Why aren't Ibrahim Hooper and Edina Lekovic calling Zahar right now and telling him that suicide is forbidden in Islam? What's that? Because he would probably respond that Paradise is guaranteed to those who kill and are killed for Allah (Qur'an 9:111)? What are you, some kind of Islamophobe?
"Gaza groups agree in principle to truce," by Khaled Abu Toameh for the Jerusalem Post (thanks to Sr. Soph):
12 small Palestinian factions in Gaza have agreed in principle to an Egyptian-brokered truce with Israel, an Egyptian diplomat told The Jerusalem Post.Egypt's proposed cease-fire agreement includes a six-month truce between Israel and the Gaza Strip, an exchange of prisoners and the opening of Gaza's border crossings.
[...]
On Tuesday, top Hamas official Mahmoud Zahar said that Israel may have 200 nuclear warheads, but Hamas has 200,000 people who want to blow themselves up inside Israel.
Zahar, who was speaking to supporters at the Islamic University in Gaza City, said Israel would pay if it rejected the Egyptian initiative for truce with the Palestinians.
"If Israel says no, it will pay a heavy price," he said. "We are a besieged people and we will have to use all our tools to defend ourselves against Israel."...
Oh, and about that truce: Hamas and Islamic Jihad pattern their activities around Islamic teaching and law. Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, once said: "By Allah, and Allah willing, if I take an oath and later find something else better than that, then I do what is better and expiate my oath." Is there any reason to believe that Hamas does not subscribe to this point of view?

Sure. That's why they want a truce.

Since we have fallen to the level of schoolyard taunting, I'd like to point out that my dad can beat up your dad.

"If Israel says no, it will pay a heavy price," he said. "We are a besieged people and we will have to use all our tools to defend ourselves against Israel."
So they see Israel "saying no to extortion" as the offense, which they're in their rights to defend themselves against.

I sometimes ask who has the moral high ground in all this. Every time the Palestinians have an opportunity to claim the moral high ground, they suicide-bomb the shit out if it instead.

And now T.Blair (something like T Rex), has instructed Israel to open a strategic border crossing, and Israel is going to do it. This will allow multitudes of bombers to flow into Israel.
#1. Why does Israel even let a carpet bagging globalist like Blair, into the country.
#2. Why does Israel always seem like it is taking orders from some other Western power?
#3. When will Israel show these pikers the door?
#4. When will Israel start acting like Israel?

Forget Ibrahim Hooper.
Where are the Ahmadiyya? They're the ones who tell us suicide is wrong in Islam. Let's hear them speak publicly to Hamas and Hezbollah instead of just preaching to the West. Let's see them go to mosques in the Gaza Strip and West Bank instead of spending all their money building the largest mosques in the West. Let's see them forge a battle with their fellow Muslims for their heritage.

The 200,000 should find time to practice their trade in Gaza first. Blaming Israel for 200,000 training accidents should be no problem. If it were not for Israel existing, there would be no need for suicide bombers. There fore, no need for them to practice.
I'm sure the Alphabet Soup Journalists will be more than obliging to point those facts out.

Time Traveller - re 'lunatic asylum'.
did you know that that was exactly what Martha Gellhorn called it?
Way back when, just after the 1967 war.
From Caroline Moorehead's biography of Gellhorn, 'Martha Gellhorn: A Life', p. 427:
"The Gaza Strip, 'a garden spot, 150 square miles of rolling land covered with citrus groves and green fields, ' shaded by 'the waving plumes of eucalyptus trees', its roads lined by flowering oleanders, was nothing other than a huge lunatic asylum. It was the nastiest place on earth, and needed psychiatrists, not aid workers. The [six-day] war had neither touched nor troubled the refugees, yet according to Martha those she talked to were sullen, resentful, suspicious, afraid, and full of hatred". [NOTE: this was 1967/68].
"Liars as well as cowards, the Arabs were 'terrible people'".
Moorehead, of course, is doing her best to 'poison the well'; whenever the topic of Gellhorn's reporting on Israel comes up, Moorehead makes it plain that she thinks Gellhorn was wickedly biased against the Poor Palestinians [tm] and writing propaganda for Israel; but I think that with benefit of hindsight we can say that if Gellhorn used the phrase 'huge lunatic asylum' she was spot on. Not to mention the bit about the Arab [Muslims] being full of hatred! Forty years later things have only gotten worse, much worse.
On p. 428 Moorehead quotes something else of Gellhorn's, written at the same time, that re-echoes, terribly, today - a statement that she, Moorehead, appears to think beneath contempt, that I think she has cited only because she regards it as a classic example of Gellhorn's wrongheadedness and blind favouring of Israel, yet which, again, in the light of the hideous article under discussion today, is nothing other than the flat and dreadful truth.
"And the peace [after the 6 Day War] is as decent and straight as the war; and Israel gets no credit, because the world cannot endure real virtue. So Israel has to be cut down to size, AND LIED ABOUT {my emphasis}. Makes me sick."
Me too, Martha.
In 1960, BEFORE the Six Day War, while EGYPT controlled and ruled the Gaza Strip, Martha visited there and wrote about it in her classic article, 'The Arabs of Palestine'. She wrote:
"It is difficult to believe that these pleasant young men, in shirtsleeves or uniforms, with their numerous callers, their telephones, their mounds of mimeographed forms, their empty Turkish coffee cups, have any connection with the vainglory, the xenophobia, the anti-Semitic hatred that smear the press and pour over the air of their fascinating city."
And in light of the wailing and howling about how the Pooor 'Palestinians' in Gaza are suffering in durance vile because of the Jooz, a little historical perspective on how EGYPT ruled the place:
"The poor villagers of Gaza are not as well housed or cared for as the refugees. The Gaza Strip is not a hell hole, not a visible disaster. It is worse; it is a jail--with a magical long white sand beach, and a breeze, and devoted welfare workers (UNRWA) to look after the prisoners."
"The Egyptian government is the jailer."
OHO - back then, in 1960, did we hear any wailing from NGOs about the sufferings of the Pooor Palestinians , kept in confinement by the Wicked Egyptians?
"For reasons of its own, it [THE EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT] does not allow the refugees to move from this narrow strip of land.
" The refugees might not want to leave at all, or they might not want to leave for good; but anyone would become claustrophobic if penned, for thirteen years, inside 248 square kilometers.
"A trickle of refugees, who can prove they have jobs elsewhere, are granted exit visas [BY EGYPT]. The only official number of the departed is less than three hundred, out of 255,000 registered refugees. It seems incredible. Rumor says that more refugees do manage to go away illegally, by unknown methods."
"These locked-in people--far too many in far too little space--cannot find adequate work. Naturally, there is less chance of employment than in the other "host countries." Meantime, they are exposed to the full and constant blast of Egyptian propaganda."
By the way: Nonie Darwish has told us exactly what it was like to attend school in Gaza in the 1950s, and her account of the aggressive and vicious anti-semitic propaganda fed to children, then, precisely bears out Gellhorn's report, making nonsense of Moorehead's attempt to represent Gellhorn as inaccurate and prejudiced.
And today we have Hamas propaganda. Exactly the same 'vainglory, xenophobia, and anti-Semitic hatred' that Gellhorn perceived pouring from Egyptian Arab Muslim mouths in 1960.

"If Israel says no, it will pay a heavy price," he said. "We are a besieged people and we will have to use all our tools to defend ourselves against Israel."
Double talk, but he is half right, they will have to use all their tools, but it is they who will pay the heavy price. A new song 'When the lights went out in Gaza'...

I can only say that they must have the Magic Multiplying Martyrs recipe.
You see, in a slow and careful rereading of the jihadwatch archives I have just reached late September 2007. And in late September 2007
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/018287.php
Hamas is reported to have made the following claim:
"If Israel decided to return to occupy the Gaza Strip, it would find 400 kamikaze in expectation ready to die for their cause, and 50,000 combatants".
Wow. How do 400 wannabe suicide-assassins and 50 000 combatants in September 2007 become TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND by early May 2008?
They must have a pretty convincing recruitment drive, eh? Or...perhaps it's like the frog that blows itself up to make itself look bigger...?
This must be that amazing Muslim mathematics that we keep hearing about.

They (Isreal)should make the Gaza Strip into a pig farm, then Hamas and the rest of the crazies will not enter the zone.
