Top Saudi cleric: Kill writers who suggested non-Muslims aren't unbelievers!

More evidence that the penalty for apostasy in Islamic law is indeed death, contrary to the claims of blandly smiling Islamic spokesmen in the West. Those blandly smiling apologists could inspire much more confidence in non-Muslims if they acknowledged such teachings and rejected them, rather than simply denying their existence and thereby preying upon the ignorant.

"Top Saudi cleric calls for writers' deaths," from Reuters (thanks to all who sent this in):

RIYADH, March 15 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's most revered cleric said in a rare fatwa this week that two writers should be tried for apostasy for their "heretical articles" and put to death if they do not repent.

Sheikh Abdul-Rahman al-Barrak was responding to recent articles in al-Riyadh newspaper that questioned the Sunni Muslim view in Saudi Arabia that adherents of other faiths should be considered unbelievers.

"Anyone who claims this has refuted Islam and should be tried in order to take it back. If not, he should be killed as an apostate from the religion of Islam," said the fatwa, or religious opinion, dated March 14 and published on Barrak's Web site.

"It is disgraceful that articles containing this kind of apostasy should be published in some papers of Saudi Arabia, the land of the two holy shrines," he said, referring to Muslim holy places in Mecca and Medina.

"The rulers should hold these papers to account ... and all those who took part in the publication should know they were involved in the sin of heretical articles."

Barrak, who is thought to be around 75, is viewed by Islamists as the leading independent authority of Saudi Arabia's hardline version of Sunni Islam, often termed Wahhabism.

He said the articles suggested Muslims were free to follow other religions....

Shock horror!

Oh yes. This is one of our favorite pieces of smiley elitist baloney!

We all believe in the same God.

Sure.

And I've got a bridge to sell.

It's interesting that their god contradicts my God, and yet He is one in the same? I thought God couldn't do that.

I guess murder is the solution to every diagreement within Islam. What an evil religion.

"all those who took part in the publication should know they were involved in the sin of heretical articles."

Really? Why stop there. Also included should be those who sold the paper and those who read it.

Freedom of speach but with limitations, right?
Yea right.

Doesn't this refute the letter to the Pope, seeking "interfaith dialogue"? Any Saudi, who writes that the Pope is a believer will be put to death!

I have not before heard of this Modi, fella, but I can't help but think of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Modi's formula of one death at the hands of the wretched pedophile, demands the death of one thousand equally wretched Muslims, seems perfectly acceptable considering the idiocy of the Islamic threat. I also believe that complete ruthlessness is the only strategery that will allow the non-Muslim world to prevail. It has been well documented, at the insistence of the Islamo-degenerates, that their goal is to annihilate anything or anybody not also Islamo-degenerate. Additionally, they have clearly demonstrated with deeds subhuman and cowardly that their Godless ranting is not just empty rhetoric.

Another OT but important.

Wright's strong sentiments were echoed in the Sunday morning service attended by NewsMax.

Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he refers to the country as the "United States of White America." Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made.

There you have it...from a top dog...from an unimpeachable source. Now, the next time you see an "Islam is Peace" campaign, or hear Dougie Hooper and his minions bray about how Islam is respectful of all religions, or the next time you read Karen Armstrong, or watch the BBC, or listen to Muslim student groups repeating their Peace and Tolerance mantra, just remember to trust the Islamic authorities, not the apologists when examining this primitive, barbaric ideology. An expert on Hezbollah, when asked to comment about our relationship with Saudi Arabia quipped: (actually, he was quite serious) it would be worse if they were fundamentalist.

What is Wahhabism, if not fundamentalist?

What would American Muslims do if the same fatwa were issued here on an American writer?

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 15, 2008 7:22 PM

Xero G,

Odds are if you brought this up with Karen Armstrong and company, they would dismiss this fatwa as the product of a sheikh who also condemned camel beauty pageants and fortune tellers. They would dismiss it as "not indicative" of Islam and not to be taken seriously. Never mind the facts. Islam is a religion of peace. That's their story and they're sticking to it.

PMK,
I agree with your post. Unfortunately, most in the West, desperately want, no, NEED to believe that people are by nature, peaceful and tolerant. They can't conceive that the ravings of an illiterate 7th century thug turned warlord, could corrupt human nature into a primitive, paranoid, murderous narcissism. They don't want to read the Qur'an or websites like JW/DW because that would require too much critical thinking and would be so much more depressing than to just "stay positive" and BELIEVE the propaganda that's spewed daily by the Ummah. Sheikh Abdul-Rahman al-Barrak was: (pick one)
1) Misunderstood/mistranslated
2) Taken out of context
3) Only within a tiny minority of extremists
4) A victim of boredom

Terrorism is worse than a war. A terrorist has no rules. A terrorist decides when, how, where and whom to kill. India has lost more people in terror attacks than in its wars. Narendra Modi

In February 2002, when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, violence broke out across the state claiming around a thousand lives. An official estimate stated that 790 Muslims and 254 Hindus were killed, 223 people were reported missing and 2,500 were injured. The riots followed the Godhra Train Burning incident, where 58 Hindu Kar Sevaks were burnt alive on a train.

The United States revoked a visa for Modi the following year, on the grounds that he was responsible for severe violations of religious freedom.

This is a perfect example of what is fundamentally wrong with islam.

Topic: Religion
Subtopic: Islam

Islam's followers state that "there is no compulsion in religion."

Except:
You HAVE to accept Islam, or be killed.

Further, you HAVE to belong to any given Islamic believer's specific denomination and follow all applicable doctrine, or he can denounce you as an apostate, and call for you to be killed.

--------------------------------

Has anybody mentioned lately what a STUPID religion this is?

Actually I don't have any problem with any faith that labels others as "non-believers." After all, Christians believe that Jesus is "the way, the truth and the life," and those that don't believe that are "non-believers."

What makes Islam unique among the world's faiths, is that Muslims want to kill you if you're a non-believer, whereas other faiths only want to convert you to becomming a believer, and, failing that, accept that you have a right to reject their attempts at conversion.

Frankly, anyone that's a non-believer in Islam can be be proud that they're not a believer. But then, I suppose that you can be put to death for saying that also.

The only man who can destroy islamic terrorism in the world today is Narendra Modi

No thanks. I'll stick to the men and women who can really make us safer: Robert Spencer, Hugh Fitzgerald, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Nonie Darwish, Ibn Warraq, Bat Ye'Or, Walid Shoebat, Serge Trifkovic, etc.

We kufirs need to learn about Islam. We need to learn about core Islamic beliefs, and about almost 1.5 millenia of Islamic history. We need to learn why Islam is incompatible with non-Muslim societies, and why that is unlikely to change.

We don't need to go around wildly blowing **** up; we don't need to kill Muslims by the thousand; we don't need to become more like the jihadis, or try to out-jihad the jihadis.

If Modi's plan is to allow the Muslims to live amongst us, and then use murder and terror to subjugate them, then he's a dangerous idiot. If Modi's goal is to destroy Islam, rather than to protect infidels from Islamic attack, then he's a dangerous idiot.

I must say I'm suspicious of a brand new poster who writes for the first time to propose using nuclear weapons on Mecca and Medina.

Actually dropping millions of Motoons on Mecca and Medina would have the same effect. Islam would implode very quickly as opposed to explode.
