Thousands of Muslims rampage, ransack university building over exam question referring to Muhammad as a "raider"

Say Islam is a Religion of Peace, or we will riot. "University question riles Indian Muslims," from the Irish Sun (thanks to Twostellas):

In India, the University of Ranchi in Jharkhand state had to cancel its post-graduation history paper on Thursday, after thousands of Muslims took to the streets protesting against a reference to the Prophet Mohammed, which they said was derogatory.

That'll prove he was no raider!

The university Vice Chancellor cancelled the paper after studying the history paper question which caused some Muslim organisations to march and ransack university offices.

The police had to use force to control the mob.

Another with more details: "Ranchi boils over exam paper," by Jaideep Deogharia for the Times of India:

RANCHI: Angry groups of Muslims ransacked the main building of Ranchi University on Thursday protesting against the contents of a PG History question paper that sought comments from students on Prophet Muhammad who was described as a "trader" whose career ended as a "raider".

The language used in the paper so incensed some Muslims that they assembled in large numbers and attacked the university building. Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd following which the agitators forced down the shutters of shops on the Jharkhand capital's main road.

A lathi is a long cane, sometimes as long as eight feet, with a metal tip. Police in India use lathis for crowd control. And not missing a trick, in an attempt to deflect attention away from the rioters, Islamic groups are demanding investigation of police actions to control the mob:

Later, a delegation of socio-religious organizations met DC Avinash Kumar and SSP M S Bhatia demanding inquiry into the lathicharge and arrest of those who hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims by posing such an inflammatory question. An FIR was lodged after receiving the specific complaint and the police also ordered an inquiry into the lathicharge.

University officials cancelled the history exam and formed a panel to probe the matter following the fracas. Vice chancellor A A Khan said the question-setter was solely responsible for the disturbance. "Since the questions were set by Patna University, we are writing a letter to its vice chancellor asking him to act against the question setter," he said....

That will bear watching.

From the post.

Yet another example of the irrationality of these people. Does it not occur to anyone that if any action is to be taken it should be against the rioters?

Posted by: Eastview [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 4:51 AM

it is a fact, Muslims cannot stand the truth, especially if the Infidels know it!

"Yet another example of the irrationality of these people. Does it not occur to anyone that if any action is to be taken it should be against the rioters?"

Action against the rioters ? You bet the Indian government will instead take action against the intellectuals who set the very right question. Silencing the intellectuals has been a favourite Indian way of dealing with problematic situations. Especially when it comes to islam.

As for muslims, they are always on the look out for anything to vent their spleen. It's their failure as a society they are frustated with. It's the kafir cultural and economic superiotity they are jealous of. And the two factors give a good mix of violence.

Posted by: proud-hindu [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 6:07 AM

oh what will be next? That mo-mo there never picked up a sward? I stated to someone that that momo was a mighty war lord and they liked that until I mentioned the rape pillage and plunder...and mention that he became hostel and started the whole thing of the 'Bible' is violent too....

Hi my name is lil' Andy and I come from the land of infidels. I am very afraid of the Moslem culture because I do not understand it and I fear what I do not understand. I am perfectly fine with being nonmulticultural because of my lack of knowledge, and my inherent closemindedness. I like to watch episodes of Star Trek and pretend the crew of the Enterprise are The Western World and the evil Klingons are Islamic, and we blast them with our phasers set to kill. Phaser the blashphemers!

Posted by: theonecalledjonesy [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 6:38 AM

This is getting past the point of ridiculous. Is there anything muslims aren't offended by? Why don't we all just plaster duct tape over our mouths - and brains - so we don't hurt their poor widdle feelings any more.

Posted by: ImNoDhimmi [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 6:45 AM

So, if I have this right, a kafir question asker in an Indian University asked a question using historical fact as the basis for the question(s) and that set off riots? What a bunch of muddle headed idiots! Of course, since we all know the Muslims won't tolerate having a kafir speak the truth about Mo, we shouldn't be surprised. The idea of using the phaser on blasphemers is interesting; just a tad concerned about which way it might be pointed.

Posted by: spinoneone [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 6:58 AM

"Raider" is a polite, almost PC, description of Muhammad. I can think of a few stronger words to describe his lifestyle.

Posted by: Jan Sobieski [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 7:20 AM

This will be coming to the US and the UK anytime now.

"Education" is more about ideology and "feelings" these days -- so the muslim students will have a field.

You just wait!

Posted by: witness [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 7:23 AM

jonesy,

You want multiculturalism, do you? OK, take a vacation in Riyadh, and try to smuggle in a Bible. Loudly complain that its confiscation is a sin against multiculturalism, and that at the very least, as a goodwill gesture, the Saudi authorities should allow you to recite the Our Father in public. When they deny this request, loudly complain about it, and then loudly complain some more when they put you on the next plane out of there, while shouting at you, in perfect Mohammadan Arabic, "Go to hell, you stinking infidel! We don't need or want your multiculturalist bullshit!"

Put up or shut up, jonesy.

One of the disturbing things about this article was that it was a "post-graduate" exam.

Posted by: S Perry [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 7:47 AM

The truth hurts..............once again, infidels are blamed for relaying the truth about Mohammed. This is a matter of historical record. Mohammed started out as the business partner of a wealthy woman. When he left Mecca for Medina, he started raiding the very caravans he used to lead.

The rioting simply proves that this is true.

They'll find that offensive too. If our mouths are taped shut we won't be able to pray five times a day. We won't be able to testify to the greatness that is Islam.
It might also make it harder for them to slap us across both cheeks. They won't get the same reaction if the facial muscles are constricted.
We'll offend them.

Lex,

Correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt this has ever happened to you. If it has, then so be it, I will value your opinion more.

I will not, nor will I ever, participate in the scene which you describe because A. I do not read the Bible; B. If I did read the Bible, or believe in it's meaning in any way, I would certainly not be attempting to force my beliefs into another culture, C. The Bible aside, I certainly would never set foot in Riyadh. Its just too hot there, with too many Arabs to boot.

You seem to have an idea that multiculturalism makes sense only in the context of interloping your self-nominated superior views on those who you feel are inferior. My idea of multiculturalism is simply to have enough respect to leave those I feel are inferior alone.

I thought it came to the US and the UK a few decades ago. What has John Esposito been doing all this time?
There's no need for student riots. Professors already treat Islam with kid gloves and lie about its history. Universities have been long subdued. They gave us hate speech codes, where anything that offends another person is considered hateful and must be done away with. They would abolish freedom of thought if they could. What will happen when the overwhelming majority of Americans have passed through the university system?
It's only the ordinary man and woman who keep Islam from taking over. Our professors will be among the first to turn toward Mecca (if they don't already) five times daily. Anything to show just how accepting we are of "the other".

Jonesy,

I've never been to Riyadh. I'm simply taking someone else's word for it.

Speaking of self-nominated superior views...

c/o theonecalledjonesy and his Jonesy Report
The Narrow-Minded right strikes again!!!!
Apparently, the idiots at http://www.jihadwatch.org have no idea how to engage in relevant political dialog and/or commentary on the issues which they pretend to have as expertise. Seriously, I read the comments these simians make referring to news articles regarding the Moslem world, and I want to vomit in my fucking corn flakes. I have never before come across such narrow-minded, backward, insensitive sacks of shit in my life. I am ironically entertained by these posts, as they are so inane that I picture who, in fact, authors the idiocy. On one hand, I have a mental image of Joe Corapiti from Collingswood, New Jersey, who quit school in the 9th grade, married his sister and spends his days and his 67 IQ typing on the interwebs about how much he hates Islam. On the other hand, I picture Bobby Joe Ray, member of the NRA, not believing in evolution, believing in that lying sack of shit George W. Bush, shopping at Wal-Mart (only American made stuff, from China of course), living on his ranch outside of Odessa, Texas, shooting small game and pretending that he is shooting Muslin extremists.

I can't begin to tell you how inferior I feel, thanks to the illumination that you have provided to all of us "sacks of shit" here at Jihad Watch.

Uh huh... Mighty "white" of you MASTER Jonesy.

Is your multiculturalism superior enough to completely end your dependency on the inferior's petrol?

I didn't think so.

People, this is what MoonBat "one called jonesy" has written on his stupid "Jonesy Report!":

"Do the fundamentalist right-wing Bible-thumping sacks of shit from jihadwatch.org follow any logic in their discourse?" --from the Jonesy Report

What a loser, that Philadelphian called "Jonesy"

My picture of Jonesy can't be put into words. It's obscene.

Wow - read the paragraph above from "Jonesy's" site that Lex pasted! Jonesy - you really need to seek mental health care. You are overflowing with rage and hatred. Please, seek out a shrink asap.

Also, if there's anyone on JW with a "67 IQ" - obviously, that is you. Whoa! How blind you are to yourself!

Maybe we are looking at this story the wrong way. What if these post grad students decided not to study for their exam, and this was a perfect way to get them out of the test? If only I had been so clever while in college. Maybe that's what this story is really about.........Nah.

C'mon guys, you are being way too critical of "jonesy". He has a keen insight and much to offer in the counter-jihadist movement.

1) He's a big fan of Led Zeppelin.

Other commenters have already called attention to these two gems by "Jonesy," but I thought it would be worth posting them together:

I certainly would never set foot in Riyadh. Its just too hot there, with too many Arabs to boot.
My idea of multiculturalism is simply to have enough respect to leave those I feel are inferior alone.

Then there's the profanity-laced diatribe on his site, excerpted in a comment above, which alleges that Jihad Watch readers are inarticulate and backward. Highly ironic.

Anyway, I think I've seen enough.

Oh, no.

Not another smug, smarter-than-thou commenter who, ignoring the context of the thread, chooses to display his arrogance and intolerance... while criticizing us for what he's doing.

Facts are facts, jonesy; facts are not opinions. Have you ever studied law?

We discuss facts here.

FACT: an incident, act, event, or circumstance. A fact is something that has already been done or an action in process. It is an event that has definitely and actually taken place, and is distinguishable from a suspicion, innuendo, or supposition. A fact is a truth as opposed to fiction or mistake.

And then we offer our thoughts viz those truths. You offer your opinions and half-truths and, by vain repetition, try to convince us by your smart-ass bullying that your mistakes are indeed facts.

Get in the line with the rest of the castrati.

Wow, so this is what happens when a high schooler runs a blog? It'd be fun to see what this know nothing would write if he wasn't allowed to use a f-bomb every paragraph.

Jonesy, easily has the weakest counter-argument ever posted here on jihadwatch, even weaker than our good friend naseem. Jonesy, do yourself a favor, and go to school today. Now, I realize you probably get made fun of, and beat up a lot, but you are not going to make it in this world if you don't at least get your high school diploma.

"...I certainly would never set foot in Riyadh..."

Not surprising that the "tough" one jonesy wouldn't dare step foot in a muslim majority country like Saudi Arabia. Proving yet again, 'that multi-culturalism is a uni-cultural phenomenon.'

Posted by: An_Arbreshe [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 10:32 AM

Mohammad went on no raids. He went on 'expeditions' to explore the countryside, looking for those in need of spiritual help. Those he helped were so grateful that they gave him their lands, goods, money, and daughters to become slaves to this benevolent human being. Mohammad returned these kindnesses by letting some of them live...

The best part is, jonesy has his picture up over there, trust me, he does look exactly like you would expect him to (although the star trek reference should have been a dead give away), oh my, it's hilarious. I was more than correct in my assumption that he get's beat up and picked on a lot.

Mohammad was a raider, a looter, a rapist, a pedophile, an illiterate but a psychopathic genius who has the army of Mohmendenbots doing his will of plunder and demographic conquest well after his death for almost 1300 years. Indian intellectuals must not back down. What they said is the truth, and Muslims are falling in the pits of misery because they give up everything and go on a rampage of bombing, mass protests and threats to defend th prophet. Their days are gone. The days of the so called golden age Islam is dead. It is only for the fact of the oil and the liberal immigration policy is that they are taken advantage of democratic societies. The weak response by India and other countries tremble when Muslims go on a protest, is not a good sign. This behavior has become a known tactic by Muslims, cause mass protests and riots and we will get our way and respect for this accursed so called false religion of peace--Islam. It is the plague that inflicts upon this earth and humankind.

Guys like jonesy don't show up to learn anything, or to teach anything useful. They show up for the sword fight. He went to all the trouble to establish his blog to do what? Convince the world the JW commenter's are simians? This is the cross he chooses to be crucified on? Savage is right, liberalism is mental illness. Some of them just cover it up better than others. jonesy does no covering up at all, it's all hangin out there for all to see.
There used to be a colorful crazy old man here named jonesy. He would wear bright colors and wander around town singing and playing some musical instrument. He could neither sing nor play, but everyone loved him. The first time I saw him he was dressed in a pink suit, and a big pink flop hat, he was walking a slow goose step down main street clashing two large brass symbols together as he walked. I thought jonesy passed away, but maybe not, maybe now he has a blog. A little cranky, but still clashing those symbols....

This story perfectly illustrates why the strategy advocated even by some long-time posters here -- that the Infidels should focus their efforts on convincing muslims that mohammad was a psychopathic killer, that allah more resembles the Western conception of satan that of God, and that the koran is essentially a war manual, by marshalling the abundant evidence to prove same -- is misguided. Don't get me wrong; we should wage a propaganda war along the lines described immediately above. But to think that our truthful propaganda would convince a meaningful number of muslims to abandon islam or to remain muslims but renounce the islamic imperative to wage jihad against infidels is, I believe, wishful thinking.

Posted by: sheik yer booty [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 2, 2008 12:37 PM

I hear you sheik. I'm more interested in making information to Western folks who don't know anything about Islam (but sometimes think they do) and are therefore tempted to believe the "ROP" nonsense.

The original subject of this post about Muhammad being a "raider" is a good example. I've told people that Muhammad made a living of robbing caravans and eventually raiding whole towns. Most don't believe me until they read it for themselves from Islamic sources. Same goes for the 9 year old child rape, the mass murders, enslavement of prisoners etc.

Yes. The propaganda war should be waged for the purpose of strengthening our own resolve to oppose the islamification of the West, and not of winning over the muslim.

"Write an essay of not more than 1000 words, on how muhammad started as a trader and ended up as a raider."

Posted by: arjun.sevak [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2008 3:03 AM

Ah, er, eh, didn't Mohammed brag about his raids? Didn't Mohammed put down in the Koran about how to divinely distribute plunder gained from raiding? Didn't Mohammed discuss the divine legality of sexual intercourse with captured women and whether they ought to be considered to be married or not?

Are not then the protestors against "Mohammed as raider" blaspheming the Prophet by denying his martial prowess and military genius? Just asking.

Final, final thought about Jonesy,

If he is upset with me in particular -and his quoting TWO of my responses to him on his blog suggests that he is mightily irked- I should mention that I replied to his sneeringly contemptuous and scatterbrained commentary as the Good Book advises:

"Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he imagine himself to be wise." Proverbs 26:5

Posted by: Lex [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2008 8:27 AM

Maybe George Orwell's omnipotent Party was right:

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
We see examples of this maxim everywhere, from Jharkhand State to Jonesey's inanities.

Too bad, Jonesey and your like, that you never read the Bible (nor would venture to read the Quran). Otherwise you might become become broadly educated and dispel your ignorance.

Too bad that you will never note the universal applicability of this Sermon:

Judge not, that you not be judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

As was said...he's just here to bark at us and make noise, like some annoying dog on a chain that raises hell as you pass by. I think I mentioned the word Troll when this punk was present, and he immediately took my words to mean him/it. It knows what it is apparently.
I won't even attempt to converse with a hate filled, potty mouthed little punk like him. His opinion of us/me kinda precludes it...
Any further attempts by hateboy to portray himself as being a reasonable person interested in dialogue will fall on "deaf ears" around here I think. He's just here to be an ass...nothing more. I mean....could his opinion of us get any lower? Certainly my opinion of him couldn't.

Oh... I took so long on my rant there....he was banned by the time I finished. Good.

"Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he imagine himself to be wise." Proverbs 26:5

Not bad, Lex. This would seem to suggest that fools should not go unchallenged, otherwise they might get big heads. But the previous verse reads "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself". Proverbs 26:4. This would suggest you shouldn't wallow with pigs.

Hmmm, these would seem to be contradictory. Someone care to reconcile them?

The 26th chapter of Proverbs seems to be devoted to advice about handling fools (and sluggards). I like the one that says "The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer discreetly." Proverbs 26:16. I also like the one that says "For lack of wood the fire goes out; and where there is no whisperer, quarrelling ceases." Proverbs 26:20. This could refer to gossip, but it would seem to have wider applicability.

Eastview,

Solomon (believed to be the principle author or source of Proverbs) appears to be a tad conflicted, but perhaps he meant that fools should be handled on a case by case basis. This calls for wisdom. Would that we were all wise guys (and gals).
