"Narseal Batiste had a mission. His mission was to destroy the United States"

But he was really just trying to con the Al-Qaeda guy out of $50,000, doncha know.

Sears Tower Jihad Plot Update: "Prosecutor: War goal of terror plot," by Curt Anderson for Associated Press (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

MIAMI - War with the U.S. government was at the heart of a terrorist plot to destroy Chicago's Sears Tower and bomb FBI offices, a prosecutor said Wednesday during closing arguments in the retrial for six Miami men accused of conspiring with al-Qaida.

Alleged ringleader Narseal Batiste and the others in the "Liberty City Seven" conspired with an FBI informant who pretended he was from al-Qaida with the hope of starting an anti-government war, Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Gregorie said.

"Narseal Batiste had a mission. His mission was to destroy the United States," Gregorie said. [...]

Batiste testified that he was never serious and only went along with the terrorism talk in hopes of conning the informant out of $50,000. His lawyers also claim he was entrapped by two FBI informants who orchestrated the entire plot.

But Gregorie said Batiste and the others would have pursued a terrorism attack no matter what, noting that they were captured on FBI videotapes taking an oath to al-Qaida in March 2006....

I just hope that the jury is educated enough about islam that they understand the concept of taqqiyah or we'll have more liberal hand-wringing, statements about islamophobia and racism.

Abu Lahab,
Blindness is dominant among liberal and conservative sources when it come to islamo-nazism. Therefore don't hold your hopes too high regarding this trial, specially since the american Law is dominated by liberals. Don't be surprised if the muslim terrorrist gets away AND gets financially compensated!

Crusader,

I hate to say so but you're correct. It'll be another fiasco and yet more 'evidence' that we're just all slaves to the anti-muslim media.

It's driving me crazy.

He was just trying to steal from the kuffar. The killing comes later.

AWESOME article! Finally we're starting to some movement here. Now if only about 50 other news papers would print the article we'd be golden.

Thanks for that Darcy

Making excuses for clowns like this one is not helping make America & the world for that matter any safer.

Im not a conspiracy theorist in any way but...if it waddles, has webbed feet, likes water and quacks...I usually figure its a DUCK!

Im afraid that at least for the last 6 months, the physical and violent jihad has been getting under way & gaining strength in the US.

Just read about the bizzare events that have been going on nationwide and quietly shoved away by the media (govt?). Stepped up activity by those of the FBI persuasion is also quite amusing. Something's up???

-I mean...stolen car found in New Mexico today with Iraqi currency and a bomb. (yet FBI is saying they've ruled out terrorism...they must have changed the meaning of "terrorism" while I wasn't looking)
-Huge underground explosion near LAX yesterday killed 1 firefighter.
-Bomb squad called Tuesday for suspicious package in Pullman Washington (yet no follow up on story)
-Monday, Union Pacific Railroad had to call out the bomb squad when unidentified males took off from railyard after being spotted and leaving behind what appeared to be a battery with wires attached

on and on and on...

hear, read some for yourselves....

http://www.nationalterroralert.com/

I guess not enough people care enough to read and research what's going on in our own country. Unless it happens in their own town, no one notices anything fishy. Problem is...the US is a big country and our jihadist enemas know this. The smart thing for them to do (which they obviously are doing) is keep incidents spread so as to not alarm too many folks.

Wakey wakey. sooner that later please.

PS...yes I meant to spell it "enemas"

Happy Thursday.

Darcy, DeeMack -

I hope you've both fired off 'Letters to the Editor' of the WSJ commending him on the publication of the article about Islam and Freedom of Speech, and particularly commending the author of said article, by name.
