Proportional response
This latest missive -- again addressed to Europe -- presents an opportunity for a moment of clarity: It should raise the expectation that Muslims in Europe declare forthrightly whether they stand with or against bin Laden in his condoning a violent response to twelve drawings. "Usama bin Laden Criticizes Europe for Anti-Islamic Cartoons, Vows Reaction," from the Associated Press:
CAIRO, Egypt — Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden addressed the "wise men" of the European Union in a new audio message late Wednesday, slamming the publication of drawings insulting to the Prophet Muhammad and vowing a strong reaction.
The message, which appeared on a militant Web site that has carried Al Qaeda statements in the past and bore the logo of the extremist group's media wing al-Sahab, showed a still image of bin Laden aiming with an AK-47.
A voice believed to be bin Laden's described the attacks of the Europeans on women and children but said these "paled (in comparison) when you went overboard in your unbelief and freed yourselves of the etiquettes of dispute and fighting and went to the extent of publishing these insulting drawings, this is the greatest misfortune and the most dangerous."
The tape was posted less than a week after the Danish intelligence service said the reprinting of a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad had brought "negative attention" to Denmark and may have increased the risk to Danes at home and abroad.
More from CNN:
(CNN) -- A new statement attributed to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden condemns European countries for siding with the United States in Afghanistan and for allowing the publication of cartoons considered insulting to Islam's prophet, Mohammed.
"This is the greater and more serious tragedy, and the reckoning for it will be more severe," the speaker in the five-minute audio recording says.
The identity of the speaker could not be independently determined.
However, a radical Islamist Web site reported earlier Wednesday that a statement from bin Laden was coming shortly.
The notice appeared on Al-Ekhlaas, known for carrying statements and videos from al Qaeda and its allies.

"...when you went overboard in your unbelief and freed yourselves of the etiquettes of dispute and fighting."
Imam Osamo, excuse my impertinence, but what else would you expect from unbelievers, who would gladly tattoo the Turban/Bomb Motoon on your stinking forehead as a permanent reminder to you when you prayed to the Moon God Allah 5X/day for deliverance from EVIL?
Correct me if I'm wrong, Imam Osama, but flying jetliners into skyscrapers to make a religious/political point and killing thousands of innocent non-combatants in the process isn't allowed even by the Qur'an's grislier etiquettes of dispute and fighting, but then, you have a "special circumstance" fatwa that allows it, right?

"This is the greater and more serious tragedy, and the reckoning for it will be more severe,"
A greater tragedy than what?
As far as I can tell, Islam is the greatest tragedy.
And the reckoning coming for that, will also be severe...

Watch out, Osama! You too, may run (or hobble in your case) out into the street, get run into by a car and break your leg.

That is not the voice of OBL on that tape. It sounds very different from his earlier rants. I'd say it is a fake...

In other terrorist leader news, Kaddafi celebrates Mohammed's birthday (piss be upon him);
Kaddafi opens Idi Amin's dream mosqueNo word on the Idi Amin mosque cafeteria menu... how to serve Ugandan?
A huge mosque begun more than 30 years ago by the late Ugandan dictator Idi Amin has opened in the Ugandan capital. The mosque is named after Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi who helped finance its construction when funds ran low.
As Libya's leader opened the mosque, which holds some 15,000 worshippers and dominates Kampala's skyline, a large crowd chanted "long live Gaddafi".
Kaddafi says, Bible a ForgeryBonus: Slideshow! Posted by: Terp Mole
...Gadaffi yesterday celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad with a two-hour speech in which he attacked the Scandinavian countries for besmirching the Prophet, the Arabs for monopolising the Kaaba and signed off by describing the Bible as a forgery.

Why is Osama always so late to the party? This one has been going on for a long time, now. He's missed a lot of the fun.

"we need to hear Muslims in Europe declare forthrightly whether they stand with or against bin Laden in his condoning a violent respons to twelve drawings."
-- from Robert Spencer's comment on the article above
Yes -- and from all those clerics sweetly engaged in that Interfaith Healing, those little "dialogues," those cross-cultural exchanges, those everythings, who keep telling everyone how misunderstood Islam is, have to tell us if they respect, and will do nothing at all to interrupt or limit or make fearful, free men in Europe exercising their freedoms, established in the Constitutions, written and unwritten, of the entire advanced Western world, or whether they share Bin Laden's fury and wish to achieve his same goal -- the goal of shutting non-Muslims up, when it comes to Muhammad, or the Hadith, or the Qur'an, or the state and fate of the dhimmi under Islam.
And the response of two people should be watched, vigilantly.
The first is Tariq Ramadan, the snake who keeps prating about a new, improved, "European Islam" that he never quite defines, never quite tells us how that "European Islam" will be different from the one in his family's Cairo, or in Riyadh, Teheran, Khartoum, or Karachi.
The second is Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the "moderate(because Turkish, because he is a "scholar of the history of "Islamic" science), who heads the O.I.C., which organization is exercised about so-called "Islamophobia."
Listen for their responses, for their evasions, for their silences, on this latest telling call by Bin Laden, who himself is far less important than many, including ths Administration, thinks, for he merely expresses, and embodies, without evasion and silence, what a great many Muslims think, even if they might not always choose, possibly for reasons of self-preservation and possibly because they recognize there are easier, more cunning, more effective ways to attain the same ends, as those used by Bin Laden.

Bin Laden is sounding a lot like US newspaper editors, academic elites, or arrogant Leftist Europeans these days... Europeans are so much wiser than their US counterparts, and there's nothing, positively NOTHING worse than first worlders mocking a third world religion.

e said Prophet Musa (Moses) and Issa (Jesus) talked about the coming of Muhammad in the Bible which has been in existence for centuries.funny i have read the bible and and i i have not seen any child molester bandits named as a Prophet
but then muslims are some of the best lairs excuse me revisionist of history around today
"Issa is mentioned in the Koran 25 times, Musa is mentioned 128 times, Mariam (Mary mother of Jesus) is mentioned 30 times. It is all glorifying and highly respectful. We cannot be Muslims unless we believe in Issa.
We have to look for the Bible and Tora that were sent to Moses and Jesus, but where can you find them? Unfortunately, the holy book that was sent by Allah was written by mankind and forged," Col. Gadaffi
imo he needs to change his name to col crakpot
speaking through a translator said.
President Museveni said he would put the Archbishop of Uganda, Luke Orombi and Bishop Cyprian Lwanga of Kampala Archdiocese to task to explain the omission of Prophet Muhammad from the Bible.
its simple the pedophile bandit and profit was never mentioned in the bible because Muhammad cobled together the koran from what little he knew of the bible and tora
He thanked Col. Gadaffi for the help he has extended to Islam in Ugan

What ever happened to Al-Mahdi? Is he still in the well? Beasty Boy Ahmadinijad never talks about Mahdi anymore, did he forget? I wonder if anyone told Mahdi about these cartoons? Certainly not Osama, he and Mahdi are not on speaking terms. But Beasty apparently talks to Mahdi often, so I'm sure he told him about cartoons. Here's the problem, Mahdi has been in the well so long, he has no idea what a cartoon is. He would not understand how anyone could draw a picture of Mohammad, since no one knows what he looks like, and call such a drawing a 'cartoon'.
He also has no knowledge of bombs, so the imaginary bomb, on an imaginary Prophets image, would probably not impress him a whole lot. He would probably just say, 'This', is what you are upset about? It's not even Mohammad. Allah's not upset, why are you?
'I'm going back to bed in the well, if anything important happens, wake me up, but it better be important...'

Isn't OBL's message a little slow in coming? You would think that he would want to be the frontrunner terrorist capitalizing on this Motoon "insult". Allah must be very displeased with his aging #One Goon with the jet black beard.

Hey, Oba.. errr.. Osama.. shouldn't your beard be dyed RED since your "prophet" [the one with the bomb in his turban] was a "whitey" with naturally read hair and beard?
Maybe you should get contacts since the KKKoran describes the Evil One as pale-skinned and of bright eyes.
You want to be more like your idol don't you?
Maybe we should have a show called "Alla's Idol".
