Indian army acknowledges jihad

Better late than never, as proper context is always necessary in war. What's important to note here is that India is officially at least recognizing the concept of "jihad" (and not as a struggle within the self). Proper language relays proper thoughts, which relay a proper course of action. Here's to the day when the U.S. military officially acknowledges that it too is at war with jihad. “Al-Qaeda, Taliban jihadis could be in Kashmir: Army,” by Rahul Singh, for Hindustan Times, July 14:

At a time when infiltration bids have spiralled upwards in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army has for the first time not ruled out the possibility of Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters waging jihad in the state.

Asked if terrorists from these outfits were operating in the Valley, Army chief General Deepak Kapoor said on Thursday, “It is a recognised fact that foreign terrorists account for some 48 per cent of the total in J&K. It won’t be surprising if some of them belong to these terror outfits.”
Elaborating, he said, “When militants get into a radicalised or fundamentalist mode, I do not think they are concerned about national boundaries… They will wage the so-called jihad anywhere alongside Taliban in Afghanistan or in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The "so-called jihad" is a real killer.

Raymond

Nothing to crow about here. They are still recognizing Jihad as something only 'radicals and fundamentalists' do - no recognition that it's mainstream Islam. And if it was, there's no way the Indian government at large would be so dhimmified while dealing with Mohammedans within India, be it the Amarnath caves, Bangalore riots, subsidized haj, et al.

In the West, for all the desired dhimmitude, there is still only one law for Infidels and Mohammedans alike. In India, Mohammedans do have Shariah law: only that in their terminology, it's called 'Muslim Personal Law' code. Which allows anything from multiple wives to that ridiculous situation some years ago when an aged Mohammedan who raped his daughter in law was proclaimed by a Mohammedan village as her husband (a la Mohammed/Zainab), but which was overturned by a court following a major public outcry.

“It is a recognised fact that foreign terrorists account for some 48 per cent of the total in J&K."

This suggests that more than half the terrorists are Indian, does it not?

A very small step in the right direction but, as Infidel Pride noted above, jihad is endemic to all of Islam, not just the more radical version of it.

This is not new. Indian public has known all along that Kashmir terrorism has a basis in Islam. The army has known it too but has been under pressure not to say so. Nonetheless, this is a welcome step. You first have to acknowledge the source and nature of the problem before dealing with it effectively.
I have talked to Indian army officers who have served in Kashmir. They all say that without government interference, they can clean up the mess in Kashmir fairly quickly.

l see ruling elites are the same all over, they keep trying to stop the truth from coming out, the real people who do the work, the soldiers know and understand the evil cult of islam. India let your army clean up the garbage in your country. take down those mosques! l mean after millions of Hindus have been killed and they are just realizing thats its ISLAM!

There is a confluence of geo-political factors that render the USA and India natural allies. These include the juxtaposition of both China and the Islamic world to India, America's need for help in the war against Islamic terror, a common language, a growing economic interdependence, and of course shared democratic values.

Unfortunately, politicians in both countries are behind the curve. Movement has been made, but it must be accelerated.

Over the years, here on the jihadwatch and dhimmiwatch comments floor, non-Muslim Indians, Hindu and Sikh, from within India and from places such as the UK, have posted and commented, often very intelligently. Young Vikrant, Gorkhali, Arjun Sevak are names that spring to mind, and our latest posters such as savsiv and Indian Tiger...I particularly recall the lively real-time commentary and information provided by Indian posters when the terrible jihad bombings took place in Mumbai.

Since many educated Indians know English, we can only assume that those who have adopted a nom de plume and stepped onto the floor to join the discussion, are only a few of the many - perhaps hundreds or even thousands? - who may be reading over our shoulders, and then taking what they learn, to their non-English-speaking friends, relatives, workmates, classmates, acquaintances...

Who knows how far the word is spreading into India, carried by those who know English as their second or third language, and soak up the message here from Mr Spencer and Mr Ibrahim and Mr Fitzgerald, together with the heartening news that many outside India empathise with India's past and present sufferings at Mohammedan hands and are cheering her on and longing to see her triumph against jihad?

Of course, for many ordinary Indians the sort of information Mr Spencer provides - chapter and verse of Quran, etc, related directly to historic Mohammedan behaviour - is simply confirmation in spades of what they already know only too well from personal observation.

India - take back Kashmir. Thailand - take, and hold, the south; flatten the jihadis. Philippines - DO NOT give the Muslims 'autonomy'; they will merely use Mindanao as a platform from which to attack the rest of your country. Timor Lorosae - oh my Australian PM, sooner or later the jihadis will try to reconquer Timor, we had better make sure the Timorese are strong enough to resist, and that we are ready to stand at their back and help them.

Muslims proceed by increments, unless they are very powerful. But two can play at that game; the rolback of the Jihad can proceed in the same manner. How else were Portugal and Spain, or Greece, or the rest of the Balkans, liberated from the Empire of Islam? It didn't happen all at once.
