Iranian lawmakers want Thug-In-Chief to cut ties with Dutch, Danes over cartoons

Intimidation. "Iran MPs want action on Dutch, Danes over cartoon," from Reuters (thanks to all who sent this in):

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian lawmakers have urged the president to review ties with Denmark and the Netherlands over the reprinting of a satirical cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad in Danish and Dutch newspapers, Iranian media said on Monday.

Protests and rioting erupted in 2006 in Muslim countries around the world when the cartoons, one showing the Prophet with a turban resembling a bomb, first appeared in a Danish daily. At least 50 people were killed and three Danish embassies attacked.

Most Muslims consider depictions of the Prophet Mohammad offensive.

Danish newspapers reprinted one of the drawings last week in protest against what they said was a plot to murder the cartoonist who drew it. At least two Dutch newspapers published pictures of the Danish newspapers, with the cartoon visible.

In a letter to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, some 215 MPs in Iran's 290-seat assembly said Iran should review trade and political links with Denmark and the Netherlands to respond to "an anti-Islamic and Islamophobic current" in the two countries.

"We, representatives of the honorable Iranian nation, condemn this devil measure. We ask the president ... to seriously review Iran's political and trade ties with these countries," the lawmakers wrote in the letter, state radio said.

I'm sure that the Thug-in-Chief will be happy to oblige the Iranian lawmakers over this stupid cartoon - since Ahmad's aim is to create chaos whenever & wherever he possibly can.

Cutting ties with nations is an acceptable action. It's a far cry from murdering ambassadors or taking them hostage. Let Iran isolate itself. Should we care?
Now if only we could get them out of the UN and thus out of New York.

The Thug-in-Chief could sponsor another round of anti-Israel cartoons, making fun of the Holocaust. That was his response two years ago.

to respond to "an anti-Islamic and Islamophobic current" in the two countries
Let the Muslims continue to provoke the West. One day the kuffar's patience will run out. Posted by: US_infidel [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 19, 2008 1:56 PM

Thug-in-Chief - what products do you have (other than oil) that anyone else would want to buy?

Stones for tossing at uppity women?

Walls to push on top of homosexuals?

Used burqas? (see stoning)

Spare fatwas?

"We, representatives of the honorable Iranian nation, condemn this devil measure.
What "devil measure"?...The use of mentally handicapped women as remote controlled bombs? The beheadings of journalists while chanting Allah-u Akbar? The honor killings of family members? NO. The concern from Iran is the publication of political cartoons by the independent press of a free Western country.

There's no honor in the "honorable Iranian nation" when the govt. protests freedom of speech while ignoring genocide and filicide.

And why do Muslims so often use adjectives with well known terms? ie: Holy Qur'an, Honorable Iranian nation, noble Islam, etc. Could it be to help differentiate from ie: the Evil Qur'an, the Despicible Iranian nation, and barbaric Islam?

Seems like Muslims need to constantly reinforce their delusions to keep them active.

Why do Western governments always allow Islamic states to occupy the moral high ground?

Denmark and the Netherlands, along with other Western nations, should break diplomatic, and all other relations, with Iran on the grounds that the oppressive and immoral nature of its government and policies, are an affront to the Moral sensibilities of civilized nations everywhere.

Why allow Iran the chance to assume the mantle of moral superiority, by allowing it to be the first to break relations on moral grounds?

Where did we get this massive inferiority complex?

Oh gee, I bet the Danes are extremely upset. NOT!!!

I find it beyond credible belief that Iran can get so upset about a cartoon, yet be silent regarding outrageous attacks on other Muslims in their own country.

Denmark and Holland should take this oppertunity to ship some their muslims to Iran. then they can be happy and not hae to keep seething all the time.

Very anti-Infidel of them I must say. If all the EU members would reprint these Cartoons, then the Iranians would self impose their own Embargo. No need for the UN to get involved what so ever. Go ahead, Cut your own Nose off. Save us all that time and effort.

Good question. Whenever we refuse to deal with despots those on the left can be counted on to say with unctuousity: we must talk to our enemies. The very fact that we don't talk to them (as when Bush refused to talk with Arafat) is twisted to make it look like it's the Western governments that don't want peace.

I bet there is not a muslim alive that knows what a 'necktie party' is, even though they have them in Iran all the time...

Lampooning the article...

DETROIT (Rioters) - National religious groups are urging Bush to review ties with Denmark and the Netherlands over the reprinting of a satirical cartoon of the Lord Jesus Christ in Danish and Dutch newspapers, American media said on Monday.

Protests and rioting erupted in Detroit and around the Christian world when the cartoons, portraying Christ as a bible-thumping terrorist, first appeared in a Danish daily. At least 50 people were killed and three Danish embassies were attacked.

Most Christians consider slandering Jesus offensive.

Danish newspapers reprinted one of the drawings last week in protest against what they said was a CIA plot to murder the cartoonist who drew it. At least two Dutch newspapers published pictures of the original papers, with the cartoon visible.

In a letter to Bush, hundreds of religious leaders said America should review trade and political links with Denmark and the Netherlands to respond to "an anti-Christian and Godophobic current" in the two countries.

"We, representatives of the honorable Christian community, condemn this devil measure. We ask the president ... to seriously review America's political and trade ties with these countries," the leaders wrote in the letter, Detroit radio said.

Islamic fundamentals cannot be allowed to participate in the free world.Period.

We, the self appointed representatives of the dishonorable Iranian dictatorship, condemn this devil measure taken by the Kufr. We ask the terrorist in chief ... to seriously review political and trade ties with these countries. We humbly ask that the export of suicide bombers, religious fanatics, mad mullahs, sexism, homophobia and anti semitism be curtailed with immediate effect.
