Iran digs thousands of graves for its enemies

But who will lie in them?

"Iran digs thousands of graves ready for enemies," from Agence France-Presse, June 30 (thanks to all who sent this in):

IRAN is to dig 320,000 graves in border districts to allow for the burial of enemy soldiers in the event of any attack on its territory, a top commander said today. "In implementation of the Geneva Conventions ... the necessary measures are being taken to provide for the burial of enemy soldiers,'' the Mehr news agency quoted General Mir-Faisal Bagherzadeh as saying.

"We have plans to dig 15,000 to 20,000 graves in each of the border provinces or a total of 320,000,'' the general said, adding that some of them would be mass graves if necessary.

Mr Bagherzadeh said Iran was keen to "reduce the suffering of the families of the fallen in any attack against our country ... and prevent any repetition of the long and bitter experience of the Vietnam War''....

If this is the best they can do then we have nothing to worry about, not least because no one with any brains would bother entering Iran. Its people aren't worth it. They value Islam. It's theirs. They'll support the mullahs over anyone from the outside. So let's stop listening to their whining about being "oppressed".
Iranians: you made your own bed. Be courageous enough to lie in it.

The Vietnam war? How about the Iran-Iraq war?

Disgusting propaganda. Are they just desparate to provide their men jobs in their god-awful economy?
It reminds me of the bravado of Hussein during the two wars...I'm invincible! All shall fall before me!
Yawn.

Islam is about death. First, kill the mind, then kill the human spirit, then kill others for Allah. Kill kill kill. Even funerals are opportunities to slaughter enemies.

Digging graves and building coffins are the only natural industries of an Islamic culture. First, create Hell on Earth--then dream of death.

"In implementation of the Geneva Conventions ... the necessary measures are being taken to provide for the burial of enemy soldiers''
...................................

My God, these people have a lot of gall. You do have to give them points for their rhetoric, though--they push all the buttons of the "Great Satan" here. See, this isn't a particularly ghoulish threat--it's a bit of humanitarianism--in line with the Geneva Conventions.

You know, the Geneva Conventions, which the Great Satan is constantly vioiating, with Abu Ghraib, and Guantanamo, which everyone knows are the greatest horrors of our time. And, of course, the "suspension of habeas corpus", always the backbone of Shari'ah law. sarc/off

from above:

Mr Bagherzadeh said Iran was keen to "reduce the suffering of the families of the fallen in any attack against our country ... and prevent any repetition of the long and bitter experience of the Vietnam War''....
..........................

More button pushing--I'm surprised they weren't able to work in the term "quagmire". And see--they care about the families of American troops! Unlike, you know, George Bush . . .

Reminds me of Shelley's "Ozymandias": "Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Yeah, right. Nothing beside remains, Ozy. And Ahmadinejad - one day you'll find Iran to be that same "colossal wreck." Good Luck with that, colossal Jerk.

There's a whole lot of digging going on...
Grave digging in Iran...Grave digging is not a popular form of employment in the Iran, but someone has to do it...It's good to see the Iranians doing something constructive. I don't know exactly who is digging the graves, by hand or dozer (gas?), but it keeps them off the streets and out of trouble, Allah willing, and he always is...
Grave digging, robbing, and graves in general are the favorite subjects of Hollywood. Not so much because of what go's into a grave, but what might come out of it. These trenches could also be used to shield troops...I think Saddam tried that, and it did not work out to well for him. It won't work out for the Iranians either, but at least it gives someone something to do...

This is very worrying.

At the moment there is a lot of persecution of Christian converts and Bahais going on in Iran as the regime tries to take the focus off its own incompetence.

I just hope that this is not a preparation for a Rwanda style massacre of the religious minorities in the country, with a suitable cover story to make sure they do not escape.

Cart before the horse?

Count your chickens before they hatch?

1 Corinthians 15:54-57 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The grave and death is their only weapon. This weapon has been nullified by a resurrected Lord.

Dig your graves for yourselves?

Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment.

There seems to be something about the Islamic world which lends itself to deceptive bombast and bragging. Nasser claimed in the early hours of the Six-Day War that the Israelis were being crushed on all fronts, Saddam Hussein made absurd statements about victory (remember Baghdad Bob) as he was having his butt kicked in 1991 and again in 2003. Now this piece of Iranian braggadocio. I suppose, though, no one should be surprised since being Muslim makes it much more likely that one lives in a fantasy world across the board.

When it comes to psy-ops, nothing seems to bizarre for the Iranian government. I often wonder if the Iranian people realize that for them there is nothing to be gained with all of this.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare to get the bodies to the graves. How did they decide where to locate the graves? How do they know the bodies will be lying near the graves? Is this some kind of Persian Maginot Line? Is this from an unpublished Orwell book?

Posted by: Bingo [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 1:59 PM

@Kim Hartveld

Sorry for the double posts. JW is so slow sometimes. I found it important to quot Bible scripture to counter Islam.

I know that Muslims read the forum. I am translating the scripture into Arabic for those English challenged. You never know what effect reading the source of life will have on a person.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.

PS I have not figured out how to right justify the text however?

I am sure that these graves will be used for peaceful purposes, just like the Iranian nuke program.

You hit the nail on the head my friend. These savages have no concept of the power that opposes them. Don't forget that even the French Prez is in on this one. We won't be alone. If those assholes try to stop the flow of oil, that will be the last straw for the West. Particularly at this time.

The barking dogs of Iran will be silenced permanently.

Their main battle forces will be annihilated within days at most. Then...nothing but child suicide bombers. Scum of the Earth to send children to die.

More chlorine for the gene pool.

From further in the article:
A former head of Israel's Mossad foreign intelligence agency said in comments published today the Jewish state had one year to destroy Iran's nuclear program or face the risk of coming under nuclear attack.
Shabtai Shavit told a London weekly the "worst-case scenario'' was that Tehran would have a nuclear weapon within "somewhere around a year''.

If the Iranians are acting a little crazy it's because they know it's coming. They will not stop their nuclear efforts and so it's not if but when. I trust it will be Israel who attacks. Iran has already threatened the Strait of Hormuz if attacked, but will they have the resources? - you can bet they will be dealing with the U.S. in the Strait. I just hope that Israel has the best bunker busting bombs available and some damn good intelligence regarding Iran's underground nuclear facilities. If BHO is elected in November, look for Israel to pounce while Bush is still in office. It will be our Christmas present from Israel.

And in Iran they're digging graves.

If you are asking how do make a link to a previous post? I don't know.

I copy/paste (crtl-c/ctrl-v) and html with italics {i} or {blockquote} the pasted quot to make it look different from my hen scratching 8^). BTW replace the brackets '{' with greater than/less than signs.

On you browser under one of the pulldowns is something 'Show Source' or 'Source' this will show the html of the page you are looking at. Note the html code in front and back of each item or statement. I realize this is not a complete course in html but that is how I do it.

Posted by: Im.mad.as.HELL! [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 2:32 PM

Good that they are digging graves. The way the Iranians fight, they first send little boys to fight, then their men. They are going to need thousands of graves for their boys and men. They have NEVER fought a well-trained, well-equipped military. They fought Iraq. What do you think will happen when they come against a REAL military. A military who is well armed, well trained with competent soldiers and officers? They'll be slaughtered.

So Iran. Dig your graves. They are for your men not ours.

Posted by: Mystical Time Traveler [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 2:58 PM

We've grow accustomed to the 'boots on the ground' situation in Iraq. That's now a police action. I think a conflict in Iran will start, and maybe end, with airstrikes. There's no effort at liberation or conquest here. The objective is to destroy infrastructure. Just look at the nature of Israel's recent military exercise.

The only reason to put down infantry would be if the airstrikes could not take out Iran's nuclear facilities.

Posted by: Richard [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 3:15 PM

Iran has already threatened the Strait of Hormuz if attacked, but will they have the resources?

Richard,

Isn't that like threatening to lock yourself in jail? If that's what they want to do then, in the words of a famous American, go head! Make my day!
The price of oil may double as a result but Iran wouldn't be able to benefit since it would have destroyed its own infrastructure.
I've heard others say that threatening the Strait of Hormuz was what the US should have done in 1979 on the day our hostages were taken.
There may be pipelines but does Iran have enough of them to eliminate the need to get its oil through Hormuz?

For a long time now I've been saying that Islam is worse than Nazism.

Ladywolfnl -

I presume you're referring to the latest piece of 'nonsense and lies' (as Hugh would call it?), or, Muslim Paranoid Conspiracy Theory 1001? I read it in the Jerusalem Post this morning.

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1214726166105&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Headlined: 'Ahmadinejad was target of X-ray plot' (JPost - you omitted the five exclamation marks - shame on you).

First paragraph reads:
"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was the target of an 'X-ray plot' when he attended a UN-sponsored global food summit in Rome earlier this month, Iran's former ambassador to Italy, Abolfazl Zohrevand, claimed Monday."

Follow the link, read the rest, if you dare, but make sure you don't have a mouthful of coffee while you're doing it, or your keyboard may suffer.

One of the commenters in the Jerusalem Post talkback gave way to natural impulses and started offering advice about tinfoil hats.

As for me, it conjures up an irresistible vision of Ahmadinejad solemnly donning lead underpants...

Like many statements emanating from Iran, this little bit of chest pumping is meant for internal consumption, not for Israel or the US. Even the Mayor of Munchkin Land, idiot though he is, knows better than to think he can get us shaking in our boots with a little Baghdad Bob rant.

Ach-Mahdi-nijad and the ayatollahs know full well they're preparing a holocaust in their own back yard. They welcome it. They want it. The sacred well will bring forth the imam Mahdi, the great savior, when he is most needed.

Thus they seek nothing less than World War III. Nukes are simply a contingency plan: if we won't start WWIII, then they will. The Mahdi will save them.

The message they're sending to their own people is this: "Get ready. Prepare, and immerse yourselves in the pure teaching of the ayatollahs. World War III and your salvation are imminently at hand."

And about the war, at least, they're no doubt correct.

Posted by: Haid Dasalami [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 7:47 PM

This truly bizarre - these people must be completely insane. Of course, what they're doing is simply whipping their population into a propaganda frenzy. Digging mass graves now will not make a whit's difference to whatever planning may be underway for any military operations in Iran. And, as mentioned above, whatever occupants there might eventually be in these mass graves would most likely be Iranians. Maybe it's good they're digging them in advance while they still have the manpower to do it.

dumbledoresarmy- JPost must have copied the article from the AFP post linked to by Ladywolfnl. The latter correctly specified the units of radiation as millirems, whereas in the JPost article it is incorrectly given as milligrams.

Either way, it sounds like the guy in charge of the x-ray machine is in trouble.

Coalition forces are on both sides of Iran because people back in 2002 planned it to be this way. Luck or happenstance didn't set the game board to be this way at this point in time.

The Pentagon crowd will never forget who did what when, and I'm sure from the beginning there've been crosshairs on the mullahs of Iran. Not Pervez or the Saudi's or Mubarak are having all this attention put upon them ...

Islamists are a different type of foe and a challenge for ..., whomever pulls strings in Washington. I can see how the chess pieces are being moved through the years: those mullahs are going to take a trip into exile, or to the hospital.

Somehow, the Islamic republic seems to have overlooked the possibility of being bombed from above, and enemy soldiers dying over Natanz, or Isfahan. They ought to dig graves all over their country, not just in borders.

It'll turn out to be useful for domestic consumption only.

Posted by: Infidel Pride [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 30, 2008 10:28 PM

I dunno. It seems that Iran asks too much of us. In the Nam, we buried our enemies in mass graves with bulldozers ... or, we just burned them in large heaps.

But only if we had the time or inclination. Mostly, we didn't (have the inclination). We just left the enemy rotting in the field.

This infidel will bury no muslims. Life is too short to waste on those who are not appreciative. Besides, how does a dead muslim show appreciation, anyway? Who cares?

This might be the craziest crap yet to come out of Iran! Surely they don't expect the infantry to come marching across their borders only to be immediately wiped out by the Revolutionary Guard hiding in the bushes!

The glorious and "equivalent" culture of islamic Iran is desperately needed to enhance diversity here in the USA. I think we need a hundred thousand Iranian asylum seekers ASAP and they should all be set up nicely in a single location, like maybe San Francisco. I'm sure the social engineers are absolutely, 100% on target when they say that we all want the same things and all people are basically the same. Our commonalities are endless and the highly educated, innately brilliant Iranians would be fine candidates for employment in our top secret military facilities.
We need more muslim immigrants; they contribute so much to our society that I can't imagine how we survived without them for almost two hundred years!
