Obama's Gitmo Delegation

Here is a fantastic Investor's Business Daily editorial from June 5 (thanks to all who sent this in) about Obama delegate Yousef Yee, who was once a recurring character at this site.

Election 2008: It's fitting that an ex-Muslim chaplain who once insisted there weren't any terrorists at Gitmo is a delegate for Barack Obama, who's itching to shut down Gitmo.

James "Yousef" Yee, a former Army Muslim chaplain charged with espionage while serving at Gitmo, will represent Washington state for Obama at the Democratic National Convention, where he'll likely have a center-stage speaking role.

The two are a perfect match. Obama promises to not only close Gitmo, but "reform" the USA Patriot Act. He apparently plans to take those steps in between tea parties with state sponsors of terror.

Since the Pentagon in 2004 dropped charges against him, Yee has become a poster boy of the anti-war movement. He's cashed in on his ignominy with a book claiming he was the target of "sheer bigotry" and was silenced for exposing "systemic" abuse of prisoners at Gitmo.

One of his biggest boosters in Washington is Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the Muslim convert who insisted on taking the oath of office on the Quran. Ellison is an Obama superdelegate who's been doing advance work for Obama's planned tea parties in the Middle East.

Last month, he told an Egyptian weekly that Yee's "case was dropped because there was no case to begin with."

Nice try. Here are the facts:

1. Yee was caught returning to the U.S. with maps of Gitmo prison facilities, among other classified materials, and was arrested at a U.S. airport.

2. He was charged with espionage, mishandling classified documents and lying to investigators.

3. He served hard time in a South Carolina stockade.

4. Two of his Muslim cronies at Gitmo were convicted of stealing or mishandling classified documents.

5. Far from being exonerated, the military dropped charges against him to protect national security.

Guantanamo commander Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, who originally accused Yee of spying, explained that there were "national security concerns that would arise from the release of the evidence" if the case moved to trial.

There's no question that Yee, a captain who converted to Islam, was sympathetic to al-Qaida and Taliban captives at Gitmo.

At times, in fact, he acted more like a defense attorney for the terrorists. He complained that guards subjected them to cruel "abuse" and "psychological torture."

Waterboarding? Electric shock? No, they committed the sadistic act of mishandling copies of the Quran that Yee had made sure each inmate received.

He also saw to it that each copy of the Quran came with a surgical mask to cradle the Muslim holy book above ground to keep it safe and clean.

In addition, Yee convinced his superiors to provide the Muslim prisoners with prayer beads, prayer oils, prayer caps and up to half a dozen books on Islam from the library, which he stocked with some $26,000 worth of Arabic and English titles.

Thanks to him, the terrorists have been able to brush up on their jihad as they await repatriation to Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Pakistan.

But not to worry, Yee says, he didn't see any terrorists there. "It's safe to say there weren't any prisoners who could be definitely connected to hard-core terrorism," he recently told BBC Radio....

Could this be more evidence of the 'stealth jihad'
project, as per your front page article, Robert?

Speaking of which, I see that Mr Sina's faithfreedom site appears to be down again. Does anyone know if this is a temporary problem, or maybe yet more stealth jihad?

Hugh stated yesterday that Obama is not a muslim. Well, that may be so, but if he's not actually a muslim, he must be their greatest friend, supporter, and hope for the world wide establishment of the ummah.

"Systemic" abuse of prisoners in Gitmo, hey? That's rich, coming from the follower of a cult which tortures and mistreats prisoners as a rule. Especially infidel prisoners.

"It's safe to say there weren't any prisoners who could be definitely connected to hard-core terrorism,"

How many of the detainees are non-Afghan Moslems, caught fighting tooth and nail against US forces during the overthrow of the Taliban regime in 2001?

He also saw to it that each copy of the Quran came with a surgical mask to cradle the Muslim holy book above ground to keep it safe and clean.

I wonder what abuses the these Qurans endure from the time the paper is manufactured, the glue (probably animal, maybe pig) is applied to bindings,
stacked up and thrown around like cordwood before shipping, and a bumpy ride before delivery. Any way the whole issue of the purity of this book is non sense. The last place this nonsense should be going on, is in infidel prisons, especially military ones. What ever happened to the 'John Wayne' two fisted, true grit, military attitude? The soldiers on the ground seem to have it, but the brass and the politicians that run them, have morphed into Peewee Herman, or better yet, 'Earnest'( Actor Jim Varney, who is no longer with us). 'Earnest saves Islam'...then converts...'...A comedy...
Comedy has no place in a military prison...

"It's safe to say there weren't any prisoners who could be definitely connected to hard-core terrorism"
--- James "Yousef" Yee, Muslim chaplain at Guantanamo charged with espionage, who will be delegate for Barack Obama at the Democratic convention

Perhaps James Yee doesn't read the papers, or lives on another planet. But what is the excuse of the Barack-Obama people who have permitted this outrage?

Note, in the story, the last three paragraphs, that mention that at least ten people released from detention in Guantanamo have already been killed while fighting with the Taliban or other terrorist groups. Note the mention of Abdullah Mahsud [Mehsud], killed in Waziristan, of the same tribe as Beitullah Mehsud, the new head of the Taliban.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A Kuwaiti man released from U.S. custody at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in 2005 blew himself up in a suicide attack in Iraq last month, Pentagon officials said Wednesday.
Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi was one of two Kuwaitis who took part in a suicide attack in Mosul on April 26, the officials said. Records show that an attack in Mosul that day targeted an Iraqi police patrol and left six people dead, including two police officers.

An announcement on a jihadist Web site earlier this month declared that al-Ajmi was one of the "heroes" who carried out the Mosul operation. A second man from Kuwait also took part in the suicide attack, the Web site said.
Pentagon officials who had been keeping track of al-Ajmi said they were aware he had left Kuwait for Syria, a launching ground for terrorists into Iraq.

A video posted on various jihadist Web sites shows a number of images of al-Ajmi, followed by text reading, "May God have mercy on you Abdullah al-Ajmi. I send you a warm greeting O you martyr, O you hero, O you, a man in a time where only few men are left."

U.S. military records of Guantanamo detainees indicate that a man with the same name and nationality was held at the Cuban prison.
Those records said al-Ajmi, 29, was picked up in Afghanistan as he tried to enter Pakistan after the 2001 U.S. invasion. He claimed to have fought for the Taliban, the records show, and said he fought in a number of battles against the Northern Alliance.

Though he was never charged with any crime, al-Ajmi was held at Guantanamo through 2005. Military documents show he later claimed that his statements about fighting for the Taliban were made after he was threatened while in U.S. custody. He asserted that he was in Afghanistan to study the Quran.

Al-Ajmi was transferred to the custody of Kuwaiti authorities in November 2005, with four other Kuwaitis, and was released after a trial there, according to Pentagon officials.

Al-Ajmi is not the first former Guantanamo detainee to reportedly return to the battlefield after being released. Pentagon officials say there are more than 10 people once held by the U.S. at Guantanamo who have been killed or captured in fighting after being released from the detention facility.

"Our reports indicate that a number of former [Guantanamo Bay] detainees have taken part in anti-coalition militant activities after leaving U.S. detention. Some have subsequently been killed in combat," said Cmdr. Jeff Gordon, a Pentagon spokesman.

Documents provided by the Pentagon show other former detainees returning to the battlefield, including Abdullah Mahsud, who was released from Guantanamo in 2004. He returned to Afghanistan, where he became a militant leader in the Mahsud tribe in southern Waziristan, the documents said."

Hey People - Get this:

On ABC's "20/20" tonight, Reporter Brian Ross will be presenting a story on a self-proclaimed, polygamist, "Prophet" who is the head of a Cult with many fawning and robot-like Followers!

No, it's not about Islam.

It's about a Christian Cult, of course, called House of Yahweh, in Abilene, Texas.

I sent Mr. Ross an e-mail on the "20/20" site comparing everything he said about this stupid Christian Cult and it's idiot, false "Prophet," to the Cult of Islam and Mohammed.

Posted by: darcy [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2008 9:28 AM

Excuse me, it's a mix of Christianity and Judaism. And the world's going to end next week on June 12 through nuclear holocaust.

How come this obvious dimbulb rates a "20/20" slot, but the murderous Cult of Islam with it's self-proclaimed, polygamist "Prophet" doesn't?

Obama...There are two sides to Dhimmihood...Those dhimmi's who are closer to dar al- harb, and those dhimmi's who are closer to dar al-Islam. Islamic apologist's, and kufr defenders, and protectors of Islam, are on the dar al-Islam side, while dhimmi's persecuted or mis-treated, in other parts of the world are still in, or are closer too dar al-harb.
Those on the left of dhimmitude (Allah's side) are likely to get better treatment from muslims than those on the right, harb, (Satan's side).

Barack may not be a muslim, but his place on the scale is way left of center. For a dhimmi to be close to Dar al-Islam, to the left of center, is the prime jumping off place to Shahada.
The left of center dhimmi has already given Islam the authority of credibility. 'The religion of peace'...Shahada is just around the corner for people who believe that, Obama included.
Since he may be the next prez, Obama especially...

I think you are all over-reacting. This is the Obama who unequivocally declared his support for an undivided Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Oh.... wait that was Wednesday, rescinded Thursday. Change you know...

While the fools in the Dem party are jumping up and down in crying how they defeated racism, the reality is that the content of character in their candidate is severely wanting.

Obama is a say anything, do anything, to get elected empty suit, who would make Jimmy Catta look bearable. He is your worst nightmare of a US administration. Defence ? What Defemce? Foreign affairs ? Come back Leonid.Every socialist accomodator and entitlement and affirmative action idiot and seat occupier - what a barnyard !

Backyard jihad.

What a joke.

Darcy,

Every time I become embarrassed about being a Floridian (hanging chads, Islamist college profs, Muslimah converts wanting to wear niqab in driver's license photos, etc.), I repeat the following mantram:

There's always Texas...There's always Texas...

Maybe it's got something to do with the Gulf of Mexico, only I don't hear about as many nutcases, Christian or otherwise, in Louisiana, Georgia, or Alabama.

OK; Obama's not a muslim. However, part of his childhood was in a muslim environment. His father and stepfather were muslims. He went to a muslim school for a time.

Is it safe--in the absence of any statements from Obama himself--to assume he will be tolerant of muslims in his immediate vicinity? Most likely he will.

Is it safe to assume he feels comfortable with the basic principles of Islam? Possibly.

Will he be adding muslims to his staff? His cabinet?

-from the article

How can this be the case? Aren't national security concerns the reason we have those military tribunals? A member of the military who is charged with espionage doesn't fall under the purview of a military court? What's wrong with this picture?

The Army is a house divided, as is logical when you have an institution recruiting from a pool that includes jihadist immigrants and politically correct bureaucratic generals. On one hand, the PR side of the Army hires CAIR, Wahabbi chaplains, and trains Soldiers in Arabic at the Saudi Islamic Academy. On the other hand, when it advises employees of terror threats on their way to work, it says CAIR and the Muslim Students Association are terrorists front groups:

None of those Southern states have Dearbornistan, Abscedere. And they are not the state called "Minnesotastan." If you ask me, Michigan and Minnesota, 2 Northern states, have the most "nutcases." It must be something about Lakes. Lake Superior and the "Land of Lakes."

Posted by: darcy [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2008 5:53 PM

Of course Yee was a spy for the "ummah", and by definition as a Muslim he is anti-democratic and believes women are less intelligent than a man. Oddly, as a Muslim of Chinese background, he also believes Arabs are superior to him, since Mohammad said Arabs are the "best of peoples."
Surely Yee believes himself intelligent and understands his religion? If he does not believe the above doctrinaire Islam, then he would be admitting to be an idiot. Not that it is uncommon for people to practice religions they don't understand. Only as a Muslim, it means you are complicit in advocating murder of people who don't agree with you.

Nossir, he avows: NOT ANY! NONE! NO TERRORISTS!
("... uh, we in the Ummah call them FREEDOM FIGHTERS or HOLY WARRIORS or SLAYERS OF INFIDELS")

Or maybe Mr. Yee thinks these guys were merely INDIRECTLY connected, and besides that, only with SOFT-CORE terrorism...?
