He says this secure in the knowledge that no amount of saber-rattling by his own government, and no amount of violence committed in the name of Islam, will ever cause Western states to boycott products produced in the Islamic world.
"Speaker urges boycott of products from states blaspheming Islam," from IRNA (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
Majlis Speaker, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, on Sunday urged the Muslim World to boycott products from any country blaspheming Islam.Addressing the first session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) in the new Iranian year (started March 20), he condemned sacrilege of Islamic sanctities by several European media.
He referred to such moves as the ugliest form of cultural assault and the clearest way of violation of human rights.
Haddad-Adel added that such moves are reaction to vigilance of the Muslim nations....

An excellent start would be to boycott oil from islamic countries. No country in the world is as dependent on oil as Saudi Arabia, Iran is probably a runner-up. The west, however, would only loose 40% of its oil supply and would recover from that within 10-15 years. The islamic world would never recover.

Please feel free to boycott our social security systems, free education, free housing, free healthcare...etc.
When I say free, I mean paid for by generations of infidels.

What a great idea! Since our politicians are unwilling to embargo and isolate these countries, these countries should embargo themselves. All the nails, tires, gasoline, fabric and everything else that they buy from us to keep going can stay right here in the infidel countries. The muslim countries, standing proud against the assorted Satans, can know they are on the higher moral ground and punishing us while their populations starve. It's got my vote. Proceed apace!

Hi all:
How aggressive would these Moslem politicians be if the West cut off the medicines and other medical equipment imported to their countries? Obliged them to pay for their food at world market prices, prohibited them from engaging in medical tourism education and luxury shopping? How about all of the spare parts for their machinery, cars, planes, cranes and boats?
It's too bad that our politicians are so terrified of the Moslem's alleged economic clout. If the former had principles and imposed their own boycott and enforced by COCOM (Coordinating committe from the cold war) I doubt very much that these same Moslem politicians would be as aggressive, they'd all be scrambling to clinch deals to exclude their countries from the boycotts.

Muslim societies and states are, despite being the recipients of the most fantastic transfer of wealth in human history -- some ten trillion dollars since 1973 alone -- economic failures, dependent still on oil and on the rentier economy of those whose rulers and the well-connected courtiers of those rulers, have seized large amounts of that national wealth. Two generations have been raised with that vast wealth, and what has come of it? Saudi Arabia itself is still completely dependent on a vast and multifarious army of wage slaves. What art has come, what contributions to science, what signs of cultural life, other than the gold souk, and the jewelry souk, and the every-possible-kind-of-luxury car souk, and the Hediard-and-Fauchon deliveries of Parisian delicacies, and the private 747s, and the Maybachs in every other driveway of every other sheik? What? I keep quoting the observation of a Franco-Armenian architect who spent years in Saudi Arabia: "Money can buy everything, except civilization."
And they will not have to examine either the reasons for their economic failure, and cultural stasis, and penchant for despotism, if they are constantly allowed to find whatever they need -- medical care, access to education -- in the West.
It appears that no matter what funds are spent to conduct the Jihad that, while "non-violent," in the end is a more dangerous weapon of Jihad, the Money Weapon, that is deployed against us, through the funding of mosques, madrasas, campaigns of Da'wa, and pay for the armies of Western hirelings (ex-diplomats, ex-CIA agents, journalists, businessmen, even "scholars of Islam" of the MESA-Nostra esposito-feldman apologist type, some of whose members may even have had the shamelessness to show up at a dinner of a group named for a great scholar of Islam, Joseph Schacht, the one held in Rm. 7 at the Harvard Faculty Club this past Saturday, as if the noah-feldman sammy-glicks of this world would ever have been given the time of day by the likes of Joseph Schacht.
If they cannot study science (or anything else) in the West, cannot send their children -- as every member of the ruling elites all over the Muslim world so devoutly wish to -- to the West (for they recognize the wretched state of "Muslim" education, and even within their countries, they try to send their children to Christian, usually Catholic, schools -- Baghdad College, for example, where Allawi and Chalabi both were students, or Victoria College in Egypt, where the Egyptian-"Palestinian" Said went, or the Catholic school in Pakistan that Bhutto went to (and her father attended a school in pre-partition Bomby where not only Christians but Jews from the Iraqi diaspora were among his classmates. Imagine that you, and your children, are condemned to the solitary confinement of the Islamic world, that you can no longer travel to the West. Even if, as a ruler or propagandist or an editor at Al Jazeera, you spend all your time denouncing that West and blackening its name, you want to send your children to that West, just the way the sinister Sheik Al Qaradawi, apparently the one whose words on Al Jazeera have become a murderous fatwa against Wafa Sultan (who has gone into hiding), has two daughters in school in England. This does not have to be.
Nor does Western medicine, the fruit of Western science and technology, and of ways of thought inimical to Islam (which discourages free inquiry), have to be made available to Muslims. Imagine if you were suddenly told that if you didn't change your behavior, you would no longer have access to Western doctors, Western hospitals. Such a threat would get your attention, wouldn't it?
Finally, there are those rich Arabs who regard the West as one big fun-fair, a place to send their black-robed wives and dozens of children shopping in well-guarded herds, while the menfolk enjoy themselves with paid ladies and every conceivable debauch. Les Arabes du Golfe en goguette -- the rich Gulf Arabs on a spree -- is not a pretty sight, as those with their eyes pealed in London or New York or Paris know perfectly well.
Boycott? An exccellent idea. No access to education, medical care. And the arms that we sell them? Don't. Or if they are sold, let them be sold with the kind of fabulous markup -- fifty times the price of production -- that the Gulf producers enjoy in selling their oil. And make sure that the computer systems have been cleverly set so that if these airplanes, and other equipment, is ever aimed in certain directions, if planes for example, pass into certain latitudes and longitudes, they go haywire, or possibly even self-destruct. There are all kinds of ways to deal with the huge arms buildup in the Muslim states, to ensure that they will not necessarily prove effective against Infidels and nation-staes. Surely the arms sent to the Afghani muhajideen by the West, then diverted, once the Soviet Union had left Afghanistan, to other uses, have provided a lesson.
Boycott?
Tax oil, and keep taxing it, as it ought to have been taxed, in steadily rising incrments, beginning with the fall of 1973. Have as little to do with the world of Islam as possible, and certainly do nothing to make the lives of Muslims easier with infusions of Western money and Western know-how.
For the goal should be this: to force Muslims themselves to recognize that the failures, political, economic, social, intellectual, and moral, of Muslim states and societies and individuals are a direct result of Islam itself. And that will not happen if the West keeps supplying goods and services and, still more horribly, aid, to Muslim countries. Make the poorer Muslims go to richer Musilms for aid, and let's see how long the Umma sticks together once those poorer Muslims either get what they ask for, and then ask for more, or don't -- the amount of resentment that will steadily grow, and the pressure on the rich Arabs who, of course, are willing to spend to fight Infidels, or to give money for other Arabs to fight Infidels, but otherwise have little interest in the wellbeing of other Muslims (the cohesion of the Umma is ony as against Infidels), and certainly not in the well-being of non-Arab Muslims, such as those in Pakistan, who are merely despised, though used just as Bin Laden and his fellow Arabs despised, and treated with contempt, but used, the Afghanis.
Boycott? An excellent idea.

I also commend the idea of boycott! Excellent idea.
But why leave it at just "products"?
They should boycott everything blasphemic western economies and cultures produce and we should help them with this boycott. Yes. They should boycott western education, western medicine, western art, and any /all ideas that originate outside their boundaries.
Then we can sit back and watch Islamic countries fail upon the wieght of their own backwardness and intolerance.

How can we accomplish this? Two steps:
1. Require that all new cars sold in America be "flex fuel".
2. Give tax credits and other advantages to "flex fuels".
In a few years, we will have broken the stranglehold of the muslim world over the rest of us.
In the mean time, lets DRILL, DRILL, DRILL in ANWAR.

What an excellent idea! To boot, I think the Islamic religious leaders should encourage ALL MUSLIMS to leave those countries which blaspheme Islam - this would clearly include what is commonly known to be the entire non-Islamic world - and deliver themselves unto Islamic regimes IMMEDIATELY! Clearly, continued exposure to "dhimmi" cultures can only place "good Muslims" at risk and in harm's way.

Great idea, and I'm sure Lockheed-Martin et al. would be more than happy to comply. The problem is, the arms market is global, and the French or Russians or Chinese or Brazilians would be more than happy to step in to replace the U.S. Still, it's worth pondering.

Wer should stop hindering our development of given natural recourses. There is no logic to not pursuing both natural and alternative energy. Neither one on its own can accommodate current consumption in a pinch.
Stopping Foreign Aid and the selling of Consumer goods that remind them of how backward they are. Reducing consumer choice for them while expanding more of it towards US is a good thing.
Create the conditions where the Moderates are denied access to our Booze and Whores. As the Saudis should. Force them to decide what side of the fence they wish to live on.

The idea of a boycott, as appealing and satisfying as it may be, runs counter to the prevailing trends of globalization. How are you going to get the CEOs of any of the Western countries to forgo what might be perceived as an opportunity to make profits when the foreign policy establishments of the entire West are built around appeasing the Saudis in order to maintain access to their oil? Nothing will happen until an alternate source of energy is found, or at least until the Bush/Baker-Botts team is retired to the showers. In the meantime, a way needs to be found to somehow break the money stranglehold the Saudis have on the West.

"...when the foreign policy establishments of the entire West are built around appeasing the Saudis in order to maintain access to their oil?"
-- from a posting above
This error is commonly made. There is no reason to do anything to appease Saudi Arabia. In order to obtain oil from Saudi Arabia, or from any other oil producer, the only thing that any consumer need do is offer the market price. That's it. And if for some reason one producer -- let's say Venezuela -- decided it did not want to sell oil to the United States, or all the Arab countries decided that they would not sell oil to Israel, or to Denmark, or to the Netherlands, it doesn't matter. Oil is fungible. Oil can be obtained through dozens of possible sellers. If buyer X won't sell, buyers Y and Z will. It is actually easier for buyers to put pressure and organize boycotts of sellers of oil, than vice-versa.
The repetition of the phrase above, and the unexamined belief of so many that we need to placate or appease Saudi Arabia, a backward land, totally dependent on the West for its professional and managerial class, dependent on the West for advanced education, medical care, arms, and protection for the Al-Saud, needs to be held up for inspection, analysis, and ridicule.
Now, there are those who, on the Saudi payroll, directly or indirectly, in the capitals of the West, keep parroting this nonsense. It is their job to make Western policy-makers believe that "of course we can't offend the Saudis." But we can, we can and we should. They will still have to sell their oil on the world market. And as the rich Arabs have now been acquiring assets -- not all of them liquid, by any means -- in the Western world, these assets can be seen as hostages to fortune. For even if we were to seize all the assets of those countries that were funding the world-wide Jihad -- not the violent Jihad (no country is doing that outright, it is merely individuals in various Muslim countries, doing what comes not only naturally, but in the cases of some rich and decadent and outwardly westernized rich Arabs, it may be the best way they have, as they see it, of making up for their personal decadence -- funding the true-blue dedicated muhajideen, as a contribution to The Cause of Islam) -- there is nothing Saudi Arabia, or the rulers of Qatar, Dubai, and other places could do about it. They would still have to sell their oil. They need the money. And they have no way of imposing their will, other than to slyly buy up enough corrupt people, who in turn will attempt, and have attempted, and have succeeded, for quite a while in fooling some of the people all of the time. But only "some" of the people. The clear-sighted will understand that while it is very much in the interest of particular Westerners (those who are hirelings of the Saudis, those who can benefit directly from Saudi largesse or contracts) that policies in the West be made by those wrongly made fearful of Saudi Arabia and the lesser sheikdoms of the Gulf, it is not in the interests of this or any Western nation, or of the West as a civliization, or of Western infidels as individuals, to continue to belive, and what's more make policies on the belif, that anything at all needs to be done to placate the Muslim states. Nothing at all needs to be done. In fact, the more unbending we become, the more they will bend. For we have a thousand ways to make their lives more uncertain and unpleasant, beginning with the threat of seizing the assets of enemy aliens, certainly a threat that should be carried out if Saudi Arabia for example does not stop funding, with public and private money from Saudis, the mosques, madrasas, propaganda, campaigns of Da'wa, and armies of Western hirelings, all over the Western world, and going all the way to military measures that, in another age, we would not hesitate to have used long before now.

I applaud the Arab consumption habits and encourage them to consume even more. When the West finally does realize that the Ummah has declared war and is actively engaged in acts of war, it is a trivial thing to declare the property rights of the enemies of the West null and void. Think Bayer aspirin.
Arabs sell oil to the world market. Cash comes in. Cash goes out and Mercedes and 747s come in. Mercedes and 747s run as long as Western wage slaves are paid. Wages stop and 747s and Mercedes rot in the desert. Cash goes out to buy immovable assets in the West and property rights come in, property rights that are extended by the good grace of the Western people, property rights that can be forfeited by a simple stroke of the pen.
At the port of Jeddah in the early 80s I once saw with my own eyes, covered warehouses with open sides, hundreds of hectares (1 ha ~ 2.4 acres) of burlap sacks of rotting wheat stacked 10 meters high (~30 ft). It appeared to be enough grain to feed the whole of Africa for a decade. But because of the virtually non-existent domestic distribution system there it lay to rot. It was still there four years later when I left.
Every petro dollar spent on 747s and rotting wheat is a dollar not spent on jihad. So I do indeed encourage the Arabs to consume and consume and consume.

There is a fairly simple boycott that could be tried. Prohibit any airline that flies to a specific Moslem country (try Iran) from serving the USA. Prohibit any airport receiving such flights from serving the USA. Make the airlines and airports decide which country is more important, the USA or Iran. If your passport has an Iranian entry stamp, it is invalid for travel to, in or through, the USA. You would isolate the target country very quickly, and make the world have top choose between the USA and Iran.

"Every petro dollar spent on 747s and rotting wheat is a dollar not spent on jihad. So I do indeed encourage the Arabs to consume and consume and consume."
-- from a posting above
From a posting I put up many months ago on the subject of "soaking up" Saudi wealth, in every conceivable way:
"Stop paying the jizya. If the rich Arabs wish to pay for the shock troops of the lesser Jihad (that against Israel) with more than money for the families of suicide-bombers, well let them. It will soak up some of the funds otherwise available for the Greater Jihad, the one that involves spending OPEC revenues on mosques and madrasas, on propaganda and Western hirelings.
Soak up whatever amounts of Saudi money you can --with lawsuits, with Crockford's and Las Vegas gambling losses, with bribes to hush up those blackmailers who might put revealing photos of family members of Al-Saud at play on Internet sites where maddened Muslims back in Saudi might see them, with money to the latest incarnation (in every sense) of Madame Claude."
So the next time you see a Saudi dropping money at Las Vegas, be grateful to those gambling dens, there and in London and Monte Carlo, and for all the other louche activities that rich Arabs spend their money on. May they each buy ten Maybachs, and a privately-outfitted 747, and be sued for billions successfully by the victims of Muslim terrorism that is directly connected to the funds supplied by the Saudis and other rich Arabs, for mosques, madrasas, and propaganda of every kind, directed both at Muslims (to make them still more fanatical) at at Infidels (to make them still more heedless about Islam, by reassuring them, and lying to them, and confusing them).
Cut down on the use of oil, and tax it, and gasoline, so as to recapture oligopolistic rents.
End Western aid to Muslim nations. Full stop. That will orce the poor Arabs to go to the rich Arabs for aid that they now get, absurdly, from Infidels. That will not increase unity, but rather increase resentment, resentment that will be felt by the rich Arabs put on the spot and forced to give something, and by the poor Arabs or even non-Arab Muslims who will be amazed at the selfishness of the rich Arabs, as compared with the lavishness of the Infidels, and this will lead to disharmony, and all kinds of unpleasantness within the Umma.
Charge the Saudis and other rich Arabs for all Western goods and services prices that are commensurate with their gougiing of oil consumers over so many years.
And finally let them indulge their vices, as long as those vices lead to all kinds of transfers of wealth back to the Infidels. And of course, since knowledge of their decadence in the West could be quite dangerous to them at home, Western intelligence agencies should be following the Al-Saud, and similar ruling families, as they yacht about, or fly about, or traipse about, the West, and what they do should be filmed, and used -- or threatened to be used -- against them if they do not play ball.
