The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, congratulates Kosovo on behalf of the Islamic umma.
"Secretary General of the OIC declares support to the Kosovo Independence," from the OIC site (thanks to Sparta):
With regard to the declaration of independence by Kosovo yesterday, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu made the following remark today (18 February 2008) in Dakar at the opening of the OIC Senior Officials Meeting preparatory to the forthcoming OIC Summit to be held there on 13-14 March 2008:"…a very important event took place yesterday. Kosovo has finally declared its independence after a long and determined struggle by its people. As we rejoice this happy result, we declare our solidarity with and support to our brothers and sisters there. The Islamic Umma wishes them success in their new battle awaiting them which is the building of a strong and prosperous a state capable of satisfying of its people. There is no doubt that the independence of Kosovo will be an asset to the Muslim world and further enhance the joint Islamic action."
What joint Islamic action do you mean, Professor?

We know that.
They know that.
What the hell is Mr. Bush thinking?

As early as 1970, Bosnian islamofascists forsaw that a US slave-state would facilitate their empowerment, even as muslims would be able to fight any Christian or Jewish political order in the Middle East.
http://www.slobodan-milosevic.org/documents/islamic-declaration.pdf
"...It is unthinkable that a muslim should sacrifice himself for any king or ruler, no matter who he might be, or for the glory of any nation or party, because the strongest islamic instinct recognizes in this a kind of paganism and idolatry. A muslim can die only in the name of allah and for the glory of islam, or flee the battlefield."
But, the Bush Crime Family and their Euro suicidists will force Americans to die in the interest of the mortal enemy who would wipe out America, if they had the strength to do so. In Bush's weakness, the enemy finds strength.

"There is no doubt that the independence of Kosovo will be an asset to the Muslim world and further enhance the joint Islamic action."
And we are supposed to be surprised and shocked by this? C'mon. Robert and Hugh have been warning of exactly this sort of thing for a long time.
I see there are new readers at JW/DW who seem to have become enlightened about Islam only recently, but I also seem to detect this number is steadily growing. You're starting to have an effect Robert, through your books, lectures, this web site.
Ever think about entering politics or starting your own talk show?

Supercargo: You quoted "...It is unthinkable that a muslim should sacrifice himself for any king or ruler, no matter who he might be, or for the glory of any nation or party, because the strongest islamic instinct recognizes in this a kind of paganism and idolatry. A muslim can die only in the name of allah and for the glory of islam, or flee the battlefield."
This would seem to dictate against muslims serving in the national army of any non-islamic state, where such service could carry the risk of death (think any combat role, or even duty in a combat area). I don't think commanders in most national armies would mind keeping such people out of the ranks if they possess such a mind set. There might be a problem, though, in countries with a draft. Would a muslim qualify for Conscientious Objector status on the grounds stated above? Anyone know the answer to this?

Bwahahaha!
A not-so-well-kept secret, and he just let it a little further out of the bag. If only anyone other than the one-percenters (if even that) who, including JihadWatchers are aware and alarmed, would wake up and smell the coffee, we'd be getting somewhere.
Thank you Robert, and... Keep up the good work.

It is well known that there is jihad activity, including Al Qaeda, operating in Kosovo and the Balkans region. The majority of the jihadi money is coming from Saudi Arabia.
Here are some interesting quotes from the article Al Qaeda in Kosovo:
Of particular importance is the information provided by retired U.S. marine Thomas Gimble, top expert in the field of national security and former chief of the OSCE intelligence agency in Kosovo, where he resided from 1999 until 2004. In December of 2006, Gimble claimed that Kosovo has become the largest reservoir of potential jihadi terrorists in the world, and that al-Qaeda is investing massive amounts of money in the region.
According to Gimble’s sources, Saudi Arabia, Iran, al-Qaeda and Hezbollah are jointly working on establishing an Islamist army in Europe made up of as many as 750,000 soldiers. The army is quickly arming itself with modern weaponry, and a select few recruits are being sent to private flight schools, particularly in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. Recruiting centers are located in hundreds of newly-erect mosques throughout Kosovo, Bosnia, FYR of Macedonia and Albania, whose building expenses are covered by numerous Arab countries. ‘In Kosovo I came to the conclusion,’ Gimble says, ‘that initiatives for the spreading of radical Islam are much larger and more complicated than I could have possibly imagined.’
To understand the entire story of the Islamic extremist and terrorist web in Kosovo, several registered and non-registered Islamic NGOs active in Kosovo are of particular importance. The most prominent among these are: 1. the Saudi Committee for United Aid to Kosovo, 2. the Islamic Humanitarian Foundation “El Haramein”, 3. Al Vakh Al Islami, 4. the Global Council of Muslim Youth, 5. the Islamic International Fund for Aid, 6. the Global Foundation for Aid, 7. the Society for the Revival of Islamic heritage, and 8. Kaliri il Merilis, or “higher goodness”.
These organizations represent the primary base of operations for al-Qaeda in Kosovo. The mother of all Arab NGOs that promote Islamic fundamentalism, extremism, and terrorism is the Saudi Committee for United Aid, whose headquarters are in Riad, Saudi Arabia. Their main Kosovo office is in Pristina, on the “Bill Clinton” boulevard, but they have offices in southern Kosovska Mitrovica and in Vucitrn as well. The director of the Kosovo branch is Jael Hamza Dzalaidan, a man linked to Osama bin Landen. Officially, the organization is involved in education and in providing medical aid to the people of Kosovo, but in reality the organization pays the Kosovo people to follow Islam.

Serbs protest Kosovo independence
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080219/ap_on_re_eu/kosovo_independence_56
"KOSOVSKA MITROVICA, Kosovo - Serbs set off sporadic explosions and torched checkpoints between Serbia and Kosovo on Tuesday to protest Kosovo's declaration of independence and international recognition of the new nation."
Blame it on the Christian Serb terrorists! I am waiting for AP news stories about Serbs being unable to reach their jobs or till their land on the opposite side of the Kosovo border fence. I won't hold my breath!

Even thought the Kosovar leaders are saying that the Serbs living there are Kosovars too, how long before the Kosovo Serbs start getting harrassed, robbed and even murdered by mulims?
Days or hours?
The US recognizing independant Kosovo, is the kind of appeasement not seen since Hitler was given Chekoslovakia.
Insanity or stupidity? Either way, it's trouble.

We can now expect Muslim Kashmiris to demand their own state citing Kosovo as a precedent.
