Hamas claims victory as Israel leaves Gaza

I'm not so sure this one is quite over, but we shall see. "Middle East: Hamas claims victory upon Israel's Gaza pullout," from AKI (thanks to Sr. Soph):

Gaza City, 3 March(AKI) - The Islamist Hamas movement has claimed 'victory', after Israeli forces ended a five-day offensive the Gaza Strip, reportedly leaving at least 115 Palestinians dead and 320 injured since clashes started on Wednesday 27 February.

According to Palestinian news agency Maan, one-third of the victims were children.

And of course the media abets the spread of this kind of disinformation.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday announced peace negotiations with Israel would be suspended "until the aggression has stopped."

"The enemy has been defeated," said a Hamas spokesman while broadcasting a news bulletin picked up by Israel Radio.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International issued a press release condemning the killings of civilians by Israeli armed forces and called again on Palestinian armed groups to immediately cease firing rockets at towns and villages in southern Israel.

Three Israelis - two soldiers and one civilian - have been killed by Palestinian militants in the past five days.

"We condemn all attacks on civilians, but unlawful attacks by one side cannot justify violations by the other," said Malcolm Smart director of Amnesty International's Middle East and North Africa Programme.

"Israel's attacks this week display a degree of disproportion and recklessness which has so often characterised Israeli military attacks in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in recent years," he said.

Malcolm, you tool, don't you realize you're being played for a chump?

Shooting AFTER you have been shot at is not unlawful. It is self-defense. How is self-defense against an attacker a violation? Why is Israel not allowed to defend itself?

Hey Smartass, define a lawful attack and a lawful response to that attack, pretty please.

Give Malcolm a rifle. Put Malcolm in Gaza. Outnumber Malcolm with other men with rifles, who live only to shoot and kill Malcolm. If Malcolm lives, after six days of this treatment, ask Malcolm if his opinion is in any way changed after this experiment.

Amnesty International is a body of unabashedly, biased and mindless leftists whose sole intent is the malevolent and lop-sided censuring Israel and her Western allies; even Israel’s numerous fair-weather allies.
Meanwhile, Hamas touts victory. Well, this is to be expected, let’s face it, Hamas, et al, is not known for its forthrightness or abilities, when it comes to simple arithmetic or attrition.
As well, these dullards are more than aware of the fact, CNN, The Beeb and other leftist-media-ites will be in their, delusional, corner: spewing and disseminating Hamas’ “reality”, which is, often, called self-deception.

Malcolm should move to Israel and live daily under the threat of being hit with a mortar.

"According to Palestinian news agency Maan, one-third of the victims were children."

I guess that line is supposed to evoke our sympathy for the Palestinian children. Well it still does, but not as much as it used to; not since Palestinian TV for children shows toddlers wearing bomb-vests and waving mock AK-47's, and crying "we will avenge Farfur (I think that was the name of the elongated Mickey Mouse character), we will kill the Israelis who have stolen our homeland." And not since the video from a proud Moslem papa showing his 5-year old reciting: "Bush? I will kill him. The Americans? I will kill them. The Israelis? I will kill them." Yes, I feel sorry for the Palaestinian children, sorry that they have to be brought up by such foul parents and teachers. The Israelis are the least of these poor kids' worries.
PS. Is Malcolm Smart Maxwell's younger brother? Or maybe his son?

Well considering Hamas fights from within civilian populations, (war crime) and fires onto civilian populations (war crime), it doesn't really leave the Israelis with room to work with, and of course their will be civilian casualties.

Civilians that wish for the genocide of a state, that aid and abett terror against that state, that elected a terrorist movement into power, are getting what they have asked for.

Posted by: Sneakyzionistcrusader [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 3, 2008 9:37 AM

It is always fascinating how Hamas, and Hezbollah always manage to claim victory in any battles with the IDF.

Of course the victory they are claiming is the propaganda victory were once again they get to play victim. Thus once again the bleeding hearts coming marching in.

This war will rage eternally if the Israelis are required as amnesty international would have it, to fight tit for tat against the Palestinians.

Now begins the usual victim hood victory march of the Palestinians in an effort to gain more international support for their self induced miserable lives.

I have heard the argument on more than one occasion that the only way for Israel to truly stop these attacks on their city's is to totally level the gaza strip and all area's surrounding it. while i don't agree with this personally i can see why it gets mentioned. How can Israel fight against an enemy that are so cowardly they not only target civilians but use their own civilians as meat shields, and of course when these innocents get killed Hamas screams for revenge and calls Israel "child killers".....no children would die if these cowards were not putting them in danger by provoking a response from a people that have had enough of rocket attacks killing its own citizens.

Posted by: Sm0kA [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 3, 2008 10:04 AM

I know I am repeating what everyone else has said, but essentially Amnesty International is saying that self defense is illegal if you are have a modern military establishment and the enemy has an ad hoc method of attack an uses civilians as shields.

That is just so much rot.

Yep. That's the ticket. Brave Hamas butchers, hiding behind women and children have chased out the "occupiers". Excuse me, but the Hamas "fighters" have to run off and shoot more rockets at Sderot. This time, they are going to try and kill Israeli women and children. Equal opportunity killers.

"Israel's attacks this week display a degree of disproportion and recklessness

There's that word 'disproportion' again. These people must get daily talking points, A UN spokesman said the same thing. That's what war is, is it not, disproportionate attacks until one side can't continue?
If 'Palestinians' would quit shelling Israel, stop all suicide bombings, and other hostilities, and shut up Beasty Boy Ahmahdinijad, they could save the lives of lots of their children, and they could do it with the power on. It ought to be clear by now that this jihad is not really over a Palestinian state at all, but one of 'liquidating Israel', force the whole Israeli nation to resettle in Greenland or face a severe form of dhimmihood. As long as this is, and remains the plan, a 'disproportionate' response is called for. Maybe lots of them...

"Israel's attacks this week display a degree of disproportion and recklessness which has so often characterised Israeli military attacks in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in recent years," he said
....................................

How is Gaza still an "Occupied Palestinian Territory"? This is a ludicrous and politically loaded term, anyway, but it is particularly absurd applied to Gaza.

Israel pulled out of Gaza entirely over two and a half years ago. Gaza now has their own duly elected "government"--the murderous Hamas.

Israel still provides electricity, water and medical supplies--and what country in the world--in the history of the world--has been expected to supply such benefits to enemies sworn to violently wipe them out? And if there is ever any interruption of said benefits, Israel suffers approbium.

I was concerned at the time that Israel's pulling out of Gaza might well make things worse for them, but I didn't realize how much worse it would be. That Israel is still--still--considered an "occupying power" makes the situation all the more fruitless.

No, Malcolm isn't being played for a chump. He knows full well what Hamas is doing. He knows full well that it is against the Geneva Convention and a war crime. He knows full well all these things.

You don't get to be the "director of Amnesty International's Middle East and North Africa Programme" (and all the millions of $ therein) for being stupid or a fool. Malcolm intentionally, and will full knowledge and consent, is supporting Hamas and their war crimes.

It is a huge mistake to 'give' these people anything. Every time Israel has given them anything at all, the involved muslims screw it up. Look at those destroyed greenhouses for example, now Gaza.
Israel should give them nothing but 'what for', until they decide it is better to be the religion of peace for real, and stop faking it...Skinners 'Behavior Modification', idea of ignoring negative behavior and rewarding the good, works well with mental patients, but not at all with Islam, as Israel is discovering (finally), even if Olmert has not yet discovered it.

I was reading the above article and one thing struck me.

"My children and wife are very dear to me," he said. "But reward in Heaven and the homeland are dearer."

Now, for me that shows the mentality of these kind of fanatics that for this one man he is willing to sacrifice his own family's future (wife widowed and kids left without a father and his support) just for a chance for him to get his 72 virgins or whatever the number is. its sickening.

I would die for my wife & kids if they were placed in any kind of danger but i would never leave them to go fight a futile battle i couldn't possibly win and maybe, through my actions, bring harm to them myself.

Some days i just hate the world :/

Typical muslim crud - they do this all the time - claim victory after they get their butts handed to them.

But, in a way it is a victory for them. They will continue to lob bombs into Israel, Israel won't kick them out of Gaza, they will continue to birth new suicide bombers and also use the children as propaganda to show us the utter poverty that is there while they take our hard earned tax monies and buy more bombs and do nothing to govern themselves, etc. And then whine and cry because Israel is sick of giving them electricity and other things just so they can turn around and try to kill their citizens.

Let's review some common Muslim definitions:
Innocent: A Muslim person.
Suicide: Killing yourself for reasons not related to advancement of Islam.
Victim: A Muslim who must interact with a non-Muslim.
and now,
Victory: The result that occurs whenever Muslims battle non-Muslims because martyrs are guaranteed admittance into Allah's eternal orgy.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday announced peace negotiations with Israel would be suspended "until the aggression has stopped."
aggression by who? It seems to me the aggressors here are in fact, the Muslim terrorist organizations in the Middle East in the so-called Palestinian areas. So is Mr.Abbas saying that they will not negotiate until Hamas and Hezbollah stop their aggression. against civilians in Israel
if you believe that will ever happen I have some oceanfront property in Arizona. I will sell

"The enemy has been defeated," said a Hamas spokesman
is funny how the air in mind of Muslim terrorist organizations. [Air in the minds because they don't have a brain it would seem)
always seem to turn their defeat by the Israeli armed forces into victories. At least in their alleged minds

"On the verge of tears, his wife, who did not want to be named, sat in silence. "I know Jihad is a religious duty, but we need you. I need you and the children do, too," she said."
-from reuters article by Sm0ka

You have to wonder what she will teach her children about jihad if she "knows" it's a religious duty, and whether or not she qualifies as a "moderate Muslim".
Her husband believes he's on a mission from God. Someone taught that to him, and it was before al qaeda ever came into existence. What will be her children's excuse?

When the fan is finally spattering offensive material all over everything, no one will be paying attention to what Amnesty International says or rules on.

What and who made Amnesty International and other NGOs the arbiters of modern warfare?

The UN has turned into a body that has that function. As long as we (the US) has that abomination (the UN) on its territory and supports it financially, it (the UN) must be used for such functions as sanctioning Iran for its nuclear development.

As to Hamas's "victory" in Gaza, the cost of that "victory" to Hamas was much too low. Future "victories" must cost Hamas thousands, not a little over 100.

The Hamas "victories" must result in the complete destruction of the Gazan Arabs' capability to launch anything--let alone rockets and missiles--against Israel.

Only then will WE be able to see--do not ascribe such insight to Hamas' slavering leaders--that Hamas' "victories" are as the one of Pyrrhus who is said to have exclaimed after his triumph over the Romans of "One more such victory and I am done!" (paraphrased).

Smoka says:

I was reading the above article and one thing struck me.

"My children and wife are very dear to me," he said. "But reward in Heaven and the homeland are dearer."

That may have struck you, but not half as much as the following piece from that same article struck me:

The 38-year-old furniture salesman says he is not afraid to die for the cause of destroying Israel and forging a Palestinian state on all Israel's territory, the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

What part of the above statement is so difficult for Olmert, his fellow Israelis, and the entire West to understand, and the fact that it seems so difficult to understand exposes the deadly corrosive effect of 35 or 40 years of political correctness in Israel and the West. We have no high calibre leaders here in the West and in Israel, and, worse still, the main candidates for the US Presidency, plus the other alternatives, apart from Netanyahu, are even worse than those currently in power. And if Israel were to fall to the Palestinian savages, there is the massive problem of what will happen to its nuclear warheads. Will they be used as part of a Samson scenario as in 'If we can't live on Israeli soil then nobody will', or will they be turned on the West by the Hamas terrorists in the ultimate terrorist attack?

Sooner or later, the Moslems are going to meet adversaries who are just as ruthless and brutal as they are, someone who doesn't care whether there are civilians living alongside the rocket launchers, someone who doesn't care about inflicting casualties a couple of orders of magnitude greater than those just inflicted by the Israelis.
Of course, in a way, they have already met them: other Moslems. But so far it's only small-scale: 40 at a funeral here, 60 in a market-place there, etc.

Malcolm Smart:""Israel's attacks this week display a degree of disproportion and recklessness which has so often characterised Israeli military attacks in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in recent years," he said."

Utter crap.

It's wonderful the double standards people, who espouse the "disproportion force" line, display.

NATO are no different.

General John Drewienkiewicz -DZ- used the same label when talking of the Serbs attack on the KLA base at Racak -same village that later on became famous for the hoax massacre-

The KLA had 1,400 terrorists, dug in and armed to the teeth in the local vicinity. Armed with automatic weapons and mortars: RBG-500, machine-guns of 7.9 calibre, and also heavy anti-aircraft guns of 12.7-millimetre calibre. Recoilless guns, two light mortars, 60-millimetre calibre, and also of 120 millimetres.

- this was admitted by the KLA regional commander in the Hague, a Shukri Buja -

In the attack by the MUP ( Yugo police ) they fired a couple of rounds from a T55 -circa 1950's that killed no one. All the terrorists were killed in close combat fighting.

To this, General DZ replied

( page 3059 )

"DZ:We saw the Racak operation as being hugely disproportionate in view of the degree of force that was used."

"HUGELY DISPROPORTIONATE"

Malcolm and DZ should get on like a house on fire.

Today Serbia, tomorrow Israel.

The parallels are so similar it's frightening.

"And of course the media abets the spread of this kind of disinformation."

A radical Islamic fundamentalist Muslim Arab supremicist supporting violent jihad against Israel and Westerners (whew) couldn't ask for better propaganda than the Democracy Now radio program, hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. It can be heard nationally on NPR five times a week. They call it a news report, but it's purpose seems to be to shred all things American, and they do it with a vengeance. Every journalistic dirty tactic known to man is relelentlessly used by these posers to sway the listener to hate America and Israel, ultimately blaming them and capitalism for all worldwide violence. Our tax dollars help support this reeking piece of crap, so I urge my fellow citizens to give it a listen and also visit their website at: http://www.democracynow.org/
Warning: you may find yourself screaming at the radio but don't worry, this is a normal reaction when an intelligent brain is assaulted by propaganda which too many others consider news. "Tokyo Rose" is alive and well at NPR, inciting national discord and demoralizing listeners is once again "her" mission. We need to expose this putrid muck for what it is. Many ignorant brains are in need of basic training, so let us instruct unmercifully.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday announced peace negotiations with Israel would be suspended "until the aggression has stopped."

Muslims understand all defensive military actions by infidels to be acts of "aggression," since such actions, intended to repel and defeat the forces of jihad, are sinful acts, preventing shari'a - Allah's law, and the only legitimate code of law - from being established in every corner of the Earth. Not only are the infidel Israelis committing "aggression" by fighting those who are obeying Allah's command to spread Islam throughout the globe, they are incurring the wrath of Allah directly, and Allah's minions, by resisting Islamic hegemony. They have, in the mind of Abbas and his fellow Muslims, committed crimes against God. Defiant Israelis, according to Muslim jurisprudence, have only two acceptable options: conversion to Islam, or acceptance of subjugation and "protection" by Muslim masters. All other actions are "aggressive." (See, for example, Andrew Bostom's book, "The Legacy of Jihad.")
