We have seen accounts of this many times in the past, of course. The Internet makes it possible for jihadists to reach into communities of cultural Muslims where the jihad ideology has not been emphasized for centuries, and to call those Muslims back to what they represent as the purity of Islam. "Jihad Detainees Reveal Mass Recruitment Via Internet," from The Media Line, July 2 (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
Confessions of several detainees in Saudi Arabia are providing an indication of the extant Jihadi websites are impacting on potential Al-Qa’ida recruits.Detained terror suspects explained in televised interviews broadcast on Saudi television on Tuesday how Al-Qa’ida was using the Internet as a tool to recruit new members and propagate radical ideology.
Detainees said they were inspired by Jihadi films and statements by Al-Qa’ida chief Osama Bin Laden and other leading Jihad figures, which were posted on the Internet.
The interviewees included the Egyptian Abu ‘Azzam Al-An’sari, who is editor of the online ‘Sada Al-Jihad (Jihad Echo) magazine, and Um Usama, editor of the Al-Khansa magazine.
Those interviewed said the Internet was their preferred means of recruiting people and propagating their ideas, because it provided relative security, especially since none of the participants in the forums know each others’ identities.
Detained Al-Qa’ida suspects have admitted to joining the organization after following news of the fighters in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The televised reports said these radical websites promised their readers they would reach paradise if they participated in holy war, propaganda and training. The websites base their legitimacy on fatwas or religious decrees of well-known religious figures in order to persuade youngsters to join their ranks....

Is this really news? Do they think we are unaware of the internet usage, the chat rooms, all the devices used to communicate between murderers? Are we supposed to be surprised?
Whether it's a website or an imam personally promising paradise in return for blowing yourself up, what's the difference?

It is disgusting to witness the myriad ways Muslims use our gifts of technology, the fruits of our industry, and the freedoms our ancestors fought and died for to wage their war of anihilation against us. If it were'nt for our computers, our cell phones, our Internet, the greasy filth wouldn't be blownling us up with their camel dung. Take it back a sttp, and if it weren't for our aid with medicine our innovations in the rudiments of hygiene, they couldn't boast the necessary Muslims to wage Jihad. Most of them would die in their fly encrusted desiccated bungholes of origin without a peep. So even worse than being wasted on their monstrocity, lavishing rights, privileges, and technological benefits on this vermin results in the wholesale slaughter of our side, and the explosive expansion of theirs. It should stop.

jsla - you are right.
My opinion is that the world would be better off without the Internet. For many, many, reasons. One of the many, many, reasons is so the Islamic Barbarians couldn't use our technology against us.
The irony is that Infidels invented computers, cell phones, Internet - and the Islamic Barbarians are using those inventions, along with stupid political correctness, to conquer us.
Oh, the irony.

Better off without the internet? I don't think so, Darcy.
The same Information Age technologies that have served to assist Islamic resurgence are simultaneously Islam's worst nightmare. For over thirteen centuries any criticism of Islam, its scriptures, or Mohammed has been brutally and immediately silenced by force. Now all the incensed Muslims in the world can't stop the truth from getting out.
More important, until now it has been virtually impossible to reach those who most need to hear the truth--that is, Muslims themselves. Now any teenager armed with a little knowledge and a cell phone can hit the Islamists where it hurts, and they have no defense. This is the unprecedented opportunity Ali Sina continually invokes. It's why Geert Wilders has announced another film. It's why Robert maintains this blog--to get the word out to those who otherwise may never hear it.
Most of us would still be stupid without it.

The Muslim world would have never invented the Internet, but, quite typically, it can malevolently misuse it, as it has so much else that the Western world has invented and produced over the past half millennium while the Muslim world has rotted. Best example here: Muslims would have never produced flight, but they used this Western invention to murder some three thousand innocent human beings on 9/11.
I dare any Muslim who reads this post to refute me. Go ahead. Prove me wrong. I say you can't.

Astounding how the Mo's consider themselves superior to us, while using all the stuff we invented! And using it against us, as you mentioned with 9/11. There's such enormous irony, it's gigantic, it's volcanic.

Actually, Haid, I wasn't thinking about the Mohammedans when I said the world would be better off without the 'Net.
I'm thinking of kids' exposure to porn, pedophiles contacting children, people being murdered by sociopaths they met online and were fooled by, scam artists, etc - terrible things that can happen online, and that would not have happened otherwise.
Since we do have the 'Net, however, and concerning Islam and Mohammedans, Thank God there's JW and DW and other similar sites!
But to me the cons still outweigh the pros concerning this technology.
Question: Do you think 9/11 would have happened if the 'Net didn't exist?
