He was arrested voor complaints registerd in 2005, and held in jail for a day and a half. They probably won't be able to get him sentenced if it even gets to court, but his anonomity is ruined, he will be an other one on a long list of people whit protection or the other list of people who dident get protection in time.

I certainly don't agree with every foreign policy initiative my government has taken where Israel is concerned (e.g., the stupid Annapolis conference from late last year), but America remains the staunchest friend Israel has and most Israelis know that. And I have no doubt that Muslim nations are on notice through third parties like the Swiss that any nuclear attack on Israel will be met with obliterating force by America. When you write that we are in bed with Israel's enemies, you might as well just add that folks like Rabin and Sharon were in bed with those same enemies because they engaged in intiatives that, in retrospect, they shouldn't have. Diplomatic mistakes and errors don't add up to what you aver. I'm proud of my country's backing of Israel, wish Israel long life and never for a moment consider we're in bed with those who seek the destruction of the Jewish state. Negotiating unwisely at times? North American can become energy independent of the Middle East for about 500 billion dollars. About half the cost of the Iraq war. The other 500 billion, we should spend on finding alternatives to an oil economy.

Future plans aside, we must engage in a Cold War now against the Middle East. Stop the aid and start undermining their ideology and economies. Establish a Radio Free Middle East satellite system with free programming. Screw the Mullahs and the Imams. We'll start beeming in Billy Graham and Glen Beck, then we'll see them squirm. :)

Put my unfortunate phrasing down to the fact that a lot of the stories here lately, about the level and scale of 'stealth jihad' infiltration in the USA, both in the civil service and academe, have been causing me a great deal of worry.

Can you be completely sure that your next President - or your next, or your next - will stand with Israel, if push comes to shove? Carter managed to do a terrible lot of damage. The wrong man, at the wrong moment, in a mere five seconds of illwill or misunderstanding, heeding bad advice from someone either ignorant or malevolent, could undo...everything.

America has, in the past 60 years, come within an ace of throwing Israel to the wolves, on two occasions that I know about; both times, seemingly, because of the influence and advice of the Arabists in the State Dept. In both cases it was a terrifyingly close-run thing, and disaster was averted only by the direct personal decision of the presidents (Truman in one case, LBJ in the other), who chose to assist Israel *against* the persuasions of powerful advisers.

I certainly do *hope* that you're right, and that the USA has warned Iran that there will be major consequences if they attack Israel.

And I should have said that I was not letting folks like Olmert 'off the hook', not at all; in fact, the most frustrating thing of all, right now, is to watch the dhimmi behaviour of Israel's current leadership.

To borrow a phrase from J K Rowlings, they're behaving like they've either been Confunded, or placed under the Imperius curse. It's well nigh unendurable to read the Jerusalem Post at the moment: rocket after rocket into Israel from Gaza, not to mention the ghastliness of the murders in the yeshiva, but like classic dhimmis Israel is muting their response.

What a brainstorm of an idea!

Apparently there was some kind of storm in "Dr. Ibrahim's " brain that triggered certain neural impulses to formulate what appears to be an "idea," which was then vomited out of his mouth in the guise of "lecture."

The only thing "shocking" here is the lack of originality -- not doubt the perpetrators of 911 had similar brain seizures.

Suggestion: don't negotiate or make deals with nut jobs with nukes.

dumbledoresarmy: Thank you for your reply. I kind of figured a rhetorical flair got the best of you in the post to which I responded. Hey, happens to me at times; most everyone I think. And yes, it is disconcerting to see how both America and Israel over the decades have so much wanted peace and just wanted to get on with living life that each nation has hoped against hope that the Islamic world will want to do the same. But it doesn't. The Islamic world is about self-pity, illusions of grandeur, conquest, refusal to compromise (real compromise, not Muslim truces) and domination of every aspect of life. It's so damn Orwellian and Allah is a spiritual Big Brother. So glad, so very glad I'm not a Muslim. I would feel sorry for the Muslim world if it wasn't such an active threat to the West. But it is.

Have profited from reading your posts (getting the Australian point of view and all that) and I know we're together in wanting Israel to be strong, Western Civilization resilient and Islam either brought into the modern world (which, with each passing year, I am less optimistic about since it seems stuck in terminal stupidity and hate mode) or consigned to the trash heap of history.
