Actually, Islamophobes didn't set this one off. It appears to be jihadists of one type or another, but who exactly did it is as yet unclear.
"Motorcycle bomb explodes outside Yemen mosque, killing 18," by Ahmed Al-Haj for Associated Press (thanks to Mimi):
SAN'A, Yemen - A bomb rigged to a motorcycle blew up amid a crowd of worshippers leaving Friday prayers at a mosque in a rebel stronghold of northern Yemen, killing at least 18 people and wounding about four dozen, officials said. The attack occurred in Saada, a city in a mountainous Shiite Muslim area on the border with Saudi Arabia where a rebellion by members of the al-Zaydi sect erupted in 2004. Thousands have died in violence between the rebels and the government of this predominantly Sunni country.
Both sides blamed each other for the attack in Saada, where officials said most of the 18 dead and approximately 45 injured were worshippers filing out of the Bin Salman mosque.
Mohammed Abdel Bari said he was inside the mosque when he heard a strong explosion. "I saw crowds of people and two charred vehicles. I saw scores of people laying on the ground," he said.
Government officials blamed the bombing on rebel leader Abdel-Malek al-Hawthi and said six people had been arrested in Saada.
"Those who carried out this ugly crime are terrorists and criminals linked to the terrorist Abdel-Malek al-Hawthi," an Interior Ministry statement said.
Al-Hawthi denied involvement and charged that senior army officers staged the attack to stoke tensions.
"We denounce and condemn this incident," he told The Associated Press by telephone. "We have nothing to do with this attack whatsoever."
The rebels say the government is corrupt and too closely allied with the West. The government has charged al-Hawthi with sedition, forming an illegal armed group and inciting anti-American sentiment.
Many officials in Sunni-led Saudi Arabia and in Yemen's government suspect Iran and Libya support al-Hawthi. Sunni governments in the region suspect Shiite Iran is trying to increase its influence by supporting Shiite groups like the militias in Iraq and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Al-Hawthi denies that his group, known as the Young Faithful Believers, receives funds from Iran.
Yemen is a key U.S. ally in the Middle East, but it also is the ancestral homeland of Osama bin Laden's family and al-Qaida loyalists are active in the country.
A key U.S. ally? Really?

I'm surprised the AP article contains the actual word terrorists (In the quote from the Interior Ministry statement). Politically correct AP almost never uses that word.

"

Since Yemen has less than 1% of its population as Non MUslim. (the Muslims have successfully removed the Christians from their land ---removal of Christians and Non MUslims is what Islam is all about where ever Islam appears, it is their prime objective).
THe Interior Ministry truthfully could have said:
"Those who carried out this ugly crime are Islamic terrorists and Islamic criminals linked to the Muslim terrorist Abdel-Malek al-Hawthi".

"Yemen is a key U.S. ally in the Middle East"
I will bet this is news to the Yemen government..

A key US ally?
This should be news to the US as well as the Yemeni government, given what happened to the USS Cole.

Yep, the Yemen Government had some USS COLE bombers in jail, but released them after the bombers pledged alligence to the YEmen Government.
gee, A Muslim government releasing Muslim terrorists who pledge alligence to the Muslim government.. was anyone surprised?

I forgot to say...The Cole bombers who were not released..escaped.
and apparently they did so with ease.
I smell a rat , a Muslim one at that. THese Muslims prisons very seldom have escapees, in fact, the prisoners there seldom see freedom ever again.
MUslim prison guards letting Muslim terrorists escape..who knew?

MUslim prison guards letting Muslim terrorists escape..who knew?
We call them terrorists. The prison guards call them holy warriors. How could they imprison holy warriors? It's not Islamic.

Shi'a and Sunnis at it again. Yes, of course, the American government must do what it can to try to stop this kind of internecine warfare among Muslims, in Yemen as in Iraq. Otherwise there might be a "catastrophic" situation; otherwise there might be "chaos" in the Middle East. And somehow this "chaos" and this "catastrophe" that will ensue will, we are told, be bad for us, in ways always unspecified, as if we are simply to accept the conclusion of our betters -- you know, the people in the government who pick up their news just as you and I do, but who lack the time, and the inclination -- unlike you, unlike me -- to spend the time to read about Islam, to read the texts of Islam, to learn what the Western students of Islam -- not the espositos but the real thing -- have said about the contents of Islam. For they are just too occupied and preoccupied to sit in a room and read. They may be cosseted, chauffeured about, and so on , but their daily lives are full of meetings, and hectic busyness, and travelling hither and yon, and getting someone above to "sign off" on something, and coming up with "policies" that need to be formulated by consulting with everyone and his brother, and then written up in the stilted bloodless bureaucratic language which is now the favored medium -- they know no other, they have never been exposed to any other -- of those in the government, and who presume to instruct, and to protect us. They have to deal now with this crisis, now with that, and with every part of the world. How can someone as mediocre as Bush, advised by someone as mediocre as Rice -- people who have never had the inclination or leisure to read widely in history, or to exercise their imaginative faculty through literature (and if you cannot imagine something, it is difficult to think about it -- if you cannot imagine an islamized Western Europe, if it is simply beyond you, then you will not worry about what that would mean, and are not likely to come up with ways to avoid that completely plausible and deplorable, and entirely avoidable, future for the heart of the West).
One more thing. If leaving Iraq would, as some direly warn, cause great disruption, chaos, a "catastrophe" in the area, then why don't any of the Sunni Arab states, presumably those who would have the most to lose, bother to give any aid at all to the government of Iraq? (Answer: why should they? They do not wish to shore up Shi'a who rule in Baghdad. They will, however, continue to urge the Americans to stay, in order to keep the Sunnis in Iraq supplied with guns and money and with a powerful protector that will pressure the Shi'a to make concessions, and concessions -- and the Americans will, listening gravely to the advice of rulers of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the other small sheikdoms, fall for it, not realizing how they are being suckered.
And if leaving Iraq would, as some direly warn, lead to terrible disruptions in the supply of oil (during the Iran-Iraq War, that lasted for eight years, there was little disruption and the price of oil went steadily down), then why aren't other oil-consuming nations concerned? Why hasn't China lifted a finger, or spent a penny, to help promote stability and prosperity in Iraq? Could it be that the Chinese are, like the Sunni Arabs, perfectly content to watch the continuing squandering of American money, materiel, men, morale, happy to see us bleed ourselves, in order to do something which will benefit China and other oil-consumers as much as, perhaps more than, it will benefit the United States?
How dumb do we have to be, and for how long?

Islam, first it destroys up the mind with its dismal dogmas, then it sends its brainwashed warriors out to do the same to the body.
The Religion of Blow Them to Pieces, endlessly regurgitating its warlord founder's inhuman viciousness.

Yes, Hugh:
the jihad generals know how naive and foolish the Americans are. And these great US 'administrators don't even realize how they're being suckered and bled.
Dumb indeed. Beyond stoopid. But it will get a lot worse before it ever gets better. With continued Muslim immigration, Islamic finance and pandering we are losing every day.

Maybe they heard that more non-canonical Koran fragments were discovered in this mosque (as other have been, in a previous Yemeni mosque) and were trying to destroy the evidence of the fraud that is the "perfect" Koran before it spread?
Like Orwell, they understand that: "He who controls the present, controls the past, and he who controls the past, controls the future".
Islam: preventing the truth from getting out since 622 A.D.

This time around, with us out of the way. Iran will close the Gulf to shipping. Just about any old time it pleases them. Ineedajob will be flipping us his little Birdie while we have our Thumbs stuck up our backsides. From somewhere over the Horizon, far far away.

Perhaps Yemen is a key US ally in the fact that perhaps we have many CIA agents over there or something? I know that Yemen is a terror watch country defined by the State Department. So officially Yemen is not a US ally. To remain a great superpower, we must control the middle east. The only way to control the middle east is militarily. The only way to control stupid people who believe in someone who loved to kill is to stick a gun in their face and force them into living normally, until they live normally without the gun in their face. We have dove directly into a war between two groups of people "Shia and Sunni" who are arguing over who is a caliph and who is not, 600 years ago! We cannot allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons because the ignorance of their government is self-evident. An ignorant government cannot be allowed to have Nuclear Weapons, under no circumstances. We have the ability to squash this type of ignorance, unfortunately the American Public in general cannot handle such an undertaking. People get upset that 4,000 people have died in 5 years of war, yet remembering that these soldiers are part of a broad solution, and they are fighting for the 3,000 people that died in one day. Wake up America, I have never seen so many people of Arabic decent, not all Arabs are muslim, in America my whole life. If we are not careful, we could end up like Turkey or Sudan who allow their elected officials to be radical. It also only takes 1 person to cause havoc, example VT Massacre, and that count was only limited because of the amount of ammo he had. Stop being defenseless. We won the Revolutionary War because every citizen was ready to defend their property. Are you ready to defend your property, and way of life?
