Armchair Critic: Blogger who posted "The List of Things That Offend Muslims" deserves to be shot

The growing Muslim indignation over Geert Wilders's movie Fitna manifests anew a phenomenon we have noted here many, many times: when non-Muslims point out that Islamic jihadists commit acts of violence and justify them by reference to the Qur'an, many non-Muslim and Muslim apologists for jihad, include many who are widely known as "moderates" respond by claiming that the one who is pointing out all this is committing an act of "hatred," "bigotry," "Islamophobia," and the like. They don't have a word to say about the actual acts of violence, hatred and supremacism committed by the jihadists -- no, the real villain is the one who reports on these actions.

This has only happened to me, let's see, about 50,000 times, but it never ceases to puzzle me. And now The Armchair Critic is doing the same thing to Kevin Weakley of The Amboy Times, for his celebrated "List of Things That Offend Muslims." The Critic, the illustrious Edroos Alsagoff, says:

You know how much I hate to wish that something really bad happen to anyone (though at times I have expressed my desire to have someone I truly hate suffer in death thanks to a speeding bullet train). But I think I have no excuse to pray that the author of this idiotic post have anything good for him or her.

This guy is a real muppet. I couldn't care to dig up his background or where he came from for that matter. Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really. This is simply a case of asking for it. Don't even mention terrorists, this chap could be in real trouble even if he bumped into his Muslim neighbour, if he has any.

"Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really." Never mind that everything on Weakley's list is linked, and based on actual events. It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that it might be perfectly legitimate to point out the ridiculous rage-mongering that all too many Muslims engage in all too frequently, and to call them on it.

It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that the ones who are actually stirring the s*** are the ones who fly into irrational rage at the sight of ice cream cones and sneakers, and that to say that someone who points out the silliness and irrationality of that rage deserves to be shot indicates that he has already surrendered to violent intimidation -- even as he engages in it himself.

Oh, and Kevin, if this Edroos Alsagoff character is right, it may be time for you to add "The List of Things That Offend Muslims" to..."The List of Things That Offend Muslims."

So I wonder, what is it that Muslims find disagreeable about the film? Their own words from the Quran? From their Sermons? From the pronouncements of their Imams? From their actions on the world stage? That we say, as infidels we do not want to be subjugated? Is that what offends them if not their own words? That we wish to live as free men, to choose our own religion or not?

"That we wish to live as free men, to choose our own religion or not?"

Huh, that's offensive!

Another dimwitted-dhimmi-dodo attempting to undermine the Truth by targetting the Truth-Tellers. I don't get it. Not at all. How did things get so backwards?

Let's not forget French (Islamic) school children who refuse to learn addition because the plus sign looks like a Christian cross.

Or Al-Azhar of Cairo dropping philosophy courses because they demand critical thinking.

Or the joy of a hot summer day at the beach where women are scantily clad offending the prying eyes of Muslim (immaturely oversexed) males.

Oh no, let's not offend the perpetually offended ones. Pardon me for living. But their idiocy has become so intolerable, that now I am offended!

I just discovered THIS MOVIE online last night, and have been posting to various blog articles on Fitna. Spencer is in it, and I would think now would be a good time to introduce it, alongside Fitna, while the interrest is there. It's all the detail and perspective that Fitna didn't have the time for, but are essential to understanding the danger of Militant Islam. I hope it also gets the attention it very much deserves.

Regards

Armchair Critic is clearly overweight from eatting too many PC cookies and munchin' on MC chips throughout the day. Time to switch to a healthier diet.

"So I wonder, what is it that Muslims find disagreeable about the film?"

Actually, their reaction has been more muted than I expected.

An hypothesis has been percolating in my brain, and I bet it's percolating in the brains of others: Muslims aren't outraged because the film tells the truth.

Aside from the motoon in the beginning, Wilders did a good job of not directly insulting Muslims.

What should be chilling to the kuffar is that Muslims AREN'T outraged.

Unfortunately they might not remark on the fact because Muslims aren't making noise about it, and the point will be lost.

The weekend is young, I guess, so there might still be a motoons-like reaction, but I am beginning to doubt it.

Battle-of-Tours
Are you serious about the children refusing to learn addition?

champ:

Another dimwitted-dhimmi-dodo attempting to undermine the Truth by targetting the Truth-Tellers.

You're mistaken, champ. Read his blog, and you'll see that this guy is actually another outraged Muslim condemning the stereotyping of Muslims as intolerant and violent by, err, stating that somebody deserves to be shot.

He then further confounds the stereotype by blaming Kevin Weakley, and people like him, of causing Islamic terrorism:

"It's people like you who create this animosity between the people that should have been shot down and taken away. It's people like you who selfishly caused extreme Muslims, if any, to react as such in terrorising your nation and your people."

By the way, the name of his website should not be confused with the original Armchair Critic, which is an innocuous entertainment review site.

It was mentioned in a recent French Education Ministry report, also mentioned here by Hugh sometime ago. Yes, they rebelled against learning arithemtic because of the 'crosses' involved. And they claim Arabs invented algebra and our numbering system? Ha! They stole it as booty, no doubt most likely from the Hindu Indians.

Reminding the Turks that they murdered their Christian populations offended both Turkey and the United States of America.

Posted by: Charlie [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 28, 2008 2:55 PM

I noticed Edroos has 'figured out' the cause of terrorism:

It's people like you who selfishly caused extreme Muslims, if any, to react as such in terrorising your nation and your people.

That is, anyone who speaks out against fascist tyranny or the ideology that justifies it is somehow responsible for the tyranny they oppose. He's a study in the anti-logic of the 'postmodern' left, another utopian leftist zealot, blinded by a haughty self-righteousness and a lust to gain power for his clan.

The stunning ignorance of human nature and history that his blog displays doesn't bode well for civil society over the next few years and decades. We can expect more of our latest generation to fall prey to the revised history of mankind, as told by leftist ideologues in our schools, universities, and now our churches. The ideas, the complaints, and their abusive solutions have been offered and tried before, which exactly how the current structure of society and power became established.

The current crop of 'progressives', like their progressive mentors Hitler and Mussolini are likely to meet the same eventual fate. The question is: how many of us will they take with them before common sense reigns again.

They seem unable or unwilling to appreciate that they are helping bring an end to a period of civilization and the relative calm that protected them and provided them the leisure to complain.

He typifies the 'logic' of the left, and the world of hurt they seem anxious for everyone to join them in.

Muslims offended by the new Apple store!

Coincidentally, I just received my copy of Chris Hedges' I Don't Believe In Atheists. In the prologue he makes this statement:

The utopian dream of a perfect society and a perfect human being, the idea that we are moving toward collective salvation, is one the most dangerous legacies of the Christian faith and the Enlightenment. All too often throughout history, those who believed in the possibility of this perfection (variously defined) have called for the silencing or eradication of human beings who are impediments to human progress. They turn their particular notion of good into an inflexible standard of universal good. They prove blind to their own corruption and capacity for evil. They soon commit evil not for evil's sake but to make a better world.

Although I believe the impulse to utopianism is more a natural part of the human psyche than Hedges expresses in this statement; I do agree that when unchecked by reality, history shows utopian political philosophy leads to the exact outcome he describes.

Alsagoff has chosen to be part of the problem.

For the moderators, when such a dangerous beast or another like him one day makes the mistake of practicing what he preaches,an individual somewhere, sometime will employ such a SUGGESTION of hand gun defense, note:suggestion, along with other suggestions such as Krav Maga,a taser, tire iron, rock or any other method of SELF DEFENSE needed to offset any attack. To delete a post based on the presumption that some fifth columnist clown somewhere, who already peddles the erroneous notion that sites such as this are "hate sites",is going to use this as some fuel for misinformation is just asinine. I've read much worse through the ages here. Afraid you lost me.

Robert,
Thanks for your support, and for standing up for freedom.

We'll be discussing Kevin's list on next week's edition of The Gathering Storm Radio Show, with our interviewee Cassandra. The show begins at 3:00 PM, Eastern Daylight Time.

solsticewitch13-Thanks for the link! I laughed too, and I laughed again when I passed the "Apple Mecca" on my way home from work. I walk past it at least twice a day, and I can't say that it ever reminded me of the Kaabah. I looked at it very closely again tonight and still couldn't find the resemblance, mostly because the Apple store is made from clear glass. I must be too simplistic.

Posted by: margheri [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 28, 2008 8:50 PM

By the way, why is saying that a fellow blogger, who has never incited violence against others, "deserves to be shot," not hate speech? Is that not inciting violence?

Am I missing something? First the Apple Kaabah, now this...I must be having an "off" day... ;)

Posted by: margheri [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 28, 2008 8:52 PM

Solsticewitch, my thanks, too for the link to "The People's Cube". I'm still laughing, and keep going back for more.

BTW, anybody notice what they've done with that infamous MuslimSingles.com Google banner ad we've discussed in here? Guess they don't really like it, either....
