Pakistan to U.S.: You ain't huntin' for Osama here

Isn't it super how the new regime in Pakistan has stepped up its fight against the jihadists? Friend and Ally Update: "Pakistan: U.S. can't hunt bin Laden on its turf," from AP, July 13 (thanks to Mackie):

NEW YORK (AP) — Pakistan's top diplomat said Saturday there are no U.S. or other foreign military personnel on the hunt for Osama bin Laden in his nation, and none will be allowed in to search for the al-Qaeda leader. [...]

"Our government's policy is that our troops, paramilitary forces and our regular forces are deployed in sufficient numbers. They are capable of taking action there. And any foreign intrusion would be counterproductive," he said Saturday. "People will not accept it. Questions of sovereignty come in."...

And how, pray tell, are they going to stop us?

Hmm. And we pay them billions for their support. Tome to reevaluate that.

Posted by: Sounder [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 14, 2008 10:00 AM

Osama is probably now in the home of Prime Minister Gilani, or with PPP leaders Zardari or Bilawal, or maybe even Nawaz Sharief.

No wonder Islamabad says hands off!

Cut aid now! Why worry about a Islamist safe haven in Afganistan when Pakistan already is one.

Posted by: Ruebacca [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 14, 2008 10:03 AM

LOL Well Islam is what Islam is. Muslims ain't going fight their own. All the regulars here by now know that. Unfortunately for some odd reason our policy makers do not seem to get that...I wonder do they not have ears, do they not have eyes to see, do they not have mouths to speak about what reality is showing. Can they not deduce from empirical evidence what is going on? The UMMAH will never ever be the ally of a Kafir nation it will always fight it. The USA is a infidel kafir nation it is that simple. But you know the Pakistanis will gladly take our billions of dollars for JIZYA.

Can you imagine, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, or JFK asking a enemy's "permission" to pursue the self-proclaimed perpetrators of the 9/11 atrocities? Bush's "you're either with us or with the terrorists" bluster notwithstanding, this clear evidence of America's lack of seriousness does nothing but embolden jihadists everywhere.

.........................

Quel surprise. I was never a fan of Pervez Musharraf, a dictator in the old-school mode, come to power in the time-honored way--through a military coup.

The idea, though, that Musharraf was the chief impediment to a full, Western-style democracy in his country, though, was ludicrous. The idea, also, that he was the worst thing that could happen to Pakistan was also absurd, especially with the horrifying example of Taliban Afghanistan next door.

It looks as though the current government in Pakistan is not only continuing Musharraf's policy of making accomodation with the Taliban and other jihadi elements in the border area with Afghanistan, but is stepping it up--making truces, withdrawing Pakistani troops, generally ceding the area to full Shari'ah.

Of course, Pakistan is largely an Islamic hell-hole even at this point, but I'm not sure how the government can consider this a sane policy. Most likely it's a combination of things--age-old wishful thinking that appeasing a violent enemy will give you more security, a realization that fighting the "radicals" will be unpopular with most Pakistanis, and--most likely--a sneaking admiration of their own for proponents of such "pure Islam".

It may not be long before we find the full Islamic state with nuclear armaments, perhaps even in advance of Iran. An extremely frightening spector, but it seems more likely all the time.

And this news surprises us...........why? One of the basic facts of islam is that it is completely predictable.

We already know what they intend to do. We just don't know when or where.

I don't know what to believe anymore. One day I hear we are indeed crossing the border to fight the Taliban and al Qaeda - and then another day I read this.

I wonder if the Pakistani are just denying it in public what we are doing in private.

Otherwise, I really do not know what to believe at this point. I have a feeling we are ignoring this sort of rhetoric and crossing into Pakistan.

Government by schizophrenia. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The only way either of these 'allies' of ours are allowed to survive is if they render MORE assistance to the Jihad than not. The charade of letting the Pakistani military 'handle' the 'problem' in the tribal areas. Nine more dead Americans for NOTHING, ZILCH, NADA. We are more afraid of Pakistan than they are of us. It boils down to that. It is PITIFUL.

What happened to "those who harbor the enemy will be considered part of the enemy" the swagger of Bush after 9/11. Another bunch of lies from a storefront dummy who parades as commander-in-chief.
The sad part is that no one on the political horizon understands that Pakistan is the enemy as much as Osama and his band of sword rattlers are.

If the Pak cannot control their border how the hell can they control Nato forces going after the taliban. l just bomb the crap out them, take away any military equipment and money. the only good thing Nobama said was to bomb the PAk if they harbour OBL.

The Pig God came to me in a dream and told me that the paki's were the ones who attacked us on 9-11. Not Afghanistan.

Pak country is run by a bunch of clowns ever since its bastardized birth. None of them are credible but laughable. It kind of amazes me they have WMD.

If we attack Pakiland, we aint gonne get OBL no matter what. There is something out there if folks aint picking up $50mill up front from our Government. I think no matter how religious these nut-jobs may be $s are more attractive than the camel face OBL. Did you know the PAK Government complained they didn't receive the bounty for delivering Sheik Mohd. or whatever his name is. That is real pathetic. These people are as low as it gets, or even lower. Our lot is as dumb as it gets. We keep on helping these nit-wits without questions. They are hell-bent on killing us.

My money is on OBL living inside a Pak Governmental safe house, protected by the shady ISI un-LTD.

Didn't "Prophet" Obama say he'd invade Pak if he knew bin Laden were there?

Time to MAN up, Hussein O!

They practically sound as if they are boasting!

Posted by: Ummah Gummah [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 14, 2008 5:53 PM

The problem with Hussein Obama is that he is obviously lying. He has no intentions of fighting these jihadist swine anywhere.

He is practicing Taqiyya on the brainwashed, all-too-eager-to-elect-the-first-black-President electorate.

I tend to agree with R nots, post that Pakistan is making a public statement to cover their asses with their populace.

Dissimulation while culturally looked at in the west as being UNmanly and sneaky is culturally more acceptable in mahometan inspired cultures.
