Which star is Denmark again?
Motoons Rage Update. "Pakistani cartoon protesters burn Danish, US flags," from Agence France Presse via the Khaleej Times (hence the "pbuh"):
KARACHI - Hundreds of angry Muslim youths rallied in major cities in Pakistan on Friday and torched Danish flags to protest against the recent republication of a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh).
Witnesses said about 150 supporters of fundamentalist party Jamaat-i-Islami gathered outside a mosque in the port city of Karachi, flying banners demanding Pakistan sever diplomatic ties with Denmark.
“We don’t need to have diplomatic relations with a country that hurts our religious sentiments,” the banners read, as demonstrators burned Danish and US flags and chanted: “Death to the cartoonist.”
In the capital Islamabad, cries of “Say no to Denmark” rang out as about 300 students from colleges and Islamic schools crowded outside the city’s biggest mosque, witnesses said.
They burned an effigy of the Danish cartoonist amid chants of ”Crush Denmark” and “We love our Prophet.”
Up to 200 religious studies students held similar rallies in the central city of Multan.
Protest leaders vowed to continue their demonstrations.
“We are observing this protest across the country today and we would not avoid sacrificing our lives for this sacred cause,” said Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, one of the demonstrators.
To Muslims, such drawings are blasphemous since Islam prohibits any images of the prophet.
Pakistan on Tuesday summoned the Danish envoy in Islamabad to lodge a “strong protest” over republication of the cartoons in Denmark.

Man, that must have been a fun meeting. You'd have to have some serious diplomatic skills to keep a straight face during that harangue.

“Death to the cartoonist.”
”Crush Denmark”
The "sacred values" of Islam on full display.
The "religious sentiments" that no one must hurt!
p.s. Whose flag were they burning anyway? No American flag ever looked like that. In the early days of the republic new states had new stripes as well as new stars.

Y'know People, we joke around, but events such as this are the forshadowings of WW3, which will be West v Islam.
I read that Nostradamus predicted WW3 will occur in 2010.
After a few moments of considering that prophecy, and considering Mohammedan world events since September 11, 2001, I have to say I believe this.
Two years away.
732 / 1683 / 2010 --it makes sense, doesn't it?
Bush should have retaliated immediately after 9/11. If the dhimmi had, we wouldn't be seeing events such as Motoon Rage and there would be no need for Jihad Watch. I don't like saying this, but Bush was a traitor to the U.S. by not immediately retaliating. Because of his egregious failure in this regard, look at all the Mohammedan c*** we are dealing with, both in Western Europe and here in America.

In the background, on the right, there is a Danish flag ready to burn. But you are right - no protest against any Western (read White, from their POV) country would be complete without the burning of Old Glory - regardless of whether or not Uncle Sam is involved.
Pakistan murdabad! Islam murdabad! Mussalman murdabad!

PMK is right - there seems to be just 12 - maybe 16 stars on that flag. I'd think New England, Denmark,...
Oh well, since when was either history or geography the strong point of the ummah?

I wonder, given the reverence for a woman having sons, could it be that the real reason they're protesting is because they can't get a girlfriend or do as the youth gangs in Denmark are doing sexually attacking infidel women in Denmark

The editor of the original printing of the cartoons stands firm and says it all:
"This is about standing for fundamental values that have been the (foundation) for the development of Western democracies over several hundred years, and we are now in a situation where those values are being challenged," he said.
"I think some of the Muslims who have reacted very strongly to these cartoons are being driven by totalitarian and authoritarian impulses, and the nature of these impulses is that if you give in once they will just put forward new requirements."
Rose refuses to apologize. "We do not apologise for printing the cartoons. It was our right to do so."

Picking up on other comments, the U.S. flag has NEVER had twelve stars, as appears to be the case from the pic, but rather thirteen as its fewest, and arranged in a circle. See the so-called "Betsy Ross" Revolutionary War era version found here
Speaking of adding insult to injury, these jihadi performance artists can't even get flag burning right!

Just like the paedophile loved his child bride.

Precisely.
“Death to the cartoonist.”
Death to Islam.

Because he was one ugly sonofabitch

Shortly after this the EU announced that it was going to pay for councelling sessions for all the protesters to ameliorate the hurt and distress caused.

One has come to expect this type of behavior out of Pakistan. What about Denmark?
Posted by: flowerknife_us

Relax everyone. This isn't really a protest. It's just Muslim behavior in reaction to unusually warm weather. Not many cars worth burning there so they have to settle for a few flags.

Come to think of it, if the "death to infidels" crowd had any marketing wits -and wasn't constrained by the prohibition against making images- it could make a patch of the cartoon of Mohammad wearing a turban shaped like a bomb with a lit fuse, and sew it onto the shrouds of suicide bombers. Of course, I wouldn't expect them to ask the artist's permission to do this, or to pay any kind of royalties.

From the way the press has been acting lately, it is probable that one of the journalists had his staffers whip up a flag in a hurry.
Or maybe that's the number we end up with after a bunch declare themselves Islamic countries. trying to LOL

Darcy,
I don't disagree that Bush should have retaliated right after 9/11 but against whom?
Should he have bombed Germany, where most members of the cell were located?
Should he have bombed Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the countries of the hijackers and two supposed allies of the US? Riyadh or Mecca? Cairo?
There's an interview on NRO with a professor who sees Europe committing slow-motion suicide. He sees bright spots in the Danes who are resisting Islamic attempts to quash their freedom of speech and in ordinary Europeans who are doing the same, regardless of what their leaders do. One suggestion is that the US withdraw from NATO, forcing Europe either to defend itself or to surrender to Islamic aggression.

Part of the flag is out of the frame; it could have sixteen stars. No US flag ever had sixteen stars either. The flag had 13 in 1777, 15 in 1795 and 20 in 1818.
I am neither insulted nor injured by someone burning a fake flag. Furthermore, flag burning is not about actually desecrating a flag; it is about demonstrating ones anger and irritating the faux patriot.
People seem to be upset over the burning of a flag that never existed. It is the symbolism that makes the point. It may be a reasonable facsimilie, but it is not a US flag. Therefore, in the US, it could not be a crime.

They were a little off granted...but it did look like they had the Danish flag on fire too
Whoever draws the anger from the Mohammadans they'll be condemned, and always is the default policy to include US and/or Israel in the fun for good measure.
How much of the American taxpayer dollars goes to these folk? Is there ever an explanation why it does? Does anyone even ask anyone responsible something like this?
I can't wait till March !

The photo reminded me of a short story from the Tanakh (just replace "Baal" and "your gods" with Allah):
1 Kings 18:
25And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
29And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
There is no Allah. That's why they act like that.

'Oh well, since when was either history or geography the strong point of the ummah?'
And that's about to get worse, in Pakistan at least, infidel pride:
'ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: Religious parties in the National Assembly were on Wednesday up in arms against teaching Pakistan’s pre-Islamic history in schools...
But the authors of the notice seemed unimpressed despite some interjections from the chair to justify the teaching of pre-Islamic history for the sake of knowledge and described the changes as part of what they saw as a government attempt to secularise the educational curricula.
“That may be your history, (but) ... our history (starts) from Makkah and Medina,” MMA member Farid Ahmad Piracha shouted as he led his alliance’s walkout...'

All they needed was one more row of stars and they would have had the flag that existed in 1818, for all of one year.
They think they're insulting us but they do an awfully poor job of it. Everyone laughs at them.

On the other hand the numbers are refreshing, 200 here, 300 there. Hardly a popular uprising then.
Which hopefully goes to show that if the masses can rise up and exterminate these mad gits, then half the problem will be solved.
Stopping Americans voting in half-wits will be more difficult.
But then again the Left(democrats) have been wittering on about equality for ages. Now IQ is no barrier to leading the world's most powerful nation. They're still not happy, it's what they all wanted, isn't it?

tanstaafl, I'm reminded of WVU football games of the 70's, when a victory meant that the students would start a bonfire in the middle of the main street in Sunnyside (the slumlike section of Morgantown, WV, where many students live) I don't recall seeing any appliances getting tossed in to the bonfire, or even effigies and state flags, but couches were always popular burn items.
