"Our vetting procedures have to be toughened before it's too late." Yes, but soothing talk about Islamic terrorism as "anti-Islamic activity" won't do that. And identifying "ethnic people" as the problem, as if a Hindu from the subcontinent were just as likely to go to work for a terror group as a Muslim from the subcontinent, is just more of the unreality and inability to face the problem of the Islamic jihad ideology that got them in this fix in the first place.
"MI5 targets four Met police officers 'working as Al Qaeda Spies,'" from the Daily Mail (thanks to Sr. Soph):
Four police officers in Britain's top force are reportedly under close secret service surveillance after being identified as Al Qaeda spies, it emerged today.MI5 are said to have homed in on the the “sleeper” agents passing secrets from Scotland Yard to the terror group only in recent weeks.
The suspected spies are believed to have used methods similar to those employed by the IRA in the 1970s as they infiltrated the police and the Army in Northern Ireland.
All four are understood to be Asians living in London and are feared to have links both with Islamic extremists in Britain and worldwide terror groups - including al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
MI5 chiefs reportedly believe the suspected moles have been planted as sleepers - agents under deep cover - to keep al-Qaeda informed of anti-terror raids planned by London's Metropolitan Police.
They are said to fear the four could have already accessed sensitive information about secret operations to root out terror cells planning further attacks in the UK.
[...]
The police source said: "The IRA tried to infiltrate and they succeeded to a certain extent.
"By just slipping under the radar it takes suspicion away from you.
"If you are a young Pakistani of English origin and you feel you want to do something for the cause of Islam, what better way than to join the enemy and attack from within?"
[...]
MP Patrick Mercer, Tory terrorism advisor, said: "This discovery by MI5 comes as no surprise to me.
"Recruiting ethnic people into key public sector organisations - in place to protect us - is a risk.
"Our vetting procedures have to be toughened before it's too late."

What a revelation, too bad you did not think of that earlier. Actually it's not 'ethnic' people who are the problem, it's Islam. He just turned it into a racial issue, and race is not the problem.
Every western government should be on the lookout for Islamic moles. The US certainly has them. Prouty, and Hesham Islam are just the tip of the iceberg...

I've had the feeling that this has been happening in our military, state department, and even the white house, etc. for a long time now. PC will not let allow investigators to check the backgrounds of people entering sensitive positions, although this is nothing new (it is my opinion that to some degree it started during the Roosevelt administration). It took over 6 months for the investigation when I had to get a Top Secret clearance(TS) when I was assigned to work in Operations Plan. People seem to think that terrorism is something new, well I worked on my bases plan for anti-terrorism back in the 70's so I have first hand knowledge of what terrorism is all about. Before beginning work on the plan myself and several other people from my base who would be working on writing the plan had to attend a course on terrorism. This course was so sensitive that we had to have a TS clearance to even attend the course. Even at that time most of the of the groups that we received briefings on were from the mid-east.
I support our military personnel to the fullest extent, but we need to get out of the mid-east now, because we are not going to change their thinking one bit. I spent three years in Libya just before Gadhafi took control, so I have first hand knowledge of how they think.

This morning from the Beeb, joined by their intellectual communist brethren in China, and article about Islamic terrorism where Islam, Muslims, and their Islamic motivations for waging Jihad are never correlated once in any clear manner. Rather, Islam cleansing obfuscation is the order of the day:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7286028.stm
Gang 'plotted attack on Olympics'
"Suspected militants arrested..."
"Two people have been arrested..."
"Those terrorists, saboteurs and secessionists are to be battered resolutely..."
"Who the people involved in the incident were, where they were from, what their aim was and what their background was, we are now investigating,"
O! Who ARE these mysterious mysterious people, these terrorists, saboteurs, and secessionists! Who are these "gangs"? these "militants"???
Only at the very end are we treated to the obliquest clues, along with the classic formulaic assurance that it all has nothing, NOTHING to do with Muslims, Islam, and all that. Real Muslims would NEVER do stuff like that:
"China has been struggling for years to contain separatist sentiment among the Uighur minority in Xinjiang.
Some Uighurs have campaigned for the mainly Muslim province to become an independent republic.(Aha! -- jsla)
The Xinjiang governor, himself an ethnic Uighur, said only a "very small number of people" in the region support the separatists.
"They don't represent the Uighur people," he added.
So glad that all got cleared up so nicely. Even the "ethnic Uighur" Muslims want us to know that their Islamic terrorists too are only the tiniest minority of extremists. I'm sure those "ethnic Uighurs" are only really pissed off about those poor poor Palestinians, and the horrible way the Jews oppress them...

This government have got absolutley no idea of the threat that islam poses to the UK and the world in general.
I think they are actually at the stage where they beleive their own propaganda.
Sooner or later probably after something dreadful has happened and there are hundreds of dead a law will have to be passed to "revoke" citizenship and deport.
The Telegraph have this story on the subject of "Treason"
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/03/09/ntreason109.xml
Again the Mail article uses the term "asian".

Try hundreds of thousands dead. OBL and his ilk have patience patience patience. Time is on their side. Simultaneous dirty bombs or worse and it will be overwhelming.
1) They have Western technology and oil money at their command.
2) The power of PC and bribery and the sheer idiocy of our leaders.
3) WE are training thousands of Saudis, Paks and other to fly planes, run the most sophisticated computers etc. etc.
4) Above all they have the absolute will to do ANYTHING no matter how unimaginable.

I've been trying to read the Koran (under the aegis of "know thine enemies"), but it is confusing as all get-out.
Does anyone know of a Qur'an that is arranged chronologically (in the logical manner)? That way it would be easier to tell the "abrogated" from the "abrogation."

jewdog's got it right. The politicians need to be vetted more than anyone else. And they should be supervised and re-vetted once a year. They should not be allowed to accept any funds from enemy countries like SOWdi Barbaria, for instance.

"I've been trying to read the Koran (under the aegis of "know thine enemies"), but it is confusing as all get-out."
-- from a poster above
Yes, others have had the same experience. For example, Thomas Carlyle:
". . . I must say, it [the Koran] is as toilsome reading as I ever undertook. A wearisome confused jumble, crude, incondite; endless iterations, long-windedness, entanglement; most crude, incondite; — insupportable stupidity, in short! Nothing but a sense of duty could carry any European through the Koran . . . It is the confused ferment of a great rude human soul; rude, untutored, that cannot even read; but fervent, earnest, struggling vehemently to utter itself in words . . . We said "stupid:" yet natural stupidity is by no means the character of Mahomet's Book; it is natural uncultivation rather. The man has not studied speaking; in the haste and pressure of continual fighting, has not time to mature himself into fit speech . . . The man was an uncultured semi-barbarous Son of Nature, much of the Bedouin still clinging to him: we must take him for that. But for a wretched Simulacrum, a hungry Impostor without eyes or heart . . . we will not and cannot take him. Sincerity, in all senses, seems to me the merit of the Koran; what had rendered it precious to the wild Arab men . . . Curiously, through these incondite masses of tradition, vituperation, complaint, ejaculation in the Koran, a vein of true direct insight, of what we might almost call poetry, is found straggling."
Save for the baseless praise in the last sentence -- for how could Carlyle, who knew no Arabic nor any of the Arab poets of the Jahiliyya with whom to compare, comment on the putative "poetry" of the Qu'ran, or be quick to accept the assurances of enthusiastic Believers as to its supposed surpassing literary merit -- the judgment still stands.

What are you going to do when it's the blind leading the blind? I read that one of Osama Obama's advisors, an ex-general during daddy Bush's day, actually said that Iran was hostile because GW referred to it a member of the axis of evil in his state of the union speech, as though it became so offended that it suddenly veered off into jihad-ville.
What's leading the country now is naive enough; we don't need worse.

This is how the PC lefties and the lickspit managers of police agencies work. It is so cute to hire recruits from the ranks of the ethnics that have a little trouble "assimilating". The Los Angeles Police Department was, and perhaps still is, very anxious to hire officers with sketchy backgrounds who came from these aforementioned and it ended up with a huge criminal scandal on it's hands. Police agencies and our military are not the places to experiment socially but they do it and the result is the same.

Check out the new translations of the Qur’an, Hadiths and Sira that the Center for the Study of Political Islam (CSPI) (http://www.cspipublishing.com/)
has published as three inexpensive paperbacks. The scholars at CSPI have translated these three central texts of Islam into newspaper level English, their translation of the Qur’an has been reorganized into chronological order and these key texts have all been cross referenced to each other to make them very much more intelligible. You can buy them from CSPI or on Amazon at a discount from CSPI’s already reasonable prices.

This was actually foreseen by a LABOUR candidate, almost twenty years ago. He puts the blame on the Labour Party, for wooing Islamic votes in order to win elections. How else to explain Gordon Brown's statement that acts perpetrated in the name of Islam are in reality "un-Islamic"?
In a letter written to the Daily Telegraph on 12/31/1990, Michael Knowles writes:
"In numerous constituencies it is believed that fundamentalist Islam can manipulate the outcome of an election.
A decision must have been made that freedom of speech take second place to electoral success; that not to antagonize certain fundamentalist Moslems is more important than the life of Salman Rushdie.
The leadership has therefore kept quiet and, in so doing, has prostituted for votes the most basic principles of life and liberty.
...
Now we, in this country, are in grave danger of seeing the Labour Party serving the whim of what is, though numerically, a tiny section of the electorate, one that is strategically positioned and ruthless enough to utilize its influence solely to its own advantage.
I never thought I would work for more than 20 years for the principles of the Labour movement before witnessing its leadership and parliamentary party abandoning some of them so shamelessly in order to achieve ephemeral electoral success."
(from "Why I Am Not a Muslim", by Ibn Warraq)
Why do the British people put up with this? Is Labour really the lesser of two evils? Are the Conservatives just as bad when it comes to placating Islamists?

LONDON, June 23 -- London needs another 2,000 Muslim police officers, Britain's most senior police officer said Thursday.
London Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair also defended the rise in stop and search of Muslim suspects and said they would continue.
In an interview with the "Muslim News" newspaper, Sir Ian said "What I really need is more Muslim police officers.
"We've got 200 to 300 members in the Muslim Police Association. I want as many as I can get.
AND WHAT DO WE GET
MP Patrick Mercer, Tory terrorism advisor, told us last night: "This discovery by MI5 comes as no surprise to me.
"Recruiting ethnic people into key public sector organisations— in place to protect us—is a risk.
"Our vetting procedures have to be toughened before it's too late."
AND THE BEAT GOES ON
It seems that they cannot be sacked:
Up to eight police officers and civilian staff are suspected of links to extremist groups including Al Qaeda.
Some are even believed to have attended terror training camps in Pakistan or Afghanistan.
Their names feature on a secret list of alleged radicals said to be working in the Metropolitan and other forces.
The dossier was drawn up with the help of MI5 amid fears that individuals linked to Islamic extremism are taking advantage of police attempts to increase the proportion of ethnic staff.
Astonishingly, many of the alleged jihadists have not been sacked because - it is claimed - police do not have the “legal power” to dismiss them.
THATS RIGHT, THEY CAN NOT BE SACKED
YET
This is unbelievable because these people are Jihadists with all that implies for our country
EVEN MORE MORE UNBELIEVABLE IF YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THIS
Police chiefs today issued a warning to all their officers that they would be sacked for being members of the British National Party.
The Association of Chief Police Officers outlawed joining the far right BNP for any officer or civilian member of police staff in England and Wales.
Acpo President Chris Fox said he was personally “extremely pleased” by the move.
Mr Fox said: “Under this policy no member of the police service, whether police officer or police staff, may be a member of an organisation whose constitution, aims, objectives or pronouncements contradict the general duty to promote race equality.
“This specifically includes the BNP and we anticipate that non-compliance will result in dismissal.”
Acpo introduced the policy through a change to regulations which govern the conduct of police and support staff and it was unanimously backed at a meeting of chief constables earlier this month.
Police officers are not allowed to be members of the BNP, which is widely seen as being racist and which has members with convictions for violence. The policy was passed by police chiefs three years ago. They say membership of the party is incompatible with officers’ duties under race equality laws.
Membership of the BNP is incompatible with officers’ duties under race equality laws.” So, isn’t a Jihadist, member of al Quada or being an Islamist incompatible with officers’ duties under race equality laws?
Police who are members of a legal political party can be dismissed because it is racist and has members who have committed violent crimes. But are Jihadists not the most racist scum bags on the planet murdering thousands of innocent people all over the planet?
The moslems are a threat to our society, the BNP is not - unless you’re a left wing dhimmi or a journalist in the MSM.
Allowing Jihadists to stay in the police force is tantamount to a bloke in full German uniform being employed in the war office during WW2. They’re Jihadists, and they’re Muslims. How much more information do they need to sound the alarm?

The Muslim Police Association? Are there also separate Christian, Jewish, HIndu, etc. Police Associations? How can it be legal for law enforcement to organize professionally based on their religious beliefs?
Don't they serve the general public? This sounds totally misguided (red flag!) on all levels.

The poor Brits, their nation hasn’t been overrun since the Normans invaded her in1066; now, they find themselves awash with subversives, er Jihadist, imported and home-grown. Comrade Brown, and his equally, pathetic, predecessor Comrade Blair, has done more to spell the ruination of this, once upon a time, great nation and democracy in a, mere, decade.
It, surely, comes as no surprise or shock that subversives have wormed their way into the police force or breached other security agencies. New-Labour has unabashedly kowtowed to the Muslims within and without the UK, especially, the former.
The rot has set in thanks to the perfidious leadership of Comrade Brown and his equally perfidious comrades.
Frankly, I view New Labour as collaborationists – perhaps this is too extreme a view. Time, however, may well prove this true.
Any fellow Brits out there please do not think of me as smug, as I am not: all Western-Democracies are suffering the same malignancy… choosing political-correctness over their nation’s survival.

Dear Britons.. please grow a set and VOTE B.N.P. next election. Do it now - while voting in secret is still available.
There is no bigger problem facing Europe than islam.
Hence you MUST hold your nose and vote BNP. Many countries do not even offer any party that has a clear stand on islam like the B.N.P. has.
Just look at the USA. The "conservative" Republican Juan MexiCAIRn is the closest choice we have to somneone who is willing to take the fight to the enemy. I really see a bleak future ahead. I only pray and hope that Rudy Giuliani and some of the saner elements can get the Senator's ear. But I've heard how famously stubborn the the old terrorist-coddling codger is..
So please, dear Britons.. you held out against Hitler when everyone else had long caved in and succumbed.. Your fighting spirit finally caught on in America and the rest is History..
I don't think Germans - based on our History - will have the balls to be the first to elect a party with an anti-islam agenda at its core... nor will the French.. just look at "et toi" Sarko.. and you see what I mean. Get out the waffle irons in Gay Paree..
The Dutch are closing ranks against the brave intrepid Geert Wilders but I am afraid that country will never form a vast majority vote against islam first.
And I wouldn't put any money on Spain either..
You Britons are the only ones who I believe can do it. You have the full-fledged Chamberlains in office now and darker days are ahead for us all..
But you are also closest to finally casting off the PC yoke and vote in a party which has the clear goal of de-islamizing Great Britain.
If you take the lead, I know the others will follow. What are the police chiefs going to do - accompany their officers into the voting booths?
We're all quite fed up and many are angry yet most remain silent for fear of being tagged with a nasty little label.
Once a major country gets a sizable anti-islam party in power the agenda will be clearly on the table. Noone will be able to ignore it or downplay the will of the People any longer.
I read the reader feedback in many British publications online like the Guardian and several others.. and in Germany even the *leftwing* media are getting an earful - or should I say an eyeful - from an increasingly aware and consequently alarmed public.
The situation as it is now can not go on forever.
The B.N.P. has its share of critics. I have no idea how "racist" they really are since that's a convenient label which is often used to silence opposition and to quelch uncomfortable foes.
I've heard they are opening up to Hindus and others who are fellow victims of islam.
besides, I must say that a lot of what I see going on in Europe is racist. Racist against the native peoples that is.
do you want to support that racism just so that others won't label you?
You may not pay the price in your lifetime.
Your children will.

Agreed. But how are we going to change the thinking of the people in charge of the U.S.? In the EU, the UK?
Getting out of the Middle East is do-able--withdraw our troops, stop trying to force the Israelis to commit suicide--but we're still stuck with having to buy Saudi oil.
Then, the "Middle East" is not only "over there"--geographically--it is here, in the U.S., in Europe, in the UK. It exists in the minds of the "Middle-Easterners" (read Islamics, Moslems) who have infiltrated our government, universities, schools, miltary, etc. We--and the rest of the Western world--have sizable and rapidly-expanding Moslem populations.
As you know how "they" think--the Middle-Easterners (read Islamics, Moslems)--you know that they will never give up their dream of making the world Islamic, unless we do something that no one dares think, let alone put into words.
