Guess who's speaking at the local mosque

TracyPoitier.jpg
Nope, guess again

Unless you live in a rural area, there is probably a mosque (or more than one) in your town, and most people -- including local law enforcement officials -- regard them in much the same way as they do the local churches: with complete indifference. It is generally considered to be in the worst possible taste to suggest that possibly, just possibly, it might be worth checking into the local mosque's sources of funding, and what they're teaching there. As a Las Vegas city councilor exclaimed when some people objected to a proposal to build a mosque right beyond the fence of the international airport, "What's the big deal? It's just a church!"

But imagine what the outcry would be if your local church sponsored speakers like these:

Dayton, Ohio: According to Patrick Poole of Central Ohioans Against Terrorism, Khalid Yasin will be lecturing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton on May 16, sponsored by Dayton’s Masjid-at-Taqwa. Who is Khalid Yasin? Patrick Poole tells us this about him:

For example, consider some of his stated positions:

* Yasin says that the US government was behind the 9/11 attacks.
* Yasin claims that AIDS was invented at a US government lab and spread by Western governments through UN agencies and Christian missionaries.
* Yasin advocates for the death penalty for homosexuality.
* Yasin justified the terrorist bombings in Bali because of years of Western oppression.
* Yasin says that the Quran permits wife-beating [cf. Qur'an 4:34] and that equal rights for women is a “delusion” and “foolishness”.
* Yasin calls the beliefs of Christians and Jews “filth”. [cf. Qur'an 9:28]
* Yasin says that Muslims cannot have non-Muslim friends. [cf. Qur'an 5:51]
* Yasin rejects any separation between Islam and the state and openly advocates for the reestablishment of the caliphate. [cf. Qur'an 24:55]
* Yasin visited Jemaah Islamiah terrorist leader Abu Bakar Bashir in prison.
* Yasin has lectured with Hizb-ut-Tahrir hatemonger Omar Bakri Mohammed, who was banned from the UK in 2006.
* Yasin was in Saudi Arabia on 9/11 soliciting support from the Al-Qaeda front Al-Haramain Foundation, which was designated a terrorist organization in 2004 by the US government, to help finance his Islamic Broadcasting Company.

There is much, more about him at Central Ohioans Against Terrorism.

Manchester, New Hampshire: The Islamic Society of Greater Manchester (thanks to M.) on May 4 held a fundraiser for its new mosque, featuring Imam Siraj Wahhaj.

Siraj Wahhaj is a big star on the American Muslim speaker circuit. In 1991, he was the first Islamic cleric to give an invocation to the U.S. Congress. However, he has also warned that the United States will fall unless it “accepts the Islamic agenda.” He has lamented that “if only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.” In the early 1990s he sponsored talks by Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman in mosques in New York City and New Jersey; Rahman was later convicted for conspiring to blow up the World Trade Center in 1993, and Wahhaj was designated a “potential unindicted co-conspirator.”

Just days before Wahhaj appeared, on April 30 the Islamic Society of Manchester brought in Ingrid Mattson of the Islamic Society of North America.

The Islamic Society of North America was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation jihad terror charity case last summer. Also, it was named in a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood memorandum as one of the organizations pursuing in the United States "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

Now imagine if the local Catholic parish featured a speaker who said that the beliefs of Jews and Muslims were "filth" and that homosexuals should be killed, or a speaker who said that Constitutional law should be replaced by religious law, or who was a representative of an organization that was an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror funding case, and was named as part of an effort to destroy Western civilization in a memo from the group spearheading that effort. If any of that were happening in your local parish, do you think you'd only be hearing about it here?

I dunno, but Khalid Yasin sounds like a regular Joe-Muslim guy to me.

He's just talking the standard stuff, right outta the Koran, the Hadith and all the vanilla beaten path rhetoric we're not allowed to see in the MSM.

What's everyone so upset about? He didn't advocate for revoking the new State Department lexicon about not saying the "J" word, or the "I" word or the "T" word.

So, what's the big deal with this guy?

I think we have three mosques here in Denver. One for the Sunnis, one for the Shiites and one for the converts that haven't decided which gang they want to claim.

If the Catholic Church sponsored such a speaker, I don't see too much of an outcry from anything on the list except for
- death penalty for gays
- equal rights for women a delusion

You said "But imagine what the outcry would be if your local church sponsored speakers like these"

I took it literally. There wouldn't be much of an outcry because inviting him to speak would be seen as a reaching out beyond your own local communities. There might be complaints from some parishioners but the larger community would applaud. Even many parishioners would take it as an opportunity to prove how broadminded they were, by welcoming and listening to someone with whom they disagree.
This guy can call the beliefs of Jews and Christians "filth" and more people than not would nod right along with him. Haven't they been trying to strip this country of its Judeo-Christian heritage for the last half-century? The New York Times would be in ecstasy. Europeans would proclaim a holiday for American independence.
Now call the Muslim beliefs "filth" and you'll have a fight on your hands for one reason: such a statement means you don't accept "diversity".
Not every church is immersed in the teachings of Jesus Christ and His calls to love your neighbor.
Just about every statement on your list (except for the two noted above). I could hear a leftist preacher (a Jeremiah Wright type) say: check.

Want to help stop the worldwide jihad and the spread of Islamic law?

Jihad Watch is a 501(c)(3) organization, so I guess cannot directly organize political action. But you can help stop jihad and sharia if you join American Congress for Truth, here:

Robert Spencer is on ACT's board of advisors.

When I was interested in investigating my local (Saudi Funded) Mosque/Islamic Association I turned to the experience of Central Ohioans against Jihad. Ordinary people like them are the future 'Wide-Awakes' in the Midwest, like the famous Wide-Awakes that were organized and disciplined defenders of Lincoln and the Republican party in 1860.

Perhaps Wide Awakes will rise again against Islamic / multiculti slavery and save the Union....

Australia: Monash University Succumbs To Islam

Regarding the fundraising for the new mosque in Manchester, NH... it is local Leftist, mainstream Protestants and liberal-Leftist Jews who helped get this campaign started. And they will brook no criticism from any quarter about this. Here in New Hampshire, now a Blue State (no longer a Republican one)there are oodles of multi-culti practitioners who will shout down any criticism of Islam.

But, hey, these people are now protected in some very special ways by our State Department and Department of Homeland Insecurity.

As long as we have a president who is in bed with the Saudis and company , nothing will be stopped. It is a leadership problem nothing else.
After Bush the father and Bush the son . let us hope that the holy spirit will take over and fix the problem by declaring the teaching of Islam illegal.

Paging my fellow Australian posters

the 'American Congress for Truth' sounds like a good idea.

Does anything approximating to an 'Australian Congress for Truth' already exist?

If not, perhaps it's time we founded one.

The local leftist, mainstream Protestants and liberal Jews who are arrogantly ignorant of islam are and will be the cause of much suffering in this world. They do not understand that evil = ignorance =suffering. Their fear blinds them. They do not understand they have sold their soul to islam.

They must be weaned from the sugar pap of a sugar daddy government, a bloated bureaucracy that becomes heartless and stagnant over time and crushes the spirit and deadens precious life. They are the near target and the key to winning this war.

Robert's 'calling out for debate' is a wonderful weapon. We must educate ourselves and strive to replicate this tactic. Philosopher charlatans, dhimmi scholars must be called out and challenged with the truth.

Doubly ironic that non-Muslim liberals (and more than a few dhimmi conservatives here and there, especially the Dinesh D'Souza type) are a great aid to Islam's continuing infiltration of the West and yet it is Islam itself which keeps discrediting Islam more than anything else. So, many clueless Westerners further Islam's agenda and differently clueless Muslims harm their own goals (because, let's face it, Muslims just can't help doing so precisely because they are Muslim). It's a upside down world to be sure and the irony is likely playing on a stage near you.

The Muslim population of New Hampshire and especially Manchester is being enhanced by refugees resettled from Muslim countries by the US State Dept.

Manchester had a huge influx of Somalis a few years back and here is a post I wrote about Iraqi Muslims now being resettled in Manchester with the help of one Nabil Migalli Chairman of the Arab-American Forum there.

http://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2008/01/27/iraqis-arriving-in-manchester-nh/

I agree with the reader above who said that we need to become organized through groups like the American Congress for Truth, which also, by the way, has been reporting extensively on Muslim immigration and refugee resettlement in the US.

'The local leftist, mainstream Protestants and liberal Jews who are arrogantly ignorant of islam are and will be the cause of much suffering in this world.'

I don't understand why you point to mainstream Protestants and not include Catholics as well in this indictment. I'm not saying I disagree with you, but the pope did just pray in a mosque last year and the last pope inappropriately apologized for the Crusades. The one white guy that was praising Jeremiah Wright AND Farrakhan was a Catholic priest as well. I guess my point is why chastise Protestants when all of the Christian community is ignorantly complicit in the spread of Islam.

This article highlights the urgent need for a central online resource, containing the truth about the Muslim organisations and spokesmen - those "moderates" - who are at the forefront of the da'wa campaign in the West.

Sure, one can Google for information on them, but many people do not have the time or the inclination. Besides, such searches result in too many hits. One site, indexed and easily searchable, run by a trusted and reliable source, and carrying all that one needs to know about Messrs. Yasin, Wahhaj and friends, would be an invaluable tool.

Posted by: Matamoros [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 9:00 AM

In response to ThackerAgency, you are so right, one must include Catholics. We have found that Catholic Charities as a subcontractor of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is the lead agency in resettling Muslim refugees in the US. As a matter of fact, we have noticed at Refugee Resettlement Watch that wherever you find Somali refugees resettled it's in most cases the work of Catholic Charities.

As a Catholic, I no longer contribute to any of these national Catholic charitable groups.

The Catholic Church has gone Left over several decades, no doubt owing to the many European and American Catholics who have left the Church for myriad reasons, not all of them having to do with pedophile priests. Pope Paul VI's encyclical deeming birth control illegitmate did much damage. The Church is now strongest in Latin America, Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. It's only natural that it reflects the flock - anti-Western (for the most part) and multi-cultural.

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 10:50 AM

unless you're a FLDS church or some other sect (Branch Davidians) deemed unworthy of Constitutional protection. Perhaps law enforcement should have been listening in on all those "preachings" at the Trinity United Church in addition to the various mosques that are rapidly populating our towns.

Posted by: HOV Dummy [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 11:56 AM

HOV Dummy,
You can go to any church on Sunday and people won't think twice. If you want to see what services are like, it's your prerogative. The church community will welcome you.
Somehow, after 9/11, the idea of a government agent entering a mosque became a violation of someone's civil rights. TUCC let us listen in by taping their own services and putting them up for sale in the gift shop or on the net. (Imagine if the FBI had done it!)
The mosque is akin to a secret club. Only certified members may enter and all must know the secret password.
