Belgian authorities ought to see this as sedition, for Malika El Aroud would certainly want to see Sharia come to Belgium, and non-Muslims and women subjugated. And she is working for that end by agitating for jihad.

The only adornment is a pair of powder-blue slippers monogrammed in gold with the letters SEXY.

But it is on the Internet where Ms. El Aroud has distinguished herself. Writing in French under the name “Oum Obeyda,” she has transformed herself into one of the most prominent Internet jihadists in Europe.She calls herself a female holy warrior for Al Qaeda. She insists that she does not disseminate instructions on bomb-making and has no intention of taking up arms herself. Rather, she bullies Muslim men to go and fight and rallies women to join the cause.
“It’s not my role to set off bombs — that’s ridiculous,” she said in a rare interview. “I have a weapon. It’s to write. It’s to speak out. That’s my jihad. You can do many things with words. Writing is also a bomb.”
Ms. El Aroud has not only made a name for herself among devotees of radical forums where she broadcasts her message of hatred toward the West. She also is well known to intelligence officials throughout Europe as simply “Malika” — an Islamist who is at the forefront of the movement by women to take a larger role in the male-dominated global jihad....
“Vietnam is nothing compared to what awaits you on our lands,” she wrote to a supposed Western audience in March about wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. “Ask your mothers, your wives to order your coffins.” To her followers she added: “Victory is appearing on the horizon, my brothers and sisters. Let’s intensify our prayers.”
Her prolific writing and presence in chat rooms, coupled with her background, makes her a magnet for praise and sympathy. “Sister Oum Obeyda is virtuous among the virtuous; her life is dedicated to the good on this earth,” a man named Juba wrote late last year.

Ms. El Aroud reflects that trend. “Normally in Islam the men are stronger than the women, but I prove that it is important to fear God — and no one else,” she said. “It is important that I am a woman. There are men who don’t want to speak out because they are afraid of getting into trouble. Even when I get into trouble, I speak out.”
After all, she said, she knows the rules. “I write in a legal way,” she said. “I know what I’m doing. I’m Belgian. I know the system.”

In what meaningful way can Malika El Aroud, “Oum Obeyda,” possibly be considered to be *Belgian*? Or European, or Western, or anything other than a member of the Ummah, a slave of Allah?
Her presence in the West is incidental in every way, except that it gives her the tools to seek our destruction in such an "empowered", modern manner. Unbelievably, the NYT reporters seem quite approving and sympathetic.
Here is their weird "feminist" take on this phenomenon:

This is in reference to Muslimas wanting to join *Al-Qaeda*. Now that's equality!
For now, poor Ms. El Aroud will have to be content inciting men to violence. She is the widow of an Afghani jihadist who killed himself in an attack back in the old country on anti-Taliban forces.
Her new hubby is a partner in Jihad. They were both sucessfully convicted by a Swiss court for running a terrorist website. He served 23 days--23 days!--and she received a suspended sentence. That'll show them!
Lost in natterings about changing role of women and the empowering use of the internet, The NYT never fully spells out what she is doing--inciting murder of her "fellow Beligians" and advocating their slavery.

It may have been a rare interview but this woman talked too much. Six sentences were all it took to prove what Islam is all about. Proof that you don't have to strap on a bomb or seek inner strength to practice jihad. Proof that Islam is not all about waging war within yourself to become a better person. And it's from the mouth of a Muslim, not an infidel. No one can accuse any of us of "hate speech" if we ever point to this woman's words. They're her words, not ours.

It's hard to tell. According to the NYT article, she was born in Morocco, then raised in Belgium from a young age. Still, it wouldn't surprise me that much if she never learned to seak French properly.
Not only is on the dole in Belgium, but the Belgian government saved her sorry ass after she ran afoul of the wrong people in Afghanistan after her husband blew himself up murdering anti-Talibanists.
This is how she repays the good dhimmis who take care of her.
By the way, she claims that the Swiss--the Swiss!--beat and abused her (new) husband and herself when they were in custody. You can't believe all the stories about "torture" that jihadists tell.

This is a suggestion for Robert.
I yield to your vast knowledge of Islam but have you considered that the rules are those of an army. The reward for service is booty - goods, rape and sex-slaves, funded by a tax onthe subject people. The prayers are hardly spiritual and cannot compare,say with Christian prayers, but are rather a repetition of an oath of allegiance and submission to daily orders.
At a time when the survival rate of children could not have been more than one in four, polygamy was enforced to counter this and swell the numbers of fighting men -"women are your tilth". Sex outside marriage is forbidden because there might be no offspring, or because the children could not be turned into loyal soldiers. Women must be submissive and not be allowed to interfere with men's military duty; they must be convinced that death in battle is martyrdom and the path to a paradise that promises an eternity of f***ing - every soldier's dream.
And of course death for desertion, as meted out in many western armies on war service. Sharia laws are reminiscent of army regulations or a court-martial. And the fundamental aim, as it was of Genghiz Khan, Alexander and so on, is to conquer. When infidels enter an Islamic country they must be defeated and destroyed in battle or by any other means; and the aim is the reverse situation, which we have in Europe, where the percentage of Muslims far exceeds the percentage of non-Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan. What if the West acted in accordance with the Islamic principle and enslaved or destroyed these intruders? Why does no reporter put this to them in interviews?
What action would be taken in Iran if Christian convicts tried to take over a prison? The west must wake up to the fact that there is a fifth column throughout our world that is larger, more committed than any in WW2? Then intelligence forces had to deal with German, Italian and Japanese - how many local police are able to deal with Arabic or Farsi? Clearly there should be crash courses in these languages as there were in WW2 when thousands of bright young students were enlisted to learn the more unuusual enemy languages,such as Japanese.
