Ho hum, another outrage
It is hard to follow his line of thinking here. This cover insults Muslims because it depicts Obama as an Islamic terrorist? How exactly is a satirical drawing of a portrait of Osama bin Laden (a Muslim, and a terrorist) in the vicinity of Barack Obama dressed in Muslim garb (although he is not a Muslim, or a terrorist) insulting to Muslims who are not terrorists? Obama seems to be buying into the line, the increasingly common line, that any shadow of a hint that Islam might have anything to do with terrorism is ipso facto offensive and insulting -- and that is a line, already articulated by the Bush Administration's new guidelines on Speak-No-Jihad, that will preclude us from understanding our enemy or meeting the challenge he poses.
"Obama: New Yorker Insulted Muslim Americans," from NewsMax, July 15 (thanks to all who sent this in):
Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday that the New Yorker magazine's satirical cover depicting him and his wife as flag-burning, fist-bumping radicals doesn't bother him but that it was an insult to Muslim Americans."You know, there are wonderful Muslim Americans all across the country who are doing wonderful things," the presidential candidate told CNN's Larry King. "And for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it's not what America's all about."
Obama blamed himself for not being forceful enough in challenging some of the rumors about him, including that he is Muslim. Obama is Christian.
Yet many Muslims think he has been plenty forceful -- too forceful.

The cover insults because they want it to be insulting. A sense of humor would be demanding too much - that involves an independent mind.

I don't see the problem with this image. This is exactly the image the Obama's have projected. They are attempting to capitalize on the Hate America, Fight the Power, Kill Whitey, Spike Lee, Nation of Islam, La Rasa, Commie, Castro segment of society.
The Obama's disgust me.
And we still have not seen proof that this man is an American citizen.

If there was not some truth to the cartoon, it would not be interesting and therefore would not have been used.

So the Muslims despise seeing their "holy prophet" ridiculed in cartoons? Apparently, so does the radical Left. The thin skinned response also reminds. So does the bristing arrogance, the soaring flowery rhetoric concealing a congenital weakness of thought.
Obama is no Muslim terrorist, but sometimes he certainly reminds one of a Muslim!

Who cares whether Muslims are insulted by a cartoon of Obama? Muslims are easily insulted by anything and everything. Last time I looked there is no right to not be insulted.

If Obama claims to be a Christian, then why did he support abortion legislation permitting deaths of abortion survivors?

It's seems clear to me the Obama's admitted cocaine use has had a material effect on his reasoning and cognitive ability.
He talks in complete circles these days, about every subject.

Islam is nowhere in this picture. Osama bin Laden is.
Don't American Muslims say Osama doesn't speak for them? Why would they be insulted at this picture? They're not in this picture either, or are they?
As for Obama's dress, since when is it "Muslim"? Michelle Obama's picture reminds one more of black separatist movements from decades ago, not of a modern-day Muslim terrorist.
Why isn't Obama's blaming himself for "not being forceful enough in challenging some of the rumors about him, including that he is Muslim" in itself an insult to Muslim-Americans?
The New Yorker has portrayed Bush as Hitler. It quickly went by the wayside. Every time Muslims and Democrats protest about the lampooning they receive in the press, they only lend credence to the idea that they are up to no good.

He is not a big C Christian. He is a follower of "another Jesus" and "another Gospel".
He believes in a black God, if God is not black, then he will not follow him.
Black Liberation Theology has created a god in it's own image.
The media is failing America, if the Republican candidate was a member of a White Identity church, he would be crucified in the press.

Still waiting for someone to show me in the U.S. Constitution where it gives anyone the right to not be offended. I found the part where I can say something offensive, and I found the part where I can print something offensive, just no part that says I can't be offended.
How 'bout all you ACLU lawyers, any of you guys able to clarify this for me?
That's what I thought, crickets.

Reminds me of that Blues Brothers' song that asks "What I do to piss you off this time, baby?"

I believe there was another New Yorker cover from a few years ago that depicted President Bush and Vice President Cheney as characters from the Brokeback Mountain movie. Gee, where was the outcry then about such an insulting cover of a sitting President and Vice-President? And Barack can say its is offensive to Muslims but what else is new - EVERYTHING offends them. I suppose if he was truly a committed Christian and not someone who attended a very political church to establish his street creds, his reply could have been that as a committed and devout Christian and a proud American that he is thankful for the blessings of being a citizen and living in a country such as the US where such satire can be published, encouraged/ridiculed, discussed, etc without the fear of riots in the streets, etc. But no, we get instead his skin is thinner than onion paper whine. What a loser.

This I found on Atlas Shrugs:
From Obama's 9/19/2001 speech.
"We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair."
'nuff said, O!
