By which they mean, of course, not simply irrational prejudice against Muslims, but any honest examination of the elements of Islam that jihadists use to justify violence against non-Muslims and Islamic supremacism. We have seen this again and again.
"Obama aides grilled in Dearborn: In talk with Chaldeans, Arab-Americans assertion made that candidate has ignored Islamophobia," by Gregg Krupa for The Detroit News, June 12 (thanks to Paul):
[...] The three Obama aides who attended the meeting also were challenged about the perception that he fails to denounce Islamophobia, even when he points out publicly that he has been targeted by prejudiced Internet bloggers, in particular, who continue to assert that he is Muslim."We are waiting for him to decry this Islamophobia as anti-American, just as anti-Semitism is anti-American," said Dawud Walid, of the Council on American Islamic Relations. "To simply say that he is a Christian and not to criticize Islamophobia is akin to passively supporting Islamophobia. He has to address publicly the roots of these concerns."...

Don't hold your breath, Mr. Krupa. Obama probably doesn't know what so-called Islamophobia is.

OBAMA: Not about Islamophobia particularly, but interesting just the same.

"...not to criticize Islamophobia is akin to passively supporting Islamophobia."
In other words, all those who are not willing to make a declaration of subservience, of submission to Islam will be considered "Islamophobes", which is to say "enemies of Islam". The dhimmis shall feel themselves chastened and subdued.
By the same logic, not to criticise Islamic terrorism is akin to passively supporting Islamic terrorism.

"He has to address publicly the roots of these concerns."...
CAIR better hope Obama doesn't address the roots of these concerns. That's the last thing they really want. That would be change we could believe in.
But no need to be concerned. If there's votes in Dearborn, you can be certain Obama will mouth anything CAIR wants.

He has to address publicly the roots of these concerns.
I just wish he would. Address publicly the roots of why Americans don't trust Muslims and why that trust is a VALID ONE. Then present Muslims with examples of their behavior toward Christians and Jews and dare them to justify it. He will prove that Islamophobia doesn't exist. Why? Because none of these concerns are irrational.
at June 12, 2008 11:04 AM
Obama will put out some pithy statement about the "good that Islam has done" and how nobody should be persecuted for their beliefs. It will satisfy CAIR and those Islamists who believe the Obama empathizes with them (if they don't beleive he is actually one of them), but be vague enough to prevent questions about what it really means to stick. Those who know the real evil that Jihadists represent will be left with nothing from the man.

“I swear by Allah that war is deception,”... “We are fighting our enemy with a kind heart ... Deceive, camouflage, pretend that you’re leaving while you’re walking that way. Deceive your enemy ...”
"Politics Is A Completion Of War"
-The Philadelphia Meeting-
Omar Ahmad was captured on FBI surveillance tapes at Hamas meetings in the United States
during 1993 explaining that the IAP could not, for political reasons, admit its support for
Hamas, and then discussing how the Hamas agenda could be cloaked and advanced.
"Those who stay in America should be open to society without melting, keeping Mosques open so anyone can come and learn about Islam. If you choose to live here, you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam ... Islam isn't in America to
be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book
of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only
accepted religion on Earth."

"They kill themselves for Islam."

Most of us will recall bullies from school days. One of the typical bully tactics is to first intimidate the victim publicly, and then when the intended effect is evident, further the humiliation by exclaiming "WHAT, are you SCARED?"
This is the meaning of the accusation "Islamophobia".

Phobia means "fear" not hate or prejudice. Are there valid reasons for unbelievers to fear Islam? I know what I think.

Islamophobia is the height of common sense.
It is the only instance where an "irrational" fear is simultaneously the height of common sense.
There are two things you can do with Islamophobia.
1 Cower down and give in to it and live a life of dhimmitude - as Western politicians demand of us.
2 Channel it to stop all Muslim immigration into your country, accept the obvious that there are no "moderate" Muslims and kick 'em out to an Islamic country whenever they disrupt your society or make demands upon you.
The latter is the height of common sense.

Obama received 90% of the Muslim vote in PA and still lost to Hillary by double digits. Obama is a politician first and foremost and does not want to be seen as too close to Muslims until he gets elected. That's why he has met with Jewish and Christian evangelical leaders and not with Muslims. Obama knows he can receive 90% of the Muslim vote (like Kerry) and still lose.If CAIR pushes for a condemnation of so-call "Islamophobia" Obama will get a surrogate to denounce it in some low profile venue.

Those root-causes, they must be addressed.
But those root causes may have something to do with 1400 years of jihad-terror and genocide against unbelievers. These Islamo-agent provocateurs may not like the 'backlash'
I can't wait till it all comes out in the open!

Dawud Walid is quoted as saying, "We are waiting for him (Obama) to decry this Islamophobia as anti-American, just as anti-Semitism is anti-American." Oh, this is rich. Anti-Semitism is indeed not in keeping with America at its best, but it certainly is found in Islam all over the place, beginning with Mohammed and the Koran and going on from there. No shame here. Must be more taqqiya.

The burden of proof is on Muslims to show that "Islamophobia" is not "normal".
It is certainly normative. Every society ever beset with Islam has rightly feared it. The women within Islam certainly fear it. Regional minority sects within Islam fear it. Right now, as CAIR launches its "Stamp Out Islamophobia" (read: special rights) campaign, they themselves fear it raising its ugly head and grabbing away the headlines.
It is only the fifth column subversives and the electoral whores who pretend they don't fear it.

There's the "Islam" as described by Muslims and then there's the "Islam" we in the West and elsewhere know only too well: suicide attacks, car bombs, murder on non-Muslims, honor killings, etc. And we are the ones who are to explain ourselves and our justified opposition to Islam? When CAIR et al refuse to even acknowledge the violence committed in the name of Muhammad?
But I'm sure Obama will issue some statement that this isn't the Islam he knew when living in Indonesia....

OT: Looks like the Club Gitmo members now have the same rights as citizens, thanks to the yeoman work of Justices Kennedy, Ginsberg, Souter, Breyer and Stephens.
And once our great juries find them not guilty, we can release them - not in Afghanistan or Iraq where we re-engage with them, but on our streets. There, they can behead our men, rape our women, enslave our sons and marry our daughters.
Note that this is a move supported by both McCain and Obama.

I don't understand the reference to Chaldeans. I thought Chaldeans were Christians rooted in the Middle East. Are these victims of Islam trying to deny the victimization practiced by Islam?

We all know that Obama is going to pull a super kumbaya over the so called war on terror and have us all weep for the poor oppressed Muslims here who have to endure hard stares and background checks. Yet, when he said he would go across the Pakistani border to root out Talibaners, his critics went ballistic.

The guy has been going to the same church for twenty years - I mean either we are going to have Islamic laws that state that no one can leave Islam - ever - and that would make all the Spanish - Muslims – as well as Arabs - or we can accept that we live in a free democracy and people can worship as they choose.
He has already talked about the culture of hatred - in the Middle East -
These Muslims in the US are trying to score political points - for the wounds that they created - their aim is to first get Islam respected - then get it accepted (by all) - but without the repression of the Islamic state - that they would usually have on their side - they should find this a rocky road - in the western hemisphere.
Like Rev. Wright - he should dissociate himself like the plague - yet I still believe that he has more respect for the good but eccentric Rev. than he does for any of these Islamic factions - calling for him to acknowledge - their stick in the mud - Islamophobia.
Obama's sister for example is a Buddhist. If his saying that he is not a Muslim is offensive - to some - then that's unfortunate.
