repair boy. Comparable employment in some countries. Shoe repair is a little slow in Nigeria as few people have shoes, so most of these rioters are probably striving for Imamship,

Well, if you measured by food alone, I am a muslim, or more properly, I agree with them about those foods. I avoid those like the plague, especially when served in jail. I also avoid jail like the plague. Diet wise, muslims probably vary according to habit and where they live. But it seems a fairly large number consider what they don't eat important.
I have encountered a number of muslims who are vegetarians. Personally I would consider a vegetarian muslim ahead on points, over a meat eating muslim...

Darcy, 1350 is an approxmate number; Mohammed started "preaching" when he was forty years old. Let's see; 2008 - (570 + 40) = 1398.
The year would be 610 not 628.

But also, you know that old saying "There are no atheists in a foxhole?" Well, I think the West is kinda in a foxhole right now concerning Mohammedans and their world domination obsession, don't you think?

Jesus taught not only faith, but action. That includes speaking the truth, standing up for what is right (regardless of consequences) and not allowing evil to prevail.
This is what must continue to be done about Islam. It is something that Christians and non Christians alike can be united on. Remember, Islam hates us all.

It is the threat of violence, guaranteed by the occasional application of real violence that keeps most people quiet. Theo Van Gogh will never produce another documentary.
The permission given by Mohammed to be commit acts of violence by any any true-blue Muslim is the most difficult thing to combat. The streets are literally full of true-blue Muslims willing to get their ticket to paradise punched.

If I'm not mistaken, the first Allah Murder was committed in 624 AD, the political hit put on the old Jew and social critic Abu Afak by Mohammed. This first degree murder was carried out at night, while poor Abu was snoring, and was thus the earliest example of Moslem courage.
Mohammed ordered the murder to thank the Jews for the kindness and charity they showed when Mohammed and Companions, starving, showed up at Yathrib begging for handouts.
2008 - 624 = 1,386 yrs of relentless Moslem activism (which most nowadays mistakenly call "terrorism").

Pelayo neither went "ballistic" nor insulted Darcy, he merely posted an accurate observation. Wishing, hoping, and yes, praying for something is all good, but human, tangible action is required for real progress towards eliminating the scourge of Jihadism.

I had a similar idea like n.a. palm. Why use expensive bombs and bullets, when there is a much cheaper way to defeat Muslims: Drop leaflets with cartoons and naked women, some hash meat and other irritants from sky and they will go completely nuts.

I've been away for a while. Prayer and faith alone will not get the job done. Prayer and faith alone did not defeat polio and they will not defeat radical Islam. It will take blood toil sweat and tears.
Could it be possible that God has made his decision? Could this be the reason why God gave the Arabs most of the oil that has been discovered so far? Is this God's plan? Never before has Islam's grasp reached so far into the far corners of this planet.

We're not fighting, at least I'm not. We're debating; just like the fight against radical Islam is an endless panel discussion, symposium, editorial, or televised debate. When will it be admitted that words will accomplish absolutely nothing. The reformation of Islam as an inside job will not happen.
No amount of talk will convince any Muslim that a cartoon of Mohammed is just a cartoon and not an insult. Islam has an answer for everything; if Mohammed was anything, he was street-wise smart.

Truly, the Danish cartoon Mr Spencer posted here, says it all. The mad eyes; the short, and shortening lit fuse to head/ turban as bomb - rage = self-destruction.
It hardly needs a caption. But, champ, I believe the perfect caption was assigned by some of Mohammed's Jewish dhimmi victims, a long time ago. Ha-Meshuggah (have I spelled that right?) - 'the Mad One'.
The Jews, the Hebrews, have been *the* best psychologists/ soul-doctors for a long, long time.
I don't think 'ha-meshuggah' is an insult. It's a clinical diagnosis.
