A case study in why Somalia is a mess, and has been for years. "Somali Islamists snatch Danish, Swedish aid workers: UN," from Agence France-Presse:
MOGADISHU (AFP) - Islamist militants kidnapped a Dane and a Swede working for the United Nations and a Somali aid worker when the fighters seized control of a town Saturday, several sources told AFP.
Local residents and aid workers said the insurgents attacked the town of Hodur, 370 kilometres (235 miles) west of the Somali capital Mogadishu, around 4:30 am (0130 GMT) but then withdrew.
"The two UN mine action workers were taken from the IMC (International Medical Corps) compound. We don't know their whereabouts and they were taken after Islamists took control of the town," a UN official told AFP.
First reports said the two foreigners abducted were Swedes, but it later emerged that one was Danish and the other Swedish.
"According to our sources on the ground, they are a Dane and a Swede working for our organisation, carrying out a demining training assignment on behalf of the United Nations," said Aake Svensson, a spokesman for the Raddningsverket, the Swedish government's risk assessment and emergency management agency.
A UN security official in Nairobi said: "Local authorities in the zone are negotiating with the kidnappers and calling for their immediate and unconditional release. [...]
The latest abductions take the number of humanitarian workers kidnapped recently in this Horn of Africa country to nine: two Swedes, two Italians, one British national, one Kenyan and three Somalis.

Ahhh...The tell tale signs of the religion of peace. I mean it disgusts me to the core. Kidnappings, violent protests, lies and deception, blaming the west and other non Muslims for their screwed religion. A bunch of cowards who cannot take responsibility of their hateful ideology that is Islam.

The people kidnapped were there to teach Somalis how to remove land mines.
The jihadis don't want that sort of thing taught? Fine.
No more aid.
Individuals or groups - such as church groups - who insist on going to work in Muslim lands, should sign an official disclaimer and ethical will, instructing their governments and families, in the strongest possible terms, NOT to pay ransom or give in to any other Muslim demand or threat, in the event of their being kidnapped. Go in, if you want to, if you really think Jesus wants you there...but make it plain to those at home that they must steel themselves to let you die, rather than let you be used as a bargaining chip by jihadi mobsters.
I have a further suggestion: one Danish, and one Swedish, mosque, chosen for known association with captured wannabe jihadis, or for known incendiary hate-speech against kafir, or perhaps selected entirely at random, lottery style, get shut down, and bulldozed flat, and their imams get deported on a one-way ticket out.
One Dane and one Swede have been kidnapped - fine, one mosque in Denmark and one in Sweden get shut down, permanently. The Muslim colony gets a little smaller.
If any more Danes or Swedes are kidnapped by Muslims, anywhere: same deal. If, in retaliation, Muslims attack churches within the Islamosphere; fine, MORE mosques in Denmark and Sweden get shut down, and imams deported.
If kidnappings continue, such that the Danes and Swedes run out of imams and mosques, then non-citizen Muslims get booted out in batches every time there's a Muslim attack on Danish and Swedish interests or Danish and Swedish non-Muslim citizens, anywhere in the world.
The article noted that there have been jihadi kidnappings, in Somalia, of Italians, Britons and Kenyans. The Italians, the British and the Kenyans, if they had sufficient resolve, could ALSO think about responding to jihadi kidnappings, by zeroing in on mosques within their own borders.
Kidnap a kafir; oops, there went a mosque in the USA, UK, France, Germany, and another imam is sent packing.

dumbledoresarmy...Yea in a sane universe those kinds of responses would be implemented. But we can't punish muslim scum for the deeds of other muslim scum, now can we? We are led by idiots. Ultimately muslims will commit an act so horrible that the people of the west will rise up in spite of our so called leaders and drive them out themselves.

Now it's up to the U.N. to tell these Jihadists that they are acting contrary to the Islamic faith, and, therefore, should let the aid workers go.

There should be no foreign aid workers in Somalia. Let them all leave and the people to fend for themselves.
It is time to stop the global welfare. If there are starving people and they live in Muslim lands, let the Saudis or Kuwaitis or Dubai or any other Muslim nation feed them.
