That is, a break to allow them to gather strength and fight again later, more effectively. That is what a truce is for, according to Islamic law, and these groups take Islamic law very seriously.
"'Hamas and Islamic Jihad discussing calm period in Egypt,'" from the Jerusalem Post (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
Senior representatives of Hamas and Islamic Jihad are set to meet Egyptian officials on Saturday in order to discuss a truce, or calm period, with Israel, the Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.Meanwhile, talks between the rival Fatah and Hamas are continuing to take place in Yemen, after a crisis in talks occurred on Thursday in which Fatah representatives threatened to return to Ramallah.
"Hamas is not declining the Yemenite initiative which aims to resolve the rivalry between Hamas and Fatah," Ahmed Youssef, adviser to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, told the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi.
Youssef also said that Hamas is maintaining contacts with European representatives. "Most of the Europeans we maintain contact with are British, Swedish, Swiss and French. In most cases they were unofficial European representatives who are helping change the European attitude towards Hamas."
On Thursday, An attempt by the Yemeni government to mend fences between Fatah and Hamas failed after the Fatah delegation walked out of the talks.
They can't get together? What a surprise!

This is treason by these "unofficial" representatives. It is not their place to direct the foreign policies of their people. Please give their names so charges can be drawn up.

To discuss something more like a hudna.

these are pro-islamosupremacist suicidal/fratricidal dhimmi elites - if not outright islamofascists themselves (who have been allowed to obtain some position or another of "authority" by duped multi-culturalists)
"senor doeboy" is correct - name them, find them, prosecute them - at least force them out of any and all position of public opinion and influence

Offtopic: just saying hi and a Happy Easter from Australia, where Easter is beginning, to all jihadwatch/ dhimmiwatch regulars who normally celebrate that feast, and of course, to The Team, most notably Mr Spencer and Mr Fitzgerald.
My parish church started the Vigil Service after sundown on our Saturday 22nd March, followed by a l.a.t.e supper in the hall, and now I am back reading and posting after staying away during Lent.
May all Christians visiting, posting or lurking here, enjoy a truly blessed and happy Easter.
Furthermore I am sure all Jews present will have done their best to enjoy Purim, even despite the dark shadow of grief cast by the jihad murders in Jerusalem. Greetings to you also. May all the modern Hamans be soundly defeated.
Ontopic: once one knows the paradigm they're operating from, aren't all these pronouncements by the likes of Fatah and Hamas, so dismally predictable? And it's clear that although they both hate Israel, if they didn't have any Jews or, for that matter, Infidels to hate and exploit, they would occupy themselves endlessly hating, cheating and fighting each other. What a miserable, destructive, soul-destroying dead-end cultural paradigm: it seems to damage people's ability to even imagine win-win outcomes. Sadism- masochism/ dominance-submission/ tyranny-slavery.
Personally, I suspect that very soon now the IDF will work out that the only practical operating procedure with the likes of Hamas is to hit them until they call for a truce/ hudna - and instead of agreeing to that call, to go on hitting, implacably.

Have a blessed Resurrection Day.
Thank you, dumbledoresarmy for your post.
Greetings to our Jewish posters, I once went to Purim services with my best friend (in high school), it was great. We had noise makers and used them when Haman's name was mentioned. I think we should use the noise makers now when islam's name is mentioned.

I wonder if Hamas would consider changing its own attitude.
Funny, a change of attitude on the Muslim side never seems to be included in the deal.

....how many fingers and toes did Hamas & Fatah walk away with? Surely they each got their pound of flesh before the discussion had ended. More peace could be expected between two rattle snakes than what was hoped for between these two groups.

Thanks, dumbledoresarmy for your support of Israel… this is off topic: but did anyone watch Together4Israel; the online rally in support of Israel?
Of course, the presidential contenders had to have a snippet stating support for Israel; yes even the two-faced, Obama! Indeed, they were all trying to score brownie points from Jewish voters; however, Obama holds no empathy for the State of Israel… or any Jews for that matter.
Purim’s importance is not solely festive but to reach out to, those, the less fortunate… as does the Christian faith attest.
This sense of humanity that Jews and Christians share, of course, counters that which the scumbags of Hamas, Fatah and other Jihadists practice. They take sustenance from the mouths of their people, so that they may continue to kill and maim especially innocent Jews and all non-believers.
I agree, the, so-called unofficial Euro representatives must be held accountable and indicted for their perfidy.
It will never come to pass, however, as the Euros are only covering their, pathetic and pitiful butts for the time when Islam has conquered Europe, which, I believe, has already come to pass.

A Meeting of Skunks who dislike each others scent, in a Nest where so many like them have left their mark. Even if Iran could grow Tomatoes, there still would not be enough to rid us of the smell.
May we hope they try seeing who's scent doesn't smell.
