Afghans rage at Motoons, Wilders film on Qur'an

"It is intolerable. The perpetrators should be punished and questioned." Funny thing: that's just what I think about those who threaten (and commit) murder over cartoons.

"Afghans Protest Danish Cartoons, Koran Film," from Reuters (thanks to Sr. Soph):

MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan (Reuters) - About 1,000 Afghans, incensed by the republication of Prophet Mohammad's caricatures in a Danish paper, marched in a northern city on Sunday demanding withdrawal of Danish and Dutch troops from the country.

The protesters, mostly religious clerics in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, also condemned plans by a right-wing Dutch politician to broadcast a film on the Koran.

Afghanistan's religious affairs ministry has called the reprinting of Prophet Mohammad's cartoons as an attack against Islam. Several other Islamic countries have demanded that the film by the Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders must not be released.

The cartoons were first printed in Danish papers in 2005 and sparked violent protests across the Muslim world and reprinted by several other Western publications in 2006 in which dozens of people, some in Afghanistan, were killed.

"We demand the...withdrawal of Danish and Dutch soldiers from Afghanistan," said Mawlavi Shoaib, a religious figure and one of the organizers.

"Down with Denmark and Netherlands. We will not let anyone insult the prophet and the Koran. We urge the Muslim community to voice their concerns" chanted the protesters.

The Dutch and Danish troops serve under NATO's command in Afghanistan.

Mawlavi Hakim, one of the protest organizers said: "It is intolerable. The perpetrators should be punished and questioned."

Punished and questioned? In that order? Punish first, ask questions later?

Oh, the justice of sharia... [not].

Ha-Ha. You're insane.

Denmark and Netherlands: Continue to "insult" Mohammed the false prophet and the Terrorist Manual Koran. Continue, continue, continue.

"We will not let anyone insult the prophet and the Koran."

Izzatso? The "prophet" was a thief, liar, murderer, and rapist, and the "Koran" is for the most part the compilation of his psychotic and vengeance laced utterances.

Tell me, Mawlavi Shoaib, have I insulted the "prophet" and the "Koran," or have I simply told the truth about the man and his book?

"'We demand the...withdrawal of Danish and Dutch soldiers from Afghanistan,' said Mawlavi Shoaib, a religious figure and one of the organizers."
-- from the article above

Remove those Danish and Dutch troops. And the French, German, British, and Canadian troops, and any other Westerners, there to make the lifes of Afghanis more tolerable. Let the country, led by a plausible lord of minor misrule, collapse. No aid money, no schools built that can then be bombed and then rebuilt by the Infidels, no nothing.

Keep those drones working. Keep some locals supplied with arms, if they look like they will fight other locals who are even more deeply affected by Islam, and therefore even more unpleasant and uncompromising in their attitude toward Infidels. Let Tadzhiks and Uzbeks in the north deal with their ethnic rivals, Pushtun, seen as the main supporter of the Taliban as they did in 2001, let the Hazara be given weapons to defend themselves from the uber-sunnis of the Taliban, and let hell break -- gently loose. All the while conducting non-stop propaganda, broadcast in any way it can be, to note that the "Arabs" came to "destroy Afghanistan" -- keep of this theme -- to "use the Afghanis" as cannon fodder while they, the Arabs, grow ever more fantastically rich (clips of skyscrapers in Dubai, clips of double-goateed Saudis waddling into London banks or gambling dens on Las Vegas, shots of camel races in the Emirates (with small boys from Asia tied on those camels), pictures of fabulous wealth and decadence. A propaganda war, designed to split non-Arab from Arab Muslims, complete with a list of all the ways that Arabs use Islam as a vehicle of Arab imperialism. What an idea -- using the truth to weaken the Camp of Enemy, instead of lying, in order to prevent both the enemy from taking offense, and your own people from becoming too dangerously well-informed about the nature of that ideology and hence, of the kinds of things that make sense, and those that don't.

Send weapons or spy-satellite intelligence, now to this group, and now to that. If necessary, bomb here, or bomb there. But no troops and above all no Infidel aid to save the locals from the consequences of the political, economic, social, intellectual, and moral failures of their own societies, rooted in Islam. Make that connection explicit, in analyzing the penchant for violence, the tendency to despotism, the inshallah-fatalism, the mistreatment of women and non-Muslims, the inability of Muslims to begin to understand what is morally unacceptable about their worldview, in which all loyalty is owed to fellow Muslims, no matter what atrocities they commit, and no loyalty at all is owed to non-Muslims, even if one has been allowed to settle within, and provided with every kind of benefit, by generous Western societies (see Denmark, see The Netherlands, see see see).

Repeat ad libitum, as directed by doctors of policy who have passed their Boards in Islam.

What are we fighting for in that country, freedom and democracy? Bull! The Taliban were monsters, but their policies go on, just in a slightly modified form.

We hear about elections and constitutions, but what does it mean? People with the same mind-set as the Taliban get elected, and are appointed to to the judicial system. Every right guaranteed in the constitution is effectively cancelled by the provision that no law can conflict with Sharia law, so the barbarism goes on.

We could save ourselves a lot of blood and treasure if we would only realize that not all people understand or want Democracy and freedom, and have absolutely no concept of human rights.

Thx, Hugh.
Let me juswt add once again that Ataturk showed that the only way to successfully reform a Muslim country is to suppress Islam, a vital first step not taken there.

Posted by: jewdog [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 2, 2008 8:31 AM

jewdog,

Allow me to suggest that the best way to reform a Muslim country is by persuading its citizens that Mohammad was a false prophet, and the only way that this can be accomplished is by exposing Mohammad to the sustained criticism and ridicule that his "revelations from Allah" richly deserve.

Yes, Virginia, we are at war with Islam, so to hell with political correctness and the fear of wounding delicate Muslim sensibilities. Lives are at stake, so let the light shine in the darkness!

Radio-Free Arabia has a nice ring to it!

DEUS VULT!

Lex,

I agree with rational.

Not everyone in the world values personal freedom. Not everyone in the world wants democracy, or a freely elected government. Not everyone in the world wants human rights. Hard to believe, but...

We in the West take these concepts of freedom--freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom to associate with those we choose, and the separation of church and state, as self-evident. There are those in this world (shall I be un-PC and say ::cough:: muslims ::cough::) who do not.

The sooner we understand that not everyone in the world sees things with the same view that we do, the better off we will be.

Give the dopes what they want.

Dutch, Danish and all other foreign troops will leave Iraq, never to return. All countries should establish rules barring any assistance from their taxpayers making its way to Afghanistan and deny travel to the West to all Afghans and deny reentry to anyone who sets foot in Afghanistan. Even those who claim to be supporters of the West should be denied access. If they want to live in peace they will have to fight their own countrymen to get it. It's called civil war. If they won't fight their fellow Muslims then they can live with the results.

The final step should be eviction of Afghan "diplomats" from Western countries, including the US. This means no Afghan presence at the UN.

"MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan (Reuters) - About 1,000 Afghans, incensed by the republication of Prophet Mohammad's caricatures in a Danish paper, marched in a northern city on Sunday demanding withdrawal of Danish and Dutch troops from the country. "

Here's Al Reuters again informing us of that the "Prophet Mohammad" isn't the Islamic one, he's everyones Prophet.

Sounds to me like the cartoonists and the Great Geert Wilders have provided their fellow countrymen a wonderful opportunity to get out of that mess in Afghanistan and infact end the Jizya payments.

An opportunity at least

Mindsets are difficult to change, as we see here in a sports day celebration in Pakistan...

[‘Taliban’ takeover PU IBA Students praise Taliban bravery

* PU registrar says no one allowed to launch pro-Taliban campaign on campus, stresses students free to choose any name for sports team

By Adnan Lodhi

LAHORE: The Punjab University (PU) Institute of Business Administration (IBA) students on Friday showed their inclination towards Taliban and their policies.

They pitched a camp and named it Taliban on the annual sports day. Their shirts also carried statements in favour of Taliban. They said Taliban were working for a ‘great cause’, but the world had not been able to understand the spirit behind their sacrifices.

They also arranged an airgun shooting competition for female students. During the shooting competition a student was also injured. Students also decorated their stalls with posters of guns and also kept a fundraising box for Taliban on the stall. A female student said Taliban were fighting for a ‘great cause’. She said it was the need of the hour that students should know problems faced by the Muslim world.

Rizwan, a student, said, “Taliban are great warriors. We are raising funds for Taliban. Pakistanis think that Taliban are behind suicide bombings, but it is not true.” Asim, a student, said, “We are not affiliated with any political or religious party, but we praise Taliban for their bravery.” IBA Director Dr Ehsan Malik said, “I have no qualms if a group of students choose the word Taliban for their team.”

PU Registrar Dr Naeem said no one was allowed to launch a campaign for Taliban. He said the Taliban camp was merely part of the sports day]

Collective identity, collective grievance, collective offense, collective guilt, collective punishment--the mindset of the Umma is totally alien to the individualist ethic of the West.

If all of the Dutch or Danes are guilty, why don't Dutch or Danish Muslims flagellate or immolate themselves? O, I'm sorry; I forgot, all Muslims are innocent, all non-Muslims are guilty.

All Muslims should leave the infidel West immediately in protest!

Free plane seats should be provided to transport them all to Mecca now!

(I'll gladly chip in the first ticket price from my upcoming rebate check.)

These people will only be calmed down by a continuous massive barrage of mockery, cream pies and seltzer bottle squirting.

We've probably been remiss to the extent that we have not yet produced a Mel Brooks / Monty Python style life of mohammed -- complete with sight gags about sand, camels, burnooses, robes caught in revolving doors the whole thing.

They have a holiday where they all stand around en masse throwing rocks at some imaginary devil, I mean think of the comic possibilities!

It's all so damn solemn.

Where are Moe-hammed, Larry-hammed and Curly-hammed when you need them?

We could probably win half of this damn war just by posting pictures of Moe Howard in a turban on every available billboard.

They don't like the mo-toons? Fine! Lets print them on T shirts and all wear them. Hand them out for free. Hell, let's air-drop them on places where people need clothes!

How about wet-burka contests?

God! The comic possibilities of the burka are endless.

Sure they need to be seriously oppoosed. They're bad guys.

But these people desperately need to be mocked.

"The protesters, mostly religious clerics in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif" -

Clerics vs. Cartoons? Clerics acting like Cartoons? Cartoons making fun of Clerics? The possibilities boogle the mind.

I say more Motoons and more Western movies about Islam!

Don't forget the reruns of "Bewitched"!

Confound the clerics!

"(with small boys from Asia tied on those camels)"

This may only apply to Dubai, but recently I heard on "60 Minutes" that after a brief experiment with monkeys, they moved on to little robots.

Hugh

Problem is that the Dems want to put the troops that they withdraw from Iraq into Afghanistan, instead of encouraging precisely the type of warfare you suggest.

All the warlords need to be resurrected - Masoud, Dostun, Khalili, Ismail Khan, Karzai, et al, and let loose on each other. Also let Pakistan send in as many Pathans as they can into Afghanistan, so that there are fewer of them to cause trouble in Kashmir.
