Iraqi jihadists use 8-year-old girl as suicide bomber

The lovers of death achieve a new low. "Girl, 8, strapped with remote-controlled explosives and used as suicide bomber by Iraqi insurgents," from the Daily Mail, May 14 (thanks to John Doe):

An eight-year-old girl was strapped with remote-controlled explosives and used as a human bomb by Iraqi insurgents in a blast that killed an Iraqi commander earlier today.

An Iraqi captain was killed and seven other soldiers were injured in the explosion which took place in the town of Youssifiyah, south of Baghdad.

The explosives were detonated as the girl approached the Iraqi commander....

Involving women in fighting violates religious taboos in Iraq, but extremists are recruiting females and youths to stage suicide attacks in a desperate attempt to beat tightened security measures.

Women can avoid thorough searches at checkpoints because of Islamic sensitivities, and four have carried out suicide bombings since November....

Were this girl's parents involved in this in any way?

Why, was nobody willing to marry her? Guess she was over the hill by 2 years.

On NPR yesterday ("All Things Considered"), there was an interesting segment on Iraqi translators for the US military who have recently been resettled here. One woman who was interviewed said she had wanted to leave Iraq in part because one of her young children has Down syndrome, and insurgents in her area had been using Down syndrome and other mentally-disabled people (including children!) as suicide bombers.

First the mentally disabled, now young children. There are truly no depths to this depravity.

kaffirchick,
But how are the bombers getting their hands on these children and impaired adults? It can only be with the cooperation (willing or unwilling) of the parents.
Maybe the parents are threatened. Is that all it takes for them to surrender their children? Who will speak for THEM when the time comes?

PMK,

Good point. I believe in some cases the children are kidnapped. The translator I heard interviewed yesterday made the point that she did not worry about her kids playing outside here (they're now living in Seattle), but she was afraid to let them outside back in Iraq. The threat to her son with Down syndrome was specifically mentioned. I'd hate to think any parents would willingly hand over such a young child (or any of their children, for that matter).

Then again, when I recall the story reported here a few weeks ago of the eight-year-old Yemeni girl whose parents gave her to be raped--uh, married--to a man in his late 20s, I fear you may be right about some parents' complicity in these acts of evil.

My God, just when you think these brave "Knights of Allah" couldn't sink any lower...

When my 8 year old granddaughter comes home from school today I am going to put my hand on her head and thank G-d that she was not born into that hopelessly twisted culture.

I was listening to the Michael Medved show earlier and he said that the original reports said that she was only 8 years old, but that now they are reporting she was actually 16 years old. Doesn't make it any better of course!! But slightly less jarring, if that's possible.

It's unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.

Islamic Barbarians.

Does this mean that these terrorist are more fearful of tightened security than they are of Allah?
This says a lot for 'tightened security', but not much for lackluster jihadists who fear infidels more than Allah. Mohammad would know how to deal with those who don't fear Allah. One thing about Mohammad, he always knew in which direction the enemy was, especially one with loot and slave girls. 'Tightened security', as in the battle of Badr where Mohammad was outnumbered, did not phase him one bit.
He stuck with Allah and Allah won.
These fiends in Iraq have soiled the garments of Mohammad. They have failed him in their desperation to beat 'tightened security'. They have dragged Allah's name in the mud. The ummah should shun and reject them, if not treat them as apostates...But it won't...

Whether 8 or 16, did she have her husband's permission?

Involving women in fighting violates religious taboos in Iraq.....except when it doesn't.

They have an excuse for everything.

Stealing is not allowed, except for "hunger". So that must mean they can steal your house and sell its contents to buy food to satisfy their hunger.

Iranian girls cleared minefields with their bodies, carrying with them a religious symbol to ease their passge into heaven.

Islam is a religion of peace....except if the other person isn't a Muslim.

Mohammed didn't abide by his own rules. He is the example they follow. He signed a treaty and then broke it.

No rule is ironclad with them, except the one that says infidels are bad.

Religion of Peaceful exploding children.

Obviously we don't know if the parents were complicit in this case. As we have seen, however, Palestinian mothers celebrate the "martydom" of their children, who are indoctrinated from birth to believe the very best thing to which they can ever aspire is "martyrdom" for allah.

She was probably mentally-disabled.

Just when you thought Muslim thugs couldn't go any lower - they usually have done.

Turns out that she was 16, after all. That should make it okay.
