More Muslims not fitting in; more Europeans not taking it. Nor can this be credited to "Islamophobia" since the mosque in question has already been accused of terrorist ties, including with al-Qaeda. "Evicted Milan Muslims pray at stadium 'mosque,’” from Earth Times, July 18:
Milan, Italy - Italian police were out in force Friday at a Milan stadium converted into a makeshift mosque by Muslims who were forced to abandon their previous place of worship, a downtown garage which has been linked to Islamist terrorism.Organizers of the Friday prayers, said they expected some 5,000 Muslims at the Vigorelli velodrome which also contains a disused cycling track.
The decision by Milan's town hall to allow Muslims to use the facility on a temporary basis has triggered protests from local residents, raising concern of possible attempts to disrupt the prayer session.
On Friday, around a several dozen protesters, including far-right political leader, Daniela Santanche, gathered near the stadium.
"We are here to prevent a symbol of Milanese sport from being transformed into a mosque," Santanche, who leads the opposition party, The Right, said.Earlier this month, Italy's centre-right government ordered the closure of the so-called Jenner mosque - the converted garage where for over 20 years, thousands of Muslims in Italy's financial capital attended prayer sessions.
Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said the decision was based on public order and health concerns - worshippers often spilled out on the street - and complaints from local residents.Maroni, a member of the anti-immigration Northern League, drew sharp criticism for the move, with one a prominent Catholic cleric, Monsignor Gianfranco Bottoni, who deals with inter-faith issues in Milan, describing it as "fascist".
The Jenner mosque, which takes its informal name from the street where it was situated - had come under the spotlight several times for alleged links to extremism.
Investigators have suggested it may have served as an international clearing-house for al-Qaeda ahead of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.
A Muslim cleric, Abu Omar, at the centre of an alleged "rendition" case involving US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agents, says he was kidnapped on his way to the mosque in 2003 and then transferred to Egypt, where he was tortured.
Twenty-six suspected CIA agents and several Italian intelligence officials are currently on trial in Milan over his alleged rendition.

Hooray for the Italians.
Make them so uncomfortable that going back to Dar-al-islam is preferable.

Good for the Italians they see the dangers inherent in Islam and the possibility of that violence being perpetrated against them weather now or in the future.

...."Twenty-six suspected CIA agents and several Italian intelligence officials"...??
I esriously doubt that it would take 26 CIA agents ans several intell officials to "kidnap" one muslim cleric. After all, five times a day he is in the same place with his a$$ in the air and his head on the ground...

"Good for the Italians!" "Hooray for the Italians!"
Really?
Perhaps. But don't forget that these same hooray-for-the-Italians have also hauled our CIA patriots before their courts on kidnapping charges for removing this Muslim scum off their streets.
Don't forget that these good-for-the-Italians' war efforts are pathetic in the international arena in Afghanistan et al.
Don't forget that these "allies" have seriously attempted to prosecute our Secretary of Defense, our Vice President, and our President on "War Crimes" for fighting (in partial measure on Italy's behalf) back against the fascist Islamic scourge.
Italians have a long way to go before it's "hooray for the Italians" in my book.

"Earlier this month, Italy's centre-right government ordered the closure of the so-called Jenner mosque..."
-- from the article above
You can hardly read an article about terrorism in Italy in the Corriere, or listen to a news broadcast on the RAI, and not hear about the mosque on "viale Jenner." It has been a center for suspicious activities for years, and finally the new government has shut it down. It should have happened years ago.

jsla, true, but a march of a thousand miles begins with one step.
We see dhimmitude all around us and resistance is to be celebrated no matter how small.

jsla,
Italy is divided, just like America is. Right down the middle.
The people who are behind "hauled our CIA patriots before their courts on kidnapping charges for removing this Muslim scum off their street" are the commies who are in cahoots with the Musulmani and the PC-multiculti EUrabia crowd. Just like in your country, they have infiltrated the judiciary, the universities and they are in politics.
Fortunately for us, at this moment Italy has a 'right wing' government, so you can see a bit of sanity on display, as in this case. That doesn't mean that scum like Xavier Solana disappaeared from the scene, these guys are still around, just like Obama and Farraklan.

"Good for the Italians!" "Hooray for the Italians!"
Start closing down all the mosques, kick out the moors. These pigs polute any place they set their foot on. A muslim mosque is the place where they start to breed terror, the residents have to be worried if a moorish mosque comes up near his place. Stay united dont let them make a stadium into a mosque which they will do if u allow them.
A camel puts his head into the tent which gives it shelter then takes over the entire tent. These r shepards for arab lands beware.

It seems to me that the Italians are becoming more and more resistant to the mighty hand of Islam. This is extremely hopeful and promising.

The West has learned to talk talk talk away a visceral repugnance that Muslim arrogance evokes. But everywhere there are limits. Wait till it really hits the fan.

And what is Msgr. Bottoni's reaction to the story of Christian girls, 13 and 10, who were kidnapped and somehow converted "in a legitimate way" to Islam and then at least one given in marriage to the son of the kidnapper?
More Muslims not fitting in; more Europeans not taking it.
It's about time!

jsla:
Things are looking up in Italy. Since the re-election of Berlusconi and his allied parties there has been a significant new wave of anti-jihad spirit, a new toughness on anything that shows itself as a threat to the host culture. The Northern League, part of the coalition, are particularly proud and protective of their traditions and values and now they are back in the driving seat will no longer be treating Muslims with kid gloves as the previous administration did. It seems to me that Italy is turning under the new government and is showing the rest of dhimmi Europe how Islamic supremacism should be treated. I hope this is only the beginning and that further proscriptions and constraints on Islam will follow, as well as a stop to Muslim immigration and hopefully some significant high profile arrests and deportations.

It's good to see the Italians taking some action. Even a first step is better than no steps at all. And one step leads to another.
One further big step the Italians could take is to start having more children. Without this, their steps are like steps up on a down escalator.

this is slightly off topic but l heard the other on talkradio (Laura Ingram) that the Italian gov't passed a law that prevents people, aka tourists from eating snacks, etc in front of touristy places in Rome. l forget which building it was, but anyway the police on their first arrest of this law were two men from Tunisia who were drinking beer and eating some kind of junk food. they dont mention that these Tunisian men were prol muslim, and they were enjoying beer which is outlawed in islam.. catch two birds with one stone.lol

As several who have posted already have indicated, to the extent that Italy is properly confronting Islamic supremacism it is the Right which is doing so. And to the extent that excuses are still being made for Muslims in Italy and the Americans are treated as the bad guys and rubbish along these lines, it is the Left which is responsible. I wish it weren't the case and that both Left and Right in Italy and every Western country would work in unison to counter the Islamic agenda, but sadly this is not the case.
Yes, I know a a guy on the Right like D'Souza comes along here and there and doesn't see Islam for what it is and that politicians from both sides of the political aisle are still in denial, but it's overwhelmingly the liberals in Western countries who are the clueless ones in not comprehending what Islam has in store for all of us.

This needs to be loud so turn the volume to eleven if your dials go that far! Nabucco is one of Italy's best-loved operas and 'Va Pensiero'in the third act, has established itself as the alternative Italian national anthem.
God bless Oriana, Viva Italia!!
I think we all need alternative national anthems as the powers that be are seriously letting us down (putting it mildly)
As a Brit I will obviously go for Jerusalem as opposed to our current dirge GSTQ.
Feel free to add yours where ever you come from.
Sorry.......... probably a bit too jingoistic for most readers.

The Italian Government is playing Dhimni in their PURSUIT and now TRIAL of "suspected" CIA and their own agents.
If our Agents were involved in the RIGHTEOUS Act of TAKING an ISLAMONAZI Leader out of "play", GOD BLESS THEM!
The Italian Leadership should have told whichever Italian Dhimnis pursued this travesty, NO, and put THEM on Trial for TREASON, instead!

The decision by Milan's town hall to allow Muslims to use the facility on a temporary basis
dont those idiots realize once muslims move in there like new york German cockroaches you can't get them out it looks like even when they are driven out they keep trying to get back in just look at the church i Italy that was turned in to a mosque by the moors the local mud-lims are trying to use the church as a mosque
at July 18, 2008 3:25 PM
Use it or lose it.
The locals ought to get together and work out a way of bringing the stadium back into full, active use, every day. So the Muslims can be told, 'it's all booked out'.
Same applies to churches, community halls, etc.
No 'unoccupied' ground. No broken windows. No vacant lots.

choi and jsla, don't talk of things you don't know about. End of story.
What is amazing is the sheer arrogance of the bastards. They really are digging their own graves with their complete disregard of Italian tradition and local value. The Velodromo Vigorelli is one of Milan's oldest and best-loved arenas, a centre for the immensely popular sport of cycling, and something where every local person, including myself, has personal memories. Any attempt to take it over for their own damned business would be as welcome as, say, NY Muslims taking over Yankee Stadium. No local administration of any coulour could tolerate this sort of usurpation for a minute.

Paolo posted- "choi and jsla, don't talk of things you don't know about. End of story."--OK,PAOLO, tell us what "we don't know about"!
What we DO KNOW is that LEFT-WING ITALIAN Traitors are using their positions in Italy's Government to take those who DEFEND the Free World from the Islamonazi Drive for WORLD CONQUEST out of OUR DEFENSIVE battle, and to stop others from Defending us OUT OF FEAR of Prosecution for DOING THEIR JOBS .
So,Paolo,What don't WE KNOW?
