The unity of the umma is one of the primary goals of the jihadist movement in general. And once the umma is unified, there will be no legal barriers (from either a Sunni or a Shi'ite standpoint) to offensive jihad against the West. Today, you see, Islamic spokesmen often say that Osama et al have no legal authority to wage jihad. That is just a dodge, since no legal authority is needed to wage defensive jihad, which is the way Osama has presented his case to the Islamic world. But it is also noteworthy that Khamenei and Osama and so many others so desire to restore the unified authority that would allow for the waging of offensive jihad. "Islamic world will become global power though unity: Supreme Leader," from IRNA (thanks to Twostellas):
The Islamic world could become a major global power through unity and promotion of all-out cooperation, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday.Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who concluded his visit to Iran later in the day....
"The world of Islam can become a global power through unity and promotion of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation," stressed the supreme leader.
Criticizing Washington for using force against other countries, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Submission to hegemony of world arrogance is the cause of their backwardness."...

If the West is backward, how is it that they excel in everything that the Muslim world doesn't?
As usual, the usual garbage spewing forth from such mouths.
Their idea for unity is silly in itself. These guys have shown to have no respect for each other and murder each other all the time. I can't see the Muslim world uniting as one, however they do generally when it comes to hating Jews.

Re backward: Isn't there an assertion in the infallible Koran about the earth being flat, along with some other progressive scientific facts.
Wife beating is forward, and stonng adulterers, sandwich-wrapping women, amputation for theft, beheading Infidels and waging wars of conquest for the Faith - very forward.
Gald to be backward, thx.

Evidently, President Yudhoyono is not concerned that Khamenei the Supreme Bleeder of the Islamic Revulsion is in truth a stinking Shi'ite heretic, bound for hell and Allah's most exquisitely cruel tortures, but hey, business is business.
at March 12, 2008 8:53 AM
hehe The West is backward? Well, that explains why millions of muslims would rather live in a dump in the West rather than living in welth in islamic lands?
And that is why they come to study in the "backward West", rather than in lands occupied by Muslims?
Islamic projection never ceases to amaze me.
Who do they think they are fooling? Not the West, and certainly not the Western-educated Muslims.

"The Islamic world could become a major global power through unity and promotion of all-out cooperation"
This is pure wishful thinking and you would be forgiven for saying that the man who uttered it is living in cloud cuckoo land.
There are far too many different sects in islam for them to all live in unity - what with the Salafists thinking all other muslims are apostates for example.
Then you have the Jihadi against Jihadi Jihad.
They are even killing each other over cartoons for gawds sake.

Really? Please provide examples to substantiate your statement.
One example is the technique used to make luxury glass and ceramics that became popular during the Renaissance. These techniques were actually based on Middle Eastern techniques used in the first Millennium CE. Italy's location and number of major ports made it a popular destination for imports from the Middle East, many of which were studied and copied by Italian artisans.
In large part, the Arab world filled the gap created by the fall of Rome and the European Dark Ages as the influence of Roman and Greek thought had a profound impact on the area, particularly Alexander's conquest of much of the Middle East. The expansion of the Arab nations led to a "Golden Age" for the Middle East with artistic and scientific endeavors flourishing. Many medical texts were translated from Arabic and served as texts for European medical schools through much of the renaissance and beyond.
In a sense, the Renaissance was a rebirth instituted in large part by preservation and continued advancement in the Arab world after Europe fell into the Dark Ages. Of course, this is not a comment on religion but rather culture. The Fall of Rome did serious harm to the culture of Europe while the Middle East was thriving.

Perhaps Mr. Spencer or Hugh can comment on the above - I really want to know if there's truth there or just a bunch of PC BS.
I mean, "technique used to make luxury glass and ceramics." --Is that true, if so, what "technique," and, is it all that important?

Kicking The Oil Addiction
Woolsey Drives off in a 100 MPG plug in Hybrid
Cutting Edge Staff March 12th 2008
Jim Woolsey and President Bush
Jim Woolsey and President Bush.
In a special ceremony at the massive Washington International Renewable Energy Conference Former CIA Director and Set America Free co-founder Jim Woolsey picked up the keys to his newly converted Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle.
Woolsey's Prius was upgraded by Watertown, MA-based A123 Systems using an advanced Lithium-Ion battery developed at MIT. The conversion allows the Prius to achieve 100+ MPG and travel up to 40 miles on predominantly electric drive from one overnight charge. Each charge takes about 4 hours and costs about 65 cents in suburban Maryland.
"And if my Prius had an ethanol, other alcohol, or bio-based diesel engine using 85 percent biofuels," said Woolsey, "I would get close to 500 mpg on the petroleum fuel in the engine."
Woolsey's auto upgrade came on the same day that the 13-nation Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries rejected requests from America to increase oil production. As a result, petroleum that day close at $104.52 per barrel, and continues to soar upward. The former CIA chief and now alt energy champion told a panel of carmakers and other vehicle design experts that average consumers paying at the gas stations were responsible for sending young Pakistani boys to madrassas to become suicide bombers. He asserted that Saudi Arabia finances more than 90 percent of radical Islamic education and that country's prime income source was oil. Woolsey also addressed a seminar on energy security sponsored by the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, moderated by Gal Luft.
President George Bush dropped by to take a look at Jim's newly converted plug in hybrid vehicle and admired its bumper sticker: “Bin Laden Hates This Car." Bush also stated, "America is in the lead when it comes to energy independence." He did not explain what he meant.

darcy -
You should read Fjordman's essay on that topic.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/018368.php
Even in Europe's "Dark Ages" I believe they were still farther along than the muslims.
If you have ever read postings by muslims from the middle east with all their spelling errors due to the lack of vowels in arabic, you would question the whole translation of texts story that keeps getting repeated.
And just because Rome was defeated, why would the books of the empire, which by then had circulated throughout Europe, not still be available? Especially medical books? Did Greek and Roman 'thought' stop just because the empire was no longer? Unlikely.
Anything from the middle east after islam was from them plundering it and bringing it home, or from their captives being able to preserve it.
Look to the far east for the origin of the techniques of ceramics.
Italy's own Marco Polo went through the middle east and commented that there was nothing to be found but murderers, liars and thieves.
Even the new world was discovered because the merchants could not safely pass through the middle east on their way to the far east and they were looking for a safer route. Not a shorter route - a safer route.
Muslims take credit for many things that, if one really looks closely, just don't make sense.

While the accusation of backwardness is foolish, the basic premise that the Muslim world would become a world power if unified is something worth considering.
It took a long time after WWII, for Europe to truly unify and the attempts at unification have mostly been successful economically. Politically Europe still does not know how to act as a unified political force. Despite the existence of Islam as a unifying ideology, the Islamic world has done a poor job of unifying when it has had a chance to do so. Rather than unifying, educating their Arab neighbor and importing them as laborers and future citizens the Arab oil states still import most of their labor. They import much of their skilled labor from non-Muslim countries. In any event by and large they don't offer citizenship to their immigrants. To get from this current state to a future unified state seems a long way off at best.

Well, it is obvious their idiots will believe anything. They believe the koran is a holy book and the word of god. They think that murder is a way to get to their idea of heaven.
I don't need to go on. ME doesn't stand for Middle East, it stands for 'mindless ediots' - ok, I am pushing it a little bit but you get the drift. And I will also include that they are dangerous 'mindless ediots'.
Thanks Borg for the pointers to those archives. I am printing them off for reading when I am on Bart.
Much of the lacks is very obvious just by what we see in the middle east and this is even after the oil was making some of them rich. The most sought after degree in the University isn't a degree in something that will put bread on the tabel - it is islamic studies. saudi arabia's largest export besides oil are jihadists. And what do we hear of countries who have adopted sharia law in the last 1-30/40 years? That the children are not learning to do math or read anything other than the koran. All this will lead to are more jihadists and backwards countries. Look at the palestinians for another example - what do they push their children to be? bombs. Go on youtube and you can find a whole bunch of what palestinian children are learning - to hate Jews, the West and infidels in general; they wear fake suicide belts and vests; some children are already beheading people - those same are learning how to be jihadists and use weapons too.
This is what islam is all about. And the apologists ignore all of it or prefer to stay ignorant of it, and the 'moderates' either chose ignorance or lie about it.

We need to start seriously thinking about this change over to new technology.
They are running hydrogen buses already.
Why don't they work on a Tri-brid car? Something that uses three types of power so that the range is vastly improved? And what about the Volt car that could refuel it's electric engine in just a few seconds? Why not use that refueling technique for electric energy?
40 miles wouldn't get most commuters to DC. Or London if they got stuck in traffic if the miles also equals time running.
There needs to be a massive "Manhattan" project put together to get it rolling.

And take a look at the Hydrogen Hummer car.
New ideas are being worked on and some are ready to go.

No its not PC BS lol. I can tell you that ornate glasswares are particularly popular around souks in syria and egypt, if you've been?, if not you should check it out, they are beautiful. I think the technique the article is referring to is dying the glass with a metal stains, copper and silver and other metals to make a deep colours and decorations on the glass. I believe this was supposed to have started in egypt. Was there a golden islamic age, when islam dominated culture, science and medicine? Yes, of course in the ummayyads, there is literature, art, and architecture, to substantiate that from the middle east, west africa, south asia, sourthern europe and into spain. A vast area. islamic art from the period can even be found in many museams in america. i'm certain you're not far from one. also i think what this article refers to is dar al islam, which i can try to translate to english as a islamic compound, that allah's (allah just means god in arabi, in the bible translated in arabi you will find allah all through it), subhana wata ala intention is that the dar al islam should expand to the entire world. i think this muslim belief is not much different than the christian one. only the christians have actively spread chritianity through missionaries and colonialism all over the world to this day, which offer food and shelter to native peoples in exchange for them accepting jesus alahi salaam as their savior. so for them to get the food, it is conditional on them to convert their religion, or at the very least to learn about christianity. which i as a muslim dont think right and fair. Zakat should be offered unconditionally to whomever needs it the most. this is what muslims believe. so many muslims hope inshallah, as i share this hope, that the world will be islamic one day, christians hope the world will be christian. i dont think this is new news?, but why we not critizicing the christians for spreading their religion,
and finally the concept of jihad doesnt really have to do with dar al islam. its quite daf how the word jihad is thrown all over on this site as a shock word, the authors seem to love that word lol. the arabi translation for jihad just means striving for gods cause this really has nothing to do with war or holy war or whatever its supposed to mean in this site? in arabi jihad can have many many meanings, for example it can be waking for fajr early in the morning, but it do not mean war. the word for war in arabi is called qital. it's "qital" people lol! so it would be holy qital or just qital whatever you want to say, but jihad does not make sense, please stop it, its just silly.
have an open mind and lets be peaceful and respectful to one another

"The world of Islam can become a global power through unity and promotion of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation," stressed the supreme leader.
Of course the unspoken truth here is that Iran must provide that "unity"-the supreme simian wouldn't want some dirty Sunnis running the ummah.
After all, only Shiites are the correct Koranists by his reckoning.
at March 12, 2008 10:55 AM
"but why we not critizicing the christians for spreading their religion,"
- because we don't subjugate people if they are not Christian
- our laws don't allow for us to kill, rape, enslave, steal, lie - and that goes for anyone not of our religion also.
- we allow others to build and repair their places of worship
- we don't allow our children to abuse others because they are not of our religion
- we don't tell women they have to wear tents or scarves if they do not want to wear them
- we don't stone or hang women because they are whatever a male thinks they should be or not
- we don't do 'honor killing's because the females of the house are whatever a male thinks they should be or not
- the last two points go to our laws where we take anyone who does such things and puts them in jail, gives them a trial and if guilty metes out punishment
- we don't tax people at higher rates because they are not of our religion
- there are other things but the above are some major differences between a Christian law vs muslim law.
Basically muslims want to control every aspect of a human's life - we believe in freedoms - something very much against islam. Muslims are not able to question their koran, they intimidate us not to question it which we should not be cowtowing to - we should question it and demand that muslims stop their imperialist goals.
Muslims are allowed to lie in dar al harb, and so what happens is what I do - I don't believe any of them unless they say what I know to be true. If they say something I have not heard before I don't believe them until I research it.
I find islam disgusting and I don't think they should be shoving it onto ANYONE!
at March 12, 2008 11:09 AM
Indonesia was certainly converted by muslim missionaries. And Malaysia.
Jihad doesn't really have to do with Dar al islam. No, it has to do with Dar al harb. Just ask Spain. And India. And why were muslims going to France? And heading to Vienna? Oh, for trade! From the backwards people, right?
Mohammad used jihad as war. Convert or die to non-muslims sounds like 'Holy war'. Sorry if it doesn't translate that way to you, Talib. We all know that Arabic just doesn't translate properly, don't we?
Christian missionaries use good works to show the good deeds of their faith, like their leader and founder did.
Muslims use the sword to show their faith like their leader and founder did. Only now they are using bombs.
Even the keeper of the faith of Arabia has a sword on it's flag. To show how peaceful it is.

I have no idea how it works, but my son, using instructions he got from somewhere, build this device that is powered by two AA batteries. He says it develops so much power he is afraid of it. His application is held together with tape and cardboard, he says he needs steel and some kind of protective shield. I don't have details, but he is building this in his garage, and is worried about blowing the place up, from two AA batteries.
I don't think this is free energy, but it is getting out a lot more than is put in...

Talib, there are so many lies in your comment, so much "taqiyya." For one, without any doubt, "Jihad" is "Islamic Holy War." That is the primary definition, with the famous "internal struggle" secondary or even 3rd or 4th in importance. If you think you can fool Jihad Watchers' with your BS, you're a conceited fool.
Now, the enormous irony of your statement above is that you people, Mohammedans, have closed minds, you're not peaceful, and you show no respect toward anyone but your own Mohammedan selves. I mean, just who do you think you're fooling? You're not fooling anyone on JW - we're not a bunch of PC MoonBats!
Recommendation:
People, I'd like to let you know of a great book, and one which RS has endorsed:
"The West's Last Chance," by Tony Blankley (2005). I'm reading it now.
Here is RS's "blurb" on the first inside page:
"Tony Blankley's breadth of vision and understanding are breathtaking: Few others have the courage or insight needed to tell you just how deep a fix the Western world is in, or to offer practical and useful solutions for its salvation. Blankley does all this and more with admirable eloquence, erudition, and wit."
People, buy Blankley's book today! Also, I recommend it as a "beginning" book for someone you're trying to enlighten re the threat of Islam.
Also, Blankley uses the word "Mohammedan," a fave of mine and others' on JW. On page 6, for example, he says, "Spain's Mohammedan conquerers.."

Now, who invented the Internet that you happen to be using today?
And, how 'bout that car you drive? How 'bout that train you board? How 'bout that radio, TV, and cell phone you own? How 'bout that airplane you take? How 'bout those medicines and various products in your bathroom cabinet? Or, do you follow the "Drink camel piss for every ailment" Rx of Mohammed? How 'bout that camera you own, and/or the camera in your cell phone? How 'bout that electricity you have in your dwelling?
Talib, all created by the West. Just think, if there were no West, all we'd have is that pottery technique. Which I'm sure is lovely. No doubt.

Talib,
Thank you for your comments.
Mother Teresa once said:
"Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus."
When asked if she tried to convert people to Christianity, her reply was that she did not. Rather, she only showed them the love of Jesus. And in doing so, some would seek Him.
On a personal note, I must disagree with your statement:
"so for them to get the food, it is conditional on them to convert their religion, or at the very least to learn about christianity."
Lastly, there is an important distinction between "Christianity" and "Religion".

Talib, all created by the West. Just think, if there were no West, all we'd have is that pottery technique. Which I'm sure is lovely.
No it is not (lovely). It is as boring, primitive and monotonous as the Arab music.
And Talib. If you were leading at just about everything at so early stage of history you should by now had left the West in the dust. Shouldn't Islam today be an intellectual, scientific, economic, cultural, military hyper power?
So how come your Islam is today such a pathetic, diseased, miserable beggar surviving on the alms of the West?
Islam has always been a robber and thief of the intellectual fruit of conquered cultures. You supported yourself with stolen goods. Just like your murderous robbing prophet.
Unfortunately for you the West has broken your stealing arms and legs a few hundred years ago and since then you can't support yourself by robbery anymore. So in order not to starve to death and to drown in your dirt you had to resort to begging.
Which is OK with us as long as Islam is a nice, well behaving beggar.
So dear Islam; be grateful and shut up, or we will suspend the alms-giving until you improve your manners.

God Bless Mother Teresa! But that isn't what Jesus did. Jesus said to go out and make disciples, not just show His love to others; and if Jesus merely walked around loving people without posing any questions or challenges to them, then where would Christianity be? Christ approached people and asked them to follow him. We are to do the same: approach men/women and ask them to follow Christ, and to love them in the process.

Rnot and Borg,
in due respect I just dont understand where you learning these things, and i know its not just the two of you ? Listen, I have the thankful privilege to live and travel a great deal around this world, and i have my u.s. citizenship and i respect this country and the kindness of its people, and im not afraid of the tradition of debate, but honestly i must say and unfortanatly make a generalisation that the misconceptions you have about islam seem to be mostly, strangly, unique, if i may use that word, to americans, but i know definitely not all americans share these views, but you really tend to only hear these things which are really strange to me, from americans usually, not in a mean way often, but they really believe these things. im being quite honest, and i just dont understand it, where does it come from? please tell me? you hit most of the ones ive heard before, and im going to tell you that straight out its not islam what you saying, its not islam and 99% of the 2 billion muslims would think these misconceptions as silly rubbish. know this. countries have problems, in the west and the east this is a fact, you can tell me bad stories about the east, i can tell you bad stories about the west, some i can tell you first hand, my house has been vandalized, nothing has never been found, ive heard things at my workplace which i ignored, so has my wife, we had problems praying in public, sometimes i must say the issues with praying in public can be quite humourous, not all bad. well .. if you want for me to explain and debate a particular misconception that you have i will be happy to, but im not going to waste my time on all of them. those things dont happen in most muslim countries, and islam was not spread by missionaries in indonesia, thats a complete makeup. i know my history. i can tell you from my personal experience and pictures that churches are being built as we speak back home in the gulf, and christians are worshipping, working, and living there quite happily and proudly. i can also tell you first hand from personal experience and pictures that jews and christians live in Iran, have always lived in iran, they have nice, churches, synogogues, christmas trees, and are quite happy and proud to be iranian. I can tell you everywhere ive traveled and lived that while there may be a dislike for the american government, they love and respect americans and their ideals, and that most definitly includes iran. yes its not perfect, there are issues with religion, , but problems can be found in the east and west, and i think i covered that. again if you want to debate the misconceptions i will but please one at a time.

Besides, there is enough oil in the North Sea, North America under Greenland and South America. It will cost more to use, but that is only until the West (who else?) develops alternative energy sources. And it seems we are well on the way.

The world of Islam can become a global power through unity and promotion of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation," stressed the supreme leader.
No doubt Khamenei wants to pick up "Islamic science" where they left off in the middle ages, and reject the so called "advances" of the infidels. You know, those insignificant contributions the West has made over the last five centuries in literature, music, physics, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, food production, manufacturing, communications, electronics, economics, standards of living, and of course, that little thing we like to call freedom.
So, we don't have to worry about reactors, enrichment facilities, or ballistic missile research in Iran, just advances in steel making for scimitars, the invention of rifling in firearms, and better horsemanship techniques.
Sure, it's possible "the world of Islam can become a global power" by uniting. But it's also possible, and I would argue, far more likely, that it will wind up re-colonized or extinct.

talib says "im going to tell you that straight out its not islam what you saying, its not islam and 99% of the 2 billion muslims would think these misconceptions as silly rubbish. know this."
Do go on. There is no difference of opinion in the mainstream schools of Islamic law as to what Jihad is. It is clearly defined as warfare against non-Muslims to establish the religion. It is obligatory as a "right of Allah" until the end of days, until the religion (Islam) is established over earth. There is no mention, not one, in the discourse on Jihad in "Reliance of the Traveller" for example, of an inner spiritual struggle or anything else but fighting, but fighting can involve many instruments besides qital, physical combat, to expand the realm of Islam at the expense of non-Islam. Also note the prominence given by the great scholars to Surah Nine in defining the Jihad, they recognize it is the last and therefore controlling "revelation" on this matter. And what do you make of the laws on Apostasy or the dhimmi (inferior) status for non-Muslims (and women)? Silly rubbish, maybe. But do 99% of Muslims agree that Sharia is rubbish? How much of the Qur'an and Sunnah does that make rubbish then?

I agree wholeheartedly Talib. Unfortunately, those words you wrote should be recited while looking in the mirror or at your local mosque amongst your brethren, not here.
Allah forbids an open mind. Allah demands submission to his will. Your prophet did not practice what you preach. He was neither peaceful nor respectful to others. This is the role model for Islamists.

Such is Islamic insanity, that they believe their own lies.
"The world of Islam can become a global power through unity and promotion of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation," stressed the supreme leader.- from the article
Criticizing Washington for using force against other countries, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Submission to hegemony of world arrogance is the cause of their backwardness."
Let’s count the ways Islam’s arrogance is “superior” to the West's over the past four decades:
-we put men on the moon, Mohammedans put women in burqqas
-we developed jet travel, Mohammedans fly them into buildings to kill all aboard
-we developed worldwide telephone communications, Islamics use cell phones to detonate bombs
-we developed rocket technology to go into space, Mo’s greatest build primitive rockets to bomb Israel
-we developed medicine to cure diseases worldwide, Islamics train their children to blow up for Jihad
-we developed the arts and films, Hamas TV shows children calling for jihad against _________ (you name it)
-we developed freedom of expression and religion, Mo’s best riot over silly cartoons of their warlord (pbuh) prophet
-we developed computer science and internet, Islamics use their ‘science’ to do da’wa and spread taqqyia on the web
-we generously help those in need during times of crisis, Muslim oil states gouge out highest oil prices in history
-we developed Arab oil wells for manufacturing and transportation, Mo’s toons developed the car bomb and roadside explosives
-we improved high yield agriculture to feed the world, Muslims tend to goat and camel herding
-we improved treatment of the handicapped, Mo’s greatest used mental patients to blow up in pet markets
- we developed the Universal Human Rights, Mohammedans kill their wives and sisters for ‘honor’
-we put satellites in space to better forecast weather, Mo’s greatest die by the thousands from monsoon floods
-we developed world market systems, Mohammedans developed the suk
-we developed high speed computing, Mo's best developed five calls to Allah daily
-we developed the iPod, Mo's toons torch music stores
Really, what insanity to think they in their primitive arrogance are in any way superior to the West. Put them all together in their “unified” Ummah, and all you get is a unified insanity worship of some 7th century desert Arab barbarian’s idea of “civilization”. It is not in any remote way civilized to kill for their pagan god Allah.
There is only one way Mohammedans are better than us in their barbaric behavior:
collective criminal insanity.
It disgusts to run a comparison. They can take their "peace" and shove it.

So I take it Talib that you won't debate the misconceptions one at a time, as you requested?
The first misconception is your fuzzy math and your outright lie to the meaning of Jihad. There are hundreds upon hundreds of articles here that quote Islamists using the actual word Jihad exactly in the context that it is presented here.
So, I ask you, shouldn't you be correcting them?

The single most important thing the United States could do to stop Iran's agenda of destruction to gain global dominance is to deploy a pre-emptive strike using an electromagnetic pulse weapon over the Islamic republic's airspace. THAT would stop the mullahs from deploying their nuclear missiles (because of course it would destroy their infrastructure with which they could launch them) and it might well stop anyone else from assisting them in their quest to achieve global domination. Of course there are about a dozen or so other countries that are up to no good and probably deserve the same fate (in no particular order they are Russia, China, Pakistan, North Korea, Venezuela, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Bosnia and several others).
Of course, that old idiot Bush is going to order an INVASION OF Iran which is just about the worst thing the United States military could possibly do to try to stop Iran (which is just too big and would be like the Germans' invasion of Russia and wouldn't likely stop the mullahs right away or from the mullahs' sending missiles to Syria or some other ally of theirs for immediate deployment) and botch everything to hell--Just watch.
If Obama wins the presidency, the USA is going to get nuked by these idiots over there (he won't retalliate). The only consolation is that the Code Pinkers will be the first to go up in smoke as they lack sufficient IQs to stop their "protests' and get out of the fallout rain.

After 1400 years of fighting the barbaric cult of Islam, some 'open-minded' social engineers and other manipulative utopians in western governments opened the floodgates and allowed Muhammedan mass- migration, which has become a nightmare for all Western countries.
We cannot coexist. Islam, the Koran, Muhammedans themselves, are opposed to it.
Islam is a cancer that destroys our society. Now its time to reverse this trend.

From "Radical Eye For The Infidel Guy" by Kevin J Ryan (a great, funny book, by the way, and it has a nice blurb from RS on the back):
"Of course, there is the troubling problem of the success of the West. Thus, much of the [Islamic] educational system is geared toward pointing up the West's moral inferiority. Much of the propaganda coming out of the Islamic world (that isn't directed toward the Jews) is about the immorality and decadence of the West. Thus, if radicals can claim no other superiority to America, they can claim moral authority because of their pious devotion to punitive amputations and the stoning of rape victims."

There is indeed a memory lapse about the build up to WWII. The frightening support and undue respect that today's promoters of "multiculturalism" and political correctness give to the Koran, Islam, and the resurgent nazism of sharia is alarming. The would-be Hitlers of Iran are leading the Islamic world into a confrontation with the West with the same fervor and overconfidence used by Hitler in WWII. Germany's destruction in WWII and the accompanying tens millions of deaths should give you a little pause to think about the likely outcome.
Why would you support it?
Now today its the acceptance of racial, ethnic, and religous hatred against muslims, arabs and south asians perpetrated on the internet, but looking at history it should be taken seriously, and should be exposed.
Get real. This is one of the most egregious examples of psychological projection I've witnessed, and the absurdity of these types of claims is becoming obvious to more people every day.
"Acceptance of racial, ethnic, and religous hatred against muslims, arabs and south Asians"?
Hell, we just went though a primary season where one of the political parties was so worried they might offend someone that Islam, jihad, and sharia weren't even mentioned. Nick Danger, and all others,
respectfully, rirst point, and for the last time on the word jihad. So remember this, and i cant help it if you dont believe me, this is really what it mean. then you and the authors can go back to using it in all your misunderstood ways, i think its funny, and also making up new works like, jihadist?
ok have you heard of the arabi word jahada, it means to strive in english, and like I said above. this is the derivation of jihad, so jihad or the concept of jihad is then struggle striving in the way of God, and has many many meanings. you can struggle in the way of God SWT in many ways. Some of the more difficult ways are standing in an oral debate of Islam with proof and evidence to non Muslims (dawah), taking care of family and raising children, it can also mean fighting in defense of muslims and God physically with weapons, of course it can mean that, but that is really the final stage and is what you would consider warring which again is called qital.
on it being used in the site and its sources in english to mean war, so thats what it must mean. is that solid logic ? can you concede that the articles and sources have a bit of negative bias towards muslims, give me a break, im honestly telling you what it means again, i dont care if you beleive me or not
if anyone sees a wrong let him change it with his hands, if he cant let him change it with his voice, if he cant let him hate the wrong in his heart, beyond that there is no faith. Mohammad alahi salaam
I attempted to correct the wrong usage of the arabi word jihad on this website today with my hands on the laptop.
What I said is quite clear and understandable so I won't revisit jihad, i have nothing more to say on this subject, and prefer to move on to another point, but not today.
Good night

RalphInfidel,
perhaps you should do so some reading into history on the organized support of nazi germany by many americans and in americans like Henry Ford instead of completely avoiding my comment by saying you have a memory lapse. what is that? I think the parallels to whats happening today is quite clear, to muslims on the internet and media and in partular in palestine and is sad and frightening
also the comparison of Nazi Germany to countries like Iran or Palestine is just absurd and insulting. please explain more how you substatiate this? i dont agree with ahmedinajad on many issues mainly internal, like inflation, jobless rate, pollution, and corruption are all big problems in iran. he should be focusing on those issues, but for every crazy statement that has come out of his mouth, i can find one said by a western leader threatening iran, so it a war of words, and your hearing one side, again nothing new is it? to this day there is no proof that iran is developing a nuclear weapon, your own government says that in their report. also while iranians of all ethnicities and religions are very proud to be iranian there very cynical of their goverment, this is to a iranian. also iran is not an offensive power militarily at all, this is so incredibly obvious. nazi germany was a purly offensive nationallistic power, wanting domination. i wont go into this more i think what i said again is quite clear
Let me know what you learn?
again good night

that allah's (allah just means god in arabi, in the bible translated in arabi you will find allah all through it)
Just because it names allah does not mean that it is the same god. The God of the Bible cannot be the same god as allah. He would not call the Jews the "apple of His Eye" then call for their extermination.
He would not have given The 10 Commandments that forbid murder, then wink at it when the "brave mujahadeen" do it.
To be the same deity, his purpose would have to be the same in islam as Christianity.

There aint anything in your postings that you will be able to substantiate. You lie about everything you write. I know there are less than one billion Muslims, not two billion. I challenge anyone to do simple arithmetic (Muslim invention? I doubt that!) and show me how can there be more than one billion Muslims? Your statement "99% of the 2 billion muslims would think these misconceptions as silly " are waste. They simply hate us - the infidels - you know that, and we know it! Your other sentences are equally deceptive and FOB.

Please explain this passage from the Kuran (Surah 9.5):
"And when the forbidden months have passed, slay the unbelievers everywhere they are found; besiege them, capture them, torture them, prepare every stratagem of warfare against them; levy the poor tax upon their surrender to the ways of al-lah."
If you don't--I will!
So, here goes:
That passage in the Kuran ORDERS Muslims to committ first degree murder targeting non-'believing" non-Muslims. That's it--pure and simple. Islamic practice mandatorily involves the attack and massacre of non-Muslims. That passage from the Kuran proves it.
Islam forbids non-Muslims from living in peace with Muslims. Don't blame Jihad Watch, blame your precious celebrity (aka "prophet") Muhammad.

Talib,
are you a better Muhammad worshiper than Bassam Tibi?
By Bassam Tibi, Muslim scholar of jihad:
‘At its core, Islam is a religious mission to all humanity. Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world. “We have sent you forth to all mankind” (Q. 34:28).
If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call (da’wa) can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. In Islam, peace requires that non-Muslims submit to the call of Islam, either by converting or by accepting the status of a religious minority (dhimmi) and paying the imposed poll tax, jizya.
World peace, the final stage of the da’wa, is reached only with the conversion or submission of all mankind to Islam…Muslims believe that expansion through war is not aggression but a fulfillment of the Qur’anic command to spread Islam as a way of peace. The resort to force to disseminate Islam is not war (harb), a word that is used only to describe the use of force by non-Muslims. Islamic wars are not hurab (the plural of harb) but rather futuhat, acts of “opening” the world to Islam and expressing Islamic jihad.
Relations between dar al-Islam, the home of peace, and dar al-harb, the world of unbelievers, nevertheless take place in a state of war, according to the Qur’an and to the authoritative commentaries of Islamic jurists. Unbelievers who stand in the way, creating obstacles for the da’wa, are blamed for this state of war, for the da’wa can be pursued peacefully if others submit to it.
In other words, those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them.’

I am just finishing a book (biography) of Constantine. So it is right in the middle of what darcy asked way up top of the thread.
I cannot answer the glass making thing but as I understand it any innovations that may have come from the middle east were before Islam as we know it started. Islamic art maybe the exception. Even though they like to revise history, Islam as a religion, culture or political entity did not exist before the 6th century. There were barbarians and idolitors before them some just a bad or worse but not them.
I am a little fuzzy on specifics that the Greeks contributed. I like to think of them as the ones who developed social and cultural aspects of humanity. The Romans adopted many of these things and added organization and infrastructure to the mix. Most every major leading nation added to the culture and was used by the next.
I don't agree with the article about leaving the religion of the people out because that in many ways was just as important as any technology passed down. Christianity as most know was made legal and recognized during Constantine. And it had a profound effect on what we know as the western world today (good and bad).
I look as Islam as a usurper and spiritually a direct attack on Christianity and the Jews. All of the areas of the world were Islam is practiced in the middle east was at one time the thriving philosophical centers of Christian and Jewish thought. Constantinople todays Istanbul is the best example.
Near as I can understand and have read on the forum and other places, Islam has not contributed anything to humanity. Either technologically or culturally. It's claims as a religion are anti-Christ at its best.

I think "Talib" has, like the Bennet girl in "Pride and Prejudice" with her piano playing, "entertained us long enough."

Actually, Hugh, I believe it was her singing. She could play the piano fine. I'll check in my copy.

Found. Here is from Chapter 18, Hugh:
"At length however Mrs. Bennet had no more to say; and Lady Lucas, who had been long yawning at the repetition of delights which she saw no likelihood of sharing, was left to the comforts of cold ham and chicken. Elizabeth now began to revive. But not long was the interval of tranquillity; for when supper was over, singing was talked of, and she had the mortification of seeing Mary, after very little entreaty, preparing to oblige the company. By many significant looks and silent entreaties, did she endeavour to prevent such a proof of complaisance, -- but in vain; Mary would not understand them; such an opportunity of exhibiting was delightful to her, and she began her song. Elizabeth's eyes were fixed on her with most painful sensations; and she watched her progress through the several stanzas with an impatience which was very ill rewarded at their close; for Mary, on receiving amongst the thanks of the table, the hint of a hope that she might be prevailed on to favour them again, after the pause of half a minute began another. Mary's powers were by no means fitted for such a display; her voice was weak, and her manner affected. -- Elizabeth was in agonies. She looked at Jane, to see how she bore it; but Jane was very composedly talking to Bingley. She looked at his two sisters, and saw them making signs of derision at each other, and at Darcy, who continued however impenetrably grave. She looked at her father to entreat his interference, lest Mary should be singing all night. He took the hint, and when Mary had finished her second song, said aloud,
``That will do extremely well, child. You have delighted us long enough. Let the other young ladies have time to exhibit.''
Mary Bennet - NOT an enchanting songstress!

In other words, those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them.’ - SheikYM
I think that nails it down pat. It also means that any resistance to their advances, from da'wa to jihad, is an insult to Islam, which automatically puts their 'defensive' mode into aggressive Jihad.
They are so twisted in their logic that an attack on us becomes their defense! Only Mohammedan logic can be so twisted way off reality. What a mentally sick collective ummah cult sect of Mo's Allah, that to reason with them itself becomes unreasonable.

>>They are so twisted in their logic
Oh, yes. The Islamic Barbarians who never invented anything call the West "backward." Right - that's completely twisted, in reverse.
Obviously, and in every way imaginable, THEY are the "backward" ones. It goes without saying.

Champ,
Sugar substitutes never tasted very good to me - they always leave a strange aftertaste in my mouth - which is why I avoid them at all costs. Reminds me of truth substitutes - I avoid them too.
Islam is one giant truth substitute. Exactly!
But you are a Christian, or a Jew and our God has out of love for man entered covenant with us. Andwhat makes covenant a covenant is that it stands on truth.
We do break, all too often, the Covenant, but He can not. In that sense we can do something He can not - despite His being omnipotent. He is omnipotent, but also faithful and rational.
But Allah is not limited by Truth and rationality. On the contrary, he will limit both as it suits him.
Let me quote from a comment on Pope’s speech at the University of Regensburg:
“…He (Allah) is ABSOLUTELY transcendent, he is not bound by even his own word and nothing would oblige him to reveal the truth to us. ”
Now, if one worships a god who fiddles with Truth then one is a slave of a lying God. It means one must lie when necessary to defend one’s master.
When we are caught lying we feel not only shame, but guilt. We sinned against Truth of God. Not so with a Mohammedan when he defends islam’s god. He may feel embarrassed for getting caught and looking silly. But he was loyal to his slave master and therefore he feels no guilt. That what Taqyiah is for.
So Talib like all Mohammedans before him who had polluted that space with their Taqyiah must repeat the same desperately crude and million times refuted lies because he can not otherwise. He is a good Moslem: irrational, deceitful, phony and, above all, shameless.
So once again: the only good Moslem is a bad Moslem.
Take care,

"Iranian Supremo: Islamic world can become global power, West is "backward"
Funny funny funny.
This, BTW, is all but identical to Izetbegovich's viewpoint. A unified supra Muslim state would be invincible. i.e. Caliphate in, national borders out.
It's great to watch the Islamists go nuts with the secular Nationalist rulers. Izetbegovich refused to pay his respects at Ataturks tomb. The only other head of state to do so was that Iranian guy.
To these "pure" Muslims, Ataturk was an apostate.
Izetbegovich also fumed against the secular regime in Tunisia. I forget the exact words he used but he mocked the Tunisian leader's Western outlook, the way he drank his fruit juices or something equally pitifully petty
So, what have we got here?
Infantile tamper tantrums with a healthy dose of "white is black, black is white" logic and rationalising.
Ah, it's just another foaming Jihadist.
