From outraged Methodists, that is.
"Film 'Worse than Fitna' Abandoned over Fatwa Fear," from NISNews (thanks to Praxis):
THE HAGUE, 02/04/08 - Ehsan Jami is not to release his animation film The Life of Mohammed. After consultations with his advisors, Jami is abandoning the plan to show his film, which was to be released on 20 April."Minister Hirsch Ballin (Justice) has stated that he fears the film will drive a wedge through our society. That was never my intention", said Jami. He added however that he does not believe the Dutch government is capable of protecting him against death threats.
One of Jami's advisors is philosopher and columnist Afshin Ellian. Like Jami, Ellian was born in Iran. Last week, Ellian stated that the young Jami (22) perhaps failed to recognise the consequences of the release of his animation film for his safety.
The abandoned film contains a drawing depicting the prophet Mohammed with an erection. He is seen leading a 9 year old girl to a mosque bearing a swastika, in order to have sex with her. According to Jami, the cartoon represents the story of Mohammed who marries Aisha, as described in the Koran.
In his own columns, Ellian criticises Islam and Dutch appeasement politics on an almost daily basis. In spite of this, he advised Jami to abandon the film because Jami will likely be faced in his view with a Fatwa similar to the one issued against Salman Rushdie following the publication of his book The Satanic Verses.
Ellian believes Ayatollahs will judge The Life of Mohammed much more harshly than MP Geert Wilders 'film Fitna, which came out last week. This is partly due to Jami being a former Muslim and an Iranian, thereby increasing the risk of a Fatwa. Also, he is not an MP as Wilders is.
Jami however says he intends to start work on a new film. In this film too, the prophet Mohammed is receiving the leading part. "I am going to make another film. I cannot say too much about it"....

Can't? or won't?

Change that to "Dutch government is unwilling of protecting him against the Muhammadan madness", - better?

More and more are beginning to come out and speak the truth about the satanic religion Islam.
FM: I notice you aren't using your real name. And your profile page is empty. In short, you are totally anonymous. It is therefore very easy for you to call someone else a wimp. Remember, though, that Ehsan Jami actually came out into the open and actually began a video critical of Islam, in the wake of the FITNA protests!
Let's be thankful for any effort to combat the Muslim Mafia.

You have to admit this is somewhat 'over the top' where even non MOhabs might get offended. Really, an erection on the 'perfect man'? Over a little girl? Over the top.
Watch for a whole battery of such films now following in the wake of Fitna, some not as classy. And watch the MOhabs quietly seethe until they can't take it anymore, and then break out in full rage... Got popcorn?

A report posted on Islam Watch, a site run by Muslims who oppose intolerant teachings and hatred for unbelievers, exposes a prominent Islamic cleric and lawyer who support extreme punishment for non-Muslims — including killing and rape.
A question-and-answer session with Imam Abdul Makin in an East London mosque asks why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters, according to Islam Watch.
"Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet," the Imam says, according to the report. "If you don't believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain."
The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam's position, saying that all Muslims are innocent.
"You are innocent if you are a Muslim," Choudary tells the BBC. "Then you are innocent in the eyes of God. If you are not a Muslim, then you are guilty of not believing in God."
Choudary said he would not condemn a Muslim for any action.
"As a Muslim, I must support my Muslim brothers and sisters," Choudary said. "I must have hatred to everything that is not Muslim."

Oh, I forgot.. lack of UNITY among not only the Dutch, but among all Westerners.
We need UNITY across ideological and national lines.

I'm sorry, I'm not willing to use my real name. I have a wife and children to think about.
Person of the Book is good enough for me. This identifies me with the Real God, Jesus Christ, who really cares for me; not the murderous demon known as "allah".
So if anyone is willing to reveal his true identity, even a little, my hat is definitely off to him!
By the way, have you noticed that when muslims are going to commit some atrocity, they ALWAYS cover their faces. They're too cowardly to show their face when they're killing little girls or old, handicapped people.

Well, even if someone was to create a film that was strictly to the Hadith and Koran, this would still be offensive. They are the Religion of Peace and showing the slaughter of the kafir might harm that image, which is automatically an insult and all insults are avenged with slaughter of kafirs.
I do think it would be nice to celebrate Islamic holidays with movies about Mohammad, just as Christians celebrate Christian holidays with movies about Christ.
Good luck to these film makers! I hope they get good body armor to protect them from the adherents of the Religion of Peace and Tolerance.

I've revealed my real name as Christoper Nicholson, and anyone who has even mediocre skills in Internet detective work (I find out the real identities of people all the time) can find out which Christopher Nicholson I am.
I call myself non-croyant because of a memory of an event that happened to me during the first few days of my study aboard in Switzerland: I mean an Italian guy named Fabrizio at the soccer pitch where all the Erasmus students were getting to know each other. For some reason he asked me if I believed in god, and when I said "no" he said "moi, je suis croyant."
It indicates my believe that muslims can only be defeated when we impress upon them that we don't allow someone to use his religious beliefs as a basis for telling others now to live in the West.

OK, I guess not.
Anyway, I don't think the airing of a film like this is a good idea based solely on the description of what the film would entail, eg., Mohammed with an erection and a mosque with a swastika.
I think Geert Wilders did a fabulous job with Fitna.
One question that repeatedly comes to mind about the objectors to Fitna is: If this film is about hate speech:
All we see are Imams preaching the words of Mohammed and Islam's hadith and sira, some verbatim quotes from the q'ran.
Where exactly does the hate speech lie?
Within islam? Its imams? In the qu'ran?

I disagree.
Muslims must be reminded over and over again that blasphemy is not a crime in the West - at least not in the US.
Some of us would even say, as the old joke goes, that blasphemy is a victimless crime.

The History Channel has programs like The Greatest Battles of the Bible or some such Title. They have a way of presenting that kind of historical material. At least there seems to be no protests about it afterward.
Just think of what a fine job they have the potential for presenting, say, the History of War in the Koran.

Wow. I feel like I just walked into an Infidels Anonymous meeting.
Hi. I'm Haid Dasalami, and I'm an Islamophobe.
Seriously, this sub-thread about disclosing one's identity isn't exactly off-topic, because the story is about how the filmmakers can't count on protection from the authorities. None of us can. As non-croyant says, Internet anonymity is a myth, but my feeling is that pseudonyms, handles, and monikers are useful when speaking your mind in cyberspace. In fact, I have a strict policy against disclosing much of anything about the real me.
And in case you haven't heard, there's no shortage of nut balls around who want to make it illegal to post anonymously on the Internet. Kentucky state representative Tim Couch even introduced legislation requiring us to divulge our real addresses, physical and virtual, when posting a comment on sites like this. You can read about it here: http://www.wtvq.com/content/midatlantic/tvq/video.apx.-content-articles-TVQ-2008-03-05-0011.html.
My guess is that if you think this way, you haven't had enough beheading and impaling videos sent to you. Recently, LiveLeak found out this isn't a game.
We can admire brave souls like Robert and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, but make no mistake: they are ALWAYS at risk, and unless you're ready and willing to assume that same risk, I suggest taking precautions. A lot of them.
Beware of those who, like Tim Couch, want to know your identity, and don't ever relax your guard, not even among friends, as here.
Abdul wants you virtually dead.
Not to mention really dead.
Regards,
HAID
at April 1, 2008 9:16 PM
I just want to make clear, in response to Haid, that I have absolutely no expectation for anyone to reveal their true identities on the Internet.
I don't think that being worried about your safety is the only reason to choose not to reveal private information.
One of the perks of online discussion forums like these are that you can construct it to where you words stand alone - you can choose not to disclose your sex, race, nationality, mother tongue (if you're fluent enough in another language), religion, politics, etc, etc.
The reason I said what I did about its being easy to find out who I am, in particular, is because I have been sloppy about hiding it lately. The reason I said that I have figured out private information about others before quite easily is because they have been sloppy too.
But if you're careful you can hide your identity pretty well. If you know how to spoof MAC addresses and know where the free wireless hotspots are you can hide your id even from computer experts; I have had reason to do this once or twice myself, and it's quite easy.
But, again, back to the intent of my post - I don't look down on anyone for choosing to remain anonymous, especially on a site like this.

You're right, non-croyant--again. The use of a pseudonym is an age-old literary device that carries with it many benefits and advantages aside from security. A well-crafted persona is a many splendored thing indeed.
But in the counter-jihad those benefits pale in contrast to the security features of covering one's tracks. I was preaching to that sloppy aspect you noted. It's easy to get that way--I know firsthand.
Unfortunately, it's a lot harder to learn a lesson, but the real danger is that the sloppiness, or the risk-taking, can never be undone. That's what's ridiculous about LiveLeak stepping up to the plate and then stepping out of the box. They already took the risk and the Mohammedans already took offense. They don't get off the hook by changing their minds.
Once you leave your identity laying around, you don't get to retrieve it.
All you can hope is that the bottle tossed out to sea never washes up anywhere.
Take care,

Do I have a reason to? I wouldn't go to all that work for no reason.
By sloppy I mean things like this:
An infamous guy known as ElCid on the Beliefnet discussion boards was given his own board - Western Christian Culture - in honor of his own philosophy - Christian Nationism I think he called it.
He managed to piss off almost everyone: gay and straight, Christian and non-Christian, etc. Long story short he didn't break any discussion board rules so they cordoned him off in his own sandbox.
One day we got into a flamefest over who knows what and he posted something from his own Web site, nathancross.org or somesuch (it's defunct now and has nothing to do with the Nathan Cross Web site you might find).
I did a simple WHOIS, found his real name (Daniel McRoberts), home address (somewhere in El Paso), and phone number, and posted that information (it was a matter of public record after all) to the site along with a satellite photo of his house.
That's the kind of sloppiness I am talking about.

excuse me for my ignorance but, where in koran or hadith does it tell precisely where little Aisha had been molested errrr deflowered of her viginity?
girls in iran are married off by 9 yrs of age which is the legal age of marriage in iran etc....
I think muslims all ought to remember that they claim he is the perfect example of a man therefore films and movies on his life they should be seeing as good dawa and therefore assisting in the dissemination of the truth of islam,
why arent they happy about Muhammads life being shown for all muslims to appplaud and show really that their opinion of muhammad as the greatest example of a man?
If their claim is the truth then they cannot possibly be enraged or angry about his actions and his life he led being shown?
Dont they want every muslim on this planet to worship muhammad their prophet and beleive all he ever uttered as a prophet of islam? This is the man whose teachings they follow as if it is god alone who told it to him
if they are angry and humiliated, or wish to make death threats against people, precisely what is it that makes the life of muhammad, the koranic surahs and the hadiths so able to humiliate them
if it is true that Muhammad was the greatest example of a man ever lived?
muslims need to explain this
The Muslims are good television presenters of clerics on their own tv stations....they make so many anti christia, anti jewish cartoons daily in jordan, egypt, saudi tv and newspapers so then why then do they blanche and resort to violence when others return the honour of showing things from their religious sacred book?
This is all too confusing
If indeed muhammad was truthful, and his life was the greatest of any man whom ever lived then they should be rejoicing in the ability of film makers to show the real hadiths, the real koranic teachings, and every single act which muhammad ever did during his life
if they are so angry, would it be because there is in reality, some embaressment? or some shame of the muslims umma as to what their own prophet muhammad did, and in his name, muslims continue to do in reality??
muhammad according to islam was a man whom never sinned, a man whom led a blameless life
so why the fear we will see on movies what his life consisted of? or what the koran hadiths etc consist of-it seems rather orwellian to want to kill people whom spread the word about muhammads life and koranic teachings doesnt it?? when in reality that is precisely what the clerics in every mosque on this earth do every day...
or is it only muslim clerics in secrecy, spreading the same teachings by word of mouth that they prefer to do in secrecy, without just the kuffirs knowing about it?
why then are muslim clerics featured every day on saud tv, jordan and pallestinian tv and such in egypt as well???
the television filming of clerics preaching the koran is same as a movie
what hippocrits they are to constantly raise hate of Christians and Jews in cartoons, movies, films, and books like the protocols of the elders of zion which we all know was a russian secret police fraud that the muslims tell everyone is truth?
The Truth shall set them free

Just looked at a video clip about burning the Koran. From a site in Iran. (blog)
