More on this story. "Jet plot suspects recorded martyr videos," by David Stringer for the Associated Press:
LONDON - In chilling videos shown to a jury Friday, men accused of plotting to bring down jetliners over the Atlantic called for revenge for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and praised Osama bin Laden.
Six of the eight defendants videotaped messages denouncing the West for what they said was its suppression of Muslims, prosecutor Peter Wright said as he outlined his case to jurors at a London court.
The defendants, all Britons with ties to Pakistan, are accused of plotting to blow up at least seven jetliners bound for the United States and Canada in 2006.
Some of the group were heard on secret police surveillance discussing plans to take their wives and young children on the suicide missions, Wright said.
Wright showed a jury clips of the so-called martyr videos, recorded for distribution after the attacks. Each man wore a black-and-white checkered head scarf and sat alone in front of a black flag inscribed with a message in Arabic.
"I say to the nonbelievers, as you bomb, you will be bombed. As you kill, you will be killed," said Umar Islam, 29, as he angrily wagged a finger at the camera, denouncing the U.S. and Britain for their role in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories.
Another defendant, Abdulla Ahmed Ali, 27, predicted waves of new attacks on the United States and Britain.
"We will take our revenge and anger, ripping amongst your people and scattering the people ... decorating the streets," he said.
Islam lambasted the British public, saying they deserved to suffer because they cared more about sports and television soap operas than the plight of Muslims.
"Most of them are too busy watching 'Home And Away' and 'EastEnders,' complaining about the World Cup, drinking your alcohol, to care about anything," he said.
All the defendants "expressed similar chilling sentiment in their respective videos," Wright said. The footage, in which the suspects spoke in English, was not publicly released.
Prosecutors calculated about 1,500 people on board the passenger jets — and potentially many more on the ground if the planes exploded over cities — could have been killed if the planned coordinated attacks had been carried out. [...]
Wright said one defendant, Assad Sarwar, had not planned to join the others in carrying out the suicide bombings. He was plotting to cripple nuclear power stations, a European gas pipeline, Britain's electricity grid, an airport control tower and the main exchange for Britain's Internet Service providers, the prosecutor said.
A suitcase buried by Sarwar, 27, in a wooded area at Kingswood, in High Wycombe, west of London, contained explosives and bomb-making equipment, Wright said.

where are the Mass Protests against this!! UN? the UMMAH? UNESCO? the EU? Lets all protest this or are we afraid we maybe offend the Muslim sensibilities? Maybe labeled a Islamophobe, a racist. What if these punks were successful, what then? We still might offend Muslim sensibilities!

I wonder whether the reporter, David Stringer, knows the significance of the "black flag inscribed with a message in Arabic" which was used in the videos?
Does not the black flag signify Jihad? (I don't have a precise scholarly reference for that information - I think Mr Spencer mentioned it awhile ago?).
Also, in a report of this kind, surely it should be possible to find out and explain what the mysterious 'Arabic message' actually said? I wonder whether anyone translated it for the jury members?
A further thought: it isn't relevant to this particular report, but whenever we hear the Arabic names or acronyms of Muslim jihad outfits, in reports emanating from the various fronts of the Third Jihad, it would be useful to have literal English translations provided - e.g. any article featuring Hezbollah should include, at the outset, a phrase of this nature: "Hezbollah, that is, 'party of allah'", or "Al Qaeda, that is, 'the fortress'".

erratum in the above. The final clause should read:
"e.g. any article featuring Hezbollah would include, at the outset, a phrase of this nature: "Hezbollah, that is, 'party of allah'; and any article about Al Qaeda would include a phrase like this, 'Al Qaeda, that is, 'the Fortress'".

"I say to the nonbelievers, as you bomb, you will be bombed. As you kill, you will be killed," said Umar Islam, 29
I wonder what that means for the muslims on board the aircraft that would have blown up...
As reps for the Religion of Peace®, I'm just not feeling their love! It must be me.
For those of you out there that do net belong to the mental slavery death cult called islam, I have a question. How many times in your daily routine do the words “kill” and “death”. Yes, it was rhetorical. These people are so messed up.

Twisted justice coupled by victimization - pretty much sums up the religion of hate mongering.

I think that it is about darn time - that such videos are made public.
Along with videos of beheadings, stonings, and general threats made against the public at large.
The Western public needs to wake up.
The FBI, CIA, Government, and other services have got to wake up now!
The Jihadist threat is growing and our governments are failing us.
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...
Let's see.. no liberty ALA "hate speech" laws.
No life... ALA "9/11, London and Madrid bombings."
No pursuit of happiness...ALA "honor killings" for simply trying to fit in with Western peers.
Where is Thomas Jefferson when you need him?
Oh wait.. he isn't too PC anymore is he?
I'd love to hear what Mark Twain would say.. that is before he'd be hauled off or banned because of his "hate speech."

They're just poor misunderstood, economically deprived "Asians".
Is there such a thing as being "Britonophobic"? Or Americanophobia?
Poor misunderstanding "Asians" in their inner spiritual struggle of Jihad.

Ah, so the Muslims are put off reforming their violent words and actions in our midst because they see how decadent we are. Yes, that must be a real distraction! At least some followers of Islam have the guts to say "This is who we are, this is what we do."
The practice of Islam is not compatible with Western societies. Rather than expecting them to change or assimilate (!) we should expect them to leave, and be prepared to assist them in this effort. Nothing can bring greater harmony to all concerned.

by thwarting the Islamists is Islam less dangerous or are we unwittingly acting in a long term counterproductive way to avoid immediate pain?
Had 9/11 been thwarted by a half awake FBI would we as a society have then had the will to act? For the cowardly Spanish an attack lead to more - democratically sanctioned - submission. So what is the better strategy - more or less security.
These are painfull question but what they highlight is that the true enemy within is dhimmitude in the face of an aggressive ideology.

He's right about that. But for the wrong reasons. All that trivia tranquilising western consciousness obviates any awareness of the Islamic threat.

The decadence and degeneracy of the UK is its own worst enemy and the Muslims see that weakness. The same goes for the rest of Europe and its loss of traditional values.

Easily!

I agree with Monkeywho that we should start making all these issues mainstream news. Let all the country see what these people are saying and doing and then let the MCB et al try to spin their lies. It’s no wonder so many people are ignorant of the problems when the debate is hobbled so.

Yes - these videos ought to be shown on the MSM.
When this plot was uncovered, and the airports here in GB were put under strictest security (no liquids to be taken on board the planes etc), a lot of people were of the opinion that this was over-reacting, and asked how these 'little bottles' could cause explosions to bring down an aeroplane.
Oh - and of course we had the usual accusations of the police being heavy-handed and over-reacting.
Well - it would be good if all those people were to eat their words now, but I won't hold my breath because we're certain to hear now how they all only wanted to play and didn't really mean it ...
So show the videos - they do mean it, its not 'harmless' - how many 7/7 do we need in GB, to make it clear to those blockheads that war has been declared on us?

NEW DELHI: The law prohibiting a person having more than two children from contesting panchayat elections was challenged in the Supreme Court on Friday by Samajwadi Party MP Abu Asim Azmi on the ground that it violated the Islamic dictat that no Muslim would restrict birth of children.
Azmi, recently in the thick of a controversy for picking up cudgels against Raj Thackeray's anti-north Indian tirade, challenged a Bombay High Court order which had dismissed his petition by following a 2003 SC judgment upholding the norm for Haryana panchayat elections.
Undeterred by the apex court judgment, Azmi said under Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution, Muslims had the fundamental right to profess and practice Islam according to the dictats of Quran.
"Profess and practice of religion includes following the essential and integral dictats of the Holy Book Quran, which is the only soul of Islam and Islamic law,"Azmi said through counsel Goodwill Indeevar.
"Not to kill any unborn child or restrict its birth either before or post conceiving is the essential and integral part of Islam,"he said and termed the Maharashtra local bodies norm framed in the year 2000 as violative of the fundamental rights of Muslims.
The Supreme Court had upheld an identical norm enacted by the Haryana legislature and rejected the argument that identical disqualification norms had not been put in force for the assembly and Parliament. It had said that every state legislature was given the freedom to enact suitable laws for panchayats.
Having failed to impress the HC with the argument that the disqualification norm applied only to the local bodies, Azmi thought of drafting in the religious angle into the petition.
The hearing on the petition was adjourned by a Bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice Aftab Alam as the petitioner had circulated a letter seeking deferment of hearing.

Unusually, about a month after the arrests, in a radio discussion, I heard a BBC journalist say that if these people had succeeded in bringing down seven airliners, mosques would have started to burn in this country. I sometimes think that a lot of people in the MSM, privately, have the attitude that the situation is, potentially at least, like a boiling kettle and that their duty is somehow to stop the lid blowing off.

Joseph Roundtree Foundation think that muslim immigrants just don’t feel at home in England.
““A perceived lack of acceptance in the UK has negatively affected the sense of belonging for all recent and established migrants in Britain.” Muslim immigrants, in particular, face so much hostility and discrimination they don’t feel at home. “
Islamophobia is rampant there, can you imagine that just the other day English medical authorities told Muslim women doctors they wouldn’t be allowed to perform open-heart surgery if they wore hijabs or burkas! Outrageous racism and Islamophobia, no wonder some Muslims want to bring down jetliners, who wouldn’t.

That's right, frankly, they are afraid. It is better for them to maintain order at any price than unleash the dogs of war. This goes for their sock-puppet politicians as well, they live in fear because once they lose control of the population they are lost. The few courageous ones to who stand up to Islam's brutality aggressions, such as Wilders, are then demonized by the MSM and sock-puppet pols because they fear the consequences. The trouble with this lack of strategy based entirely on fear is that is surrenders our hard won human freedom rights to the tyrannical threats and deeds of the enemy. Not acceptable. MSM and pols must grow a backbone, or lose their responsibility to the public. Better to unleash the dogs of war than to lose our freedoms.

I used to be opposed to the Death Penalty - but for the likes of these Satanic demons, I feel it is appropriate.
It was once called High Treason!!
Let's call it that again and publicly execute these Satanic warts.
They have no place in Society!!
And I recommend death but in a slow and painful way!! We have already seen what they were planning.
Best send them off to Hell but without any innocent victims.

There are deterrents available which might work on jahidis.
In the Philippines in 1900 the US army buried muslim dead in pits of pig excrement and the Russians are reported to have buried the muslims killed by their Special Forces in a secret location sewn into pigskins.
But of course these methods are forbidden to modern liberal societies where we must demonstrate our superiority by letting them kill us.

"Yes - these videos ought to be shown on the MSM......
So show the videos......"
The videos are currently part of the Crown Prosecution Service's case in an ongoing trial.
They can not, therefore, be released to the public even though their existence and content have been revealed to the MSM who are allowed to report on the case as it unfolds.
To do so would break the rules of British justice.
Once the trial is over, ALL of the evidence, these videos included, will be a matter of Public record and they will be released for public consumption and will no doubt be broadcast in exactly the same way that the 7/7 bombers' videos have been.
