Due to her hatred of Jews and "personal family problems," she volunteered for this mission, and went to Mecca beforehand to purify herself.

A 17-year-old female Palestinian from Jerusalem was arrested three weeks ago for allegedly offering to carry out a suicide bombing in the city, police said Thursday. The girl was apprehended in a joint Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and police operation.The would-be bomber, a resident of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Abu Tor, is suspected of having suggested to Islamic Jihad operatives in the West Bank that they use her to carry out a terror attack, due to her hatred of Jews and "personal family problems," Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The teen, who has confessed to the allegations against her, said that her family had no knowledge of her plans to become a suicide bomber, police said.
As part of her enlistment, the teen traveled to Mecca to "purify" herself, after undergoing a series of tests by the Palestinian terror group to ensure that she was not an Israeli mole, police said....

I'm sure that the Islamic Jihad operatives welcomed her with open arms. They just love troubled teens wishing to 'purify' themselves. Islam is such a demented, false religion.

We'd like to hear more about the "series of tests" administered by the terrorists to prove she was not an Israeli mole. I suspect various other Islamic abominations were involved. Islam is a bottomless pit of obscenities.

How can one "purify" oneself for an act that supposedly is contra to the tenets of the religion that one practices.

Sad, but true. It's hard enough being a teen under 'normal' conditions, as I remember those years all too well, but I could not imagine being raised under Islam's evil thumb. Makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

I thought that "personal family problems" was a euphamism for mental illness. Are all otherwise healthy but suicidal people mentally ill?

Just exactly what were those tests? Did she have to murder someone?

I rather suspect that the "purification" also had other purposes, besides vetting her. Apparently, in order for a martyrdom operation to be by the book the motivation has to be purely for the jihad: to kill the unbelievers for Allah, and not for personal gain in the here and now. I speculate that she was probably motivated by things related to her family's problems. Could be "honor" related? If so, perhaps she did something or was accused of something that got her family into trouble. We've seen a fair amount of this in recent years: young women will do these things to wipe away the same and dishonor that they somehow brought on their family and themselves.
Maybe there still is a good financial reward for being a martyr, and so this could be a way for her to help out her family?
Nevertheless, the purification is supposed to purge her of less than stellar motives. It is also to help motivate them for the jihad.

Erm, call me Islamophobe if you must but:
How does a person purify themselves by worshipping a murderer, a torturer, a liar, a rapist and a paedophile?
I could go on but sorry, must dash, the local Waffen SS cub scout troop are holding a "Humanaity, Tolerance and Spirituality" evening. I don't wnat to miss a single enriching moment as I need to become a better person as I'm sure you'll appreciate...

I read the article and the first thing that sprang to mind was the "personal family problems".
We've seen in Iraq, girls are used as suicide bombers as a means of shedding family dishonour. I suspect she had been caught within 50 feet of an unrelated male and sent off to "redeem" their honour.
